We stumbled out of Golden Gate Park into the Inner Richmond and decided to look up the nearest sushi place on a whim. OHMYGOD. We ordered some nigiri and yes, it is a tad pricey, but you receive HUGE pieces of fish — like, despite my best efforts, I could not have eaten the whole piece in one bite. I ordered the king salmon off the seasonal menu and I think I got high when I ate it. I’m going to dream about this dinner for 6 years. We ordered a caterpillar and a ruby rainbow roll too and they were both good and well portioned. But really. Go. Eat. Nigiri.

This is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant in the city! So fresh and very flavorful. It’s a beautiful place with great customer service and calm atmosphere. I love this place and will rave about it for days. Had the Hawaiian role but honestly all the rolls are amazing.

After a long mixed review, owner kindly replied and explained. Appreciate his commitment towards their customers. I like their food, fishes r always fresh and rolls ajd specials are very creative. Their customer service is most likely friendly. We’ve tried nigiri plates, and fish slices were generous, rice was good.

I basically live at this restaurant. Im genuinely concerned of the mercury level in my body from how often I eat at sushi bistro(because all seafood has trace amounts of mercury)… because their Caucasian Afro, Stinky Salmon, Pepper Poppers, Yellow Tail basil and basically everything is delicious. Their flavor, swag, style or whatever you wish to call it is awesome. Fun but also a chill spot. Love the reggae music! I go here for dinner with my girlfriend or with a large a group of friends, it’s always fun! Service is always fast, friendly and overall great. Shout out to Vince, Dave and Skip. Parking sucks but where in SF does it not?

Nice little place for sushi and such. Has a bit of a bar vibe in there but we loved the sesame chicken & crunchy veggie roll!

OK tried this place by my sister’s place cuz she said that it looks pretty good. Checked on Unilocal and it has pretty good reviews. So checked it out with family and it is pretty good except for the fact that waitress recommended stinky salmon roll and that was yuck. Everything else was delish. We had Afro spider roll, crouching tiger hidden dragon roll, salmon nigiri(must get), uni nigiri(must get), California roll, and nebayaki udon. Told waitress about yucky stinky salmon roll but she basically was like whatever. Oh well, food was good. Just know what not to order.

I would say that Sushi Bistro is my favorite sushi restaurant in SF! I was amazed by the variety they had for veggie sushi rolls and they were all so unique! My boyfriend and I cobbled down two rolls so fast and we were definitely satisfied. We ordered the In the Sun and the Veggie Crunchy Roll. In the Sun was so unique, fresh, and light. I loved the sliced tomatoes on top — it made it look like some authentic seafood sushi. The Crunchy Roll was one of the best Veggie Crunchies I’ve had. I loved the sauce it was served with! We came on a Monday night and the place was still pretty crowded. We were lucky enough to be seated at the bar immediately. The service was good and the rolls came out pretty fast! The only thing is I wish this place was closer to me, but I will venture out again just for this amazing sushi!

I ordered the butterfish blaster since it’s a highlight here. It sounds good, but it’s literally a chunk of imitation crab and avocado wrapped in butterfish. Sushi is getting more expensive in San Francisco and it’s just not worth it. My boyfriend and I walked out here unsatisfied even though the bill was roughly $ 60. They take reservations even if it’s literally an hour before the time. We ordered 3 orders of nigiri and for some reason it came last. Street parking may be difficult during the night.

Delicious vegetarian sushi! They are made with brown rice and are so fresh and yummy. They have about 10 options there. Gluten free if you ask for it without soy sauce or sauces. Worth the wait. Make a reservation first, though. Wait for the Bar is 20 minutes. Just got a bit of attitude from the front desk but they made it ok later. Nice waiter, too.

This is by far one of the best«bang for your buck» sushi spots in San Francisco. The quality of fish is really great and the portions for the nigiri are easily the most generous I’ve seen in my life. I haven’t had a ton of their rolls, but they are always really good and see people enjoying them throughout the restaurant. For me, it’s all about the nigiri. Go To’s: Ikura, Masago, Tobiko, Aji, Maguro They have daily selections which are really unique and worth exploring. My advice would be to do some sort of omakase as the chef always knows best. Right? It’s worth the trip to the Inner Richmond for those of you who don’t live in the neighborhood. You’ll be impressed.

Sushi Bistro is probably not the best place to manifest simple authentic sushi. There are other spots in the city that are better suited for that. That being said — if you’re craving unique playful sushi, or the not so healthy variety of hearty tempura filled rolls — Sushi Bistro is on point. Sushi Bistro’s menu is impressive and diverse. It’s a great spot to cater to people who are a little apprehensive about sushi — or those who are looking for quality vegan or vegetarian rolls. I like to order Sushi Bistro through a delivery app and I’m always satisfied. In the past I’ve ordered the African Spider Roll, The Solistice Lettuce Wrap, the Crunchy Veggie Roll and the Butterfish Blasters. The Butterfish Blasters — didn’t travel well during delivery — but I imagine they would be a fantastic appetizer if you eat them fresh at Sushi Bistro. Sushi Bistro isn’t cheap — but if you plan ahead and order wisely — it’s a solid spot for a satisfying and enjoyable sushi experience. Trust.

This place is delicious! Ambiance: Very cute and not too crowded. A variety of people– in jeans and converse, dressed up nice– you can make it whatever you want. Service– Amazing service. Everyone was very fast and attentive. After ordering our drinks, I wanted to switch tables because I was cold by the window, and they gladly helped us move. Drinks– I got the cabernet, which was really good and not ridiculously expensive($ 8 for a glass) Food– The butterfish/avocado roll-up under«something unique» was SO good. I would give that 4.5÷5(only because the butterfish was cooked and I think I like raw butterfish better). For rolls, we got the Red Devil which was really good!!! I would say 5⁄5. We also got the M&L roll. I liked it but the cajun albacore was kind of weird. I would give it 3.5÷5, but my date probably would say 5⁄5. Overall– Will definitely be coming back!

I’m torn between giving this place a solid three stars as in my opinion, only one dish that we ordered for dinner hit the mark. Our family had been wanting to try this place for some time based on the 4 star Unilocal reviews and recently decided to give it a go. Like other Unilocalsters have mentioned in their posts, this place can best be descrbed as hip with a certain upbeat vibe. Having made reservations, we were immediately seated by the host who may have been one of the mangers and he described the specials in detail that were on their«specials» list. Unfortunately, we were missing one individual in our party who was parking the car even though he knew there would be four people dining. It would have been nice if he had waited until everyone was seated. Like Añu P stated, our party might have had the same non-smiling female server as when my wife asked what was popular regarding the sushi rolls, she could have done a better job of recommending some based on asking what our tastes were like. We ordered the Butterfish Blaster which is a SB Favorite and our party agreed that this was pretty good if you like seared fish. African Spider was nothing special as was the Monter in Law. Two of us ordered udon of which I had the Nabeyaki which was pretty good with the only exception being that the tempura was presented in the broth at the time of service which meant part of the pieces were already soggy by the time I pulled it out of the soup. A better way would have been to present the tempura on a separate plate. Final rating is 2.5 stars for this lackluster dining experience.

I must disclose first that I’m not a huge fish fan, nor a big sushi fan at that. BUT when I do go to sushi with all of my sushi-loving friends or boyfriend, along with every other person in this city, I push to go to Sushi Bistro. I love their vegetarian rolls, beer, service, and fun atmosphere while sitting at the bar. My go-to is the avo cucumber roll with brown rice(another point for having brown rice!), miso soup, and/or chicken teriyaki. So vanilla, I know.

Took the bf here for his birthday dinner — we both loved it! Ambiance: Lively and fun energy. We saw people in jeans, on date nights, and everything in between. Service: Extremely fast. Our rolls came out before we finished our edamame and since we ordered so much… dining disaster on our tiny table for 2. Our waitress wasn’t the nicest(no smiles, small talk or recs), but she was quick, refilled our waters etc. Food: Being a vegetarian, I’m always on the hunt for good veggie sushi. Sushi Bistro kills it with unique combinations and flavors. No avo-cucumber rolls here, folks. I got 2 vegetarian rolls(a little ambitious): Notorious VEG(fuji apple, inari, cucumber topped with avocado served with ponzu) and In the Sun(avocado, cucumber and mango wrapped in soy paper topped with thin sliced tomato). Both were fantastic — generous servings of avocado and since we were celebrating, I had them use the white instead of the typical brown rice they put on veggie rolls. This might be why some of the sushi was not as put together as usual when I picked it up but didn’t matter much. Pricing: Extremely affordable. We paid about $ 80 for 4 rolls(2 of those were veggie), edamame, plate of inari(highly recommend), a beer and a lemonade. We had enough for a late night snack with how much we ordered — the rolls are definitely not small. Verdict: Our new favorite sushi spot!

YUMMY sushi rolls! Special rolls are a tad bit pricey(NYC pricey) but I was full off one roll so I guess it wasn’t too bad we sat at the tiny bar in the very back since it was just the two of us —Crouching tiger hidden dragon roll: mmm eel and shrimp tempura in one! —Dragon roll: just as you’d expect NOTE: Parking was hard to find on the street around here late at night, we had to circle a few times before we lucked out on a spot

This restaurant was a great place for a spontaneous dinner. We waited about only 10 minutes before getting seated at the bar. My friend and I came at around 7PM and it was already crowded. Parking wasn’t too bad, but I heard it could be a nightmare. We got lucky. The restaurant layout was very spacious and very well decorated. I loved the décor. The staff was also courteous with questions and was prompt with our orders. No issues with customer service. I got the Dinner: Chicken Teriyaki with steamed vegetables. This entrée took awhile to prepare. The chicken wasn’t too tender, unfortunately. I think it was breast meat. The teriyaki sauce was also a bit overwhelming. I wouldn’t order this again. I ordered Crunchy($ 9.99), which was a regular classic roll and not a Signature Bistro Roll. This was definitely delicious and not too bad for the price. This is a safe order. If I come here again, I’ll try one of their Signatures next time. My friend order a sashimi bowl and he loved it. They were also flexible with the fish cuts too, which was awesome. Overall, I would come here again. Like all sushi places in SF, you’ll probably put a dent in your wallet when you dine here.

After a long search for baked sushi, I finally found what I needed in Sushi Bistro! I reserved a table for us on a Wednesday night at 7:45 and it was still packed! Good thing we arrived around 7:20 and checked in. We were able to be seated at roughly around our reservation time. We squeezed into a tight table that brought us closer to our neighbors than to one another and panned the extensive menu. We were greeted by an amazing waitress that seemed a little flustered with the busy night. We asked for recommendations but she was speaking so fast that we had no idea what she was saying… But no worries! I did research! I read that their African Spider Roll was pretty popular so of course that was going to be on our list! We also ordered the M&L and started with the gyoza. The gyoza was quite small, but it’s an appetizer after all. It was sadly lacking the crunch though. The M&L was a huge roll! I had to split it in two in order to finish it whole. I felt like the fish was a bit over cooked inside, but the spicy tuna was great and definitely gave this roll a kick. Lastly, the African Spider Roll was definitely more exotic than rolls I’ve ever seen and rolled in the perfect bite size. I would recommend to make reservations before going and trying anything that you’ve never had before because I’m sure you can find it here!
