I agree with some of the other reviews on this site. I visited this art gallery in st. helena, the most condescending person working there. Asking simple questions about the art and for prices, I was told«since you are not serious, I have already spent too much time with you» and proceeded to walk away. He spent about 3 – 5 minutes answering questions about prices. Would stay away.

Huge Dr. Seuss fan here and happen to walk by while hanging out in the city! So we checked it out! Lots of cool interesting pieces and if we found something for our boys room we would of purchased it. You can purchase pieces with or without frame. I was looking for more of the quote pieces I love but it was still awesome to see original work from Dr. Seuss. Toni working at the gallery was so nice and friendly. She was open to answer any questions and didnt have a snobby attitude. Defin come check it out if your a huge Doc fan!

Such a cool hidden gem in SF! Right by Union Square but totally hidden if you aren’t looking for it. I would definitely recommend visiting this teeny art gallery with the whole family!

Well, what can you say, everybody loves Dr. Seuss. So this place was kind of an easy win for themselves, ya know. But, for real, we saw some really neato pieces that we’ve never seen before. Of course, there were tons of Whos, and Grinches, and cats in hats o’plenty, but the rare little treats were more our speed. Staff was informative and cheerful, which are rarities in the gallery scene.

Love Dr. Seuss, and love the pieces in this gallery. Theodore Geisel is unique and amazing, and this place is a great spot to let your childhood imagination fly.

Dr. Seuss — aka, Theodore Geisel — was a genius, and his art is brilliant. Anything created by this man will *always* get 5 stars from me. But this is not a review of Dr. Seuss; this is a review of the gallery selling his works. From the moment we walked in, the man running this gallery was so condescending that it made my toes curl. He appears to have the(regrettably not unique) gift of making visitors feel small and insignificant. I asked questions about the art — as one does in an art gallery — and was rewarded not by answers, but by snotty questions like, «Do you even HAVE an art collection?» Not only was he unfriendly and unwelcoming, he also managed to be completely unhelpful. Much of the art mounted on the walls isn’t labeled(title OR price) — so if you’d like to learn about the pieces — and they’re wonderful! — I suggest reading about them online or in a book before going into the store. No customer enjoys the condescension or pretension of a wanna-be-art-snob. I think I saw The Cat in the Hat flip him the bird before I walked out the door.

We found this place COMPLETELY by accident. We were on our way down to Fisherman’s Wharf and I saw some of the art from outside. I thought I would pop in just to see what was around. I had NO idea at all that the art was Dr. Seuss! The best part of this gallery was one of the women running it. It was clear based on our appearance that we were not going to buy any of this expensive art. YET… she spent so much time talking to us about all the pieces and the history of Dr. Seuss. I learned SO much from her. For example, I learned about his secret lair of art that his wife didn’t even know about until the time of his death. I was also able to see a lot of his political cartoons. I had no idea how much his pieces were worth(super pricey, but makes sense). There are tons of pieces inside that you would recognize(e.g., Green Eggs & Ham). There are also quite a few pieces that may surprise you. I would highly recommend stopping in. My visit here has even fostered a desire to possibly own one of his works of art someday. Absolutely loved our visit and would highly recommend it.

Ventured in with friends, both young and old, as we were all intrigued by the«Art of Dr. Seuss» sign. I was impressed with how much they have fit in such a small space. The gallery guy was very nice and volunteered lots of interesting information, without being overwhelming. I especially liked the unorthodox taxidermy. I can’t believe I didn’t realize the extent of Theodor Geisel’s work. Definitely worth a few minutes while in the neighborhood.

* I’m back!!! Apologies to all my good friends on Unilocal that I temporarily lost touch with. The past couple weeks have been extremely crazy thanks to work and my father’s dementia. He had two 911 ambulance calls and one police pickup(again!) in the same week. Hoping to be Unilocaling a lot more as things calm down and life and time permits. Tons of amazing reviews currently in draft form coming soon! (I will remove this little note from my review in the next day or so) Walking down Geary street the other night, I was surprised to find a window filled with the most joyous paintings and sculptures of Dr. Seuss. The store wasn’t even open at the time since it was late night, but I made a mental note to come back again in the daytime. Popped in a day or two later and wow, what a find! This gallery carries nothing but the art of Dr. Seuss. I absolutely loved all the crazy sculptures and wall hangings based on the creatures created by the artist. The paintings were really great as well. Walking around this small gallery, I felt like a kid in a candy store and just couldn’t stop smiling. The guy working the gallery, Jason, was really nice and extremely knowledgeable and well-informed about the art and the artist. I thought the prices were really reasonable too. As always, the heart was willing, the wallet was not. If I ever win the lottery, I could go crazy in here since there’s so many amazing pieces that I found myself enchanted with. A store dedicated to the secret art of Dr. Seuss? Ya gotta love it!!!
