Since this location shares its space with a couple of other businesses, it can get very busy during peak hours, but that still never seems to prevent their staff from pumping out piping hot drinks in a timely manner with a smile on their faces. I like that this location’s staff members are able to multi task, on my last visit it took me a few seconds to gather my cash for payment, so instead of standing around waiting for me, the woman behind the register went off and started assembling my order, and by the time I was ready to pay;my drinks were completed. if you are ever in the area of this one stop shop, pop in and grab a quick coffee, you won’t have to wait long and your early morning sloth body will thank you for it :)

I came inside this Starbucks for the first time today. I’m doing errands with my mom and while she was doing her thing, I stopped by this starbucks. Initially came in and realized that there is a minimal seating selection. 2 high chairs for the small 5 ft long counter, and that’s it. This man took my order and treated me like I was nothing. No hi or anything. Yet after sitting here for a few mins his regulars come in and his whole persona changes. Like thanks. But the filipino barista is really nice and has the decency to ask if everything was okay. My ice white mocha never disappoints no matter which location i go to. I mean it’s just 2 shots espresso, milk & ice. Lol. I asked the filipino barista again if they had any chargers since I noticed they have a powermat where I was sitting at… But then he came and told me that they’re all stolen :(I mean, i can understand because of the location that this place is in but still… Nonetheless this place is mainly for a stop and go type of starbucks run. Not really a place you wanna stay at for more than 15 mins.

Returned today and made an $ 8 purchase. The usual associates that I see in the morning didn’t ask for my ID. Now isn’t that strange?! I did however asked about the ID policy after my transaction went through, the person that helped me said they don’t usually ask for an identification unless it’s a purchase of $ 20 or more. If my card is signed in the back«See ID» then they might ask, but it doesn’t seem like they would resort to that unless it’s a large order. Gotta say, I love the morning crew a lot more. They keep the line moving back, in and out in less than 5 minutes. Maybe I’ll take my afternoon business to Peet’s instead. UPDATE: In case anyone is interested. I looked up forum after forum, many says Visa states a merchant cannot refuse a transaction if the consumer refuses to provide identification. So I am concluding if the transaction amount is not significant, the associate did not have the right to refuse my $ 6 transaction when I didn’t want to provide my ID.

I had a horrible customer service experience today. I ordered a tall chestnut latte and when I was in the store they only had a few customers waiting for their drinks later some other customers came and ordered their drinks as well .i was kinda busy with my phone and I noticed later everybody got their drinks and left then I asked the cashier guy that I ordered tall latte and being waiting almost 15 minutes and everybody got their drinks. He was asking his friend about my latte and I recognized he didn’t even put my order on The line anyways I just asked my money back because had no more time to wait for a latte already been waiting 15MINUTES . Instead of apologize he just told his friend to cancel the order and refund my money. what a great customer service he did today. Btw 5 employees behind the counter and 1 star for each of them to being a very slow barista ! I am never coming to this location again !!!

The Starbucks at 9th and Howard manages to maintain the entire Starbucks feel and look and service, all the while in the same building as a gas station, Burger King and quickie mart. If anyone doubts Starbucks identity, strength and dedication to their brand, this is proof! LOL!

I am still reeling from the anger I felt towards these two people… Traffic was horrible and I needed gas so rather than running out of gas on the bridge I went to the gas station. I filled the tank and thought let me get a cup of coffee at Starbucks and wait a little to let traffic calm down. I ordered my coffee(I am not a fan of Starbucks, prefer Peet’s) and a snack. There was a homeless man going through his bag looking for change, he didn’t realize the coffee prices had gone up, he had $ 2.25. All of a sudden the cranky barista at the register starts yelling at the homeless man, «you can’t be here…»(I am watching quietly). Then another barista comes out from behind the bar and goes and stands next to the man and says, «you can’t do that here». I am still quiet, until the woman next to the homeless guy says, «he wasn’t doing anything»(and leaves), he didn’t ask me for money. The homeless man was very polite, not angry and tries to explain to the barista he was just looking for change in his bag because he didn’t have enough in his pocket. I walked over to the guy behind the counter I said I will pay for his coffee. The guy exploded on me, «no he has to leave, we don’t want those people in here». I said why, what did he do besides look for the change in his bag? Then the guy starts yelling at me, «I got beat up by a homeless person.» I asked was it this particular person who beat you? He seemed stumped by my question, I asked him 3 times. Finally he yells, «you get out too.» I didn’t have my coffee yet, I said I will, as soon as I get a refund. He gave me my refund and said, «get the fuck out.» By this time the other barista had called security on the homeless man. I walked outside got into my car and called customer service and told them what happened. She could not believe what I just told her, she was so upset she got her supervisor, who got the district manager for the store on the phone. I told them I am so angry I was going to call the San Francisco Chronicle and Kron. They asked me to allow them time to find a resolution. I said they had 48 hours if I didn’t hear back I am going to the media. In the meantime the homeless man walked to my car and thanked me for defending him. It was so sad he said please don’t be upset it goes along with be homeless. This man was very well spoken, educated and had lost his job six years ago and couldn’t find anything and ended up on the street. His name is Richard Sandoval, yes he is homeless, he was relatively clean, he didn’t smell like liquor, he was polite and apologetic, which only made me more upset. Because what had just taken place was so unacceptable and beyond believe. Richard was asked to leave, not because he was panhandling, he had money, not because he was unruly or misbehaving or drunk or high, or extremely dirty. He was asked to leave because he is homeless and unfortunately for him because one of the barista’s had been«attacked» by a homeless person. Some San Franciscans like to put themselves on a pedestal above the rest of California as if they are liberal and the most«politically correct». For two gay men to stand in judgement of a homeless man was simply pathetic. Their behavior was hateful, judgmental and disgusting. This is the first time I have ever wished for anyone to lose the job. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity. The neighborhood is «hoodie» so that takes away from the rating. You don’t know if you’re going to trip over a homeless person or get mugged when you step outside with a breakfast bagel in your hand. That’s what I had there the other day and it was pretty bland and uninteresting. The personnel seemed friendly and efficient and there were a lot of them.

I used to start my day there. But the service is so unpredictable that I know longer get coffee! So I guess the one star is for the money in my bank account. I have paid for drinks and not been able to wait for the drink to be prepared. Apparently my 10 minute window is not long enough for them. There was even this one woman that worked there that was passive aggressive and rude.

Friendly staff and efficient service. Work in an office nearby? This is the perfect spot to get something to eat and drink. Starbucks, Burger King, Chevron Gas Station, Convenience Store and a Car Wash all in one stop? Nice! Wi-Fi is attwifi — that is AT&T Wi-Fi. This Starbucks and Burger King have Wi-Fi available so props for this amenity. I do enjoy the music being broadcasted when I walk into Starbucks, some of the music I hear is available on Apple iTunes. Definitely props for this part!

The staff was friendly and the place seemed clean, but I received two grossly undercooked breakfast sandwiches. We tried to eat them but the eggs were cold, the sausage was cold, and the cheese was cold. Now I have to drive back to Sacramento hungry. :(

7:26 Sunday morning, 3 baristas working, only one person ahead of me, nobody behind me. I wanted an iced venti hazelnut macchiato with vanilla soy. Barista #1 said their vanilla soy milk is standard. Really? Do your«health-concious-no-sugar-no-milk» in their coffee know you serve them sweetened vanilla soy milk instead of unsweetened non-flavored soy? While waiting for Barista #2 to finish mixing my drink(what seems to be a chemistry experiment with the amount of time I had been waiting), another customer came. Barista #3 looked up and said, «Oh, god, it’s her again… kill me!» Uhm, really? That’s how you treat an apparently regular customer? Barista #2 finally finished her chemistry project which apparently seems to be my drink. She proudly announced Caramel Macchiato. Uhm, I ordered hazelnut macchiato! She said oh, their the same thing just different sauce. Really? Caramel and Hazelnut are the same thing? Does everybody else know that except for me? Then, she asked, if I wanted her to make my order which was hazelnut. I asked how long it would take and she said it would take the same amount of time as before. So, another 10 minutes? I took the chemistry project, did not cause a scene, and walked out the door. I heard her try to call me back but at that point, I was just really disgusted with the place.

I’ve never given a Starbucks 5 stars before, but I’m giving this one 5 stars so pay close attention. I came across this Starbucks on my way to Costco one day and pulled in the parking lot. Another thing you should know is that this Starbucks is connected to a convenience store — so I went to the convenience store first because I was debating on whether to get coffee or just a beverage. I decided on Starbucks. I absolutely love the male cashier — he was so friendly and upbeat which is a rare find for coffee cashiers(at least the ones I’ve come across). I also like that there is a parking lot AND a restroom! The restroom is located through the convenience store — but it was still a plus for me because I desperately needed to pee. Finally, there is a very cheap car wash in the same parking lot too. Convenience plus great service is why this Starbucks deserves 5 stars.

This is the Starbucks you go to if you are in downtown SF, have a car, and don’t wanna pay for parking on top of what you are already spending for your cup of coffee. This location has a few study tables, but most folks that come to this location get their coffee and go. If you need to fill up your gas tank and get your caffeine fix before sitting through rush hour traffic, stop by here because it’s just a few minutes off the bridge.

Every time I find myself dozing off at my desk, I debate whether I should get a coffee. $ 1.95 for my iced Americano is not a lot to ask for enhanced productivity. I’ve decided, after much scrutiny of their drink-making abilities, that this is where I will spend my coffee funds. I mean, I even signed up for an account with Starbucks online AND I think they are pretty familiar with my face by now. One of the baristas asked me if I got my haircut, for pete’s sake. If anything, the handsome barista — with Buddy Holly-esque glasses, perfectly coiffed hair, and eyes so clear you could gaze into them for eternity — is enough to wake me up. Hellooo murse!

I love Starbucks, anyone who knows me, knows that. However, this location leaves much to be desired. Once you’ve braved the gauntlet outside of crackhead beggars and cigar-puffing cabbies, inside you must deal with some of the most bitter Starbucks employees I’ve ever encountered! Now, please keep in mind I only go here in the evenings, so I can speak to any staff working before about 10 pm… but the evening shift really seem generally unfriendly and uninterested in being there. I rarely get a smile out of them, some don’t say please or thank you. They also try to make it look like they’re closed earlier than they actually close, which is 12 am. Often they’ll move the furniture around or pile the chairs atop the table so as to discourage people from sitting down and drinking their coffee there. To me, that’s bad manners. If you’re open, let people sit. If you don’t like your job, I have plenty of unemployed friends who’d be happy to take your place!!! The two positives: This Starbucks is open until 12 am, so you can get a decent cup of joe after a movie or show. And there’s ample parking, since this is technically located in a small strip mall with a gas station. The major downside: NOBATHROOM! So why do I go here when I complain about it? Well, there’s no other Starbucks open this late on this side of the city. Pure and simple. But please, employees, if you read this, please try to smile for a change?!
