For $ 15 I expected the quart of robollita soup I got from them through Good Eggs to be outstanding… it was not. It was very bland; I ended up adding sriracha to give it some flavor. The portions are very small for the price, and if I’m going to be paying more than I usually do for a smaller amount of food it had better be good. I don’t think I’ll order their food again.

The food I’ve eaten from here is usually pretty tasty and the cookies & ice cream sandwiches are spot on. I would definitely recommend this place if you have a sweet tooth! The 3 star review is for the food. I go here on occasion, and it’s fine, but I always feel like I’m spending ALOT of money on a small portion of average food. I’m just a little skeptical of how long the food has been sitting there and I feel like I should be getting more for my money. Will go back occasionally(maybe a few times a year) but it definitely won’t be one of my weekly/monthly rotations.

So this review is not based off the coffee that I got. Coffee was good and the lady who served me was nice. This is about who I think was the main cook and might have been the manager. My wife and I had our dog with us and our dog was being great but saw something and then barked… one…time. A dog that barked? That is sheer madness! Why would a dog do such a thing?! The cook then walked over to us and said to us angrily… «Oh so that’s what barked. I had a knife in my hand and your dog scared me. I could have gotten hurt!» He then stormed off while grumbling things under his breath. This was so ridiculous that at first I thought he was kidding. I quickly learned that he wasn’t kidding at all. Apparently this guy is so on edge that one bark nearly caused him to slice his arm clean off! Okay, all sarcasm aside. I don’t really mind that he addressed our dog barking and that it scared him. Do I think it was a silly battle to choose as our dog was completely silent before and after this single bark? Yes. What really bothered me was how he went about the whole thing. It was completely unproductive to storm over to us and angrily complain about this one bark and then not even tell us what he wished us to do about it. Did he want us to take our dog out? Could we stay and wait for our coffee? I had no idea but all I knew now was all of us felt incredibly awkward. Not the greatest way to make people feel who are checking out your spot for the first time. Part of good customer service knows when to choose their battles. This was far from good customer service. What he could have done was simple walk over and say«Hey, I’m sorry but we really ask people to leave their dogs outside in order to create a great environment for all customers and employees. Would you mind taking your dog outside?» I would have TOTALLY been cool with that. My issue was how a grown man threw a fit, gave no call-to-action for us, and then stormed off. As I said, the coffee was good and I’m sure their food is good too. Unfortunately, good food doesn’t make up for treating your customers like dirt.

I work at DavidsTea two stores over, and it’s so dangerous that this place is here. Their cookies, especially the sand dollars and lavender short bread, are so good. Then there are the ice cream cookie sandwiches. Ugh, I just want all of them! A little pricey but oh so worth it!

After a great experience last year, we returned to Square Meals to cater our annual event for 200 people. We were on a budget, and really appreciated the great food. A number of people said this was our best event ever! Thanks!

Got the spring medley and and veggie bean party and they’re both very good! The woman managing the shop was very kind, and apologized for having me wait even though it’s only been like a minute, and I was still deciding what to get, ha.

I wanted tacos at Nick’s but was short on cash so stumbled upon this café & bakery for a quick lunch. Ordered a lasagna bolognese for my boss and I, and threw in a mint chocolate cookie to snack on. The lasagna was good, but price($ 9.39/piece) could be less expensive. Chocolate mint cookie, though, was pretty good. I’ll probably return, but not on a consistent basis.

So so so so rude. Food is ok but I will never go back after the sheer rudeness the past 3 times.

The customer service here sucks! I walked into the store and got no greeting. Instead I had attitude the entire time I ordered. I asked how does it work because it was my first time here. The guy working with piercings all over his face looked at me like I was crazy for asking. He didn’t even bother explaining. For the amount of money I spent in there. I deserved good customer service. Never coming back! Do yourself a favor and go to Lite Bite in the Marina. Lite Bite understands good customer service.

I waited for almost 40 minutes for a piece of lasagna because they forgot about the food and it burned the first time around. Not the best feeling when you didn’t eat lunch and were starving. The plus is that they gave me a complimentary cookie for the inconvenience.

I gave it a second try today and I would never come back. Food, especially veggies are not fresh. Meat are okay. A little bit pricy for the quality of the food I got.

Food only fair and a bit pricey. Great idea and very clean location. Given time this place should become a huge hit. More thought needs to be given to Pryor who would like to buy meals for the week… and variety.

If you stumbled upon this sign about St. Paddy specials, you would have dashed in to take advantage of this Guiness special drink!

I’ve stopped by for lunch and dinner half a dozen times… The precooked food is good and generally healthy(excluding the baked goods and desserts). The rest is terrible: — The portions are small; if I’m paying $ 15 – 20 for lunch, I expect the container to be more than sparse. — Very expensive — Poor service; incapable of explaining how the pricing works, and no clue what’s actually in the food.

Stopped in after work today and picked up dinner. Roasted chicken with salsa verde was delish! Paired with wild rice and a vegetable medley dinner came to $ 16. It’s pricey — but roasted beets, hello! Very grateful for the hard work that went into preparing great tasting, healthy food. Thank you!

The pre cooked food they offer at their Polk Street location is good, but a bit overpriced. I once spent $ 50 on dinner for two without breaking a sweat. Needless to say, that was the last time I went there on a last minute dash to grab some grub. However, their catering is exceptional. My office was using two catering brokers, ZeroCater and Cater2Me, and neither was really wowing anyone. We decided to try Square Meals one day a week, and they have quickly become our favorite– so much so that we quit Cater2Me and have them cater two days a week. The food is always fresh and healthy(ish), and the Square Meals team is super super responsive to our feedback. We also have some serious food allergies and we’ve never had any close calls like we did with Cater2Me. I wish the food at their Polk storefront was cheaper because their catering had made me a huge fan: D

Alison and the Square Meals team catered my wedding in April. I interviewed a lot of vendors as I managed most of the wedding myself, and of all the people helping us out on the big day, Alison was the most responsive, friendly, flexible and fun to work with. Not to mention the food was fantastic! Our guests had great things to say, especially the vegan ones, for whom they made special dishes at no extra cost. Their service was impeccable, clean up done quickly and thoroughly, and they even threw in a drip coffee bar at the dessert table which was a big hit. Thanks Square Meals, for making our wedding such a wonderful event!

Great experience working with Chef Alison. I was always able to reach her via phone or email to meet my catering needs. She will send you updated invoices to get your order perfect. Our company ordered for about 40 people and her portions are so huge it could have fed 20 more people! The food was extremely tasty(we ordered a variety of 3 different sandwiches and 3 different salads). It was a nice change to ordering through Square Meals because they have a variety of different foods to choose from. Our company usually caters from Specialties and that can be dull sometimes. The delivery was exactly on time and the girl set everything up very nicely. A few hours later a guy came to pick up the platters(nice to not worry about washing them). Highly recommended!

I’ve been getting meals delivered from Square Meals for 2 months now and it’s completely changed my evenings Monday — Thursday. I love the food and I look forward to it being delivered. It’s perfect for someone like me who stays at home during the week and goes out on the weekends. The quality of the food is awesome and the dishes always change. I’ve never experienced anything like it. For someone with a busy work-life schedule in the city I highly recommend giving square meals a try. The price is right, it’s good for you, and it’s way better than anything I would try and cook for myself. They really take care of you. They make the delivery super easy the whole service is just awesome. Try it for a couple weeks and you’ll be hooked!

One of my relatives is now home bound. Square meals is a god send. They deliver free of charge. Their food is delicious, wholesome, diverse, local, and organic when possible. You can order online and arrange to have food delivered 3 days of the week(Mon, Tue, and Thurs). Their meatloaf rocks. If you are a busy person or someone that needs prepared foods delivered: these guys are phenomenal.
