Steven Payne

Steven has been highlighting my hair for many years, and always does a great job. He has a wonderful eye for color, but also listens to me when I want something different. He’s also fun to hang out with, so that doesn’t hurt!

Steven has an impeccable eye for color and hair texture. He’s been coloring my hair for over 6 years and straightening it for the past year. My natural hair is coarse, thick, graying, and very curly. He is able to make it straight and smooth with body (which is unheard of), and the color is always delightful. I get so many compliments on my hair, and prior to coming to Steven, this was never the case. Steven is also a kind, considerate friend who always tries to do the best for anyone he is around. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

Steven has been coloring my hair for a little over a year now, and I am so, so glad I finally found a colorist with talent AND personality!
You can explain the color you want in the vaguest of terms, and somehow Steven gets into your brain and produces exactly what you were looking for. And, he gives great advice on color, and can totally visualize what you would look like with whatever you think you want.
The best part about Steven though is that he is NICE and FUN to hang out with for an hour or two while you are getting your hair done! Even though he is the top colorist at Patrick Evan Salon and probably one of the best in the whole city, there is zero snobbery in his personality… you will want to stay and hang out with him even after he is done making you look fabulous!
