A combo plate of fried rice or chow mein + 2 other dishes for $ 4.25? You can’t get that real meal deal at even fast food places. The quality of their food is still very good for the excelsior neighborhood. They’re not the«Wing Lee» of clement st,” but for a cheap(fill your tummy) decent abc chinese meal, Sweet delight fills it. I give it a 4 because the lady owner is very nice, works hard to make quality meals even while working hard to provide bargain meals. The lady owner is very courteous and attentive. I went to get some tea for my mom at the coffee/tea area and she was there to remind me gently & kindly to be careful of the hot water that was REALLYHOT used for tea at the machine’s red spout. I was there last week on a weekday before noon and lots of neighborhood people swarmed the eatery. There are no waiters so expect to go up to the front and wait in a long line of customers to order your meal and/or dim sum. It’s small, communal — there are 3 large tables that can seat about 6 people each. There’s a bathroom. They have an atm but i’ve never used it. Most people take their food to go. They have the common dim sum 3 for about $ 2(egg rolls, shrimp & chives dumplings, potstickers, bbq pork buns, sesame balls). I again ordered their combo meal with a fried rice, another dish which had very large pieces of meat in a sweet sauce and sweet & sour pork.(there were a lot of other selections like fried chicken, string beans, soup, stew, etc.) I felt so full afterwards with still more food left on my plate. My sister orders from here all the time during small parties or events where she’ll buy a trayful of fried chicken and other foods to take home. 2 ways to have the lady owner smile at you — Don’t put any tissues or paper in their toilet or it will jam. Clean after yourself and throw away your finished meal and return the tray. They do not accept cc so make sure you have cash. If you’re not in the excelsior neighborhood, there are lots of other places to go for cheap ABC chinese food that even deliver, but if you’re ever in the excelsior neighborhood & want cheap/filling/fast/take out or dine in, save yourself some money and come here.

I have been here three times now. They offer a cheap two-item rice combination box for a little over $ 5. The fried rice tastes very good. My favorite entrees are the kung pao chicken and the tofu. The chicken is spicy and packs a big punch. The tofu is so soft and silken. Both are great choices and will fill you up until dinner time. I tried the orange chicken last time and that was a huge mistake, lowering a possible 5 star to a 4 star rating. The orange chicken tasted really off. It was overly saucy, cold, and more dry than you can imagine. It was a big let down. In conclusion, I would come back again to try their other food.

One of the worst asian bakery I have been to… If I can give this place zero or negative stars, I would. I came here early in the morning to get an egg and ham bun and they told me they had some availible. The lady helping me went to the back and I waited about 5 mins. She gave me my order and I looked at it. I told the lady helping me that this was not what I wanted and she told me it was a new«innovated» take on the egg and ham bun. She said she was the wife of the establishment and it was going to be good… well no, no it was not good, it was a sad disappointment… I gave them a call an to my surprise a male picked up. I told him what had happened and he apologize and said it was all a misunderstanding with what had happened. He told me to come back to try it again. I’m not sure if I will but maybe oneday I will give this place another try. I do not recommend this place but if you want to try it, please go do. Just don’t have high espectations.

Small, hole-in-the-wall family owned Chinese fast food/take out restaurant. Great price for the big portions, you cannot get a better deal on Chinese food anywhere else in the area. The two-item special is less than $ 5. Been coming here for years, delicious dim-sum and bao. They do big orders as well, many people like to order trays of food(chow mien and dim sum are the most popular) for family parties. Support local, family owned businesses!

Best steamed buns(4 stars!) in this neighborhood. Really good quality bao, even though this area only has a few Chinese shops. The flavor and consistency of the bun’s dough is excellent. I reheat them in my microwave for just 1 minute, and comes out steaming hot. In my opinion, Wing Lee Bakery(on Clement at 6th Ave.) has the best steamed buns(bao) takeout in SF. The round bun with a reddish dot on top is filled with chicken, the pointy bun with a scar on top is filled with cabbage and pork(all items under $ 1 each). The rest of the warmer tray foods and dim sum are just average, so 3 stars overall. Although, the breaded and deep fried fish fillets are pretty good when freshly made. In my experience, service has always been friendly. Note: there’s a 2012 silly review ranting about a piece of woodear mushroom inside a bun, which the Unilocaler confuses for a piece of rubber. I wish Unilocal had a «waste of time» button, to mark ignorant reviews. So far, I haven’t encountered any foreign objects in the food. But once a chicken bun I got had half as much filling. Probably the last bun of a batch when they ran out of filling. No big deal. Cash only.

My favorite Chinese dim sum place between Geneva and Silver! Dim sum and buns are average priced. Porridge on the other hand, is extremely reasonable! $ 3 for a large?! Yes, please! All for siu mai is good. My friend looooves their beef sui mai. I like their«shark fin» sui mai too but the dough can be a little bit hard on the top where they pinched it sealed. The filling is crunchy! Their chicken big bun is good too but a little bit too much bun for me — but the filling oh my god, it was so amazingly good! The only item I didn’t love that I’ve tried here is the pineapple bun. It’s average. Better than its immediate competitors in the area but if you want some REAL good pineapple bun, you have to go all the way to Mission and Geneva. The service can be much slower than other dim sum bakeries though. They have two staff working in the front but I still find my wait longer than 5 minutes sometimes. Hopefully they’ll improve and be more time efficient because I love this place!

It isn’t actually super cheap. With reviews so high I almost though that the taste would be closer to a cheap sit down dim sum restaurant without the sit down, which is exactly what we wanted. When we got there, i have to be honest, I thought the service a little curt. After we got all our food, we ate in. The ambiance is nothing to rave about but never mind that I am here for good food without needing to deal up with a lot of social interaction! Food was lukewarm, at its warmest. All the dumplings skin was doughy and hard, not a good look for any dumpling… We aren’t tempted to go back but if you are in a real jam and in need for some dim sum I guess it is passable?

I can’t understand how this is four-star with reviews all over the place. I REALLY wanted to like this place but am struggling to say anything positive other than it’s cheap. Maybe we stopped in on an off hour? Pork Siu Mai is average at best. Both the Beef Noodle Roll and Shrimp Dumpling is bland and the wrap is way too thick and chewy. Tried both steam and baked cha siu bao. This was the only thing worth getting… and will only go back if walking by. Would rather drive out to the Avenues for a good bao. To say their dim sum is average would be a compliment. Totally forgettable.

Extremely surprised that the dim sum is this good! Nevrr would think a place in the outer mission would sell good to go dim sum. The pork snd beef sui mai is bettrr than most dim sum restaurants. Its not greasy or fatty at all. And the price is awsome. Most of their dim sum are only 1.70 per order! Hells yeah! They do sell baked goods(meh!!!). I’d just stick with da dim sum. Noticed I knocked off a star…

The food is cheap and good. Sometimes I just don’t want to deal with dim sum restaurants and this is a good pick up spot that can feed two people under ten dollars. Sweet Chinese women also serve you, and not the pushy kind. :)

Saturday morning, came here to pick up some dimsum. There were no lines. Just like a typical dimsum place. The dimsum is eh… I ordered almost 3 of every type of steamed dumpling on the board and a baked BBQ bun. BBQ bun: the filling was nice and juicy but the bread tasted like cardboard. Dimsum: the lady forgot about my siu mais and gave me two serving of the shrimp dumping. All the dumplings with the clear wrap were okay. The wrap was a little thick and there were not enough fillings in my opinion. I did, however, enjoy their rice noodle(chrung fun) with beef even though I had to re microwave it cause it was cold. It was okay for cheap dimsum but not likely to come back.

Who knew there was such a thing as delivery dim sum? Ok, I’m done dealing w/the sat/sun morning Good Luck Dim Sum lines on Clement now that I’ve discovered Sweet Delight. They may not be the fastest delivery in town, but the owner who makes the deliveries is the nicest food delivery guy I’ve met! The yum cha menu, while not fancy or extensive, has all the basics & of good quality! I knew they’ve been around a long when I saw that the char siu bow was old school(a good thing) round top! The har gow is great.

CHEAP good eats. Dont go here for the atmosphere. Best to take it to go. Early Sunday mornings this place is the best in the area.(also the only place, but even if there was competition this is still the best place) Dim Sum especially Pork Shumai is delicious. Jook is hot and excellent. Egg Flower soup Excellent. Fried chicken wings/fried pork chops are tasty.

Coming here is always a pleasure, because this place means a lot to me since I was very little. My grandma would always come here to buy dimsum. They’ve been in business for several years now, and the food still taste just as good, as it was back when this local mum-and-pop store was very small and starting out. The people there that do business with you are really friendly. The prices for their foods are unbeatable compared to other dimsum places around. TAKE-OUTOPTIONAVAILABLE: They also have take-out food too, like porridge, tofu, chow-mein, stir fry veggies. I notice that a lot of people like the 4.95 lunch combo deal! The portions are very well worth it! Also: A box of $ 3 chow-mein already fills the chinese take-out boxes! $ 5 chow-mein is already enough for two to three people and fills up those plastic take-out boxes! Very traditional with their breads & dim sum.(Pork bun, chicken bun, vegetable bun, bun with sausage, sticky rice in lotus leaf, etc.) I’d only come here for the cheap dimsum and chinese take-out foods. I’m a regular here and I buy their breads & dimsum for take-out. However, if you’re ready for round two and is craving for yummy pastries, there’s also another new pastry place around there called«Good Orchard Bakery», that offers a variety of pastries(sponge roll creamed filled cakes(one of my favs), chocolate cookies, cakes, etc.) I’ve never tried their dim sum there before, but I overheard from customers ordering dim sum from them too.

I love this place. The soups and dim sum are great. You could easily walk out with 2 bags of great food for $ 10.00.

It’s a great neighborhood spot for cheap eats. I get their pork shu mai when I can. Their combo meals are good too. The portion sizes are good enough for two people. It’s also close to public transportation that you run in grab your food and go.

I totally disagree with lola. The food is amazing. My mother would always take me to chinatown and to get the best out of things she bought we had to go to three or four different stores. The food is totally amazing. Theres a large variety and for someone who isnt favourable to coconut, boy do i love those coconut buns they have. Totally worth my 70 cents. Ive gone to a couple of these places and they usually ask for a bun for 99 cents. Unless you want to go to chinatown for a cheaper price. I just got my self three orders of dumplings, 2 shrimp orders and one chicken order. I also got the chicken porriage and 2 coconut buns as ive said before and a pork bun. Before i went to get those frozen shrimp dumplings and the taste isnt nearly as good. Even sometimes smaller. Go here! You will love it. Its conveinent and everyone is nice! They are fast and everytime I go in, they are always busy. In the chinese culture, that means a place is excellent!

I was looking for a place to get some dim sum, that didn’t require me to drive from my home to Chinatown or the Sunset. I found this place on Unilocal, and had to try it. The siu mai, har gow, and shark fin were alright. But what I really liked was the steamed noodle rolls. Not a lot of fast food dim sum places have the noodle rolls, and often times I don’t like them. All the other dim sum items might be good at places like Good Luck Dim Sum on Clement, but their steamed noodle rolls suck. Sweet Delight has em super long, with decent filling size, and they’re tasty. I especially like the shrimp and the bbq pork. Yummy! And even though I don’t care for the other dim sum items, they are still very cheap and good enough for me to eat. I’m coming back, mainly for the steamed noodle rolls!

Sweet Delight Bakery has the dim sum and steam table precooked foods in front. the pastries and buns are out of sight in the racks against the wall. eats: pork siu mai, shrimp dumplings(3/1.7) shrimp dumpling –semi mushy, semi crunchy, no shrimp taste, wrapping not too thick pork siu mai –sweet tasting, tender meat, loaded with msg. takeouts: –msg aftertaste. –no natural tastes. –pricier than chinatown –lunch specials(4.95?) a better deal. –semifast, friendly service –cash only?

See attached photos!!! Take a look at that black thing. What do you think it is? If you’re guessing a piece of rubber, then you are correct! I couldn’t believe I found this in my steamed bbq pork bun! I took it out and felt it just to make sure and I was right. Why is there rubber in your food?!! It looked like it was cut up with the meat because it formed a circle when I took it out and was missing a part.(I probably disgested it, yuck!!) I was so disgusted! I’ve been coming here for a few years because I loved these buns and the plain ones but now I don’t know if I’ll be back. They’re really good for their price and I’ve never had any issues until now.(Well except for when they’ve lied to me saying they sold out of plain steamed buns when I saw more after buying 3 with my sister –____-)
