Alright, I have to update my previous review and give Wicked Grounds 5 stars. Factoring out all potentially uncomfortable adult activities, it’s just a really great coffee shop with incredibly friendly service. I’m hooked onto the Affogato(there’s a chocolate ice-cream option — usually it’s just vanilla!) and Mocha Breve, which is saying something because I generally hate coffee even if its flavored and sweetened.

Highly niche café with cool baristas and merchandise. While their milkshakes are a bit too thick for my taste, the coffees wonderful and it’s definitely a neighborhood gem. They also have a pretty extensive menu for a small café, so it’s a great place to go if you also have the munchies!

Yet another location where I find myself thinking«only in San Francisco». I’ve been asking my friends for coffee shop suggestions, in my quest to find my favorite café in the city. A number of them suggested this one, usually with a smirk or a knowing look. None of them told me any details beyond the fact that I’d «really like it there». Either my friends have similar sense of humor, or they all think I’m into bdsm. Either way, I’m not offended. The exterior is nothing special. I was surprised when I encountered the 18+ sign. I was more surprised to find a rainbow array of ropes, leather bodywear, and paddles – all for purchase. The walls are decked with artwork. I couldn’t stop thinking the phrase«tasteful nudes» from one of my favorite scenes in Moonrise Kingdom. Still baffled, I finally read the tagline«a bdsm themed café» and it all fell into place. Oh. Ohhhhhh. The barista was super nice, and we chatted for a bit. I got a coffee and sat there reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn undisturbed for a few hours. That is the beauty of a space where there are no children. Tongue and cheek jokes aside, it is a really positive atmosphere. The wifi code is «consent» which made me smile. I dock one star, because the coffee itself was just okay, but I definitely plan on coming back. I’ve heard wonderful mumblings about the lychee iced tea. Maybe I’ll come to a workshop and learn how to be knotty. (Hehehe)

This place is awesome. Tired of a boring regular coffee shop? Looking for a place where you can be yourself without fear of judgement? You found it. Want a vegan milkshake? Want to crawl around like an animal? Want some peace and free internet to work or surf the web? You found it. Plus the baristas sing your order when it is up! Really, what more can you want? Also, check out erobay for listing of Munches held at Wicked Grounds. Munches are an awesome place to get together with likeminded people and talk about thinks while you munch on something. I help run a Curious Kinksters munch. They also have everything else from Kinky Entrepreneurs to FTM Munch and more!

This place is really wonderful. I am addicted to the vegan chai milkshake. It has great food and is a wonderful place to hang out on your computer and get work done. It reminds me of old school coffee shops. My new fav place.

If you love great coffee, kink and vegan bakery goods this place is for you! I stopped in at lunch for a latte and didn’t notice the«kink» part. As I’m waiting for my coffee I start looking around and notice a cage and a large variety of paddles of the ass beating variety. I bought a vegan strawberry lemonade cupcake and vegan chocolate pretzel pie. Both reasonably priced and delicious, latte was amazing as well and they offer almond milk. This place is awesome, I’ll be back! Captain Boner even waved goodbye! I love Frisco…

I’ve been wanting to visit Wicked Grounds for nearly a year now because the entire idea of this place is just so San Francisco– open-minded, hella progressive, local business that is all about community. I went in around 10am and there were several other folks in the café, internetting, reading, and just hanging out. It was a nice atmosphere. The staff person working was super friendly and helpful. I ordered an ice latte and a homemade waffle. Both were delicious and although the waffle was a bit pricey, it hit the spot. Also, yay free internet! I think I found«my» café/coffee shop.

5 stars for originality and for maintaining a presence while a bunch of other original SF establishments have been getting slowly pushed out. I’ve heard of the kink factor here but honestly, when it is close to 80’s degree in-house, I barely paid any attention to the prancing ponies and collared clientele spread through the space. On that note, they have great espressos(latte) was extremely smooth and the perfect fix for my slow degradation of attention. In addition, my friends had their house paninis and they looked amazing. I’d definitely return for one of those. In all, a great visit. Sweet baristas and overall relaxed vibe = 5 stars.

I came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon because I didn’t realize Pinky’s bakery closed at 3pm, and I was waiting for my boyfriend to come out of an appointment. «Drat,» I thought to myself. «Now where will I read my book in peace?» As I walked back to my car, I realized I parked right in front of Wicked Grounds, a Kink Café. Being San Franciscan, I didn’t think twice about it. Did they have food? Did they have drinks? Did they have tables where I could sit and read my book? Yes on all counts. This place is pretty cool. It’s informative about the kinks they offer on one side of the store, and the food and drinks are pretty darn good. Plus, the cashier was really nice! I came in, thinking I’d only be there for a short while, so I only ordered a lemonade. However, they have a $ 5 minimum for cards, so I panicked for a moment(I may have also panicked because I look young. I’m just Asian. I always look young until I reach menopause), but she just smiled and said she could open a tab for me. A tab! At a place where I usually would just order teas and lemonades! Awesome. So convenient! So I grabbed a menu, sat at a table with my freshly made strawberry lemonade, and noticed a GIANTSHELFFILLEDWITHBOARDGAMES. And not just Monopoly. Proper games, like Dominion and Arkham Horror! It was simply amazing. I looked at the menu and ordered a pizza bagel, which admittedly took a long time, but I was busy enjoying my book and perusing the board game shelf and the rainbow-colored hemp ropes, so it’s not like I wasn’t being kept busy while waiting. They also have excellent hours. If ever I feel like reading with a pot of loose leaf tea at a café at 6pm, I can just come here. Sure, it’s may not be the prim and proper décor one is used to when going into a tea shop for a cuppa and an hour to read, but it’s actually quite nice in there. I suppose it wouldn’t be a good idea to bring those who are not open-minded, though. Or maybe you bring them here in order to become open-minded. In any case, it’s a great place to read during the afternoon as it was relatively quiet.

4 stars! 1– awesome ambience, lots of chill people here and friendly baristas! Great music too. 2– good variety of food and drinks. I got the LYCHEEICEDTEA and i will definitely return for that! Also, heard the mocha is great. Berry chocolate cupcakes look homemade, definitely a plus. 3– merchandise! Tons of fun stuff to look at and you can read the books while you are enjoying your food/drink. 4– games! Theres a HUGE shelf full of fun games, some u probably havent heard of before. Creates a good social atmosphere and nice to see people actually using them! No 5th star because the chairs were honestly super uncomfortable and the tables probably havent been wiped down many times today, pretty sticky.

We didn’t spend too long in here, only because we were waiting for the Sales Dept at SF Moto next door, but the café drinks at Wicked Grounds are very very good! I had the lychee iced tea, which was a black tea with a fruity/floral note from the lychee. It had a touch of sweetness to it, so I didn’t add anything further. It was nice and refreshing on a hot afternoon! The iced mocha my boyfriend ordered was by far the best iced mocha I’ve had. I don’t know what kind of kinky magic they put in there but damn. So delicious. They have food offerings as well, and I definitely want to come back and try some if it’s as good as their drinks are!

I’ve been coming to Wicked Grounds for a couple of years now, and when I think of a coffee shop to go to in San Francisco, Wicked Grounds is the first to pop up in my mind. It is far from the standard sleek, yet generic coffee shop – it really feels like a home you can just relax and hang out in, a sanctuary for kinksters just chilling out and working. This isn’t a play space, though there are plenty of rope classes held here. In addition to the drinks and food(which are generally decent, but nothing astounding), there are lots of BDSM wares for sale: toys, ropes, floggers, cards, t-shirts, and BOOKS! They carry kink books that you wouldn’t see in standard book stores, and you can even flip through them. This is a great place to bring(open-minded) friends as well. There are shelves of games that you can just choose from and play. Cards Against Humanity is a personal favorite of mine, hehe. Basically, Wicked Ground stands out more for the novelty(ahem, BDSM coffee shop, how many of those are there around the world, really?) than their food and drinks, but I come here because it is a haven for like-minded weirdos. :)

An inclusive, safe place in the city encouraging positive messages about BDSM, kink, sexuality consent and more. Also supports local artists(there is always interesting and beautiful art to be found) as well as creating community with things like meet ups and munches. My only complaint is that the food and coffee feels a tad overpriced and always breaks my bank a bit. I’d understand if the food was incredible but it’s pretty standard. However, their coffee milkshakes and waffles with strawberries are very yummy. There is wifi. There are outlets. There is always interesting conversation going on around you, I guarantee it. For sure a fantastic place to appreciate the cool and diverse crowd attracted to it. Great for building community, learning cool things, lazy afternoons and decent coffee. Whether you’re a regular kinkster or curious for some details, this is a charming little place to drop by. For the open minded, of course.

When I was here last, it took a very long time to make two macchiatos, but whatever. I always appreciate that they’re open late and it’s a unique atmosphere, obviously, that helps you feel more comfortable than the average Macbook café.

Excellent espresso, and amazing desserts. Affogatos just fantastic. Service usually fairly expedient. A couple staff are incredibly slow however. I never drop by when I’m in a hurry. Though once you see the relaxing ambience, why be in a hurry?

Ordered a harvest salad and a caprese panini that came with a soup to-go. $ 26. It took well over 40 minutes to get, which is annoying but maybe they’re short handed and it seemed the girl making my salad was new because she kept reading something while making it. This was the saddest salad and panini I’ve ever seen. The panini was done at least 10 minutes before the salad, was smushed and falling apart and by the time we got to eat the panini was super soggy. My harvest salad was mostly greens, maybe like two walnuts total and only a few pieces of cucumber and avocado. Not even sure my dressing made it on there. I tossed it after eating all the peppers, avocado and cucumber because the greens tasted awful. Not worth the price or the time it took.

Had a chance to check out Wicked Grounds and I was super excited to see that they had an 18 hour cold brew under the fancy section. It cost about $ 3.20 and in a small cup but I was more than ready to try their version of a cold brew. And… It was extremely watered down. The coffee was in color of a tint green/brown and it tasted like tea. I didn’t see that they had tea on their menu so I wasn’t going to think the barista had mistaken. Either way, I thought it was their style of coffee so I sipped on it as we waited for my friends latte. The barista was really kind and told us that there was another espresso drink before ours. So we waited… And waited… And waited… She then first calls a drink order of an ice mocha 30 minutes later… Which we found strange. 45 minutes in the wait and she said what I had predicted, «I am sorry… I forgot» and bowed. She offered to make him one on the house(but we asked for to-go) and said she can make him another one on his way out. Which, didn’t take her as long the second time.

Let me first warn you that this is not your average coffee shops. Don’t bring children or any of your conservative friends here because it may not go over so well with them. Wicked Grounds is a coffee shop with a BDSM/Bondage theme. They have decent coffee and a few food items but I would recommend coming here to people watch. The patrons here are very unique to say the least. They have photos and art work depicting bondage and drowning. They also have a few sex toy type items in the glass case along with shirts and some other merchandise. We also found several flyers for sex related events in the community. There was even one for a male masturbation workshop… We were able to sit down and play a game of pornopoly, which is like monopoly but with interesting properties like lube and condom factories or porn production companies.
