THANK YOU Yun Yun for perfectly tailoring two dresses for my wedding weekend in August 2015 — my grandmother’s 60 year old wedding dress, which I wore to our «welcome party,» and my wedding gown for the big day. You are a true expert at your craft and I couldn’t have imagined anyone else touching my gowns. I’m still in awe that you were able to turn my grandmother’s wedding gown (which my mother also wore to her wedding) into a shorter cocktail dress, and that you beautifully built the most intricate, floral-​looking wedding dress bustle. Thank you for being flexible on dates/​times for fitting appointments and for delivering the «final products» way ahead of schedule! I’m also posting a few photos from the wedding weekend just to show off your incredible talent!

She did an amazing job on my wedding dress alterations. Very friendly and concerned with making me feel amazing in the dress. I even took it home at one point thinking I wasn’t going to lose more weight. She let me bring it back for an extra alteration with no extra charge. Thank you!

Ms. Wong and her assistant did a fantastic job on the alterations of my wedding dress. My mom (who accompanied me to each appointment) and I could not have been more pleased with the experience. Ms. Wong was patient and provided excellent customer service.

Yun Yun is a very nice lady, but i felt as though I was over charged. I am a bustier more curvy (hour glass) figure. I came here to have my wedding dress done; didnt really care for pricing as long as the job was done correct. I came here because friends told me about this place, so I made the 45 min drive each time to SF.
Im relax chill bride and let the professionals do their work. My dress practically fit me perfectly, but was too long and the top of the dress looked «weird» i have 36DD chest so I knew the top would need to be let out to fit my chest. She said she can do the work, so I left the dress
At the second fitting the dress wouldnt zip, and I did not gain any weight. I cant imagine any bride wanting to gain weight before their wedding. So I had to remove my undergarments and the dress zipped, great but I really need the support of a bra! Now the dressed sagged weird in front and she said thats how the dress should look. I think not!
So the last fitting came along and same thing, couldnt wear a bra with my dress and it still did the saggy thing… I dont think anything was done from the second fitting. The hem of the dress was the right length though. Im not one to argue, but i knew the dress wasnt done the way it should have been done. So i took the dress and left very unhappy
I no longer wanted to wear the dress… my boobs just didnt fit, it made my chest look flat, the top was just too tight. (i had the look of back fat and no tits) So i went to find a different professional and brought the dress in and as soon as i walked out the woman told me «you need boning and your boobs dont fit thats why it doesnt look right» So she re did my dress for $ 140 and now it fits perfectly. She let out the chest area, added boning so it wouldnt sag, i can now wear a bra underneath for support and now I have no back fat and boobs to show for :)
Im sure Yun Yun does good work, but she just didnt come through for me on my dress. She basically tighten my top when it wasnt needed and hemmed my two layer dress no complexity at all, it was a very simple skirt, no beading, tulle or anything hard and charged me $ 250. I dont doubt that she does good work from her other reviews, i think she just saw an opportunity and took advantage of me.

I had a very delicate wedding dress altered and Yun Yun and her staff did an excellent job with the alterations. Everyone is skilled and super nice and efficient! Highly recommend for anyone looking for dress alterations!

My wedding is right around the corner, and we received my son’s suit in the mail. We waited to buy a suit until the last minute, because he’s growing fast. I called Yun Yun, and even though she was closing shop for the evening, waited for me to get there and drop off the suit! She made the alterations quickly, and I couldn’t be more pleased! She also put a bustle on my wedding dress. She’s professional and courteous, and I couldn’t recommend her more!

I brought my online bought chinese dress/​qi pao in for alteration and Yun Yun was very honest with me about the amount of work that had to be done due to the intensity of labor and poor construction of the dress. She told me that I would have been better off purchasing another dress instead as the cost to alter would have cost more than 2x what I paid for the dress in a very honest manner. I didn’t end up using her services as she also told me that it wouldn’t be very noticeable even if I didn’t alter it. I appreciate her honest input because she has her client’s best interest in mind and wouldn’t push to get it altered just for the sake of doing business. She does seem to be on the pricier end when it comes to alterations but her experience probably backs that up as she seems to work on a lot of bridal gowns and has been in business for 15 years.

Yun Yun is the owner of this place and also the one that will pick up the phone majority of the time.
I had my wedding dress tailored by Yun Yun and I couldn’t be happier. my dress had a lot of lace and beading over tulle and in order to bring in the top she had to lift the lace and bring in and put it back. It was a lot of detailed work. I also didn’t know I had 10 layers of dress in the skirt level… wow. which only needed hemming. She is open on Saturdays, so made appointment scheduling so much easier than trying to coordinate leaving work early or coming in late.
Pricing I didn’t shop around anywhere else, I just did a little research online and she’s on the higher end of the spectrum. I would recommend her just because she does great quality work.

Absolutely LOVE Yun Yun. I had ordered a dress for a holiday party and realized it was too long when I had received it (if only I was taller…) but the party was in 3 days. I was searching for a tailor who could get a rush order in ’cause at this point — I was willing to pay anything. I really had no other dress to wear. I called Yun Yun, explained my dress needs and she told me to just come in so she can see what she can do.
I walked in (thank god for being within walking distance), tried on my dress for her, and she went right to work pinning it up to my desired length. She had asked me when I needed it by and I sort of cringed when I said the time frame, but she just chuckled and said it would be ready in 2 days. WHAT!
To add to the awesomness, she was very upfront with how she had to hem my dress. Since the hem was a bit weird because of the dress design, she told me she would have to make a slightly different hem. I didn’t mind — as long as it was the right length and obviously didn’t botch the dress. She quoted me ~$ 30 (and I really can’t remember this number, I apologize. But it was under $ 40) and I was off!
She promptly called me on Friday night telling me my dress was ready so I went back, tried it on, and it was perfect. Paid what I was quoted for and walked away a happy customer. I can’t rate her high enough! I had expected a much higher cost for the rush, but I was pleasantly surprised. And who DOESN’T love a tailor who can take in a rush order like that?!
Super high quality work and super super accommodating. I’ll definitely be taking all my clothes here for alterations!

I got my wedding dress altered here and Yun Yun did an amazing job! I did my research and looked at a lot of tailors in the city. Booking Yun Yun was an easy decision! My dress was 2 size too big/​mermaid/​all lace so very intricate and basically needed alterations from head to toe. Yun Yun’s price was the cheapest out of the places I checked and she was patient and explained exactly what she was going to do so I was very comfortable leaving the dress with her.
Also, her store is super organized and clean. A lot of tailors in the city have tons of threads on the floor that would get stuck to my dress — not at Yun Yun’s!

I couldn’t WAIT to write this review for Yun Yun. 10 days before I had to get on a plane for my wedding, I bought a new wedding dress because I was disappointed with how the original turned out after alterations at a bridal salon.
I called Yun Yun the next day, who picked up the phone right away (outside of her standard hours), scheduled an appointment with me for the same evening, waited for an extra 30 minutes after my appointment time because I was stuck in traffic, and agreed to do my alterations in 6 days. Fortunately my dress didn’t need major work, but it did include: shortening, adding a bustle, shortening the straps, attaching the belt.
I was so thrilled with the result, and completely delighted by my experience with Yun Yun. She was extremely responsive (I don’t think I left a single voicemail), friendly, and flexible, and she did great work. I could probably have found a lower price by shopping around, but given my tight timeline I was prioritizing convenience and speed. Thank you Yun Yun!

Although Yun Yun Wong has some good recommendations here for wedding dresses, I have to strongly caution away from going here given my recent experience. I was working on a tight timeline and took my wedding dress to Yun Yun for basic alterations — hemming and bodice. The cost: $ 550. When I came back 3 weeks later, only the front of the dress had been hemmed. I was told it would cost more to hem the sides, when I said that my $ 550 should cover hemming sides and front, I was told to take my business elsewhere. Fortunately my family found a fantastic seamstress in my home state of NJ willing to help out. If not for that, with three weeks less to find a competent professional, I would have been in trouble. Please consider taking your wedding dress elsewhere. If you do choose Yun Yun Wong get everything in writing beforehand and be very specific so there are no miscommunications.

I strongly recommend Yun Yun Wong. I did my dress alternation there and she is very flexible to meet my crazy schedules. I rescheduled my appointment so many times but she is always nice and accommodate my needs. I paid about $ 200, with 2 fittings. It is very reasonable.

Yun Yun was amazing! She was able to alter my dress in two weeks. She was honest, timely and gave wonderful advice. The price was right and she took such good care of me.

I had been searching for a quality alterations place for years; one that had nice and friendly people working, and that actually knew how to fit clothing. Found it. The place is clean and simple, and the woman who works there is VERY kind and timely. I had a bridesmaid dress, Dessy– long and flowing with ribbing, taken in at the bust and the slit up the front brought up higher. The dress came out perfect, and there were some hard seams to fix! the total or the dress was $ 60, split into two payments, and I had several opportunities to have it fitted there. She steamed the dress so it was nice and creaseless when I picked it up.
I will be bringing my casual clothes in for hemming and fixes very soon, FINALLY an alterations place that does what they say they’re going to do, with friendly service and fair prices.

I brought my wedding dress to Yun Yun and she did an amazing job. She is great to work with and incredibly honest. She also works quickly! My wedding dress was completed in a little over a month and we had 3 fittings. I highly recommend Yun Yun! I even came back afterwards to have my Chinese dress altered and she again made another dress fit me perfectly at a reasonable price. She’s awesome.

Yun Yun did my wedding dress back in April/​May 2012. I prepared myself for a huge quote but was surprised to hear my alterations would only be $ 180.
Process was simple and accurate. After I met her the first time, I went back in 2 weeks later to be sure we had the hem in the right place and it was done 2 weeks later.

Yun Yun does a great job with alterations. I have been here twice. The first time, the bridal shop had mistakenly ordered a smaller bridesmaid dress for me. With her experience, she altered and made the dress fit. It was too late to order a new dress because the wedding was weeks away. The dress fit perfectly and was comfortable! I came back to alter my husband’s new suit pants. She took her time and did a great job!
Will definitely come back!

When you come in, you work with Yun-​Yun, who is an English speaker and the owner.
I’ve had 4 dresses altered here: my western wedding dress, my chinese qi-​pao, my reception dress, and my sister’s bridesmaid dress. She did a great job on my qi-​pao (which was beaded and sequined satin from HK) and altered the reception dress for free (it was really simple). My sister’s BM dress had layers of chiffon (it was one of the J. Crew dresses), and she shortened it perfectly. The rule of thumb with Yun-​Yun is that most alterations cost $ 50 for anything short of a bridal gown.
The only dress I wasn’t really happy about was my western wedding dress. To be fair, it wasn’t her fault (the dress was custom made in HK), but … for $ 250, I guess I got what I paid for (which were alterations short of redoing the whole dress). My primary beef was that I couldn’t walk in the dress, even after her alterations.
I will come back to her, however, for alterations to my everyday clothes — her prices for those seem pretty reasonable (about $ 10 for a hem).
