SF Conservatory of Dance

Just spent two hours round trip and $ 8 to go to a Gaga class listed on their website and it was not happening. Another victim of bad business was there too. She had left work 40 minutes early to get to the Gaga class. Update the f*&$ing website so people don’t waste their time and money.

My daughter has been taking ballet here since she was 5 years old with Kaitlin Parks. The students and their parents adore Kaitlin and the studio is great. Kaitlin keeps it fun and students have shown remarkable progress over the past 3 years. The studio is spacious, well-​lit and orderly. Parking is usually reasonable and the price compared to other after school classes is reasonable.
At the end of each semester there’s a student showcase that includes dances by the tots, the young children and the adult (maybe teen also?) students.
Some of the dancing by the older students is too avant garde for me, but I can see the precision in their dancing such that the rigor of their training in classical ballet really shines through even when dancing in other styles.
When we watched Kaitlin in the Nutcracker recently we saw she’s an excellent dancer herself. She’s a wonderful role model who captures the joy and dedicated focus in the study of dance even while keeping things fun for the kids.

Not sure any words can live up to it: but this is by far the best dance training around. There’s an incredible environment of support and exploration here– I’m glad to call it my dancing home!
