I still haven’t tried the pizza here because I can’t get past the rotisserie chicken and ribs. Actually I had never been on the premises before my visit last month. I had grown to like their food from ordering delivery a couple of times from them on the Eat 24 app. Early one Friday evening, I got off at the 24th Street BART station with the intention of eating Mexican, but I caught a glimpse of the sign and thought I should try their food in their space for a change. There weren’t any customers, so I got a lot of attention at the register as I was perusing the extensive menu. The pizzas sounded a bit too ambitious for my appetite, and while the calzones and stromboli were tempting, I’ll give you one guess what I ordered. Yep, I went with the chicken, the $ 9 Poulet Roti, a half-bird marinated in herbs, citrus and garlic on a spit, which appears to the the big trend these days. It came with a mountain of oven-roasted Yukon gold potatoes sprinkled with onions and herbs(photo: ). It turns out they serve this dish only on weekends at least on the premises. The chicken turned out to taste better in person than at the end of a delivery route. The meat was much more tender and the skin crispier when it comes right off the spit. The potatoes, on the other hand, were a little too heavy and moist for me with the portion a bit too generous to satisfy completely. As a starter, I ordered the Whole Leaf Caesar Salad, which was only $ 3 as an accompaniment to the Poulet Roti. They used to use whole spears of Romaine which made it seem more like an hors d’œuvre you could pick up like a barbarian, but they now use little gems which made it seem much more like a salad. Not a bad thing since it still had the garlic croutons, the chopped chives and shallots, the creamy Caesar dressing with the heavy Parmesan cheese(photo: ). I suppose that could have been a meal in itself, but who am I kidding? I ate my dinner in the solitary confinement of their back room where the TV was not even working. I did sneak a peek at their renovated patio, and I could see its potential as party-hearty central(photo: ). FOOD — 4 stars… solid rotisserie chicken is even better when it’s not delivered to your door AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… it has potential of being a convivial space but it was hard to envision in my own little corner in my own little room SERVICE — 4 stars… friendly even to a party of one TOTAL — 4 stars… I should get off my butt more often and come here than pull up the Eat 24 app as convenient as that may be

Thought I’d try this place on the strength of the Unilocal reviews. Here is what I found. Positives: **garlic cheese bread — very tasty **delivery came on time — always nice Negatives: **I ordered the American, minus olives and mushrooms, adding spinach. We got the American, mushrooms and olives included, and no spinach. EXTREMELY disappointing. **ordered iced tea — apparently they didn’t have it but neglected to let me know until I asked the delivery guy about it. That changed the price and I had to scramble to make sure I paid the bill amount with a tip. **The second reason I had to scramble is because the delivery guy didn’t bring any change. So not only did they change the price without telling me, but when I was finally informed, I had to scrounge around for exact change to pay the guy the new bill plus tip. *sigh* With the millions of places to get pizza around here, I’ll most likely pass on this place in the future.

–ordered the Burratina and the New Yorker –Used a buy one get one 50% off coupon Quoted 45 min. delivery time, arrived in 25 min. After dealing with horrible delivery issues from places like Patxi’s, that was a relief. Not the best Artisan pizzas in SF(I thought Zero Zero was better) but they are solid! Fresh ingredients, and good fire roasted crust. I feel they are a 3.5(without the coupon, they’d be expensive for the quality) but giving them 4 stars for the delicious olive oil on the Burratina and the prompt delivery.

Came here cus my bf wanted pizza, they had the lunch deal where you buy 1 slice, and get another slice for free(Peperoni or Cheese). Pizza was good! not too overwhelming, but yet flavorful. Also the slices are big! We also ordered the house salad which I enjoyed, the dressing was flavorful and the veggies were fresh! we would come here again if we are in the area.

Chicken little. Falling sky: Falling stars: — Greasy and far from fresh overpriced $ 4 slice of cheese pizza. — $ 9 six inch sandwich with perhaps ten small pieces of chicken. — Only two people working including just one in the kitchen. Lead cashier was nice but seemed disinterested. Homemade BBQ sauce was great. Everything else from the food to the prices to the extensive wait(20m with no one else in the restaurant) was not. Space was eerily empty including the closed back patio due to the rain. Suppose with the relatively high average review it’s packed during better weather. Not sure why as there is little to recommend.

Rustic pizza catered lunch for the volunteers and staff of a large event in SF this past weekend. Despite issues with traffic and having to make and deliver enough pizza for a few hundred people, the pizza was still delicious, warm, and a welcome break in the day when it arrived. We had two basics: pepperoni and plain cheese as well as salads. The fire roasted crust had a pleasant crunch to it and I chowed down on every bite. I did not try the salad, but it looked fresh and crisp. Friendly management as well who was definitely a hero to many of us this past weekend. Definitely a place I will take friends to in the future for both the good food and the friendly staff.

Worst pizza I ever had! When I opened the box, looking forward to my prosciutto pizza, the smell turned my stomach. I think the truffle oil on the arugula or something else was rancid. First time I have thrown a pizza out. What a waste if money and ingredients. Hopefully the one piece I are won’t make me throw up! Won’t order from here again!

At $ 5 a slice and $ 10 per salad, I wish the staff knew more about their food. Visit One: «Which slices are vegetarian?» «None right now.» «What about that one?» «It’s cheese.» «No meat?» «No.» Visit Two: «Your menu says the arugula salad is made of organic herbs. Is the arugula in your beet salad organic?» «Yes, there’s no meat in that salad.»

Such a shame cause it had a promising start and is in a good location. Now the food is lousy(soggy, overdressed pizza, crap Safeway salad) and service incompetent– sweet but incompetent. Overpriced too. And yeah. Don’t hold your breathe on that patio/bocce court…

First visit a few months ago was ok. They tried passing off a cheese pizza as a margherita pizza! Second visit was horrible. Good money wasted on a roasted chicken salad and BBQ chicken sub. Salad and sandwich had the same dry, grizzly and very old looking chicken. The only decent part was the bread on the sandwich.

It took them 30 minutes to tell me that they had run out of the food I wanted. When there was a 45 min delivery window. Won’t be ordering from them again.

Absolutely terrible experience. Ordered through Grubhub. 40 minutes later arrived to pick up, and the 3 person staff literally at that moment noticed the Grubhub order on their printer/fax. We negotiated half-off and delivery. The pizza came 15 minutes later, as promised(tip for delivery given, mind you), and the woman carrying the pizza must have been carrying the pizza boxes *vertically*. So they were dripping out of the box. When we opened both pizza boxes, *all* of the toppings had poured/slide to the bottom/left corner of the pizza box(I have plenty of pictures to show this). Absolutely horrendous. Ridiculous joke. Terrible. How is it possible that restaurant owners this crappy get to open restaurants at spots at 24th and mission? Who gave these idiots their bank loan??? Close down shop and make way for someone who can actually be part of the neighborhood.

The wait staff was certainly very nice, and the pizza was warm and just the right size, with the right amount of oily-ness and toppings. The inside of the store is small but cozy and well decorated. Definitely a good place to stop by for some quick late night pizza if you are bar-hopping around the 24th street BART station area.

After I found a Rustic menu on my doorknob, I decided to give them a try. After reading their menu, I was super excited to order their Roasted Portobello signature pizza plus a Roasted Beet salad in order to make the delivery minimum. The pizza was an epic disappointment. It seemed like I got pranked by paying such a premium price for an artisan pizza(their words) that I can only describe as barely mediocre. Completely demoralized by its blandness, I discarded nearly all of the pizza uneaten. The salad was delicious, though, so I had that going for me which was nice.

This is a great find in the Mission and one of my go to places for salads. They have lots of great food, but if you are wondering what to get try one or both of these salads. Roasted Chicken Gorgonzola or Roasted Beet with the goat cheese is amazing. Now these salads are big enough for two people, so I suggest spitting them. Or maybe ask for a half order. Pizza’s are also great, try the Fior de Latte Mozzarella. mmmmm.

Review is for take out only. The pizzas are delicious. the salads are pretty good, too. We got the Gorgonzola salad with chicken and it was very filling. Skip the ribs… too much sauce and too fatty.

We ordered two pizzas online. They showed up, TWOAND A HALFHOURS later, cold. The pizza itself wasn’t bad. UPDATE: The owners contacted us and asked the opportunity try again.(They’re social media savvy, apparently.) This time, it only took an hour, which is what they told us it would be, and the pizzas weren’t cold, hurrah. As before, the pizzas were ok but not amazing. Still, it’s the best delivery pizza we’ve found yet. Too bad almost no one delivers in SF. So bizarre.

Went here for dinner to enjoy the warm city night last night. The place was full but not packed. Everyone seemed very engaged in their meal. I soon figured out why. We got the buratta pizza, ribs and beet salad to split 4 ways. They were all great. Who would have guessed a pizza place made great ribs? They have a great beer selection. Nice staff. Excellent food. And once the patio is open this will be a hot spot in no time.

So cool to see more businesses popping up in the Mission. I love the vibe and décor here. The garlic cheese bread is sooo good. Also tried the burratina pizza with sausage which was good, but the crust could’ve been a little thinner and crispier. The bar and beer garden in the back look awesome. Can’t wait til they open!

Rustic just opened a few weeks ago, and it’s awesome that we now have another cool addition to the 24th street restaurants. The interior is rustic(hah go figure) and modern; they have an outdoor patio under construction and pending permit where they plan to put a bocce ball court. There are a couple small tables and bar seats in the front, and a few larger tables in the back. I love the premise of this restaurant so much — napoletena thin crust pizzas, quality ingredients from the sauce to the cheeses, beer on tap and wine. Unfortunately, the food for me fell short. — The pizza is served on a special dough that the chef says he proofs for hours beforehand, and topped with fancy fermented tomato sauce and 3 types of cheese. The chef sold me on the description, but it ended up tasting kinda like a regular slice of pizza with a crunchy thin crust. I’m sorry but the first thing that came to mind was frozen CPK pizza with some elevated toppings like fresh basil and cheese. — The garlic cheese bread is made with specially baked bread from North Beach bakery, but essentially tastes like an airy, über buttery garlic cheese bread. To be honest it reminded me of something I’d get at Jillian’s during a work happy hour. It was good in the sense that there were large amounts of cheese and butter on bread, but not the best way I’d like to spend my carb intake. I would definitely come back for happy hour drink specials, and perhaps to enjoy some bocce on the weekends. Note: they also sell select flavors by the slice.
