This is my absolute favorite spot to get good, authentic, Argentine food. They have everything from empanadas, traditional sandwiches(i.e. lomitos, sandwiches de milanga and more…), and MEAT, lots of meat options and if you have at least three people, I highly recommend the parrillada which is a good combo of different meat cuts, including chorizo and morcilla. Overall really good food, prices are very reasonable, and the owners are super friendly. My Argentine husband and I come here quite often for lunch and we love it.

Excellent place to taste the argentine cuisine. If you’re around Pier 39 and want to try the best of Argentina, go to Tanguito! The owners, Steven & Betina are great people, so friendly and nice. If you’re argentine, feeling a little bit homesick, go to Tanguito, they’ll make you feel at home while you enjoy the best food!

Best steak sandwich ever, this place is soooo good. The chimichurri is to die for! The people here are so nice too, they always go above and beyond!

Yum empanadas! They’re different than Mexican or Filipino empanadas and oh so yummy. Thin crust, lots of meat. Had the beef and chicken empanada and that was enough for lunch. There was a little bit of a wait so we went to the Bear Ice Cream place next door and a coworker ordered ice cream and cookies while we waited. Coworker ordered the milanese napolitano(sp?) and it seemed pricey for a food truck at $ 15, but hey, to each his own. He seemed to enjoy it.

Food was good but the owner has no common sense. My friends and I ordered our food and we were told they didn’t have french fries to go with my friend’s burger. After ordering our food, my friend bought french fries around the corner from Cod Mother Fish and Chips. Fast forward to our meal, in the middle of our meal, Tangito’s owner interrupted our meal by saying, «outside food is not allowed here» referring to Cod Mother’s french fries. The owner’s statement is valid and makes sense BUT we were eating food we ordered from Tangito except for the fries. We ignored him and proceeded with our lunch because he didn’t make sense. A couple of minutes later, he came out again and told us to put the fries away. I’ll give his business 5 stars for the food and I’ll give him an invisible –5 stars for lack of professionalism, lack of good manners, and lack of common sense.

Had a really bad experience there. First, I ordered just a hamburger and it took more than 15 minutes to come out, even though there were only 2 occupied tables, including mine. Second, the hamburger want really that good — it was over done in my opinion(WD) and had a pile of cooked vegetables in it(bell peppers, onions, mushrooms) that made it very soggy. But to top all of this up, a few hours after eating there I started feeling something wrong with my stomach and… well you can guess the rest. I’ll definitely won’t go back there and won’t recommend this place to anyone.

Food truck with outdoor seating. My husband is allergic to sea food(staying at Fisherman ward) so we were very happy to find this little Argentina gem. Ordering was simple and the gentlemen in the truck were friendly. We ordered chicken and rice which came with plantains and pork ribs with plantains. They did not have enough pork ribs so the owner asked if we would like to add any other meat … We added steak. The food was delicious and the portion size was huge!!! You will not leave hungry. The only down side is that they do not come and check on you once the food us delivered. That’s why I only gave 4 stars.

You must eat here when you’re in SF!!! bwe were walking and I wasn’t wanting a clam chowder or shrimp. We found this truck and we were so glad that we did!!! We got the empanadas, beef short ribs, and burger. The empanadas were delicious. We got the beef and chicken ones. I wish I ordered more! My ribs were ! The garlic fries Were hot and plentiful. The burger was huge and meaty with peppers and onions! I would love to come back here next time. Bring cash! They don’t take card. Don’t jeopardize your culinary time!

Stopped in while walking through the area. Menu had a pretty good selection and we ordered the plantains. The service from the staff in the food truck wasn’t that great, the woman wasn’t that pleasant. We waited a while for the plantains and while we waited we did chat with a gentleman from Argentina, I believe he has an interest in the restaurant or maybe works there. He was great, very personable, and we had a nice chat. The plantains were delicious, just ripe enough, and the flavor was great.

Stop by for a quick snack We shared 3 Enpanadas Ham & Cheese, Chicken, and Beef By far the ham & cheese was the winner. The chicken was flavorful too and we weren’t fans of the beef.

Came here because of the good reviews. We ordered the skirt steak and the ribs with fries. I wasn’t impressed. The skirt steak had good flavor but was it super oily and was sitting in a pool of oil. I got tired of eating it half way through. The ribs were okay and a little less oily. Overall I think I’d rather have eaten somewhere else. I might come back again to try the other things on the menu.

Run, don’t walk to this amazing permanent food truck in San Fran. Holy cow, I am in love and can’t wait to return. Check out my photos for the most up to date menu. Also CASH only, don’t forget! We wanted to get the meat plate but it’s for 3 and we didn’t bring enough cash. Luckily we both wanted the skirt steak which worked out great. They offered to cook up one piece for us to split, which I highly recommend! It came out on a wooden cutting board which felt authentic and delicious. No plastic bowls for us. :) We also picked up garlic fries and plantains, best two decisions after agreeing to one steak. The plantains were phenomenal. Crispy, tasty and soft all at the same time. The garlic fries were addicting, and not as strong as you might fear. The seating is outdoor only and I didn’t see wine or beer, so suck it up and enjoy the water or sodas from the truck. Or ask to go(but have a big knife on hand if you get the skirt steak).

Food truck turned permanent fixture at the wharf. Wife has been craving empanadas for months. And after our last visit out here, as I ate horrible seafood pasta, I noticed this place on Unilocal. To say that this was the highlight of our New Year’s Eve would not be far from the truth. We ordered one of each empanada they had… Beef, ham and cheese, cheese and corn, and onion and cheese. Sadly they were out of chicken. Each one was fluffy and full of flavor. The kids loved the beef while the wife and I loved the onion and cheese. The beef itself was amazing… But the onion and cheese edged to the top. Now when you take a bite of each you actually divide an atom or by zero because it’s the perfect bite. Why you no make onion beef and cheese… Challenge! We will be coming back I am sure.

Food — very good! Service — almost none! Still worth to make the trip Had the spanish tortilla and steak n rice. Spanish tortilla is very interesting, tasty but not so special. Love the steak and rice! Tender meat and saffron rice.

Comimos empanadas, choripan y hamburguesa.

I had two interactions with a female staff member here; that’s two opportunities to be polite, make a good impression, even secure repeat business. I’m so incensed by her nerve to throw attitude at a customer, I’m deducting one star for each incident. The first — when we placed our order for parrillada(a gigantic meat platter for 3, $ 45), she, obviously annoyed, huffed & puffed, consulted with her cooks, before returning to the window with an eye-roll & a «okay we can do it.» Wait, it’s on your menu, why are you pissed that we ordered it? Second offense — she was irritated that we asked for a to-go container, but was infuriated that we needed two. She chided me, «That’s why it says no to-go!» Calm down, Lady, we ate as much as we could«here»(made a pretty good dent) but we sure as hell aren’t throwing away the rest. See pic, the portion is big, even for FIVE people. Food review: – beef empanadas($ 4) ground beef was flavorful & salted nicely, shell was quite bland & too doughy in some places. – parrillada came with 6 meats, with the skirt steak being the best because of its rich flavor & abundant char. Chicken was second best, moist & smokey. Filet was flavorless & dry. Sausage was fatty but palatable. Short ribs were chewy & disgusting. Pork rib was forgettable(I literally cannot remember if I enjoyed it.) I might’ve given them 3.5 stars rounded up to 4(you know how I do), but that woman’s blatant disregard for customer service & basic human decency is inexcusable. I get it, lucky them, their truck is located at the(touristy) Wharf so they don’t need my business to survive. But unlucky for them, I’m a bitchass(but fair) Unilocaler who eats & tells. Cash only.

Amazing Argentinian food, particularly sandwiches made with amazing rolls! They also offer at the tables, in addition to some hot sauces and more ordinary American condiments, some homemade sauces, including an avocado/garlic sauce, that are quite amazing! I ate late lunches and early dinners here five times during a recent stay in SF, sometimes alone, and sometimes accompanied by my adorable Russian friend Tonya. Each meal that I/we had was truly amazing. The food was so good that I/we often ordered extra food items as take-out food to bring back to our hotel room and put in the fridge for later use. The menu offerings cover a wide range, but we almost always stuck to sandwiches. The sandwiches are soo good that my friend Tonya invariably moaned in pure joy for at least an hour after we had finished eating and had left the picnic tables in the covered seating area in the food truck’s courtyard. This fine stationary food truck/food stand is a one-of-a-kind gem. I(sometimes accompanied by my friend Tonya) made it a point to eat a number of meals here after having discovered this fine eatery early in my 8-day stay in SF. BTW, the staffers at this stationary food truck/food stand are quite friendly and helpful. And the courtyard, packed with picnic-style benches and a few round tables, feels very warm and friendly. My very favorite sandwich was the Argentinian Italian sausage with peppers and onions sandwich. It also quickly became my friend Tonya’s favorite sandwich, to the point that whenever I bought extra sandwiches of this type to take back to our hotel room and put in the fridge for later use, she would invariably raid the fridge two hours later and wolf down the entire sandwich, leaving not even one crumb for me! I found her obsession with the food from this fine Argentinian restaurant to be quite amusing! BTW, I also tried the meat empanadas once or twice, but I ultimately always returned to the Argentinian Italian sausage with onions and pepper sandwich as my most favorite food item! I feel very fortunate to have discovered this fine eatery!

tldr: 3 stars. pork ribs+garlic fries. no flavor. I was hoping this place would be one of my favorite spots in the city on first impression because I am a sucker for outdoors-y/picnic-y style of dining. However, after trying the food, I wasn’t so impressed. I got the pork ribs with garlic fries. The portion was pretty good, they give you a lot of fries. Those pork ribs were very tender, but unfortunately, no flavor at all. And for the GARLIC fries, it was probably the worst garlic fries I have had to this day. Again, no flavor. Not even a little bit of garlic flavor. I probably won’t be back unless a friend wants to go. Maybe I will try the empanadas next time, if I do happen to come by.

This place had a bit of a line when we got here but I can see why now. The food is amazing. I got the paella, which was a decent size and really good. My boyfriend got the skirt steak, which I tried and it was awesome. We split the beef empanada, which were alright(I’m used to fried ones, these were baked which is actually way healthier for you). The garlic fries that came with the skirt steak was really good also. The prices are quite reasonable for what you get. Only gripe is later when we went back to try and get some soda, they made us stand there and wait so long because they were prepping food. When all we wanted to buy was more drinks. Then a huge line formed behind us. Also, the seating area is a little dirty. The tables don’t get wiped down right away. But what can you do? It’s a food truck style! I wouldn’t mind going back if I’m ever in town again.

8÷1÷15: Happened across this place by accident, but it appears to be somewhat of a landmark, and even has a tripadvisor sign and other impressive postings displayed! Well, we only got one thing, and it might be that everything else is amazing, but our empanada wasn’t that great… 1. Spinach Empanada $ 3.75: I probably should have known better cause I could tell just looking at them from through the glass that the crust would suck since they’re whitish and have very little coloring, meaning probably not baked well. But hey, my gf really wanted one. Anyway, sure enough, the crust was the complete opposite of buttery, very plain and underseasoned, and raw on the inside. Yuck. I personally did like the stuffing though which was very cheesy, with nicely not overdone-and-mushy spinach, and some other textures as well. But the gf thought the abundance of cheese was gross. Guess you can’t win. But either way, that crust was a failure. Do not get their empanadas. 3⁄10. I really want to come back for that burger everyone’s raving about. But for now, based on that one item(and a little benefit-of-the-doubt)… 3⁄5 #argentinean #empanada

Why 3 stars? Because everything was fairly dry and flavorless. — — — I sadly have to downgrade my previous review. On a return trip, I took some family and a friend, and after hyping Tanguito up, we were all pretty disappointed. Everyone’s order was dry and there was very little flavor to any of the meat. Only one person out of 5 in our party enjoyed his meal, and the rest of us all agreed that it was the worst dining experience of our trip to SF. The people here are incredibly lovely, so I hate to disparage them any further. I’d come back again, hoping that my last visit was an outlier.
