This shop has already CLOSED. I try to avoid places that use processed meats, so I only came here as a last resort(if working late), after 2pm when the other food court shops were closed. Each time I intended to buy something different for variety, but somehow I always end up buying the same thing, a roasted chicken sub and a bag of original SunChips. Service was okay. The first problem with this place and why it went out of business, was lack of foot traffic. This corner spot was too far away from the food court center, so many people weren’t aware it existed. The 2nd problem is that Subway sells franchises like if it were confetti. They don’t care when there are too many shops in certain areas, or that this market saturation will hurt franchisees. Around here, I think that there are 5 Subway locations within 3 or 4 blocks of each other.

I rated this based on comparisons to other Subways. This Subway always honors the national deals, unlike some of the other Subways around the FiDi area. But what really puts this to 4 stars is their service. The people here are just great. They’re very accomodating, friendly, and will give recommendations to how the sandwich can be better, and even reminds you about current deals so you don’t miss out on anything. A++ for them. My go to subway around FiDi.

I show up here between 6:30 — 7:00PM. It closes at 7. Our Scrabble Club meets in the lobby of One Rincon. I never get turned away, but everything is always mostly put in fridges for the night by the time I show up. It’s not a big deal or anything, but just kinda quirky. Other than that, it’s your typical Subway. I think Subway is a bit overpriced in general, but I can actually order a healthy meal on the go, so I guess that’s the price you pay for convenience???

What is there to complain about? You order your sandwich to all your ingredients and fixings, you pay, then leave. Subway is a franchise, so each location has their own different special promos. Overall, they are mainly the same. The customer service is great compared to other locations I’ve been to where the workers look/act like they don’t give a damn but their paycheck. At least here, they are smiling and happy to be working. They always greet you when you walk in. Never had a problem at this location during my visits.

2 ½ stars? Seriously? Come on. How can you go wrong with those $ 5 deals?! I admit, I’m hooked on their $ 5 meals. I usually opt for the $ 5 sandwich + soup combo.(6-inch cold cut or forest ham & cup of soup). Or a 6-inch with a bag of chips and drink. That’s a really good deal if you ask me! The lines here go pretty quick. And the workers are actually nice, which is always a plus. While there is nothing too special to review about on Subway, I definitely think this particular location deserves a bump up in star-ratings!

It’s subway. Nothing here is any different than the other subways I have visited. I’ve always found that this place is consistent though and the employees are nice. People that complain that it takes too long need to stop being so nitpicky with what they want and how they want it. Is how you arrange the pickles that important?

Get there after 12:30(after 1 is better) if you don’t want to wait in the long lunch line. They stopped doing the 6″ sub of the day for $ 2.99 at this one… pretty devastated… Don’t get your sandwich toasted. takes forever … The server’s are friendly and remember people’s names but have trouble understanding what you want sometimes. Still cheap and satisfying tho.

ok so went here for lunch today. I have been here about 20 times or so and every time I go i leave thinking why did I just do that??? the people there dont understand what you are saying you say NOT toasted you get toasted! you say mustard you get mayo! large cup, small cup the list goes on! as per one of my other subway reviews I am very picky out my subway and this one needs MAJOR retraining of the staff and just plain learn to listen to what the customers say! after all there is another subway only 5 mins walk across the street! best to avoid this one unless you want a sub thrown together and with things you DON’T ask for!

It’s a Subway, so I’ll assume you’re already familiar with the menu and pricing. The question is, what makes this one better or worse than average? For here, I’d have to say worse. It’s pretty darn busy between 11 and 2, there’s not many places to sit, and the English comprehension on most of the employees leaves a lot to be desired. Also, I went with my usual footlong club and something about it tasted off. Not quite like pizza(see Jenna’s review), but definitely off. On the plus side, it’s clean.

Admittedly this is a filler review. I’m just writing it so I can include it on my list of SF lunchtime eats. I mean I ate here several times(please forgive me), but who really needs a Subway review? Anyway, there is no seating at this Subway but luckily it’s adjacent to an indoor food court with seating as well as a plaza with outdoor seating. (The plaza is infamous — though you wouldn’t know it by being there — as one of the sites pf carnage during«Bloody Thursday,» a longshoreman strike in 1934 that turned into a riot. Several people were shot by police on this spot. I think there’s a plaque.)

I feel a little embarrassed putting this in writing, but I looooove Subway, especially when my Valpak sends me coupons. Most of the time, however, I don’t even NEED coupons because Subway likes to sell $ 5 footlong subs(unless it’s toasted – you have to pay 43 cents for that luxury). One foot is totally enough to eat half a foot one day and save the other 6″ for lunch the next day, so really, you’re paying $ 2.50(or $ 2.72) for a normal-sized sandwich, and that’s a great deal. Also, since you get get all that stuff on there too, it’s really like you’re getting a wimpy salad for free! Their veggie patties are also really tasty and mysteriously crunchy, but since I can’t figure out what’s inside of them, I do feel a smidge weirded out. My friend Megan says it’s not a good idea to eat food that’s measured in feet, but I think that these sandwiches(and Fruit by the Foot, obviously) are a free pass.

A cheap alternative to eating out is … eating out cheap. I don’t understand food economics, but if it’s anything like Subway’s economics, it can get pretty involved. They have a 6″ «sub of the day,» which is advertised at $ 2.99. Now, if you say yes, you’d like it toasted, you’ll be charged a tax. On Tuesdays and Fridays they have meatball marinara and tuna salad, which is taxed anyway. Decide to «make it a meal» by throwing in a bag of chips and a soft drink, and you’re up to $ 5.37. It’s enough variety to get me out of my office building so I can discover that San Francisco has real sunshine occasionally, and it’s still cheaper than almost any other alternative. Now, if you’re vegetarian, it gets a little more interesting. A «veggie delite,» which is basically a nothing sandwich with everything on it, is still $ 2.99. You can«make any sandwich a salad» for an extra $ 1.30. So a nothing sandwich with everything on it, hold the bread, is $ 4.29. You see, less is more. Go to the salad section of the menu, and you’ll see your price break for a «veggie delite salad» is $ 0.00. I guess that’s a high-end premium plastic plate you’re going to be throwing into their trash can in ten minutes. Yes, there’s a Subway in Rincon Center, and yes, I ate there.

$ 2.99 served with a half-ass smile. I frequent this Subway location for lunch because 1) it’s across the street from my office 2) their $ 2.99 lunch special(yes up from $ 2.49) 3) they toast the sandwiches 4) my income level at this point doesn’t allow me to pay $ 8-$ 10 for a luke warm burrito or hamburger in the cafeteria style lunch spots they have set up in neighboring SOMA office buildings. I honestly do enjoy Subway, lots of veggies and I don’t feel like I need to unbutton my pants or take a nap after lunch. But do I enjoy the toasted subs because I know that I have only spent $ 3 or because I really like the 3 slices of turkey and a pound of pickles and lettuce? Guess I ‘ll never know. That said I still recommend this subway if you’re in the area and are taking food back to the office. Go on a Wednesday, The Club toasted almost tastes like pizza, no joke. Minus 2 stars because they now charge an extra $.24 cents for toasting fees(how ruuuudddee!!)

For a regular at Subway, this particular subway in the heart of the Embarcadero was not too bad. The cheapest food around this area, no doubt! There were about 10 people in line when I went there at 12:10pm but the employees were quick to prepare the sandwiches. I usually order the $ 2.49 today’s special, which changes everyday. The bread is tasty, but feels a bit rushed because of the load of people waiting. The veggies were not fresh. Now that I think about it, they were never fresh or as crisp as the Subway in Daly City. Be forwarned that getting your sandwich toasted could mean that your bread will be burned… I had that happened twice, but for lunch under $ 3, why complain? The place is small and will require a «to-go» mention. You can opt for other places to eat like in the food court in the Rincon center. Overall, 4 star for the place and deal. I’m glad that they don’t charge extra for being in the Embarcedaro area.
