The UPS Store

Born and raised in Noe Valley, so glad to see UPS here! These guys are the best: I run a lot of my work packaging through them and Paul has always been a pleasure to work with. Recently, my husband and I had to get some last minute business notarization done. Not a single financial nor real estate office on the block offered this service at the time. Not even the post office or a few banks down in the Mission or Lakeshore??? Luckily, Johan Manchola and his crew (Shawn and Jun) at UPS were there and ready to rely on. We are so thankful for them. Mr. Manchola was very friendly and professional. He went above and beyond to help make sure our documents were completed and sent off in a timely fashion. THANK YOU Johan. I will always do business at this UPS Noe Valley as it is hard to find good quality customer service like they provide here.

These guys are the BEST! We decided to buy stationary and print our wedding invitations ourselves to save some money. We were told by FedEx that they couldn’t print on card stock that wasn’t 81/​2X11 and our home printer just wasn’t cutting it. We were panicking!
We stopped into the UPS store on a whim to see if they could do it. Paul, the manager basically told us he would find a way. He worked tirelessly for over an hour special printing our invitations and response cards. They turned out perfectly! He was friendly, and so helpful. We ended up saving several hundred dollars doing it this way. I’ll certainly be coming back in here for their exceptional customer service and work.

I’ve had a mailbox at this address since 2003, and have used all services. When UPS took over from the original owners, I was somewhat apprehensive, but from the very beginning, under the leadership of Paul, this store and all of its staff have been phenomenal. Service is rapid and efficient, and all employees have been nothing but true class (efficient, friendly, and hardworking). Oversized thumbs up!

I spent a good part of the month of August in here, as I was shipping stuff for a cross country move. Paul & Co helped with everything from standard shipping to packing art work and oddly shaped packages. Paul even offered to have my large boxes picked up and shipped (with less than 24 hours notice!) when I told him my professional movers missed their allotted pick up time and I was getting worried.
Only downside is parking. With large packages its hard to find somewhere convenient to park and carry in the store.

This UPS store has got new ownership over the last year. What a huge improvement in service! Previously the owners were always grumpy and charged for everything — even dropping off a box. The new owners are excellent. I am always greeted with a smile and they are fast and efficient. While their store was being remodeled, I was once walking to their temporary location. I met the owner on the street and he offered to take the boxes I had for drop off. Thank you for great service.

Paul and team having been treating me very well since the transition from Noe valley Pack n Ship; much more automation and functionality. Previous venue seemed to always be telling me what they «couldn’t» do for me, but the new management is all about the positive.

I wish that I could give this store negative stars.
I dopped off boxes at a store in Washington DC to be shipped to this store. The price was confirmed in DC. Upon wanting to pick up my boxes from this store all of a sudden there is a $ 15/​box fee for pick up. This fee is not posted on the website nor was it verbally communicated to me when I dropped of the boxes in DC. While I understand that the stores are franchised, it is not my responsibility as the customer to make sure that their stores communicate with eachother. I requested that the fee be waived as it came out of nowhere for me (once they had posession of my items) and I was told that it really wasn’t their concern, due to the seperate franchises. It’s insanity to just randomly change the price of a service after it has been completed. I am currently pursuing this issue with corporate UPS, but it astounds me that they can get away with just charging random fees.
They claim to care about customer service, but I experienced the complete opposite.

I was so disappointed that the person that works here chose to tell me his political feelings. It’s OK to decorate for Halloween but not July 4^th? His words to his coworker. This speaks volumes. The conversation went further than it should have in a business setting, but he is young. I have been purposely going out of my way to not support a store that does not support America.

Used our neighborhood’s friendly UPS Store to ship my belongings to Chicago. They helped me unload from the curb and made it all a smooth process. Call ahead to find out what time of day they are least busy. Thanks for the help guys!

The few reviews here that are critical mystify me so much that I think the reviewers may have intended their digs for a different UPS Store. The UPS Store in Noe Valley on 24^th Street –currently located at a temporary storefront near Church Street while their regular store at Castro is renovated– is wonderful!
I had a p.o. box at the store’s last incarnation, Noe Valley Pack and Ship, and thus I was there several times a week to pick up mail. I can assure you that the UPS folks tower over the previous owners. UPS texts and emails me whenever a package has arrived at my box (saving me tons of time and money). The manager –the affable and multi-​talented Paul– and his staff are unfailing in their courtesy, professionalism, and knowledge of their products. A notary public is always available, and the store offers a wide range of services including copying, printing, faxing, shipping, even laminating documents.
Now that we are getting into the bustle of the Christmas season –my business relies on picking up and sending out large volumes of merchandise– words cannot possibly convey how glad/​thankful/​relived I am that Paul and his UPS team are in Noe Valley. They’re the best!

I looked online and called to make sure this store was open. I drove all the way down to the store with lots of packages for drop-​off with an hour and 15 min to spare only to find that they decided to close early for «pre-​thanksgiving». No notice, no sign. I wrapped on the window and they were rude and arrogant. WTF?!! Are they running a business or what? I won’t use them again because I need to work with professionals, not a bunch of entitled yuppies.

I’m torn on my number of stars because while the customer service was satisfactory, the smell inside the store almost made me leave. It was a very strong body odor that was hopefully a one-​time thing. Ugh.

New? Same old, same old. Actually worse …
I went in with a return of a small electrical device. I had bubble wrap, tape, everything I needed to do the job. I only needed to buy a box.
Store Keeper, «Do you want us to pack that for you?»
Me, «No. I can do that. I just need to buy the box and pay for the shipping.»
Store keeper, «Well, I’ll sell you a box, but you have to remove it completely from my store to do any packing. We are a pack and ship facility.»
Me, «You mean I can’t put this in the box over there?» Indicating a table that used to have free tape and such but now has just a stapler. Not that I needed it. I brought my own. I only wanted to use the table.
Store keeper, «No. You will have to leave the premises to do your own packing.»
I thanked the man and left. Walked to the Post Office half a block away, bought a box, used my tape and bubble wrap, and mailed it out. Done deal.
And done with this merchant who has no idea of customer service and lost the small sale of a box one time and a customer forever.

So different from the previous ship store. This one is friendly happy efficient and welcome to the hood.

Finally, a real UPS Store in Noe. Apparently a few local merchants went in on it together.
The old pack and ship owners retired. Good riddance.
