I was recommended to Sally by a friend for my haircut and color. When I got there I show Sally a picture on my phone of exactly what I wanted. And sure enough I left very satisfied impressed. Sally is very sweet and personal, I felt like I’ve been going to her for a very long time! I’m so happy I found her!

Betty took me in as a first timer traveling in from Atlanta and gave me the best men’s style I’ve had in years. She discovered I’ve been parting against my natural part, and I now swing it from the right. Who knew? :)

When I think of Betty, I think of 1.) Betty Crocker(the ultimate solution to a stressful week) 2.) Betty the«go to person» when I’m desperate for a haircut/coloring session. I spent $ 175 for a trim/coloring and rec’d tons of compliment from others. As a result, I’ve been busy checking myself out(staring at my reflections whenever I see a parked car) vs. paying attention to oncoming pedestrian traffic or dog shit on the ground. I am a thrifty spender and will cough up the dough, when I am long-due for a new hairdo, yah heard. Anywho, The 411 on Betty… She is nice, chatty & efficient. You’ll be out in a jiffy. The 411 on the salon… It’s clean! They have plenty of magazines(if you’re in the mood to catch up on celebrity nonsense, you’ll be happy)! The 411 on the bathroom… Super clean! They have hand lotion and air refresher! Woot woot. The 411 on the staff/owner… Everyone is friendly! The 411 on me… Content like a happy bee until I turn into hot mess Judd in a couple of months.

I wanted to straighten out my old digital perm but after years of putting my hair through the Japanese magic perm, I needed something gentler for my noggin. So I got a keratin treatment. The positives are that it doesn’t damage your hair if applied right, makes your hair shine healthy, and keeps it smooth and manageable. The negatives are that it’s expensive, only lasts a few months, and takes two to three hours. Anna was great. She was thorough and took her time(we didn’t finish until after closing on a Friday night but she never tried to rush things). Keratin treatments are labor-intensive and with my long hair, it took longer than expected. The place is dated and does have pink walls. But I don’t go to salons for the atmosphere. I go to get my hair did, did right, and for a reasonable price. Sally’s provides that trifecta. Plus they offer coffee and free wifi.

Anna is my stylist now. I used to go to another place but decided to try someone and someplace new and I ended up here. When I first walked in, Ana was the one who greeted me since she was near the door and she was SUPER nice. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair and she said no problem. Sure enough, it was just like the picture. She took her time and I really like that about stylists. I don’t like it if they see some other customer come in and then bam bam bam they speed up your haircut. Not Anna, she took her time. Also a shampoo included! I can’t complain about the prices. It was in my ballpark range too.

I just did a walk-in hair cut today for a first time. My friend came here long time ago so I think I should try this place. I asked Sally to have my hair cut to Beckham hairstyle which I showed her the picture. And she did a great job without any trouble! $ 30 for man hair cut!!! Not so bad and I’d come back!

I’ve been a client of Betty’s for over ten years. Because of the distance, I’ve occasionally tried other Asian hair salons in the Bay Area, but I always end up coming back to Betty. She’s amazing! I have thick hair with a stubborn wave only on the right side, yet she’s able to cut beautiful long layers with lots of movement. I love that she really takes the time afterwards to style my hair, even if I insist that I’m just going straight home. You’ll leave the salon feeling like a million bucks!

For me the price is pretty expensive on what she did to my hair. I expected a shaggy kind of cut but she only give me a layer at the bottom of my hair. I already show her the picture though. But even though I’m pretty disappointed with it, the result is not that bad. I didn’t get what I wanted but I’m pretty okay with the cut I got.

MYGO-TO hair salon, since I can ever remember. I’ve gotten my hair cut in super bougie places that cost ~90 bucks, they of course do a decent job, but HONESTLY, no one can beat Betty. If you’re asian, you honestly need to get your hair cut by a Korean woman, that isn’t old school(old school korean ladies chop a feet when you ask for an inch off and bald if you ask for a cut). Anyhow, Asian woman know how Asian hair goes. Trust it’s just different(texture-wise, thickness, etc). Anyhow, for cuts, I recommend BETTY. She knows what looks good on Asian girls like me. I always ask for long layers that shape my face and she makes my hair look like Boa, and that’s saying something;)

sally was amazing. She perfected my hair color and made it look super healthy! She worked after hours just to finish my hair with extra care not to worry about drying my hair but she insisted that she dry it and add treatment to make my hair shine. I recommend to all of my friends

–1 for the atmosphere.(Bright pink walls and musty feel, kinda like an 80’s movie.) Betty is a miracle worker! I had permed my hair into a fro, and thought there was no end in sight while I was growing it out. Someone referred me to Betty and said she could help me out. She convinced me to do a magic straight perm for damaged hair(my hair was dyed and then permed twice), and praise Jesus!!! I’m so glad she got me to trust in her. My hair is smooth, straight, and almost restored to its healthy looking state as it was before! Thank you a million times, Betty!

I’ve been going to Sally for about 5 years now. There was a stint of about 6 months or so when I moved down to Palo Alto and tried a few cuts closer to my new home. Unsuccessful in my venture, I returned to Sally in shame like the prodigal son and have been happy ever since. Highly recommend!

Having recently moved to SF I was looking for a place nearby to get a haircut. After searching on Unilocal I settled on Sally’s because it was within walking distance of my apartment and it was decently priced(at least relative to other places in the city). When I arrived I was greeted by Anna and was quickly seated. The first thing she asked me was what I wanted. She was quite friendly as we talked while she cut my hair. At the end I got a thorough wash and some wax to spike my hair. Overall a decent cut and the ladies seem very nice. Plus its super convenient for me since I could just walk over. It slightly more than I usually pay(a cut was $ 30), but I guess thats expected in the city.

Sally is the best barber I have had so far. She is very nice, pays attention to details and takes her time to cut your hair. She does not rush and makes sure you are satisfied to the last strand =]. I would highly recommend her. The timing on this site is wrong, they close at 6:00pm.

My boyfriend was so happy with his haircut, he couldn’t take his eyes off the mirror for 24 hours. And I always go there. Sally rocks!

Definitely a five star for this salon. I always get a haircut with Anna. She’s the best. The thing with Asian guys’ hair is you have to cut them right. I can’t just go to a $ 10 haircut or else I would like I was an 8 year old with a bowl cut… I like how Anna knows how to handle my weirdly shaped head and uncontrolled hair. It’s also affordable! And on top of that, she’s very nice too!

Wandered into Sally’s one afternoon after having made an appointment an hour before. It was a spur of the moment idea, and other salons that I’d walked by were full for the day, requiring appointments for the next openings. I’d been growing the hair out, but for some reason, a change seemed necessary. A random turn of events while walking from Lower Nob Hill to the Western Addition… I almost ended up with an Asian mullet. Thankfully, I spoke up, and Anna turned the almost Asian mullet into a cute haircut that I’ve received many compliments on. *phew* So it seems that I can never stick to just one hair place. This will be one of many. I will likely return if they happen to have an opening when I randomly feel like chopping it off again. Since I don’t speak Korean, I sat through my haircut mostly in silence, which I don’t really mind…
