I love this place. They have all the treats I need a few blocks from home. Friendly staff who always recognize me and know what I’m after.

Yick’s Liquors has an unequaled selection of microbrews. not a large inventory but some brews not seen anywhere else(almanac beer, hanger 24). some priced, mostly unpriced. brew: «orange wheat:» hanger 24(4.99) –interesting orange tangy brew, not a fav of fruit drinks. –only 4.6% alcohol drips: –friendly, quick checkout –unsure of pricing of most beers, no pricing 3.5 stars

Service and Selection! I can’t believe how friendly and helpful the staff is at Yick’s. I’ve only been a handful of times since my wife and I moved to the Excelsior and each time they have been amazing. They’ve let me bring my bike in and helped me pick out a six pack. Each time I check out they are so grateful for the business you would think I was the only person in the shop. I can’t say it is an especially cheap place to buy craft brews, but the selection is far beyond what you would expect and the other goods and groceries are on point as well. Really, Yick’s is a model liquor store.

Yicks Liquors is run by a very nice family and I do business with them everyday and they give me a line of credit bc they understand. The two brothers, George and Sammy are very nice people and the business is located at the corner of mission and Persia. response Also, there food is a

Friendliest men in the world. They love their customers like family. And since this location is often a place where the town drunks hang out I really admire their patience and understanding. Also please don’t judge the shop by the fact that a few boozers tend to dwell there. Everyone I meet here is pleasant, if occasionally Shlitz faced. Sam & George are my good friends. Plus they love my dog and will feed him pepperoni sticks on the house! Again: great folks! FIVE stars and that’s a fact.

I was waiting in line behind a lady with a mental illness. She was making a purchase and there was some difficulty because she wanted to buy some potato salad, but she couldn’t understand that they were out. The worker who was helping her was(understandably) frustrated, but this review is not about him — this review is for the man at the other register who ended up helping me. While I was paying, he started making fun of the woman, imitating her rather gravelly, strained voice. I found this not only incredibly insensitive, but downright cruel — she obviously does not have the intellectual capacity most people do and is struggling because of it(if she can’t comprehend and process that they were all out of potato salad, she probably is not capable of staying employed or living independently). Why mock someone who is disabled and suffering? What does one gain from that — AMUSEMENT!!! Does this guy throw rocks at kids with cerebral palsy, blind people with canes, and elders in wheelchairs, too? Effff that ish and effff that guy. I am never shopping here ever again. And besides…$ 2.25 for a strawberry shortcake Good Humor bar? Talk about overpriced.

Yick’s Liquors is one of the best convenience stores I’ve been to and the owners are very friendly. The aisles may be a little bit cramped but they do have a wide variety of chips, snacks, beverages, and frozen treats there. When I’m at the bus stop across the street waiting for the 29 to get to school, I’d come here for a bag of chips and a bottle of soda in a moment of hunger and thirst!

Love this place. I have been coming here since I was a kid. The owners always remember me and are super sweet. I make it a point when I am in the neighborhood to stop in and say hello. You should too :0)

This is around the corner from my friend’s place, so she comes here often. she has had a loyalty towards them since a little run in with safeway a few months back. some out of town friends wanted to buy a few bottles of alcohol to take back to canada with them, i guess the taxes are a little higher there. the«cashier supervisor» on duty at safeway said she had to purchase the items from him. he asked for id, but when she brought out her canadian driver’s license, he claimed he couldnt accept it. so she went digging in her purse for her passport, and he blurted out, «forget about it, we dont sell to foreigners.» what? as if sf is a bastion of white native-borns? the whole situation tickles me. anyways, she took the friend to Yick’s, and got the same stuff for just a few dollars more, and the cashier was super nice.

I have lots of fond memories about Yick’s. I’ve been going to this place since I was in Middle School, and visit here every now and then whenever I need a phone card or a refreshing beverage. Yick’s carries a large selection for whatever you need, and the guys behind the counter are cool when you get to know them. Yick’s will always have a place in my heart.

i’ve been going here since i was probably about 5 years old, since the 29 and 54 stops right here. i always used to buy sour powers, now i usually buy schlitz, THECLUB™ piña colada’s, pork cracklins, bandanas, hats, black and milds, or sometimes the occasional hyphy juice that i proceed to bring across the street to bottoms up and mix it with a 1-cup of sake. my sister once beat a girl to a pulp in front of this liquor store and she also has had her car car jacked from here right here also. always good times.

Yick’s may have a large selection for a corner store, but if you are a girl than the owner will probably give you a hard time. At least, he always gives me a hard time, yet I go back because it is close to my house. He’s basically a creep– but they do have a lot of candy, and a decent beer selection, and whatnot.

Yick’s Liquors isn’t your typical dark and dingy corner store — the aisles are a little cramped, but there is a HUGE selection of stuff in the spacious store space, so you’ll definitely find what you need. They have an entire aisle devoted to all kinds of different candy and the entire front of the store(where the cashier is located) is lined with freezers that have a huge variety of frozen foods and ice cream/popsicles to choose from. They have a lot of chilled drinks in the refrigerators in the back of the store too. Sometimes there are some scary-looking tough guys hanging out in front of the store, but don’t let that stop you from going in to get what you need!

This place is a landmark in the Excelsior District. For those who’ve lived here long enough, Yick’s is built where Doggy Diner once stood. Well, their old location was half a block futher down Mission, but their new location is the old Doggy Diner. Yick’s is conveniently located on the corner of Mission and Persia, right at the 29 Sunset bus stop. Their store is clean, biggish, and full of non-expired goods. When you run out of ice, milk, canned peas, malt liquor, this place is a God send. I’ve known the owners since I was just a little kid, and they’re some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet. I used to buy baseball cards from them, and I’m pretty sure you still can! All I can say is that this place is cool. Grab a handmade sandwich and some chips, then cross the street and hit up Bottom’s Up(see my review). You can’t beat that combo!
