Games, shots, and more games! Who wouldn’t like it? Been here a couple times and had a great time at both. The bartenders have always been exceptionally friendly — gave us shots on the house for my friend’s birthday as well as extra large drinks for the birthday boy free of that extra charge. Talk about service! It’s a nice space to come with friends for some drunken games. They’ve got pool, basketball, punching things(sorry…not eloquent) and some more arcade games. Again — what’s not to love with games and alcohol?

We had our Back to the Future party at the Wreck room yesterday, and the entire staff was just awesome. The space was great too, because our party was slightly tucked away from the main crowd but able to spill out and not feel claustrophobic. We had about 25 people attend, and the area we were in felt just about right for that many people(could have had maybe 30, beyond that, a bit cramped). HUGE shout outs to Evan, Ethan and Scott for taking care of our group despite a packed bar with people there to watch the game. The drinks were all delicious(they made us some specialty cocktails) and totally reasonably priced. There isn’t any food at the bar, but they are totally accommodating about your bringing in your own, and there is an area to set up that is away from the main crowd. I look forward to coming back in a more casual capacity, would love to get to play the games they have there :)

Great location, and great place to get«Wreck“ed, for real. However, it gets incredibly hot with a lot of younger fratty type crowds. Loved it when I was a bit younger, but unable to handle it now. You’ll sweat profusely! As for the games, the shuffleboard, skeeball, and other games are awesome. Great place to go on a more quiet night(avoid Fri/Sat). Prices on drinks are very reasonable. Still a great place to visit!

Great dive bar with a little Dave and Busters action with the games they have. The bartenders work their tails off and I’ve never had to wait too long for a drink. Gets crowed on the weekends but the crowd is usually better than the typical Polk Street crowd down the street. Also a great place to watch games. Have to say though, and the owners may not enjoy this, but it turns into a Jets bar on NFL Sundays. Me and my buddies(49er’s fans) enjoy going down and watching them drown in their misery when the Jets blow it. Either way great bar.

My friends and I come here for the Oregon football games and love it. The bartenders have always been super friendly(especially Evan) and set the perfect mood for watching a college game. Somewhat reminiscent of Taylor’s for fellow ducks. Super fun place that I would definitely recommend checking out for game days!

Wreck Room is a dive-y bar in the Tendernob, with plenty of games to wait in line for. The crowd is primarily college age, as well as 30-something girls who still wear plastic crowns on their birthday. The drinks are cheap, and it’s in a great area if you’re crawling the bars of Polk street. Bring cash, otherwise you’ll be stuck getting a second drink here or using their ATM.

They kicked us out before 2am. Why? And the dude hogged the basketball game for like 6 hours. Why.

Great little bar with some skee-ball, basketball, pool, and other fun bar games. The drink specials are really great and the ambiance is awesome. Came here with a relatively large group(~10 people) and had tons of fun. I definitely recommend the beer and shot special. Would recommend you to come try this place out if you are in the area.

Wreck Room has lost its soul and it makes me depressed. I used to come here weekly when I lived in Nob Hill 2−−3 years ago. It was the perfect place on the weekdays — 20 people max in the bar, Biggie and Dre bumpin’ on the speakers, friendly staff, and great games to play — an amazing place to relax, talk, and dance if you wanted to. On the weekends, the Marina invaded, so this was a place to avoid. I came back last night, a Thursday, for the first time in a year or two and was shocked. What used to be Dre and Biggie is now Fifth Harmony, Ed Sheeran, and EDM tunes. They upgraded with a bunch of new TVs, which is cool, and got rid of the jukebox. Games are still around and staff is still awesome but it just didn’t feel the same. They are definitely catering towards a new audience of more yuppies(probably from the Marina). I knew it was time to go when a group of young professionals created a circle of awkward dancing to Maroon 5. I guess this review isn’t meant to reflect badly upon Wreck Room, because they have to make their money, but this place just isn’t the same and it’s a reflection of the shifting of culture/make up in the city.

I love everything about this bar. Cheap drinks? Yep. Games like shuffleboard, darts, pool, skeeball and some being free(ahem, shuffleboard, and it’s a nice table)? Yep. Great bartenders? Yep. My guy would add that they seem to be NY sports fans to boot. Honestly, what more do you want in a bar. Sunshine? I’ll give it up, this spot is dark, but it’s a diveyeque sports bar with loads of flat screens! It also happens to be pretty spacious, making it a perfect spot for my friend’s birthday. I got my buzz on off two deliciously strong and cheapish cocktails(I wanna say the $ 7 – 8 range), lost in shuffleboard and had a great time. No food, but I’m sure you can bring some in?(Don’t quote me on that last part). A great spot to spend the night or just pre-game before hitting up one of the more fanciful restaurants in Nob Hill!

Good memory=Warriors winning the NBA tournament last week. Insanity =trying to get myself up to where my friends were parked in an entirely packed space filled floor to ceiling(it seemed) with Warrior fans mid game. Plenty of televisions for game watching, but perhaps next time I will arrive early and be prepared to squat!

You’re going to find a very non-diverse and older crowd, country music, and some games in the back. The bartender and bouncers are nice enough, but nothing too special. Came here on a Friday night, but was pretty bored after a couple of hours. The drinks are cheap and strong — they don’t skimp. Parking in Nob Hill is a complete pain in the ass, so it’s not worth coming here if you’re driving. Definitely catch an über/lyft and let yourself go.

I was visiting San Francisco from a huge college town in Kentucky, so I was looking all over for a place that would feel more comfortable for me as a college student. The atmosphere was great because there were more 20somethings and everyone was so laid back and friendly. The games in the place are a great way to break the ice with new people. It wasn’t packed even though it was Friday night. Up by the bar gets a little more crowded but there’s plenty of room once you step away from it. The bartenders were absolutely great as they were so attentive and always ready to make me a drink. Gabriel and Evan were serving me and I loved them both! Ethan, a bartender from R Bar, recommended I go here and I’m so glad I did.

Pretty laid back bar. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly empty. It was nice because there was enough space to walk and talk to others without having to yell. It has a pool table, skeeball, shuffleboard, darts and a couple other games. The music consists of an old school jukebox so the music selection varies. Drinks are strong and cheap so beware. The crowd is diverse and friendly so that’s always a plus. Will be coming back to this place!

The Wreck Room is a bar located near the intersection of California and Hyde straddling the northern border of Lower Nob Hill or, as many folks like to call this part of town, the Tendernob. North Carolina hometown buddy and now longtime San Francisco transplant Brian C introduced me to this spot. The Wreck Room is like a college bar except it’s in the middle of San Francisco. The Saturday night we went, the crowd appeared to be mostly twentysomethings. While the crowd was a little diverse, the atmosphere and vibe were predominantly fratastic. I can see why this place is popular. There are several TVs, great for watching sports. There’s an old school CD jukebox. The highlight, though, is probably the assortment of bar games. They include: — A pool table — Basketball«Super Shot» — Skee ball — A boxing arcade machine with an actual punching bag — One dart board — One shuffleboard Spacewise, the bar can seat about 20 customers. There are tall tables and bar stools in the front for about 20 more. Finally, there’s a nook in the back with two tall tables and seating for another 20. The gaming area has a wide open space in the middle which is nice if you need breathing room. That is unless, of course, a dance party breaks out. The overall condition of the bar and games is alright. This place definitely has some years on it and, again, reminds me of a typical college town bar. I can’t say I enjoyed my time here because it was uncomfortably hot inside. It was an unseasonably warm upper 70s/lower 80s Fahrenheit day. Many older buildings in San Francisco don’t have air conditioning. The Wreck Room is on the ground floor of what appears to be an older building, so I can’t fault them too much. However, it doesn’t change the fact that I wanted to leave solely because the heat was near unbearable(and I’m a warm weather person). It was also pretty busy that night, so the collective body heat, humidity, alcohol, and odor only made matters worse. I’m sure The Wreck Room is more fun and entertaining on cooler nights.

I did NOT enjoy this place at all. Sorry, I hate to be the barer of bad reviews, especially since I spent the weekend with several other Unilocalers discussing bad reviews and the implications that they have on business owners(who are trying their hardest to do their best) but I believe that low star reviews are acceptable if they help business owners learn what they can do better and aren’t just merely bitch fests. So here’s my attempt at not being a bitch: While the drinks were cold and the price point was right($ 5 for a Guinness Blonde) the heat inside the establishment killed the whole mood. While the Wreck Room was busy it certainly was not packed, however despite this it felt like a million degrees in here. Even sipping an ice cool beer did not help and it honestly killed the vibe for my party of six who quickly finished our first(and last) drinks and decided to move on. We were told about the Wreck Room from a local and were excited to play the games but the heat just killed it. I’m not sure what the air conditioning situation is(or if there even is any — I only noticed a large fan in the corner doing the best it cold) but if this could get sorted out the Wreck Room could be a cool place — for now however I would simply pass on it.

Reminiscent of a beta Golden Gate Tap Room on Sutter Street. The Wreck Room has its charm with its pool table, shooting hoop, and cool bar space. I would recommend this place for HH or great meet up with friends before heading out to the city.

Cool bartenders, decent beer selection and a lot of fun games make the Wreck Room a great place to hang out with friends! The place is good-sized, especially in the back, so even with a ton a people there you don’t feel cramped. Had a lot of fun there with some friends!

ATMOSPHERE: I love the wreck room! Basketball game, pool table what’s not to love? It’s also on California St Nob Hill, so in the middle of seeing the Trolleys roll by. Also near Polk, so if you’re in for a ratchet night hayy. All here for your easy drunken stumblings to! 8.13

With so many bars littered across SF, it’s a shame that more aren’t like The Wreck Room(or Buckshot on Geary). That’s not to say they’re the best the city has to offer(though they are pretty good); rather, it’s just that it’d be nice to have more places with this kind of entertainment! Seriously, why can’t more places offer shuffleboard? As the name suggests, The Wreck Room offers plenty of games to entertain drinkers and non-drinkers alike. In addition to shuffleboard, there’s also skeeball, hoop shot, a boxing machine, darts, a pool table, and more. In a way, they’re like the D&B of bars, minus the food, overpriced drinks, and ticket arcade machines. What makes The Wreck Room even better though is that the bartenders/staff are friendly and decently generous with their pours. I can’t say I was unhappy with my Makers Mark neat, nor with my pint of Shocktop. It’s just too bad they don’t serve food like Buckshot, though people might never have a reason to leave then. Since we were here for a meet up on a Wednesday night, I can’t say how things are on a normal weekend, but I did see some of the«bro crowd» others have mentioned. Still, the vibe felt pretty chill and not nearly as bro-ish as notorious spots like Bar None in the Marina. Just make sure to Über/Lyft/cab your way over here. Beyond the obvious reason of not drinking and driving, parking in the area is terrible.
