nice to have another Mexican food option besides Chipotle(and a few stretchy places…), but difficult to rate. the food is above average, prices are definitely reasonable, pretty quick service once you ordered, and nice surrounding(use to be a sandwich place back in the day), but at a certain point, a place just reaches its peak. Uno Dos Tacos is what it is — 3 star worthy.

Ordered breakfast burritos for a meeting at work. The Uno Dos staff had them ready and packed up at the promised time. They provided tons of salsa — which I had forgotten to request. The burritos were yummy — all eaten by the end of our meeting!

This place needs a higher rating than 3.5 stars. Let me help you out, Uno Dos Tacos, and hopefully bump your rating up to a nice healthy 4 stars. The big draw of this place is that their happy hour lasts from 4 until closing! So relax, take a blanket, which are available to the right of the entrance, and enjoy the patio, where San Francisco summers are disappointingly cool and windy. To your left, you will find the bar, and to your right, you will find the counter where you shall order your food. Naturally, gravitated to the left side of the restaurant, and found myself talking to a chirpy bartender. I asked which drink has the higher alcohol content – the margarita or the sangria. She said that the sangria seems stronger because it has brandy in it. Say no more. $ 20 later, I had a pitcher in my hand and I was ready to party(not by myself, but with two of my girl friends). The pitcher was enough for us to get a good tipsy feeling going on, but then again, we are all relatively lightweights. The food was delicious! We got a sopas(never had it before – was like chicharon on a tart), and flautas(I LOVE flautas! I wish the happy hour portion was bigger, but it was only $ 5 anyway), and my woman friends got tacos. We had chips and some very good chunky guac to start off, and it already got us full. However, not to be deterred, we still finished all of our food. The only thing is, it took FOREVER to get our food; to the point where I had to get up and ask the person nearby the kitchen what the hold up was. Awesome happy hour, drinks, and food! I’d come back here, but bring a snickers bar in case the kitchen is taking awhile… it will be worth it, though!

Typical San Francisco baloney, there wasn’t very much food and The price was terrible, when she or he whoever delivered this overpriced Poor excuse for a dinner, I said oh well and tried it out didn’t taste bad But there sure wasn’t enough for the money I spent. One good thing Though the gal at the cash register gave us a free bowl of chips and Salsa and guacamole which was great. Enough said.

Of course it not as authentic as the taqueria restaurants in the Mission but more Mexican than your local Chipotle. Its great place for a quick bite to eat. Their menu can seem a little pricey when considering their small serving size, but I guess it evens out since the don’t stuff their burritos with rice. I had ordered their carnitas burrito. They were fairly quick in making it and the meat was marinated really well. Their hot sauce wasn’t too spicy which I liked. Maybe next time I’ll take advantage of their happy hour menu.

Uno Dos Tacos is a great part of the SOMA lunch rotation. Typically a long line(but it goes fast) and once you order the wait is only about 5 minutes. Plus you get a handy little pager so you don’t have to wait around in an awkward cluster. By the time you find a place to sit, grab a drink, and get set up to enjoy your lunch — your food is ready! Their salads are a good portion(I hardly have room to finish) and at under $ 8(for the Vegetariano(my go to) — with Poblano, yellow squash, onion, and mushrooms) it is not only a tasty option but also way better on my pocket book then the typical $ 11-$ 13 salads you will find in most other restaurants in SOMA.(the most expensive salad at Uno Dos Tacos is still only 9.50!) Other notable menu items: * Chips and guac — good addition to any meal and the size is large enough to share. * Pescado taco — Wild fried cod, chipotle salsa They have a good amount of seats inside — but on a nice day the patio is the place to be. Just watch out for the birds… they are vicious and will practically fight you for your food! Service is always helpful, friendly, and quick.

Great place for breakfast. The only breakfast item is a really tasty breakfast burrito that pairs well with fresh OJ(they have a zumex machine). There is always lively latin pop in the morning which charges me up for the rest of the day. The Unilocal rating is for breakfast. The lunch and dinner food need a lot of improvement, and it’s way too crowded for me after 5PM.

The tacos are quite small so I tried out the Asada, Carnitas, and Lengua tacos. Although they were different meats, they all tasted very similar. The tacos came with a side of mashed black beans with cheese. The salsa that came with the tacos was not spicy. However, you can grab spicy ones from the counter. They have a long lunch line that moves quickly.

Great place for happy hour. Love the environment with outdoor seating, bar, quick service and good music. We ordered the taco basket Tinga taco, Flautas and Gorditas. Tacos were great. Well seasoned shredded chicken with their house made chilled sauce and yummy mole. Flautas had the nice crunch under the shredded lettuce. The fried pork on top of the Gorditas was the best park of the meal. The salsa, fresh queso fresco and fried pork were a great combination of textures. I’ll be back to try their carnitas and barbacoa tacos.

I’m loving the outdoor seating area, where you can grab your tacos and sangrias/beer/both and lounge there(if the sunny weather is out and about)! They provide indoor seating as well, but who wants to be indoors when the daylight permits a pleasant enjoyment for the outing. That’s a statement. Their tacos are yummy. I got their carne asada, which was tender on the meat. Their fish taco with lime wedge squeezed onto it, is delightful! This spot is great for kicking off the happy hours and lunch flows!

I absolutely LOVE Uno Dos — the vibe is casual and fun and they have hands down the best breakfast burritos in the area for only $ 3.50! I normally add bacon and avocado, which bumps them up a buck, but they are so delicious. My team and I make it a weekly outing every Friday morning and I am so so tempted to go every morning — they are too good! Come for the breakfast burritos by 10:3am and don’t be intimidated by the lines since they go quickly. Uno Dos is also so great for lunch/a casual dinner. The guac and tacos are delicious and also inexpensive for this area. Apparently they have a great happy hour as well. Yay Uno Dos!

I really like coming here for their breakfast burritos since they do give you a decent amount of food for only $ 3.50 which is better then their nearby competitors who are much more expensive and give less. But during lunch time due to the area there are long lines and they move very slowly, but the constancy can vary from time to time. Which is kinda of a bummer when you just want a good burrito or taco.

Review for happy hour only, 5p-7p time with friends on a Tuesday: — guac and chips: one of the best I had! — quesadilla: it seemed deep fried but I liked it! — ordered 12 tacos: liked the fish the best, very fresh. Agreed with other Unilocalers the tortillas got soggy after a bit… just eat fast! :) — salsa on the tables in the squeeze tub is super spicy, and I liked it! — fun atmosphere; get there early for a table/seat. Comparisons: — Tacos — also like La Taqueria in the Mission(their tacos are hefty — heavy and filling); but I’m not in the Mission much. — Tacos — if you like street tacos, try the San Buena food truck parked near Sansome and Bush streets M-F in FiDi. — Guac and chips — really like Celia’s guac and chips(in San Bruno on El Camino Real)

Overall, flavorless Mexican. Not bad, but nothing memorbale. I however do have to give it up for those homemade, thick corn tortillas! They are bomb! Everything else, kind of gringoized. You order at the front, grab a number and go find a seat. Inside is spacious and there is plenty of outdoor seating on their patio. Great for groups in a casual setting if you can snag some seating. You have the the usual suspects: tacos, burriton, quesadillas, plate, etc… I ended up with the chicken plate that comes with a nice little mound of chicken, black beans and three tortillas. I had to slather their non spicy hot sauce to get any flavor and even then, the star of the show were those tortillas. Where’s the spice? Where’s the heat? Honesty, where is it? Bonus: that guac is good! Not the biggest portion, but super fresh and delicious. Chips, freshly fried, albeit a bit greasy. Again, salsa was super weak. Solid portions, a great space, with some great value. A million miles away from authentic and definitely lacking flavor that would make this a four star Mexican joint.

So if you read my previous review, you will see that the owner, Luis F. replied to me. I love that he takes his customer’s recommendations into consideration. He said that he now includes cilantro onto his veggie tacos! I truly think it will brighten up the dish. I came back with a couple of friends for dinner. I ordered the veggie plate this time and was happy at the portion size! Multiple warm fresh corn tortillas and plenty of beans and veggies! When I picked up my food, I saw the Luis F., the manager, was expo-ing the line. I decided to say hello and introduce myself. He instantly remembered who I was! We had a great conversation where he addressed my desire for cilantro on my tacos, as well as explained why they don’t have a salsa bar. He actually designs a different sauce for each taco so he wants the flavors he created to stay true. Also, he doesn’t want to risk cross-contamination between each sauce or have them sitting out. However, he did say that we are more than welcomed to request extra sauce if we’d like to try them out. He gave me another sauce to try that was spicy and delicious! Luis checked up on my group and even let us try his enchiladas! These were seriously a game changer. The tortillas were so fresh and the sauce just warmed me up. He prepared it vegan so I can enjoy it! They are only available during dinner time, but they were so good I will just have to come back for more. After a few margaritas and as many chips & salsa we can shove down our bellies, we were incredibly stuffed! Amazing quality and fresh ingredients made for a delicious meal. Luis and his staff also showed incredible customer service from beginning to end.(A woman came out to help bus my plates). There really isn’t anything more I can ask from a restaurant. Uno Dos Tacos earns their shiny 5th star. See you guys soon!

This place is a fast and easy taco fix! I come here for lunch sometimes with my co workers. Line gets pretty long during lunch hours, but has plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. They also provide blankets for outside seating, considerate: D I usually get the tacos, they have different kinds of meats you can choose from including fish and veggie. My favorite is the lengua tacos, the meat is cooked very well. The tortilla is kinda of soggy. Comes with a side of beans and green sauce. They also have this spicy sauce that you can use, but its pretty spicy for me. They also serve plates and burritos. Overall, pretty good place to grab quick tacos!

This place is so cute especially that they have outdoor sitting. It huge. Enough space to sit during rush hours in the FIDI. Came here with 2 friends and we shared the 6 tacos special. One of each taco from their menu. If you want to change anything, additional charge. My favorite was their carnitas and their fried fish taco. But everything was still very tasty. Even their veggie taco and I’m that person whom prefers meat over anything. They serve the tacos with 3 different salsa. Mild, medium and spicy. Best combo is mild with spicy. YUM! They do provide a salsa bottle at each tables. We order a side of chips and guacamole for under $ 4 dollars. Wish there was more guacamole but if you run out, the salsa does the trick as well. Food was made fast and services good. Will definitely come back.

A-OK tacos, a bit on the pricey side. I was in the mood for some street tacos, and this was the closest one to work in the financial district and the reviews were good enough for me to check it out. Located about a half a block from the Montgomery Bart station on Market St., you can find this establishment. There are helpful signs when you walk in, to the left you’ll find the tequila bar, and on the right, you can order food. I wanted to try the tacos, but when scanning the menu, I saw that Salsa and Chips were only $ 2. I held back from order 3 tacos though, because $ 3.50 is a little hefty for street tacos, for me at least. Right after ordering, the cashier attended to grabbing my chips and salsa right away. This was good, because I could snack on something while waiting for my main course. But, I didn’t even have to wait that long for them to assemble my two tacos. The Chips and Salsa were pretty good. I was iffy at first, because I usually like the more well-blended salsas, and theirs is chopped in small cubes, but it turned out to be very good. My problem with it however, is that you get a lot of chips, for just a small container of salsa, I felt weird about asking if I needed to pay the full price for a refill(so if any owners read this review, please let me know if salsa refills cost full price). I was excited to try the tacos. They’re made with your choice of meat, followed with onions and cilantro, all on top of a freshly made masa tortilla. You also get a small container of black beans, and another one with some spicy salsa, with a wedge of lime on the side. I tried my first one with just lime on top. It turned out to be just okay for me though. I was hoping to taste the fresh cilantro and seasoned meat. I could taste them, but I wished they had more flavor. You can add the salsa to add some flavor, but I was hoping that the ingredients would stand out on their own. With the price and the flavor of the tacos, I can only give a 3 star rating for now. I’ll probably come out and try it again sometime, maybe try different meats. Try if you want.

Does anyone NOT love Uno Dos?! It’s the best! This place has a great, lively atmosphere, but the setup makes it so it never feels too loud. I love both the indoor seating and outdoor patio, and they even have blankets for when it’s cold out. It’s reasonably priced with a great $ 5 happy hour food selection, and the bar is great too! I love nothing more than splitting a pitcher of Sangria with my friends. It’s seriously the perfect place to meet up with friends after work. It’s conveniently located near BART, so no excuses why you can’t get there! It’s also counter service, so no awkward splitting of checks. The food is good quality, and the service is amazing! The bartenders are so nice!

When you’re craving a breakfast burrito and don’t want to spend more than $ 5, Uno Dos is your place. At $ 3.25, it’s a steal for the Financial district, and you can add bacon or chorizo for a mere 50 cents. The burritos are on the small side, but not bad for the price. Plus, they crank them out so quickly, I’m never waiting for long.

Came here for happy hour on a Wednesday around 6:30PM. Surprisingly not as crowded as I would imagine but still very lively inside. There’s a patio area and our group of 6 took advantage of the decent weather outside. My friend also tells me they provide blankets for colder nights… interesting concept. Hopefully they wash their blankets regularly. Overall cool environment. Happy hour deals here are pretty meh. Everything on the menu(not HH prices) are pretty high so I think happy hour just brings the prices to a reasonable amount. Regardless, the food here is pretty good! One of my friends and I shared a plate of their six taco plate($ 16 and comes with one fish and one lengua already — any additional taco of those costs an extra $ 1). The tacos were pretty standard — nothing mind-blowing, if anything it was just basic. We got 2 carne asada and 2 chicken. Chicken tasted a little weird, but carne asada was good. The fish was probably the best. We also got baskets on baskets of chips and salsa/guac. I don’t normally like chunky salsa and guac, but they were actually really good! The guac tasted fresh and I dipped my chips in the salsa sauce(I don’t like tomatoes) and that had a great spice and kick to it. I think the chips and guac/salsa were my favorite thing we had — I know, so basic. But they really were tasty! A margarita pitcher is almost $ 30. It probably served 5 cups. A little pricey in my opinion, but they were strong so I guess that justifies the price a little.

There’s something I really enjoy about Uno Dos Tacos — whether it be the food, the simple décor, ambiance, quality ingredients, the drinks, the spacious patio — Uno Dos has it down as a gathering place. I highly recommend anything on their menu; it is a guarantee that no matter what you order, you’ll get good quality, fresh food, and for the average Financial District price for a lunch(~$ 10 – 12). Uno Dos also has a great happy hour menu consisting of sangrias, margaritas, and chips and dip all at a great price. I love this place; it’s centrally located at a busy intersection of the Financial District/SOMA and right next to convenient MUNI and BART lines.

Happy hour in fidi! Strong cocktail and fun, friendly bartender! tacos available at happy hour pricing if you go after work. Yummy. Drinks and tacos, that’s all you need to have a good time and catch up and share secrets with your friends. You can sit inside at tables, higher bar tables, or outside(and use their blankets)! Average of 3 stars. 4 stars for the breakfast burrito! I loved it so much I went back for a lunch burrito. Breakfast was better than lunch. 2 stars for the lunch burrito. The beef burrito I had for lunch was pretty bland and had way too many black beans. I also couldn’t taste the guac or sour cream. However, they have amazing hot sauce which I poured into every bite of my burrito. Highly recommend for a quick and inexpensive breakfast! There’s also a fun looking tequila bar, which I didn’t partake in but maybe next time.

Helllllllo, San Francisco! This will be my first review of an establishment in your locale. Of all of my options I think that I feel most passionately about this review. I was on a recent business trip in the San Francisco region and a coworker of mine took me and a few others out to Uno Dos. Below I will provide you with a comprehensive explanation regarding my experience, and what you may be able to expect from your visit. Food: I really wanted a burrito, but then … for the same cost … I realized that I could get TWO tacos and try TWO different meats! And so the inner-battle for gastrointestinal dominance waged between by stomach and brain. My brain was eloquently piecing together a justifiable and rational explanation regarding its position on the matter, while my stomach was boisterously yelling at my brain like a potty-mouth 5-year-old. Yea, it was ugly. I finally settled on two tacos — yep, my brain won. I ordered the carne asada and the carnitas tacos, with guacamole, and with a side of queso. First things first… the meats. The carne asada was excellent. Well-seasoned, tender, and cooked to perfection. The only thing that I like on my carne asada that was not present, was a high heat char from a grill or broiler. Even without that though, this was top-notch. The carnitas were probably the best that I have ever had. Melt-in-your mouth pork, bursting with flavor. I strongly recommend the carinatas.(Meat 5⁄5) The homemade corn tortillas were definitely fresh. For me though, I am a flour tortilla guy. If you are a corn-person(that sounds weird)… then go for the corn tortillas — you will not be disappointed. The guacamole was some of the best I have had in terms of freshness and quality. A little bit too heavy-handed on the chopped onions, but the flavor was on point. Nxt, the side of Queso. This is where an unfortunate circumstance happened. I wanted a side of cheese sauce(i.e. Queso). The dude acted confused by this order, and asked if I wanted melted cheese. I said, ‘yes, a cheese sauce.‘ In retrospect, my assumption is that they just don’t serve this. Bummer. What I got was a small ramekin of grated cheese. Not gonna penalize them for it, but it was sad.(Tortilla 4, Guacamole 4, cheese N/A) Ok, so now onto the compilation of the taco. Everything was fresh, the flavors were good, except for the EXCESSIVE serving of chopped onions on the taco. I had to scarpe/pick the vast majority of them out of the taco. There were waaaaay to many. Like, between 1⁄8 and ¼ cup on each taco. It was nuts. This was quite disappointing; but easily fixable — just a nuisance. Food: 4⁄5 Service: The place was hopping on a Friday afternoon at lunch. Literally, a line out the door and down the street. As such, the main concern for the establishment was quickly fulfilling ticket orders. I get that. It was so busy, that a dude, seemingly a manager of sorts — was pulling people out of line and ringing them out at the bar. I appreciate that they were doing all that they could to rock-out the voluminous quantity of tickets. As such, I cannot penalize them for lack of service. Service: 4⁄5 Atmosphere: Waaaaay too busy for my liking; but the overall décor on the inside, and the clean and comfortable area on the outside were really nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. indoors it is cramped with all the people hustling about. Outdoors it is also quite cramped. Good luck trying to find a place to sit. Also, do not leave your food for one second! If the aggressive pigeons don’t get it, a fast-working bus-person will. The ‘bussers’ were zooming around very efficiently trying to get things ready for the seemingly endless horde of taco consumers — so, again, I cannot blame them for being a little over-zealous in their duties. Atmosphere: 3⁄5 Price: For what I paid, I feel like the quality was fair. For the cost, it did not blow me away; but I would possibly pay it again if I ever came back. Price: 3⁄5 Final Thoughts: As with all of my reviews, I reserve the right to round up or down. I feel as if Uno Dos is deserving of a 4 star review, despite the minor hiccups in service and food compilation. Overall though, I would say that this is a solid place to grab some tacos and take them back to your office /home /car, etc. Honestly, these tacos are legit, and I fully recommend checking this place out.

Wanted to check out something different in this neighborhood, and I was famished, and I was right nearby. The place looked cute and Mexican sounded good, so in I went. Loved the atmosphere, the vibe, the chill energy. Loved the outdoor seating. Prices are a little high, but it’s San Francisco and it’s downtown, so no surprise… I ordered two items off of the happy hour menu, and a soda, so dropped about $ 14 with tax and tip. TINY portions. It’s definitely more finger food to nosh on than FOOD food for when you want dinner. I could have had 5 of these for a meal, which would have been $ 25, which would have been kind of not in the spirit of a cheap happy hour out. Tasted nice, but seriously, there’s lots of places that are less fancy that have as-good of food for half the price. Not that impressed. Too pricey for what you get.

I came here for a quickie meal while everyone I knew was having happy hour at a place that didn’t serve real food. I was pleasantly surprised by everything: service efficiency; food quality; and atmosphere. Service efficiency: I got my food pretty quickly for how crowded it was Food quality: I think my quesadilla could have had more cheese and meat but considering I am trying to lose weight and look hot– this was acceptable. Atmosphere: This place was happening. It was 8pm on a Friday night and I think Uno Dos was where the party was happening.

In Jersey for lunch we eat a variety of things– pizza, sub sandwiches, salads, sushi… the list goes on and on. When I’m in SF we eat tacos, and lots of them. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. The menu is quick and easy. Choose your protein(asada, chicken, carnitas, fish) and then choose your style. You can order your protein in various forms including taco, burrito, salad or platter. I went with the asada platter– a hearty portion of juicy steak neatly plated next to a heaping mound of black beans and pico de gallo. There are also corn tortillas on the side so you can opt to make your own taco if you wish. If you are going to get tacos I vote to go with the platter because you can put way more meat in it! The meat was a bit flavorless so next time I’d probably order a side of guac to mix things up a bit. Otherwise, the platter was perfect as is. There is also ample seating outside, so if you need an office escape and want some fresh air then this is a good move. Hopefully I can come back for another lunch next time I’m in SF!

FREAKINYUM! Loved this place in San Fran! What I really love is that they have outdoor seating with umbrellas. First off, when you arrive you will order at the counter. They have tacos, burritos, salads, chips, guacamole, salsa, etc. I ordered two tacos with chips and gwak. The asada taco was so moist and tender. Very flavorful! The pork taco was also amazing! So tasty! The guacamole was super fresh! Chunks of avocado ~ so amazing. We went at 12:30 in the afternoon and let me tell you, we didn’t have to wait! Gotta love that in downtown San Fran!

Holy Guacamole! My Carne Asada burrito was literally exploding with guacamole and sour cream; two of my favorite things ever. {Note: These heavenly items don’t come standard, I added them to their already fabulous burrito creation.} The burrito was also packed with black beans, pico & cheese. Did I mentioned the guacamole? ;) It’s amazing and you must, at the very least, order a side of guac & chips! I loved their salsa in the ‘squeeze’ bottles. I honestly wanted to squeeze it in my mouth, I couldn’t get enough. The chips were super fresh and I’m pretty positive that the corn tortillas are made right there on site! They also have a tequila bar if you feel like adding a snazzy spirit to the mix! Looking for a colorful, fun spot to grab lunch or dinner with a friend or coworker in the city? This is it! They also have a lovely {large} patio which is always a plus in beautiful Cali!

When it comes to taco lunching in SoMa, I’ll rarely turn down a trip with office-mates to Uno Dos Tacos. //I despise Chipotle so if colleagues want to lose me they know exactly where to go. //Garaje is basically the best thing ever but their cash only policy(despite having the technology to input orders on an iPad) makes it a thing I can only do if I prep my wallet in advance, which is pretty much never. //Uno Dos Tacos lands itself in between with tasty tacos, burritos, and salads that are affordable, quick, can be paid for by credit card and enjoyed on copious indoor/outdoor seating options. I love that their meals are filling(the burrito is the best bang for your buck) and that they have options for meat, fish, or veggie lovers doesn’t hurt either. If there’s a line it usually moves quickly and somehow the cashiers still manager to give each customer the attention they need, answer any questions, and make suggestions if you need ‘em. Definitely take advantage of the sauces on the tables if you dine in. I squirt that biz on my jam like there’s no tomorrow and it always tastes delicious despite the tendency of the veggie burrito to be kinda soupy sometimes(stupid healthy veggies).

Uno. Dos. Taco! That’s the speed of how fast your tacos are ready after you ordered and to your mouth! My team and I came here for taco tuesday and boy was it busy! The line was out the door but good thing it moved pretty fast! I got a pescado(fish $ 4.50) taco and a lengua(beef tongue $ 3.50) taco and they were both really good! The fish was crispy and with the lime and salsa was perfect. Remember to grab a lot of napkins because your tacos will be dripping with sauce and meat juice. We also got the chips and guac and their chips were freshly fried and hot when we got them. The guac was pretty standard and I wished the portion was more. They got a patio with umbrellas outside so it’s great when it’s a nice day out. Super busy during lunch hours and happy hours. Actually, this place is always crackin whenever I pass by so they must be that good! Plus a few points for being super close to where I work!

As soon as you turn onto 2nd at Market, an inviting outdoor patio with large yellow umbrellas immediately grabs your attention. When you step inside to order, the bustling atmosphere, upbeat music, and affordable options make Uno Dos Tacos a fun lunch destination in SoMa. It’s simple to order: you just choose your meat(beef/chicken/pork), fish, or veggie and then your preparation(taco, burrito, salad, or plate). I like the tinga chicken plate, which comes with homemade tortillas, salsa, and black beans. The margaritas are great, too! The staff is super friendly and the dishes are prepared quickly. With reasonable pricing(from $ 7 – 9) for a great lunch, Uno Dos Tacos scores in my book.

¿Que debo pensar a Uno Dos Tacos? No estoy seguro. Me gusta.

Stopped in here for a weekday lunch with a couple business partners from out of town. We came in around noon and while there was a line, it moved along quickly. The menu is like a pre-set Chipotle, where you pick your meat(pork, chicken, beef, veggie) and the form it comes in(bowl, tacos, salad, plate) — super, super quick! Prices are around $ 8, and the food you get will be way better than any $ 10 sandwich you’ll find in the area. Sit down with your buzzer and in 5 or so minutes you’ve got a bowl full of fresh, tasty grub. The tomatillo-based salsa they have is excellent, and chips are crispy without being oily. This is a lot like Tex-Mex food I cook at home — I’d be happy to come back here anytime. They play music indoors that can make having a serious business meeting a little ridiculous, so either grab a margarita and give up on that ish or take it outside to the picnic tables. There’s tons of seating — room for everyone! Check em’ out.

Such a deal! $ 8 – 9 for a big plate of upscale Mexican grub? I could get used to this. We went for lunch and were really impressed with the simple-to-navigate menu & spacious seating both inside and out. There’s also a bar area, which makes Uno Dos a great happy hour destination too. Basically, you pick your meat(or fish or veg), then pick a «style» to enjoy it in: taco, burrito, salad, or plate. Super easy to make a decision! I picked the vegetarian main + salad option; roasted veggies on farmers market lettuce(not just boring romaine), with black beans, queso fresco and guac(additional charge). Food was ready in about 5 mins, and we grabbed a nice table outside on their patio. Unlike most SOMA lunch spots, Uno Dos was not a crazy scene. In fact, it felt like a little oasis away from the city. For less than $ 10 per person, this is more than a great meal, but a darling little spot to put in the lunch rotation.

I’m still a little dismayed that this spot is a new place. I went to the old place on my first day of work at my current job. Six years ago. Also, I had about exactly 24 hours of experience in San Francisco and California that day. Uno Dos Tacos is adequate food, some drink options, above average service and cleanliness, and a great space in a good location. I come here for lunch on Saturdays because not a lot is open in this neck of the woods. I’ve had tacos all three times, and I always get a mix. The food is good quality, but a little dry. Clearly it’s not cheap meat, which can ruin a good taco. The side sauce is good, but you only get one option so far as I know. The tacos come with a small side of Black Beans which are tasty. I’ve tried Carne Asada, Chicken, and Carnitas tacos. I think this place really shines because of the space and location. And, for that matter, the availability on the weekend. The interior is spacious and open. The line and kitchen is completely unshielded, but you have plenty of space between it and the seating area. They also have a huge patio outside on 2nd(very close to Market). That’s where I ate my first ever lunch in SF. … Nostalgia. Two final notes: 1. They have alcohol, but it is at a separate counter from where you get food. Not sure what that’s all about. I’ve never drank here. 2. They have Breakfast Burritos during the week. Also, I’ve not tried. Yet. Soon.
