The décor is kinda crazy, but he’s a great Dr./Acupuncturist. He’s a medical doctor and it was the acupuncture/cupping I have been looking for. Keep in mind that this isn’t a high-end, plush spa but I felt amazing after my session. So much so, that I’ve got him booked on the weekly.

Dr. Wang was on the list of Primary Care Providers I had to choose from, given to me by my new HMO, Chinese Community Health Plan. I chose him because in addition to being an MD he is an acupuncturist. My health plan came into effect on January 1st. I called his office on the 2nd and he answered his own phone and I got an appointment that day! I found him to be a nice, friendly and jovial guy. When he was taking my history I told him I was born in Minnesota. He said; «Minnesota! Oh, I was accepted to do a residency at the Mayo Clinic. I visited in January, but It was too cold. I could not live there for four years.» I was impressed because the Mayo Clinic is right up there with Harvard, Stanford and UCSF. I also think he’s doubly smart for not going. I needed to see a specialist and after I left Dr. Wan’g office the specialist’s office called me within an hour and set up an appointment for 3 days later! Choosing a new doctor and a new health plan can be an endeavor fraught with trepidation. I figured if I didn’t like him, I could always switch. Same goes for the Health Plan. Under Covered California, I had until March to switch plans. The whole thing is a bit of a crap shoot, and I feel like I rolled double 7s with Dr. Wang.
