There was only one name above ours on the white board, but profit extraction dictates patrons be cycled through the bar for unwanted drinks. No waiting area for tables helps. Loud music and the projected ball game broadcast lent an unwanted sports bar din atop the cacophony of conversations. I thought dish detergent still coated the cups and asked for glasses only to realize the lemony airfreshener malodor was inherent to the green tea I ordered. Then the food arrived. The salmon kama was deep fried instead of grilled. The unrinsed field greens looked reused.

RIP Sudachi. Got the confirmation it is closed for good… We came around 50 times during the last 3 years. We need to find a new favorite cheap sushi place I guess.

I went by on a Tuesday and they were closed. Sadachi is currently selling groupon deals and apparently they have went out of business. What’s up with that??!

Warning: this place might be closed. They have been boarded up for the last two weeks. I’ve been here a few times for cheap drinks and cheap food to match. With a really wide menu of Korean and Japanese food, the quality is hit or miss, but it does go well with sale bombs. The sushi was pretty good too. The atmosphere is pretty noisy later in the night as people get more rowdy. I’ve had good times here with large groups, hope they aren’t permanently closed!

I really want sudachi to be better! They have great drinks specials and their food always sounds so delish but the execution is always off. I end up always getting the bulgogi tacos because for the price its the best deal. Their other korean/japanese fustion items are always just ok. Lacking in flavors and a bit too expensive. It’s a great spot for cheap drinks although they have been closed for a couple of weeks now with no signage as to when they will re-open. The menu is not up for them at their gated entrance but all their promos on drinks are still written in the windows… Is sudachi closed forever or is it being remodeled? We may never know…

To all my Polk Street drinkers… this is your place! All the bar hopping that you do on Polk Street… is great and all but if you want some serious sake bombs, start here! AND the comfort food is amazing. For actual food and drink quality per se, it might be like 3 stars… but the fact that it is open late and caters to my Japanese food and drink needs at midnight makes this place a 4-star place. The waitresses get super busy because I guess sake bombs and sushi are on everyone’s mind. They also have salmon sashimi and uni(at great prices). Uni is an acquired taste. But man, once you acquire it, beware, you might get addicted! ;)

I feel utterly betrayed by this place. My friends and I used to go here often, taking advantage of the bottomless sakes on Monday nights and the affordable food, but we will never come back again. We came in, twelve people, wanting to celebrate achievements of two of our friends in the group. However, approximately half of us were going to drive home, and didn’t want to participate in the merriment of alcohol indulgence(because we’re responsible like that). They told us that the drinking half of us had to sit in an entirely different part of the restaurant, while the other non-drinking half would be in another location. We had been going to this place for some time, and were baffled. Normally, we’d sit in two different tables with a gap distinguishing the drinkers from the non-drinkers. Apparently, this is no longer the case.(What, you think the forty-something year old guys at our table would desperately try to save a few bucks by sneaking sake glasses from the twenty-somethings?) We left without ordering, vowing not to come back. We said very frankly as we left: «You’re splitting up a celebration. We won’t be back.» You just lost twelve people who used to be fans. Goodbye to you, Sudachi, and your wretched service and gross restrooms. Not even your beef bulgogi burger can redeem you.

Great place for decent sushi and cheapppp sake bombs and drinks. Unfortunately I have to give them 2 stars for lack of good customer service. I had a party of 12 booked for this past Saturday; I made the reservation 1 week ago and didnt get any sort of call or anything to notify me that they would be closed. All my guests were outside waiting for me when I arrived. Decent food. Cheap drinks. Dont bother making reservations in advance.

Disclaimer: I’d normally rate this place 2 – 3 stars for the Bugolgi burgers, fries, calamari, and of course $ 2 sake bombs and fun music but this review is for one of the bartenders. Went to the bar and ordered a total of 3 sake bombs. I put a $ 20 on the table and I noticed the bartender put it in the tip jar. I told him that was my $ 20 for the bill and he insisted that was from his«good friends» that was sitting next to us. He gave in very easily(which is a total red flag he was trying to play me) and gave me my change. My bill was supposed to be $ 6 with $ 14 change. He gave me $ 10. I told him he was short and he went back to the register and gave me the rest. The bartender was Caucasian with brown hair.(I know, description doesn’t really help lol). I left immediately because I was so upset.(What I should have done was spoke to the manager in retrospect). We were hanging out outside and was talking to a girl who was smoking. She also had a similar experience! The same bartender tried to overcharge her as well saying the sake bombs weren’t $ 2. It’s really rude and disrespectful to cheat people out of their money. If you need more money, you work hard for it, not take it from other people. Hope karma gets back to ya, buddy! Everyone else, beware! And in general because I’m sure this happens at a lot of other places too.

YUCK! Just ordered from grubhub and never again. DISGUSTING. Shrimp heads tasted like dirty dishwater, hand rolls never came, salmon kama was totally dry and nasty. I’m sorry but if you like this place you probably enjoy grocery sushi as well

I really want to give this place more stars, but I can hope they are listening. I order in from Grub Hub once a week, spend $ 75 and look forward to a bit of a gorge on sushi. Mostly I am a happy guy, but… Don’t put fried Spider Roll(warm) in the same container as Salmon Roll(cold.) What you get is warm/warm. not good. Otherwise the tartar is pretty damn good, ask for extra chips. I salivate thinking of salmon wrapped asparagus and could eat them until I pee the green Goddess. RECAP: Cold stuff in cold containers and keep the hot stuff away from the cold stuff. With that simple change, I bet they get an extra star. They will from me!

(Food) Came here with a couple friends for the«all you can drink sake» tonight and wow… was that an experience. I only came for the drinks but our table ordered some food as well. Firstly, the food portions are simply awful. It’s almost insulting to say they serve sushi… the rolls are tiny with 5 pieces? Thank goodness I didn’t order anything for myself. The prices are way off but that wasn’t the worst part. (Service) I felt so incredibly bad for the waitress… The whole place was fucking packed and there was only one server! She seemed so stressed and all over the place. I swear I saw her running from one side of the restaurant to another. Can’t understand how the owner could expect one person to serve the whole restaurant. She was also serving the bar which was packed. wtf? I hate places that treat their employees like shit. Wish I could have given the manager a piece of my mind but he wasn’t there… what a surprise lol. Message to Sudachi Management: Fuck you cheap assholes, I hope you run out of business with this joke of a business.

Wow! Major cut back on all portions! Ordered the spicy tuna tempura $ 8.50 and it’s HALF of what it used to be, pretty pathetic serving size. All the rolls we ordered are much smaller; used to be 8 rolls and now they’re 5. WTF! Was also charged for an item that we didn’t order, the waitress was nice enough to remove it. I left hungry. This place has gone down hill. If they’re going to over charge and under serve they need to remodel this place and buy some air freshener.

Whomever is the manager of this place needs to call me ASAP. I just ordered a hefty delivery order which included a fried banana dessert with a side of green tea ice cream. I’ve ordered dessert by delivery from many places and have never had any issues until tonight. I receive a pile of mush(not fried) but a soggy mush of banana in a green tea sauce. Yes folks they actually put my friend bananas in WITH the green tea ice cream and delivered it to me. Worst part was they made me pay $ 6 for it. Other places choose to put their ice cream I separate containers so that it does not melt as fast. I can’t believe I paid for this.

I gave this place a 3 star because I didn“t have much time to see the menu, the waitress keep coming to our table like 4 or 5 times asking if were ready to order. Plus the place isnt pack at all, so why rush the customer? I was pretty amazed with the selection but cuz she rush me I just order a baked roll that she recommended. I did not enjoy it at all. First of all I can tell it was not baked. They just used the burning torch to cook the top part. Thats y it taste like burnt food n the bottom part was cold too. My fren even said it taste bland. However, I did enjoy eating my friend“s «Crazy Roll». It has almost everything. It was also flavorful too. I did enjoy drinking the Mango Sake too. The only reason my friends n I will come back because were satisfy with the bill. It turns out after 5pm til iono 8pm I believe the food are 30 percent off.

Every time I have been here it is a good time! Sake bombs + sushi burrito = bomb… Plus you’re tipsy by the time you get your food, that you wanna eat all your food within 5 minutes! There is also happy hour at special times, the spicy sushi burrito is really good!

Would give this place a 3.5. Went here tonight for dinner to take advantage of the groupon with a friend. Service was so so which docks the .5 — the waitress seemed confused at times and took a bit before she brought our check to us even thought it was clear that we were done eating. We got the following items: Spicy Sashimi Salad — decent amount of Sashimi that comes with it for a $ 10 salad. It did come with orangzes too which I didn’t expect. It was pretty good. They also were accomodating and piut the sauce on the sides Hawaii Roll — falls apart easily but otherwies rather tasty. Decent sized roll but when I tried to pick it up with my chopstick, it feel apart. Heart Roll — pretty good as well. decent size and looked nice presentation wise as well. Chirashi — my friend go tthis. decent size. she said it was ok. Overall, this place is decent and pretty good. Service is so so but there do have a number of rolls for those that are low carb and want actual rolls instead of sashimi and a lot of salad choices. Also happy hour is from 5 – 7 where everything is 30% if you don’t have a groupon

Great seafood and sushi at a decent price. They have giant screens so you can watch games, etc. They are always running deals and happy hour specials. Their menu is not the usual stuff you always see when you go to a sushi restaurant. They have burritos and other items which are quite tasty!

REASONSWHYTHISPLACEISAWESOME: 1) $ 2 sake bombs on a SATURDAYNIGHT 2) Right next to polk street where you can bar hop after 3) Play 90s hip hop music that gets your whole table singing! 4) Good asian fusion food!(such as korean burritos, tacos, quesadillas) Though my personal favorite is the spicy sashimi salad. Spicy pork bulgogi quesadilla was good but too soggy. 5) Big screen TV to watch the game! The 2 times I’ve been here was for friend’s birthday both with about 15 people. It’s the place for big groups birthdays! So come to Sudachi for a crazy, loud, saturday night dinner ;)

While I have been here several times, I have yet to write a review until now. This place is better at night/late night. A solid place to eat and drink before heading out to other bars or you can stay here all night. The bar tender is generous and the prices are decent. Foodwise, I’d stick with the bar-type food. Their quesadilla, fries, burgers and tacos are quite good. The sushi can be unpredictable. There’s been times where I think it’s pretty good and times where I don’t think it’s edible. Don’t order the jap chae.

It’s a decent bar with super cheap drinks, but only drinking a LOT would make this sushi taste good. Most decent sushi restaurants pretty much break even on the food and make the profits off their alcohol, but instead this place aims to do the reverse for some reason. They’ve got some ridiculously low priced drink specials(including all you can drink beer on some nights) and they make up for it by charging ten bucks for some of the crappiest rolls our hero has ever put in his mouth. No, seriously, refrigerated rolls from Mitsuwa are even better than this crap. PROS: — Hella cheap drinks. CONS: — Service is kind of flakey and the sushi chefs seem to really take their sweet time making rolls. — Sushi rolls are very small here and only 5 pieces to a roll. — The rice in their sushi is too«mushy» and wet in texture and doesn’t taste right.

I wouldn’t classify myself as a foodie by any stretch of the word, I am just your normal dude who loves food and appreciates thinking outside the box. To me, sudachi has this down to an art form. The food here is all great, the portions are large, there are drink specials EVERYSINGLEDAYALLNIGHTLONG, the servers are prompt and the music/tv is always on point(if theres a game). In my raging days, this would be a solid pre-game spot before crawling down polk street. Im going to make this very straight forward for you all, and thank me later. ORDERTHESPICYPORKBULGUGIBURRITOANDTHEBANANATEMPURAICECREAM. Straight up out of body experience. I am from Texas and I can appreciate a good burrito, but sudachi got me down to a «wow» factor at first bite and it’s a good time to boot. It may not be Michelin starred but its EASILY in my top 5 restaurants in SF. GAME. OVER. (I need sleep)
