Walking along the pier and seeking dinner, we figured we would grab something close to Ghirardelli(we wanted sundaes) and found The Pub! Great view, friendly staff, and close to the little beach off of the pier. San Francisco is not known for good BBQ but we wanted to give it a try anyway. Curious and usually always down to try anything on the menu, we opted for the BBQ combo plate with choice of three meats and three sides + a beer on the side. Beer wise, they have a chill selection. Their cocktail menu actually looks really awesome(cucumber infused gin?) but I was in the mood for beer for my meal. Meats wise, they have five to choose from and 10+ for their sides. Our server helped guide us and so we chose: Meats: 1. Pot Roast — Many have told us that this is prepared the same way as their brisket which sold out. Tender, meaty, and good but heavy to eat with each bite. 2. Pulled Pork — Good flavor and tender meat but the oiliest and saltiest of the three and my least favorite. 3. Ribs — The BEST choice of the three. Juicy and flavorful in the right way where the seasonings add more to the base flavor of the actual meat instead of overpowering it. Probably one of the best ribs I’ve ever had, actually. The BBQ sauce that comes with the entire dish went well with these ribs and only these ribs compared to the other two meats which were already pretty seasoned. Sides: 1. Mac & Cheese — Not juicy cheesy to my liking. 2. Collard Greens — Good flavor, I just liked having it as a side to everything. 3. Baked Beans — Good, but I don’t think I’m a fan of baked beans. **Cornbread is an option as a side, but the combo plate comes with two cornbread pieces already. Unless you’re a cornbread lover, I would skip choosing cornbread. The dish overall was not the best, in my opinion, but it provides the most options. I give a 4 star rating for the hospitality and the ribs because they were simply that good! I would want to come back to try their brisket, their coffee burger, and their cocktails!

Delicious! Everything had a bit of heat to it. The BBQ sauce on the pulled pork sandwich was spicy. The chili was spicy but really good! Definitely will be back!

Food was DELICIOUS… HORRIBLESERVICE. Waits rest was no where to be found ever. My boyfriend tried telling me it was busy but NO! we arrived before 5 other tables. Drinks took 10+ mins. It took about another 10 mins for the waitress to take our order first course took 20 mins and then waited another 30 mins for the entrée… Literally took a FULLHOUR to get main course… The«puréed mushroom soup» had no flavor. There was no salt at the table. As well as the fried chicken the meat was flavorless. But a salty breaded outside. The corn bread was amazing as well as the Mac and cheese. Cool little place probably will never come back but hey it was food.

Food is pretty good… Tommy tots are weird at first but taste is kind of addicting. Taste good with some beer! Had sliders also and those were alright. Nothing too special but not bad at all! Place is nice, clean, very modern and nice view outside! Friendly waiters and fast service!

Finding a place in San Francisco that can seat and serve nearly 100 people without being a full banquet hall isn’t the easiest thing, but that was what my husband and I needed to do for our out-of-towners’ welcome dinner the night before our wedding(a family tradition). We called around to quite a few restaurants and clubs to get cost estimates. Most of them offered what felt to us like a vague lowball estimate.(«It costs this much per person, plus drinks, plus taxes, plus fees, plus …») We were concerned that all the little bits were bound to add up and end up costing us quite a bit more than expected. Then we got the estimate from the Pub. Of all the venues, they were the only one to give us a complete cost breakdown and total(including taxes and gratuity) ahead of time. It was for an evening of passed hors-d’oeuvres as opposed to a sit-down meal, but we liked the idea of a more casual event before the formal wedding. Scott, the owner, was a dream to work with. He was very enthusiastic and accommodating. No pork or shellfish for my kosher relatives? No problem. Vegan options to accommodate the best man and a couple others? Done. Dessert? How do assorted mini cheesecakes sound? The night of the party, they surprised us by adding a few complimentary hors-d’oeuvre options to what we had ordered. And when they found out how much I liked their tommy tots, they made up a platter of those as well! They even put together a to-go package for my brother to take to his pregnant wife, whose plane was coming in late that night. Thanks to Scott and the staff at the Pub, we pulled off a successful evening that everyone had fun at. We couldn’t have asked for better!

I visited here while staying in the wharf. I highly recommend the Brooklyn sliders and chili mac and cheese – filling and delicious! The service was quick, though not as attentive if you’re sitting outside. The prices are reasonable for the area and the portion you receive.

This place was packed! We came on a Saturday late afternoon. We only had to wait for 5 minutes but had we had more than 2 people in our party it would have been longer. The atmosphere was good — a little louder because of the sports going on. We shared the BBQ combo plate with brisket and ribs, mac n cheese and brussel sprouts with bacon. Everything was AMAZING! We chowed it down and the one combo was enough for the two of us — we were stuffed because we at it ALL! Will come back when we are in town again!

The service was great even though we received three drinks(which we paid for) despite only ordering two. The food was also good. The aesthetics are seriously on point though. Major props to the designer and interior decorator. Great vibe and atmosphere. It’s definitely the kind of place I’d go to to hang out with friends for a few hours. Tips: There’s always free parking close by at night. And as everyone has noted, they’re open till 1:30am every day!

My little family of 3 stopped here for my son’s birthday. Staying about a mile away, my 9 year old wanted ribs, and I found The Pub online. It was raining, but we still decided to walk there. Once we arrived, we were wet and a little tired. The waiter was very nice, though we probably looked like drowned rats(or just annoying, soaked tourists). But he treated us well nonetheless. I told him it was my son’s bday, and he immediately told my son«happy bday», asking how old he was and so on. I always find it special when someone gives my boy the attention he deserves, instead of just ignoring him because he’s a kid. My son is an old soul, and really appreciated the waiter speaking with him. On to the food. My son ordered the ribs, with mac and cheese plus french fries as his sides. He was extremely happy with everything, and wouldn’t shut up about the mac and cheese. I ordered the sliders, and they were UNBELIEVABLE! Get the ones that have the same ingredients as a big mac, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. I also got the jalapeño poppers. They were restaurant quality, and I was quite impressed with the flavor. My wife didn’t order any food, but we both ordered drinks. I got«The Old San Francisco». It had just the right amount of whiskey, and one was enough to get me a little tipsy. My wife, on the other hand, got the drink called«Alcatraz Is Burning». It had a jalapeño in it, was over the top hot, and tasted like jalapeño juice with liquor. Disgusting. But I don’t gig The Pub on that, because my wife always orders random things. Anyways, to top it all off, the waiter brought my son a free slice of cheesecake for his bday. It was delicious, and my son enjoyed it. This place gets 5 stars because they treated my son like a king, and the food was exceptional. Prices were moderate, and not unexpected. I recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I had a business lunch meeting here last week and over-all it was a great experience. I would go back and I would recommend to a friend. Food: DELICIOUS — 5 stars I had a Gucci Burger(beef, white cheddar, braised mushroom, caramelized onion, a truffle sauce on an egg bun). It was delicious! I also ordered a bowl of the soup of the day(Kale crème?.. or was it broccoli? Soup was pretty good too. Employees: FANTASTIC — 5 stars I appreciated the friendly service. Each employee I interacted with was great. Environment: GOOD — 4 stars The view was overlooking the bay. You could see Alcatraz and sail ships from your seat. The music was a bit louder than I would have liked for a place just opening for lunch. The tables, bar, décor, etc was spot on for a classy pub Customer Service Policies: OKAY — 3 stars I didn’t care too much for the policies.(1) I asked to substitute my side of fries or salad for a bowl and pay a premium of the difference, the server said he would get back to me. After asking the manager, he came back and told me that I can only substitute for a cup. Whatevs.(2) So I ordered soup separately and got a side of salad. I would have liked to get the soup early. After all, it is an appetizer and it was a very cold day. The fact that the soup came piping hot and I couldn’t eat it until after my burger was consumed probably wouldn’t have bothered me that much if the waiter had more flexibility in making a concession for the pricing. Things stack. Having said all that, all in all, I enjoyed my meeting and the food was superb.

Pretty dope place. Remarkable views of the San Francisco Bay & very convenient from the hustle & bustle of Fisherman’s Wharf. A stone’s throw away from the old Del Monte Cannery in the historic Ghirardelli Square. Place is classy and vibrant, and hi-def TV screens around the restaurant. Food is awesome, drinks are not too strong but not too weak, and the service is exemplary. Friendly & smiling faces that servers have w/o a doubt. What can you ask for more? This establishment is two-thumbs up!

We made a stop at «The Pub» at Ghirardelli Square for a late lunch while we were hanging out down at Fisherman’s Wharf. We were in the mood for BBQ and found this place. Figured we why not give it a try? Since we were hungry, we ended up ordering a pretty big meal. We got Chips & Dip(homemade potato chips with caramelized onion dip) as a starter and Kim’s TRIPLETHREAT(comes with the choice of any 3 meats &3 sides). We picked the St. Louis style ribs, Texas style beef brisket, and pulled pork for our meats along with mac and cheese, vegetables, and bacon laced corn as our sides. All of their meat is smoked in-house and the flavors they had were great for being a bar that serves BBQ. I’d say the food was really good, the staff was very friendly, and the place had a great view overlooking the bay from a distance. If you are in town and looking for a good BBQ spot, I would recommend checking this place out.

My boyfriend and I were trying to find this restaurant around Ghirardelli Square but were having trouble, so we asked the gentleman at the information desk for his help! After he told us the location, he gave us a nice little voucher for The Pub. Thank you Kevin! You made our night and visit even more awesome! We find the restaurant and were seated right away. Our voucher was that if we order 2 entrees, we got to have 2 free pints of beer or 2 free glasses of wine. Um, heck yes we did the 2 free beers! Now for the voucher to work, we had to order specific entrees from a certain section in their menu. Turns out that what we both wanted were exactly from that section — yaaasss! My boyfriend got a ribs combo plate(it was good, but nothing can beat Phil’s BBQ in SD) and I opted for the chili mac & cheese which was AMAZING. Our server was great too! She was fast, prompt, and extremely friendly. This is probably one of the better places to dine at Ghirardelli Square for sure.

I was craving meat. The roommate, carbs. We settled on The Pub at Ghirardelli Square. It was Sunday, November 8th. We ordered delivery through Caviar( ) for dinner. Placed the order at 8:35pm and it arrived a little before 9:30pm. Prices below are what we paid using Caviar. They are the same as the restaurant’s online menu. *Jalapeño poppers: housemade three cheese blend with fire roasted jalapenos served with pickled jalapeño aioli($ 11) *Jules triple crown: Pulled pork, St Louis style ribs, Bbq pot roast accompanied by Bacon laced corn, Potato salad, Tater tots($ 27) *Southern fried chicken: ½ citrus brined chicken, breaded with herbs & spices served with mac & cheese, jalapeño slaw & corn bread($ 19) *Truffle mac & cheese: three cheeses, white truffle oil, smokey bacon & green onions($ 15) I thought the poppers were going to be jalapenos filled with a cheese mixture. It turns out the jalapenos were chopped into the cheese filling. Different, but still delicious. Their triple crown is a good way to try a bunch of items. Their ribs had a nice peppery crust. The pot roast was tender. The pulled pork was a touch dry, but the bbq sauce helped with that. I enjoyed the potato salad and tots. The corn was a little too oily for me. Tasted like corn soaked in bacon fat. The fried chicken was good, but I found it weird that they deboned all the pieces except the drumstick. The slaw was a little too tangy for me. The side of mac and cheese was nice and creamy. The truffle mac and cheese was very subtle in truffle aroma and flavor, but still very comforting. This place was never on my radar until I stumbled upon them on Caviar. There aren’t a lot of bbq places avail for delivery. The Pub is a good option for bbq and comfort food.

Great, but pricey! It’s a very casual environment and great for a beer with a burger. Their soups are amazing on a cold day. We always order an extra side of toasted sourdough to eat with the soup. Overall, it’s full of tourists and the prices reflect that. Don’t come here if you want a cheap meal. It’s more of a convenient option if you happen to visit the Ghirardelli Square.

I perused the Menu and when my Server returned I ordered the Half Rack of St Louis Ribs, Tommy Tots. Macaroni Salad and Corn Bread . Its a Great place to catch a game as there are a ton of LCDTV there. Its also a Great Place to People Watch as there are tons of Tourists walking around. My food arrived. The Ribs were very Tender and had a nice Smokey Taste. I really liked the Tater Tots. It was a pretty filling plate . We chose to eat here when we were in San Fran to watch the Blue Angels at Fleet Week. As with most of San Francisco, it’s extremely hard to get parking near where you want to go, so be prepared to walk here from a distance. :) Very cool atmosphere there, looks nice and new and clean. Put our name in, and they were ready for us almost right away, despite how packed everything was.(They send a text when ready.) The lady at the front was really slow though, my boyfriend and I were joking with each other that waiting to put our name in took longer than the wait for a table. Like most pubs, this was loud and pretty packed. Service was still really quick though, which we appreciated! We tried the Tommy Tots, which are buffalo-wings flavored tater tots. I was a little hesitant, but gave them a try… and loved them!!! Very unique, but very good! I highly recommend them if you’re an adventurous person. :) I got a side of mac and cheese, and it was pretty good sized, so for me, who doesn’t eat a ton at once, that with the tater tots was the perfect sized meal. My boyfriend got rib-eye, and thought it was delicious. We also shared some potato salad. That wasn’t really my favorite, because it has huge potato pieces, and I’m a fan more of bite-size potato salad. Drink selections were good, and a lot of the mixed drinks were unique and fun sounding. Restaurant is right across the street from the water, and right next to Ghirardelli Square, so it’s in a cool location. Prices were pretty average for the area. If you feel like some unique, and yummy pub food, in a hip pub-type atmosphere, then check this place out!

Sparerib dinner combo to go. Disappointing. Though the ribs did have some decent flavor and cooked about right, they were overall bland and the barbecue sauce did nothing to help that. Don’t get me wrong the ambience of this place is spot on especially for the Blue Angels when we were there. The food isn’t bad it’s just not great barbecue. Noticed there’s no smoke ring on the ribs. By the way if you get the«homemade» tots, get the sauce on the side as they’re pretty good just the way they are, though ours were tad bit overcooked. The coleslaw that came with them is great if you like drinking vinegar out of a bottle it was way too overbearing. I go back but not order the barbecue.

Bar review: As a Wisconsin transplant I’m happy to see a Packers bar pop up on this side of town, yes, I truly am! Also, it’s nice to have a Packers bar that supports the eating and drinking habits of us cheeseheads(beer and brats!) I know this is a lot to ask a bar in such a pricey locale, but I sincerely wish there were better game day or happy hour specials. We appreciate the $ 10 brat menu offering on Packers game days, but we need a better Miller High Life or Lite specials. At $ 5 a beer, I want too pleased. Perhaps offer buckets or better tap deals? Also, $ 10 for a brat is a bit to steep to be considered a «special» The bar food here is certainly above average. I won’t be making this place a go-to dinner destination anytime soon, but the bar grub hits the spot. On behalf of the entire state of Wisco, thank you for being a Packers bar! Yay! I’m sure my group will be back again for another Pack attack

Just went here to grab a meal closeby while we were on the pier. I got the fish and chips and a mimosa. The unlimited mimosas i hear aren’t that great so I just went with a single mimosa. The service was good but the restaurant itself wasn’t too busy with tourists during that time. I would probably go back to explore other parts of the menu. My friends love the sliders and the jalapeño poppers.

Love this pub! We come here during the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival in September. Of course, lots of tourists come here also, but that’s the best part of SF. We embrace all cultures, people, activities, etc. Great spot to catch a game or two. It’s always lively, and we’re usually seated right away and near the window. It’s fun to people watch during the festival and look for the Ghirardelli ice cream mascot. They look a bit cheesy walking around in an ice cream cone, oh well, somebody’s gotta do it! At least it keeps them warm on a cold Summer’s day in SF. We order their tasty ribs, pulled pork, fish & chips, tater tots, and mac & cheese. Kids love their mac & cheese, can’t go wrong. I wouldn’t suggest coming here during certain weekends with special events like Fleet Week, as it can be a madhouse, but whatever floats your boat(pun intended).

We were in the Ghirardelli square area yesterday looking for a place to get lunch. Unfortunately the place we wanted to go was closed so we ended up at the Pub instead. The food was decent, I would highly recommend the espresso burger. Unfortunately the service is the reason for the 3 stars. We saw our waitress twice the entire time we were there — once for the order and once to give us a bill. She was nowhere to be found for most of our lunch. Go here if you need a bite to eat but don’t expect any service from the wait staff’
