Was one of the only resteraunts serving food late in the area, open until 2am. The crispy wings were very good and the pulled pork sandwich tasted great — if you’re in the mood for some solid food and a beer, it’s a good choice.

This place has gone downhill since The Pringles guy left this joint. I had the fish and chips special. Fish is rubbery. Just awful!

First time visiting the pub burger is awesome. I would definitely recommend it. I’m not from San Francisco so I don’t come here alot too bad I am working or else I would have a beer everything looks good I’ll definitely come back when I get another fare.

The Pub has a bad combination of food quality to price ratio and overall service. It’s overpriced generic food that takes 25+ minutes to receive after ordering. I understanding if you’re eating on campus at UCSF Mission Bay, you’re expecting to dine on site because of convenience of location, but this isn’t the place to do it. I would recommend walking 2 minutes to the strip of smaller restaurants located on Gene Friend Way to have a better meal that’ll cost you less. You’ll have a more diverse spread of food to choose from, better cost, better quality of food, and better service.

I wanted to cut the place some slack but after the undercooked shrimp kabobs I received with some rude customer service from one of the cashiers and the lady cooking the food, umm NO. I see why a few co-workers of mine warned me about this place. Also it seems that flies have taken up residency within the salt shakers, yuck!

I would give them zero stars if I could. I brought my 5 and 8 year old here to eat. They were hungry, it was lunch time and this was the only place around. Their daily special was a chicken quesadilla, I asked them if I could get cheese since they don’t like chicken. The lady told me no since the food is premade and just heated. I then asked if they had pizza/flatbread. She said yes, so I asked for a cheese flat bread. She started rolling her eyes and said they don’t have that but they had a cheese and tomato one. I asked her if they can just make it without tomatoes. Reluctantly she asked someone in the kitchen if they could make it but he said no. Then she started fidgeting with her register. After a minute I told her to forget it. I’ll just pay for the kids drinks and take them elsewhere to get food. Then she started rolling her eyes even more and says even after we made a special request for you… She didn’t even let me know they’re able to make it now. She then asks me what I want for my side since it comes with a side salad or fries. I ask her if the salad is Caesar, she said no so then I said okay I’ll just get a side of fries and order another fries. Paid for my food and left. Sat down. The waitress brought the specially made cheese flatbread with a side salad. I told her I asked for fries and she told me the flatbread doesn’t come with fries only salad. Needless to say I’m never coming here again. Worst customer service ever.

burger was such a disappointment… overcooked, smelled like old pickles, terrible fries… terrible…the garlic aioli was just plain mayonnaise… sad…but it gets a star because I’m not hungry anymore… just terrible

The only experience I have at The Pub has been for breakfast. They have breakfast sandwiches. I love breakfast sandwiches. Breakfast sandwiches are my jam. They use a panini press to get the bagel crispy. Two thumbs up. Coffee is okay and service is slow.

If you’re around UCSF mission bay and wanna grab a breakfast or lunch, you’ll like it here. Their western chicken sandwich is so great! The atmosphere and outside seats are cool.

Sometimes you need a beer at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. The pub will provide. I tried their vegetarian sandwich and fries. Surprisingly great sandwich, heavy on the spinach — exactly the way I like it. The fries tasted like refried frozen fries, which was to be expected; they were totally devoured. This spot’s also a nice place to study. :)

Love having this great spot on campus. The food is from the chef of the conference center and I am pretty impressed with everything I’ve tried. Nothing elaborate, but good food at a decent price.

I use to go to the Pub because it´s the closest place from my office. But the food is not very tasted and expensive for what is it. The think that I really appreciate is that they have the coffee and tea from Peets :) There is no discount for UCSF members and I think it’s unfair.

WHYDOESITTAKES20MINUTESFOR2ORDERSOFSWEETPOTATOFRIES?! WHYYY? Meh, just another option in the food desert that is mission bay. I’ll stop by on occasion to get a prepackage sushi. For $ 5.50, it gets the job done and less than the average $ 8-$ 10 you spend in this area for lunch. Service is so SLOW though…

The Pub is located on the gorgeous UCSF Mission Bay Campus. It’s kind of an inconvenient location for anyone other than UCSF employees or visitors, but is one of the brighter spots on a somewhat barren campus. You can come here for happy hours, sandwiches, and snacks and choose to eat inside, outside, or in the building. It’s more of a simple café with nothing spectacular, but will satisfy your needs. I often come here for happy hour with co-workers and the drinks are all a dollar off before 7 pm, Mon-Fri.

I was there with a big group of friends after a long workout. It was 20 minutes BEFORE brunch ended and the waitress gave us the lunch menus. We asked her for the brunch menus, but she said that brunch was over. We reminded her that brunch ended at 1pm, so she tried to appease us and said that she would go in the kitchen to see if the chef already packed all the brunch food. She literally walked in – then out – of the kitchen and said that the brunch food was all packed up and the chef was only cooking lunch. The manager was of no help either. I ordered the truffle mac and cheese which lacked flavor and was extra greasy. I sampled other peoples food, such as the Tommy Tots and Jambalaya. they were both ok. What knocks this rating down was not so much the food, which was so-so, but the experience with the waitress and the manager of the joint. If brunch ends at 1pm and we were there at 12:40pm, then the chef should be able to make us some brunch. The other was the reluctance of the waitress to give us the brunch menus, which was completely ridiculous.

Ski-lodge quality food… but why would you expect anything better? This place is the«easy out» … bankable fried stuff, nothing innovative, and I would venture most everything delivered frozen or canned off a SYSCO Systems truck. Located smack-dab in the middle of a conference center, most people are TRAPPED here without many choices. This place is centrally located and most likely only survives because it has a clueless and captive audience. They’re either presenting a paper from out of town and don’t know any better, don’t have enough time to go anywhere else and are just happy to be let out of the lab for 15 minutes, or don’t have a car and can’t drive anywhere. Taxis are a rarity in Mission Bay, unless you call one yourself! HOWEVER, you think with all the brilliant scientists and hoi polloi strutting around at UCSF the population would demand actual fresh, thoughtfully prepared and healthy food. I’m picturing a little Italian café with made-on-site pasta, farmers market fresh arugula salads and Blue-Bottle lattes. Honestly, the entire Mission Bay campus/area is such a quagmire to me. You’ve got this theoretically intelligent, educated, and monied clientele, who are defacto STRANDED and/or crunched for time. WHYARETHERENOFREAKINGGOODPLACESTOEAT??? Anyways, The Pub is fine. My beer was cold, that was nice. But the nachos had cheese that comes out of a pump from a can(E-Z cheeze?) and canned, flavorless, not-even spicy jalapenos. The sweet potato fries weren’t horrible. Like I said, it’s a notch above fast-food; ski lodge caliber stuff(and just as overpriced). All in all, I just wish somewhere with decent chow would open up around here for all the days I am trapped in the food desert that is Mission Bay!

Good food. Big TV. Beer on campus! I stopped by for a quick bite after completing an experiment at Genentech Hall. If I actually worked or did research here, I’m sure anything I did would be alcohol skewed because of this place. I walked in and saw that it was a set up more like a small cafeteria or deli. Very clean, with a big probably 50″ TV overhead playing the Giants game.(Lots of people would pass by, look at the Dodgers killing the Giants, and walk away in disgust.) There was a refrigerated section with sandwiches, salads, and things like Chicken Tikka Masala. I took a look at the appetizer menu and went with the sliders(two mini burgers with cheddar cheese and the usual fixings, plus fried onions) and a pint of Sierra Nevada. They don’t have a WIDE selection of beers on tap here, but they have basics– Sam Adams, Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada, Stella Artois, Anchor Steam, and a Sam Adams seasonal. They also had a few bottled options, as well as a small wine selection. I sat down at the«bar» area and started watching the game. My sliders came very quickly. They were great! They were juicy and full of flavor, served on a higher than usual quality bun(not standard mini sesame type), but what really set it off was the fried onions. The salty and crispy added great flavor and texture to the burgers. Good stuff. My total bill came out to only a little over ten bucks. Freakin awesome for a snack and a beer. Unfortunately since it’s a cafeteria style pay when you order type of thing, I realized later I forgot to tip. =/Whoops. I will definitely be back if I’m ever on the Mission Bay Campus again.
