No mud. No barbed wire. No water. No fire. What the heck! But not exactly. We were surprised by what Spartan Race had prepared. All I can say was it was way more brutal than running on hilly sides. I was super excited. I never knew what was going to come. It was a 3.71 miles full of bleachers running, Hobie hop on the bleachers(ground and up motion) sandbag carry, 50 crazy heavy-weighted rope jumping with your both legs banded, 25 push ups inside the Giants’ locker room(this was the most awesome part), 25 box jumps, 25 ball slams, the traditional rope climb, cargo net climb, rope crawl instead of barbwire, 8′ wall climb, concrete block lift with 5 burpees and transverse wall. There was no tire-flipping! And of course, 30 burpees for failing an obstacle. In addition, chair side lunges were added. I am not sure of the term but that should be ok. AT&T Park was apparently strict with regard to alcohol and food. Therefore, there was no beer at the end of the race. There were 2 water stations along the course. And the end of the race, bananas and protein bars were almost unlimited. By the gate on or way out was the Core Power protein recovery shake. One of the sponsors. They gave 2 medals at this race. One of them was Giants-inspired medal. What a surprise! I would do more since my aim is to get a triple trifecta for this year.
