My go-to spot before any Giants game. Not sure about the new name or ownership, but I’ll definitely have to check it out. It’s got a great location. Very close to the ballpark. Make sure to drop by for some good eats and strong drinks before any Giants game with a group of friends. Plenty of televisions inside, too!

We were in SF on a massive fabric shopping trip, and stopped in for some much needed R&R and a cocktail. Fun, fabulous bartender greeted us and set us up with some fantastic whiskey. Very knowledgable about what they had to offer. Reasonable. Would love to come back and try the pub food another day. Definately on the return list!

This place holds a special place in my heart because it’s where I have been meeting my uncle before Giants games since I turned 21. He gets tickets to about 10 games a year and always brings me to at least two and this is our go-to place before we enter. Why else do I like it do ask? Well, one, it’s an Irish pub and I’m half Irish. Is it the most authentic Irish pub ever, no, but it’s across the street from the best ballpark in the world so who cares. Two, their beers aren’t $ 9 like they are at the park(not that my uncle lets me pay for them. Apparently I’m still a child and don’t have money). Three, they have pub food so if you go on a non-game day you might actually get to sit down and eat some! My last trip here was before the day game on 4th of July at about 11am. My friend and I jokingly said we should get a beer but felt bad about it because it was so early, so I looked to see if it was past 5pm in Ireland and it was so we decided it would be ok. The service was quick and we left happy because it was one less beer we would have to buy at the game. From my many experiences here the staff has always been quick and attentive even on busy game days which is awesome because we are usually in a bit of a rush. The only downside is that they are super slow during the off-season so you don’t get the same vibe. I just can’t wait for April so I can go again!!! Go Giants!

Decent happy hour $ 4 beers! It wasn’t that packed on a Wednesday night, but I would definitely give it another shot on one of their busier nights.

This is by far one of my favorite places to visit after the Giants game. They have great beer choices and I always enjoy the music(every time I go, there has been a ton of Irish tunes, which I dig). It can get a bit crowded and rather quickly, so I would advise leaving the game or wherever you are early to claim a seat at the bar. I love the feel of the bar and décor. Everyone is always friendly and ready to have a good time. I don’t mind the prices either. The only thing I would suggest is for them to fix the bathroom door. The last few times I was there it didn’t have a lock –_–

Hot and funny waitresses, heavily-poured drinks, lots of tv’s, and tasty tacos! Looks like a total dive from the outside, but clean and comfy ^_^ So this is a place I avoid on baseball days because it is packed wall-to-wall, but on all other days, it is a great place to hang out and have some drinks. The bar is large and horeshoe-shaped, so don’t be surprised if the bartender is hiding on the other side — it might take a minute for them to get to you, but then they’re quick and nice. There are also nooks and booths if you have a group(wait, not everyone drinks alone!?). Drinks are cheap compared to the rest of the city — $ 5 for my Jack ‘n diet — and the food is both delicious and cheap. $ 5 gets you 3 tasty tacos or 3 big bbq pork sliders(though my bf thinks they’re too sweet). I have yet to try the burgers, though they look great, and loved the grilled cheese when I wanted comfort food. Thursday nights are Pub Trivia, which is fun if you bring a friend(or know everything about everything… I stunk at pop music but my bf saved the day with sports knowledge). There’s an electronic jukebox if you aren’t feeling the music — I’ve been here when people have played hard rock as well as 5 Britney Spears songs in a row. The attitude is always relaxed, but it’s a mixed bag. I’m a big fan.

After reading other Unilocalers’ reviews, this seems like a place that’s only good for baseball related things. We came in here hungry(starving) after an unexpectedly long CalTrain ride and wanted to just chillax with a beer and some form of nourishment before the long trek to the Ferry Building. Eh. The bartender only addressed my fiancé, and then gave me a glance or two. She was chatting it up with the other patrons, regulars I assume, which is okay I guess. What was NOT okay was the illegal heavy pour of Bacardi Rum in a patron’s fast food soft drink container. Really? Do you not see me glaring at you? Maybe it’s because I’m in public health, but I expect a bartender to have slightly more social responsiblity than this. Our food was good — typical bar food. We had the blue cheese buffalo chicken sliders. Decently fried, perhaps slightly overfried, but it’s a bar and I can’t expect much. There were also a bunch of flies swarming over a few tables. There was also a sketchy patron that couldn’t stop staring at us. **Edit 9⁄27 — Upping a star due to the owner personally contacting me and expressing interest in addressing my concerns. We’ll try you guys out again :) **

Probably the of the best club sandwich in my life! Not bad for a bar. The food was great and the has a great atmosphere because I was surrounded by Giants fans! :D Not to mention the drink are at a reasonable price! Also the bacon was just amazing. They know how to cook their bacon!!!

Somewhere to go after the Giants game, nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately they stop serving food pretty early(8pm?). Some screens to catch sports highlights. Don’t recall it being very cheap, but what do you expect? Bartenders were nice and helpful, though.

Come here after a game! In my first review I wrote how its a nice, calm, quiet Irish pub *I’m using an Irish accent in my head as I write this* where you can come and enjoy a properly pulled pint. …Not after a GIANTSGAME! Talk about massive panda-monium. People come streaming into this place to get lit-up, especially after a win! I came in and it felt almost like a bar in Vegas. Just crowded and everyone was in crazy celebration mode. Drinks were a bit expensive. A jack n’ coke was $ 8 and most beers ordered were tall cans of Budweiser *just like the Irish would*. Now I’m just being snooty. But either way its a friggin party after a game. If youre not into being open with the people around you and just want a nice calm drink this is definitely not the place for you… after a game. I’m down.

Hmm I just saw the special up there. $ 3 beers from 4−7pm? I could have sworn I went in during those hours and my beer was $ 6. Staff, please explain! Anyhow, I was going to write a decent review but now I’m hesitant. I came here before a Giants game on a Friday. The crowd was great and there’s a bunch of seats everywhere. Most people are here pregaming before the game, and it clears out after that.

The food here is okay and there is plenty of seating. I’ve only been here for trivia night on Thursdays(during non-Giants games) but its pretty fun. 6 rounds of trivia and you can have as little or as many people on your team. We always win(hah!) and we get a $ 30 bar tab for our next visit. The are also very many other chances to win free stuff, free pints, etc. I suggest coming with a group and getting some good drinks. The staff is friendly and the food is descent. I recommend getting the burgers or the buffalo wings. I also tried the shepards pie, but wasn’t really my thing.

Who wouldn’t want to drown their sorrows in bacon after your team just got spanked by the Reds, 10 – 2 :( Libations to mask the last 3 hours spent at the game, we sauntered over to O’Niell’s. I almost always judge a place one of two things; their bacon or their ranch. And let me tell you, the bacon in their BLT was on point. There wasn’t much fat, it was crispy, yet slightly chewy. I could go on and on, but I’ll spare you. The yummy fries were an added bonus, perfectly crispy, yet not drenched in grease. My love for this place was met with the décor of two of my favorite pastimes: Soccer & The Giants. I’m sure it would have been much more crowded if the outcome of the game was a W, but it made it much more enjoyable to hang out after the game. Loss be damned, we still enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, food, and good time(minus watching USA get beat by Panama… yeah, Panama!)…

This place stinks. Literally. I came in here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch and was hit with the stench of wet bar rags and bleach. Why 4 stars then? Because the food and service was excellent! One of my friends just came here from Ireland and after looking at the menu, decided on the shepherd’s pie — the only real Irish dish on there. She loved it and said it tasted just like the stuff at home. We got the potato wedges that were smothered with cheese, bacon and sour cream. The portion was kind of small — I could’ve probably eaten the whole thing myself and we were sharing with 4 people. I got the BLT — pretty standard. My other friend got the Brendan’s BBQ Burger and he loved it. The sandwiches and burgers come with a side of fries which were really good. Not too greasy either. I would avoid this place during Giants games. Our server was great but then again we were the only ones there.

Came here for St. Patricks day celebration yesterday. Bouncers were very diligent in checking on IDs for sure. I took 3 phone calls outside and all 3 times he checked my ID before allowing me to get back into the bar. The service was terrific. The waitress wad super friendly and speedy on their service despite the busy HH and St. Patricks day celebration.

I feel like you are the Irish Bar of my friend’s dreams. Um… Asian girls pouring stiff ones at an Irish Pub? Enough said. Mix in some pub food. Yea. No wonder this was his birthday bar of choice. Came here for a Unilocal Pub Crawl, not bad. The new Bling technology was super cool, and they poured a good Jameson.

Although O’Neils has some good points to it, it’s probably my least favorite bar to come to in this neighborhood. The location is great, it’s right around the corner from the Ball Park. It’s large, but it can be overcrowded with drunken sports fans that normally would be kicked out of SOMA’s nicer sports bars. I usually come for a quick drink before going into the game, but came here to watch one of the Playoff games. It was packed and rowdy and people were getting overly drunk. The games are exciting, so the fans were a little pumped up. Things were going pretty well until a few guys started getting out of hand, small fight broke out and I was pushed out of my seat into other people. I had to leave right then. Not into that scene. It was very upsetting for me. I missed the rest of the game and the Giants lost. I probably won’t be back, because I actually like to watch the game and not the animals. I’ll go to the zoo for that. GOGIANTS!

This is a great spot! My buddy and I came last night with some new friends we made at the Giant’s game… it was a great time. We sat at a little table by the window and engaged in laughter, good conversation, and delicious Stella. I very much enjoyed myself. Bonus points for the friendly staff– 100% awesome!

— — — – This review is when the SF Giant’s play — — — – O’neill’s is ALWAYS a pretty popular and lively spot for casual fans given the close proximity to the ballpark during game. But also with casual fans, you can also get some of the related tom-douchery that goes along with it. I’m not going to get into details but c’mon bouncers at an «Irish» pub? I guess someone has to chaperon. Even though the bartenders are efficient, I prefer Zeke’s around the corner for the sporty vibe of true fans when going to a Giant’s game.

A word of advice if you’re planning to pregame before the Giants’ game here. GETHEREEARLY. I mean, early, like at 3:30. Because around 4:30 the most obnoxious Giants fans start showing up and this place gets PACKED. We stayed at our seat at the bar until it got unbearable and they grabbed a bite to eat down the street before we headed into the park. The service, I have to say, was pretty good. I was a bit annoyed that they were out of 2 of their 8 or 10 beers on tap. The restroom was one of the cleanest bar bathrooms I’ve ever been in, granted I went in there before the huge rush of assholes came in.
