The Carpet Depot Cleaning

I’m not sure what happened, I thought I read a decent Unilocal review on these guys, but I must have clicked on the wrong link.
Total scam. Quoted me one (reasonable) price, then showed up and said, «Oh, this is really dirty, you need the chemical treatment» which cost twice as much. I imagine this is par for the course for this industry, but i can’t wait for these guys to go out of business.
Did a decent jobs with the rugs once they were done.

This place. Wow. First, they came late, then what I was quoted for one couch was $ 129. So the tech didn’t want to steam clean my couch pillows or the back rest pillows. Only the part you sit on? I asked why and he said that it was because they can get mildewed. It was the exact same as the back rest part of the couch. I had him do it anyway and I washed the pillows myself.
The couch was extremely dirty by the looks of the water. I asked if he was going to go back over it again and he said no. It needed it! It’s still filthy! After he left, I looked at the signed reciet and I saw that he added an extra $ 20 bucks on there. I called the company and asked, Why. The lady said that she will have the tech call me and explain. They never did.
So here is the big banger…
They charged my car 2x for $ 149 which put me in the hole. I called and they admitted it was their mistake. They told me that they would refund my card. Needless to say, they never did and I just got off the phone with the bank and filed a claim. If it wasn’t for my bank account being very low I don’t know if I would of caught this!
This is VERY BAD BUSINESS!!!
Just rent your own steam cleaner and you will be much happier.

If there was less than one star that is what I would give The Carpet Depot.
Never, and I repeat, never use this cleaning service. They are horrible, rude, unprofessional, and all around bad. We used them once in January and they were late. We were at home for the entire time window waiting and then we got a late call saying the tech could not find us. Our apartment was not hard to find.
We desperately needed a carpet cleaning in a new apartment in April and booked with them again. Could they really be late on us twice? So my boyfriend took off work and went home to wait for them between a one hour time window. Again, they were 20 minutes late. They had the audacity to blame me for the traffic coming from the Presidio and the construction that was «covering the town». I told the tech we were very unhappy and expected some sort of a discount. The tech said he could not honor a discount. I told him to wait downstairs and my boyfriend would come out to meet him and talk about it.
My boyfriend went downstairs and the truck was no where to be seen. He and I both called the 1 – 800 number to talk to the very rude woman who works the phones there. She told my bf that I told the tech to leave which is false. I then called her to find out what was going on and she went off on me. Completely unprofessional. You should never yell at your customers. She said that she didn’t need us as they know lots of people and they don’t need our business.
These people are always late and will yell at you. They have no customer service skills and I am surprised they are even in business. There are so many other carpet cleaners in this city that will treat you better than Carpet Depot.

I was quoted a prIce of $ 49.99 for two rooms and a hallway. I should have asked what that meant before I scheduled them to come to my home. I was told when they arrived that it was not the cost for 3 area rugs I had — one in my dining room, the other in the hall and the other in the office. The rate for cleaning them was going to be upwards to $ 300. The $ 49.99 I assumed was for wall to wall and only steam cleaned. I had Healthy Choice last time and they cleaned that same area for $ 150 and thus Carpet Depot was willing to honor this. They did the work and in the process blew the fuse in my bathroom because they use a machine in your home as opposed to a machine in their van using a generator. I feel that they miss represented themselves to be able to arrive in my home and then sell me on a higher priced service. I was sorry to have used them!
