This has become my go to spot when I crave something greasy, cheesy, and amazing. It kind of reminds me of some good New York style pizza(East Coast doesn’t do much better than the west imo… but they got us on pizza). Village has been great when it comes to delivery, and the pizza is always hot and ready to eat. Make sure to ask for extra toppings because they don’t necessarily put a lot on unless you ask!

Sit down pizza by the slice. Came for lunch. Had the 10.99 lunch special of a slice, salad and drink. It came out quickly, has a thin crust, prompt service.

In my last day here at San Francisco, I decided to try the pizza here since it originated from I found this place to be pretty average. But the price is pretty high. I came here around 8:00PM as it was a 10 minute walk from the hotel and the pizzeria here closed at 11:00PM. Here’s my thoughts on the pizza here… Basic Facts– — I came here and ordered the«create your own» pizza. I got the 14 inch pizza with pepperoni, homemade meatballs, bacon, pineapple and mushrooms. — I also got the 10 piece buffalo wings. — Also one cheesecake for dessert. Pros– — The people working here was pretty nice to me! — Very unique with the choice to make your own pizza. I liked how I can customized my own pizza here. — Order the buffalo wings here. The buffalo wings here is very good but not spicy and hot like I thought it would be. Cons– — In my opinion, I felt like the wait was kind of long. But then again, I did ordered a lot so the wait was around 30 minutes. — I felt like the pizza was very… average. It didn’t really have a distinct taste that made it «different» from every other pizza store. — Very generous here. I ordered pizza and they gave me plates, forks, etc without me even asking! Helpful Tips– — Make sure to check into Unilocal when you get here. You get a free appetizer if you check in!

4 stars for the lovely waitress. Pizza was about average. I got single slice with pepperoni and mushroom. It was a little expensive. Over 5 bucks, although it might be average for area but ive had bigger slices in other joints in san fran. My brother mentioned it was my b day casually and waitress brought a lovely teramisu unexpectedly. That was great. So pizza was soso and other items seemed a little pricey but nice place overall with great staff.

Finding a good slice in San Francisco is difficult. SF does whole pies well at some places but an individual slice in my experience is usually pretty bad. Happy to have found village and can say that their by the slice as well as pies are fresh, well made and in general pretty awesome.

Great place for pie after a concert, especially when you’ve been walking ALL day. Great pie and service! With my girl after the KAM Show at the Masonic. Want a great, late Sunday night, after your kids just went to a concert pizza, this is your place.

I’m a HUGE pizza lover! And my boyfriend & I did a trip up to San Francisco, right after we checked in at our hotel(at The Payne Mansion Hotel — amazing place!)…we were super hungry & Village Pizzeria was the first place we went to in SF. Great pizza! I love that they have a build your own slice option! I’ve never seen that before haha(usually by the slice you can only get cheese or pepperoni). Nice classic pizza joint vibe, good beer options too! Loved this place :)

Ok let’s start this off by saying that I’m not over-picky when ordering late night. My usual places were closing so I gave this one a try. I can’t honestly tell you if the half and half pizza I ordered is any good because it was made so hurriedly with much indifference. First of all it was not made 50⁄50. It was more like 60⁄40 and the grease was not drained along with the toppings being unevenly splattered randomly. The cheese was barely existent and the pizza had been probably tipped sideways making a further mess. Not much more to say except I will make sure not to spend 37.00 for a pizza here in the future.

Very impressed. I was touring in San Francisco these past few days with my husband, my cousin and her husband on our mission to Crooked Street we saw they had pizza by the slice which was perfect cause we just wanted a snack so we walked in and ordered one slice with pepperoni. It was really good! I couldn’t get over it. The next day I actually contemplated driving back to this pizzeria before driving back home and ordering a whole pizza to go.

it’s good for a quick slice but i probably wouldn’t order food from here if i’m looking for a particularly delicious slice of pizza. it’s conveniently located and gets the job done.

Okay I’m giving this pizzeria 5 stars! I was actually debating between 4 to 5 but when I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order the Asian guy or he might be the owner was super nice! I loved how he appreciates his customer. He was very welcoming and genuine. I was actually surprised because I came there to only pick up my order. I only waited for 5 minutes, usually if I wait for my order the staff wouldn’t keep me posted with my food but he updated me with mine and how many more minutes I have to wait. Another plus was he called me by my first name! Here’s what we normally order: Clam garlic pizza– My favorite! A lot of garlic and a lot of clam! Very tasty! My Italian boyfriend approves! I asked him which clam garlic pizza is better Tony’s Napoletana or Village Pizzeria? He couldn’t choose because he said both have their own approach to this dish and both are just super good! I have to agree :) Buffalo wings– Spicy and hot! Typical buffalo wings, nothing too memorable about this dish. I just wanted to add wings in our order lol Garlic bread– This they need to improve on. I couldn’t taste much of garlic. I know we already ordered a pizza with garlic but I was hoping they could’ve added more garlic to this bread then it would have been epic! Overall, I really like this place and highly recommend it to everyone! I was craving for clam garlic pizza and this place definitely delivers! Consistent and delicious! As a matter of fact as of right now, my mouth feels like I’m craving for it again! My gawd! Writing this makes me hungry! !

BITEOFBACON is a must try. Hands down best slice of pizza I’ve had. Don’t get the wings. They don’t make them. They come from the freezer and put in the oven. Took one star off because the waiter gave us no attention.

A friend and I came in and ordered a medium pizza, half cheese and half pepperoni. We also got the garlic bread as our appetizer. The garlic bread came pretty quickly and you get a decent amount, but it was burnt. It seems like it could’ve been decent, but it was crunchy in areas yet soggy in some, and most of the edges and bottom were black. Then came our pizza. Again, portions are nice. But just like the bread, the pizza was burnt. The pepperoni slices were small and there weren’t that many. The entire pizza was pretty soggy and greasy too. I was even disappointed with my Arnold Palmer. Our bill came out to be $ 32. Mind you that my appetizer was free because I had the check-in coupon for a free appetizer. $ 32 for one medium pizza and an Arnold Palmer. Seems a bit steep. Which it was because the medium pizza was supposed to be $ 22, but we were charged almost $ 26. I will not be back here.

The pizza itself was pretty good. A little soggy and pepperoni very small over overall had tasty flavors and was crunchier towards the crust. Do not buy pizza by the slice here. I paid 14 $ for 2 slices of pizza. When I inquired the manager tried to explain the exorbitant price with a slough of excuses. «It’s a special type of pizza you can’t find anywhere else.» «This is actually a good deal for San Francisco.» «Pesto is considered specialty so automatically we charge 5.50 $ per pesto slice. Then we charge you per extra topping» This woman/manager was talking to me as if I haven’t lived in SF for the last 10 years and as if I had never had pizza before. The place was deserted. I’m assuming the only way this place has stayed afloat is because of its proximity to the Regency. Kudos on taking advantage of a bunch of drunken fools seeking a late night greasy snack. As I sit here eating the pizza right now I can confidently say I won’t be back. Good luck Village Pizzeria, you’re gonna need it…

I ordered a pesto bell pepper, mushroom and onion pizza with no red sauce through Grubhub. I was very disappointed in the way the pesto sauce was distributed. The sauce was non existent basicly with very little pesto sauce. I called Gruhub to complain and was told the reason why the sauce was barely on the pizza is because the sauce is thin. What? I’ve had pesto pizza many times. THAT is the worst excuse to tell a pizza lover. I have eaten at both locations Clement and VanNess and never had a complaint til now. The only reason I gave the VanNess location 2 stars is because of the underminding of my pizza intelligence. Management didn’t want to give credit through Grubhub. Only directly through Village Pizza. I guess I shouldn’t complain at least he offered. Still waiting to speak to someone at this location about my credit. It’s ashame I only get to write reviews when im really peeved. There are many great restaurants that deserve positive reviews I have been too.

We stopped into the Village before a show at the regency. Wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Good thin crust pizza with a little chewiness to the crust that I really liked. Fresh toppings and ample amounts of cheese. Local Anchor Steam on tap was the perfect match for our combo pie. The service was very business like, which for us was all good. So when we are back for a show at the regency we will defiantly be back for a beer at the very least.

I order online often for work, it’s easy to navigate through the ordering screens and customize your own pizzas. We usually purchase around 8 pizzas of different kinds and throw in a pesto one because they are so good. They are always on time, although I order them early before they open and have them delivered for lunch They come complete with paper plates, napkins, peppers and parmesan cheese which is good.

I’ve had thousands of pizza places, here in the states and in Italy, and Villa Pizzeria is one of the worse. The food — I tried the $ 5.50 per regular sized slice(very expensive, even for the area) clam and garlic slice and it DISAPPOINTED. The clam was almost impossible to eat, overly chewy and the garlic was nowhere to be found. The crust was cardboard-y. Yuck. The combo slice $ 4.75 was boring as well. Lacked any depth or flavor. At least both were made to order, but I would have rather have Little Caesar’s. Service was friendly, but doesn’t tell you if you need to seat yourself or wait for them to be seated. They also somehow forgot I already ordered when I went to pay despite having sat in front of them for 20 mins trying to eat my horrible pizza. At least they did have NFL network showing the football game. I won’t be back. If it wasn’t for a storm, I had 100 pizza options within walking distance that could have been better.

Decent Slice from Village Pizzeria Walking from work to catch a movie at opera Plaza, I’d had Village Pizzeria bookmarked as a potential grab & go spot for a slice & finally got around to giving them a try 1 slice of Cheese Pizza Slices were largish in size & there was an abundance of stringy-pulling cheese. Sauce was flavorful & even though this is a NY-Style pizza & I usually prefer the thicker crust varieties, I found myself liking this slice a lot Thanks for the quick, on the go snackie!
