Excellent tapas & service await your next unique gastronomic experience. The bread pudding and ribs were simply delicious. Coupled with the Shoe Box Syrah, my wife and I departed the planet. On New Years Eve, our tastebuds soared!

This place is amazing. Pick anything from their menu and enjoy. Their dishes sound ‘interesting’ but are delicious. Great wine selection too. And the atmosphere was mellowing enjoyable.

My husband and I visited the Wine Kitchen last night for a leisurely dinner before a concert at the Independent. We had a really great experience, hence the 5 star review. Here are the details: We chose to go to the Wine Kitchen over some of the other tapas places in the neighborhood because of the great ½ off bottles of wine promo on Mondays. It was definitely worth it, as we got a $ 48 bottle of Reisling for $ 24, woohoo! The service was attentive, but not bothersome. Our waiter was cordial, but I told him we were taking our time, so he left us to our date night as we made our way through the plates. The other server came to check on us, give us water, see if we needed anything, so we were well taken care of. My only complaint was that we were served the wrong Riesling, but I didn’t realize until we had already opened the bottle and tasted it. I’m pretty easygoing, so I just rolled with it, as I enjoyed the Riesling we were given. The food was definitely 5⁄5. We ordered the mussels with bacon/apple/cream sauce, pork belly with roasted beets/cabbage/carrots, and the chicken confit with herb gnocchi/ham/wild mushrooms for dinner. Everything was very delicious, and we felt that we got what we paid for. The mussels were a little overpowered by the bacon, but went very well with our Riesling. We requested extra rustic bread to dip in the sauce when we finished, which was nice and hearty. The pork belly was so so so good, and was really well complemented by the roasted veggies. The chicken confit gave the belly a run for its money, as the chicken was so amazingly tender on the inside, with a delicate crispy skin on the outside. We both loved the handmade gnocchi, too; it was nice and pillowy and paired well with the mushrooms and ham. Afterwards, we finished our bottle of wine, allowing ourselves to digest for a bit. We finished the meal with the maple cheesecake topped with quince, which we both enjoyed(hubby tried to steal the last bite!). It’s less of a cake and more of a cheesecake cup, but we liked that. The maple glaze really took it to the next level. Overall, we had a really lovely date here. Relaxing environment, great food, and nice wine deals on Monday. Would definitely return!

we recently went there for a company gathering and loved the Syrah, Terre Rouge… and the food was amazing… among my favorites were the Brussels Sprouts, which were divine… the Bread Pudding with a Mushroom and Chesnut flavoring that just lit my taste buds… The Trout was just as yummy. Great treasure in this neighborhood, will definitely come back :)…

PORKBELLY. Holy SH!* it was AMAZING. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, generous portions. Paired perfectly with the sauce and beets in the dish. We also had their wine on tap. Sounds janky but it tasted really good– the server convinced us! No complaints. Low-key wine & tapas, It’s the perfect place for an intimate date night.

Wish we lived closer! Ok, we’re not that far away but Divisadero during rush hour? I’ll choose my adventures wisely. Wine Kitchen is my kind of wine bar. The ambiance is inviting, music is appropriate, not too crowded. Low, warm lighting, friendly, attentive staff. I could go on… The wine was enjoyable. They have a decent list of many varietals, although a limited selection by the glass. Happy hour is until 6pm, $ 3 beers and $ 7 wines. The bartender happily let me sample a few before making decisions. Love that. We also noshed on the cheese plate. Can’t really go wrong with some wine, cheese, good company and a relaxing environment.

DISCLAIMER: I did not eat the actual food here, just the wine. My review would have been a bit more lenient if I tried the food and it indeed turned out to be delicious. Wine Kitchen had a nice atmosphere and the food on the menu looked amazing, but the main thing that I didn’t appreciate was the bartender’s attitude. He asked my friend and I several times within a 5 – 10 minute span if we would like to order something and asking when our other friend would come. He might have been annoyed because we didn’t sit at the bar tables but instead sat at the actual tables which was for customers eating, but the place wasn’t too crowded and there wasn’t a shortage of seats or tables or even a line outside. He was curt and seemed irritated the whole time. Overall it was not an enjoyable atmosphere and the food and drinks were overpriced.

We ordered everything on the menu except for the salad. For appetizers, we got the almonds and olives Abe pinot on tap. The pinot was very good. I love the tuna and lamb entrees the best. Super savory and delicious. Everything else was also good. We got the tempura, clams, sweetbread. We got a bottle of Syrah that paired well with the meat entrees. I personally like the Pinot more than the Syrah. The service was great! This place is awesome! I’ll definitely come back.

Cute little place right next to Alamo Square. It was a very nice touch and classy feel to it. When you enter the restaurant it feels like you have escaped the craziness of divisadero street and into a very comfortable and quate restaurant. I would recommend it for a casual first/second date or group dining experience.

I really like this place for a quiet dinner with friends. You order tapas style and then everyone gets to eat a little bit of everything at a leisurely pace. The food is simple and tasty and lots of things are vegetable-centric. The wine on tap is always good. And most importantly, it’s QUIET inside so you can actually talk. The atmosphere is relaxed and the pace of service is good(not too rushed, not too inattentive). The wait for four is also never that bad. My favorite things(they change their menu regularly so some things might not be there): — spiced almonds — brussel sprouts — maitake mushrooms on seared polenta(this was surprising tasty despite being simple) — little gem lettuce with creamy tarragon and tangerines Overall, not mindblowingly delicious or innovative that I would give 5 stars, but always enjoyable and reasonably priced.

Not sure how I feel about this place. Cool atmosphere but food wasn’t my favorite. It’s tapas style, so my group got the Brussels sprouts, fried chicken, scallops, and lamb sausage. The Brussels sprouts were the only amazing dish out of all the ones we ordered. I would definitely get these again. The scallops were decently good, but I didn’t like the fava beans and chorizo in them. The lamb sausage was random and I wasn’t a fan, nor am I huge fan of the spaghetti squash underneath them. The fried chicken had a ginger sesame sauce on it which was really random. The wine was good, but wine is always good :) It was a fun experience, but not necessarily my favorite restaurant in SF

Came here with a party of six and enjoyed a well-paced meal where we got to try a little bit of everything. The bottle prices were quite reasonable and service was friendly and attentive. I loved the poutine(so much that we ordered a second one) as well as the brussel sprouts and the leek bread pudding. For dessert the ice cream that came along with the spice cake(«lola sonoma burnt honey ice cream») was delightful with my glass of port. Really enjoyed the low key vibe.

I went here on a Saturday night with two of my friends. I came a bit earlier, but was able to get seated right away. The waitress was very patient and friendly. Food and service were great! The veal dish was my absolute favorite! So fatty, but so yummy. I would go back again if I were in the area.

Met up with some friends here for a midweek dinner. The wine list is broad and well-priced and the space is intimate without being suffocating. I actually really enjoyed the setting. We shared the poutine, which was not my favorite but mostly because when I eat poutine I want to drown in gravy and fat and when confronted with elevated poutine I would rather watch it on TV while gorging on full-pouted poutine. The veal breast I ordered was pretty amazing though. It’s my first time having veal breast prepared like this: cut and roasted almost like pork belly. I’m used to having it flattened and pounded and at times, breaded. I loved this dish, it’s a softer and more tender version of pork belly without as much fat. I’ll definitely be back here.

Sweet, intimate atmosphere with great service — very knowledgeable about the wines and food on the menu. Highly recommend: — the scallops(flavorful and seasoned nicely) — the fried zucchini blossoms(loved the pepper salsa dressing with the cheese and zucchini) — the sangiovese(local red wine on tap) The duck was slightly too chewy but was still pretty tasty. Make reservations on Friday/Saturday nights! Unlike many other tapas places, the duck plate was substantial, and same goes for the pork confit plate according to the server. Excited to try their other starters and the gnocchi when I come back next!

For a wine bar I was impressed with their menu offerings. From their bacon jam/egg salad on toast, the English black pudding to their deep fried peppers stuffed in burrata cheese. I wasn’t however that impressed with their gnocchi. Service was great. Our server was engaging, watched over our table and was timely. Their menu also boasts a decent selection of red and white wines. It gets quite packed around 7:30 so if you want a quieter place to yourself(like we had) I’d recommend coming in earlier.

Went here on my birthday and LOVESIT! It’s such a low-key cool spot where you can easily walk in on your own, sit at the bar and get a drink. Or, make it a group affair and reserve a dinner table in the front. I personally like the bar area better. Service is really stellar and you can just as easily order wine + bar bites in the bar area as you could at a table. And speaking of the bites… They’re GOOD! You gotta try the cauliflower puffs and the fava beans. And I heard that the popcorn(with bacon) is cool too. I’m looking forward to returning and sitting for a full-on dinner-dinner. Until then, I have to offer one more tip for PARKING! Get there before 7pm if you can so you can swing a spot right in front :)

The flavors on the menu bounce of each other in a battle for dominance, but after you pair that with the correct drink everything settles down. The initial smell when I went in here for the first time was overwhelming, it sort of put me off until I started to try all the food. I suggest Investing in some ventilation. None the less this place is amazing. The Pumpkin Gnocchi is absolutely amazing, every single bite leads to a new discovery of combined flavors. The goat cheese gives such an added depth. The Marinated Mussels are super flavorful and go great with any beer on the menu. The Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives, not sure how we feel about these. Maybe mixed with some beer nuts? I also had the Monte Sammy, I felt like the flavors were a bit over kill. The Huckleberry Jam is amazing, but it was just to much with the powdered sugar. One interesting note, this place seems totally family friendly. I feel like I could bring the kid. I see babies and young children having a good time as well.
