WOW, absolutely love the baked pork buns, steamed buns and the shrimp w/mushroom dim sum! The best in China town. Great affordable prices. A must stop anytime you are in San Francisco.

I had few memories of this place as it was on Stockton Street. However, it was moved to Broadway because of the Central Subway Project. Although there were limited seating, the dim sum tasted good. Overall, they offer good food but limited seating. In the end, they remodeled it and renamed it as Dim Sum Bistro.

the Best Pork Buns I’ve had anywhere. their pork buns really caught me by surprise. it was that good that I had to eat them with my eyes closed. $ 1.40 each, $ 1.25 each if you buy 5. it will worth every single penny you spend.

A friend of mine introduced me to this place in college. I still dream about it today. if you want a cheap meal come here, but be ready to know what you want because the ladies behind the counter speak little english and ain’t got time for no nonsense, and if you sit there for too long without ordering a local will come up behind you and start ordering in Chinese. In addition to the other little dumplings i’d always get a rice ball, a baked pork bun. so delicious.

Originally my friend and I were going to go to Lai Hong Lounge, which is located quite close to this shop, but the wait was a bit long, and we were a bit crunched on time so we passed on Lai Hong Lounge, and decided to stop at the first dim sum shop we found. And so we stumbled upon You’s Dim Sum. Looks like your average run of the mill to-go dim sum shop, and from the outside, you can look in and see some of the dim sum goodies they have to offer. My friend and I decided to get two turnip cakes, two BBQ pork buns, 4 shrimp dumplings, and a rice porridge to share. Total cost was $ 7.50 I believe, which is an amazing bang for your buck. The lady serving us asked if we wanted it to-go or for here, and we decided to eat inside the shop. It wasn’t the cleanest of places, but it was decent, and there is soy sauce and hot chili available at each table to eat with the dim sum. Overall, everything was absolutely delicious. I haven’t really been to any other dim sum shops in China Town, so I can’t compare, but based on taste and price, I really enjoyed my experience at You’s Dim Sum.

Whenever I go to Chinatown and can’t decide on where to snack, You’s ultimately ends up being the place. The food is decent and cheap. You can come out with a lot for $ 10. I’m not sure what they’re officially called, but the sticky rice balls are good. It’s like fried rice rolled into a ball and held together in a wrapper. The char siu bao is my favorite item. The bun is nice and fluffy and the char siu sauce is good. The place isn’t the cleanest, but the service is usually memorable in some way. Like the time my friend asked for a fork and was yelled at. Still, we come back.

This is perhaps the worst dim sum food I’ve ever had. The dim sum food were all lukewarm /cold, and the bbq pork bun were full of fat(also cold). I also had major stomachache after eating it… Definitely not clean at all. I brought my family and friends here because I was told they had great bbq pork buns, but I should’ve know… Should’ve trusted the 3 star rating and went elsewhere. Argh.

Quick and cheap. The food is also pretty good. I like that it’s authentic, we saw a woman handmaking making shu mai in the back.

Reliable basic dim sum. Know what you want before you are served. Take away best since tables not regularly wiped down in dining area.

Traditional chinatown– hand made, not fancy and cheap. I am not chinese and I love this place and will walk 20 min to get there when I am in town. I have only been there at about 7am for breakfast. If you are not used to the small non push cart style of Dim Sum then I would compare this to «street food». You see the guys in the back hand making the dumplings. Place is small with only a few tables. Steamed pork buns– Char Siu Bao are the stand out here and a must have. Last time I went I got 2 pork buns, some shumai, and a shrimp dish + a box of 8 pork buns to take out and my bill was $ 9. One time I did try the breakfast that the older crowd was eating which was rice and knuckle meat in a metal bowl but I rather the traditional Dim Sum. You really need to enjoy traditional China Town and Dim Sum but if you do you will be rewarded.

Best baked char sui bao I’ve had in SF, hands down. Granted, they’re not as cheap as other spots in the neighborhood($ 1.40 for one), they are huge and packed with BBQ pork. It’s literally like eating a pulled pork for breakfast. The handful of times I’ve come, the ladies behind the counter speak perfect English and are super nice. Whether you choose to get it to dine in or to-go, they still give it to you in a bag… Which doesn’t make a lot of sense. I mean, why ask if i’m going to get a bag regardless. When i’m feeling extra hungry and need a cheap, fast fix… You cant go wrong. Tip: cash only(duh)

Best baked char sui bao I have had in Chinatown! I love the massive amounts of pork filling that they put inside each bun. The other dim sum, including the shrimp dumpling and shu mai were okay, nothing you are missing out on if you decide to try another dim sum stand in Chinatown. I noticed the prices here are higher compared to other joints like Wing Sing. I would just come here for the baked BBQ bun and get my other dim sum assortment elsewhere.

Loved it today for lunch. First, 20 dol fed 2 adults and two preteens plenty. Second, the food was fresh and tasty. Shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, egg rolls, sticky BBQ pork buns. Third, yes, it’s a hole in the wall, but everyone was friendly and helpful, and we just ordered what was in front of us. Furthermore, we had a pleasure of watching the dumplings made in the back for a few min. I would eat there every day if I could.

Not a fan I’m afraid. Came here and had a really uncomfortable meal(I really wish I went next door instead!). ~ Atmosphere: This place is the epitome of «hole in the wall». To be completely honest it’s probably the dingiest restaurant I’ve ever been to in the United States. My chair was massively shaky, the chili sauce at the table was wide open exposed to the elements, and everything seemed to be covered with some kind of sticky substance. This place certainly needs a good wash because it’s really uncomfortable eating here, especially using their metal bowls that still have water in them from being washed. However, I’m a firm believer in not taking atmosphere into consideration when reviewing a place if the food and/or customer service is fantastic. Unfortunately, both those areas fell flat. ~ Customer Service: Luckily, I speak Cantonese and I’m familiar with dim sum already. If you possess neither of those qualities you’re in for a tough time lol. I highly recommend coming with someone who can show you the ropes because they don’t even have a lick of English on the menu. ~ Food: I’ll agree with other reviewers in saying the food is really cheap; 20 bucks fed 5 people for lunch. However the food was disappointing. A lot of it was either too cold, too stale, our way too greasy. The only reason why I’m not giving 1 star is because I do genuinely enjoy the Har Gao(Shrimp Dumplings). — If I ever come here again, it’ll probably just be for getting their Har Gao to go. Other than that, no thanks.

Although knowing how to speak Chinese and speak it well is highly recommended, it’s not really an absolute must. I stumbled upon this place because I couldn’t order anywhere else. The steamed shrimp dumpling is great as well as the shu mai. However, the atmosphere here isn’t great. Due to the fact that I’m not a Chinese national, I had a lot of people watching me when I was eating. The atmosphere might be awkward, but the dim sum is great. I’d recommend taking your dim sum to go.

This was one of the times where Unilocal led me astray. The cha siu bao was definitely not anywhere near great in my opinion, let alone the best in SF. I’m still searching for it, and I’ll probably have to end up on the west side of town to succeed. The ladies taking orders up front refused to speak in Mandarin(even though they obviously understood me) and were impatient with the fact that I didn’t understand Cantonese. The quality of the food was not up to snuff. I’d rather wait in line at Good Mong Kok or deal with the curt service at Delicious Dim Sum, assuming I were in need of dim sum in Chinatown. The verdict: You’s can take its dim sum and shove it up You’s butt. I’m not coming back to You’s.

This place is great, food is quick and tasty. They have real Asian comfort food for my out of town family and they were very happy Bonus this place open at 6 am for my family who wakes up really early!

Cha siu bao– very good BBQ pork to bun ratio. That said it was stuffed with pretty decent, savory & juicy pork but way too much fluffy bun. («Too much bun, too much!» I can practically hear Margaret Cho imitating her mother saying that). Ha gao and other steamed items were strangely lacking flavor and the wrappers were too thick. Thumbs down. To Unilocalers thinking this is the best baked pork bun in the city, you haven’t been to Lung Fung in the Richmond or Booming Dim Sum in the Sunset(choose whatever side of the park you wanna be on).
