My favorite boutique. Simi carries Joseph Ribkoff, Frank Lyman and more! She has the best bling in town!

«Simi herself(not her actual name) isn’t altogether friendly… when there recently with a friend, we were, very excited to finally get to visit and not just window shop!(mind you, we are very polite/professional/well dressed and certainly respectful in a small retail environment people) However, we got the feelng we were being „sized up“…like, our handbags and shoes were being evaluated for how much we spent, etc… While we were able to browse, we just felt really uncomfortble the whole time and ended up not buying anything even though we had intended to. So…I would recommend to the owner, that she possibly work on her retail warmth a bit…» 100%!

If you are in the market for stylish womens fasions with the advice from a true fashionista, stop by Simi’s. Many people I know drive from far away to shop here.

2.5STARS! Simi’s is a litle boutique in West Portal… her shop windows are always very beguiling to me… for I am a self professed«Accessories Addict» and this place always has dozens and dozens of sparkly baubles and darling ensembles in the front window… with a smattering of handbags too. Here are my gripes with the place: 1. It’s NEVER open! Well, let me rephrase, this store is NEVER open when I’m around. it opens kinda late(10 or 11am Tues to Friday0 closes at 5, the same or less hours on Saturday and closed Sunday! I get the idea this shop is just a side venture for the owner, so perhaps she has another business or businesses elsewhere. If thats the case, hire an asst to be there a little earlier/later! 2. The prices are REALLY high! This is costume jewelry, not necessarily vintage, not designer and for the most part, we’re talking crystals… maybe Swavorski crystals… but still… I like the look of the stuff, it’s just really cost prohibitive! Perhaps the matrons of St. Francis Wood’s don’t mind dropping by and spending $ 100 for a pair of faux crystal chandelier earrings, I’m just not there yet! 3. Simi herself(not her actual name) isn’t altogether friendly… when there recently with a friend, we were, very excited to finally get to visit and not just window shop!(mind you, we are very polite/professional/well dressed and certainly respectful in a small retail environment people) However, we got the feelng we were being«sized up»…like, our handbags and shoes were being evaluated for how much we spent, etc… While we were able to browse, we just felt really uncomfortble the whole time and ended up not buying anything even though we had intended to. So…I would recommend to the owner, that she possibly work on her retail warmth a bit… the«strangers» who come into your shop could be your next«customers», wow, what a concept! As for me, I will shop at my usual, favorite boutiques, where I always get a warm welcome, fair prices and they know my name! 2.5 stars overall(5 stars for the variety /looks of the merchandise, — 2.5 stars for the for the customer service, and pricing)

I ALWAYS have a wonderful time in this store — Simi is a lot of fun, and her prices are good. I rarely leave without buying something, but if I don’t Simi understands.
