Omg. Where do I begin? We ordered the stuffed squash blossoms, Kearny pizza(corn and egg custard), and another pizza(can’t remember). For dessert, we ordered the vanilla soft serve with ricotta donuts and peanut butter crunch. Everything was awesome!!! Zero Zero earns 100 in my book!

4.5 stars. Zero Zero apparently Neapolitan-ish pizzas in their wood-fired oven. I spoke to one of the pizza makers and he told me that they use 00 flour and they bake at about 700 °F(905 °F is the temp for legit Neapolitan pizza) and for three minutes(90 seconds or less for is the bake time for legit Neapolitan pizza) In spite of the longish bake time and the pale bottom, the top of the pizza looked quite good IMO and the toppings of my «Castro» pizza where in perfect balance and harmony. My wife noted the overall lightness of the pizza, both in the weight of the slice and its overall texture. We also had their arugula salad with strawberries and their wines were also very good. Baking niggles aside this was a very nice meal and I wouldn’t hesitate to go there again if I were in the area. The wait time for a table for an early dinner on a Tuesday was surprisingly long, but the excellent service, quality food and overall experience made up for the inconvenience.

The wait… was looooong. Came on a Friday night at 9 or 10 pm and waited about an hour to be seated. I came in a group of three but due to a special circumstance, two of us had to duck out for a bit. However, while my friend waited for us to come back, they served her two free appetizers. Staff was far too kind. The pizza was DELICIOUS. We got a margherita and the Gilmore with the egg add on, upon the servers recommendation. SOSOGOOD. The three of us, girls, easily finished the two pizzas. We also got vanilla soft serve plus the ricotta doughnuts with hot fudge and chocolate cookie crumble. It was SOGOOD. THEDOUGHNUTS, you won’t regret em!!! The service was beyond excellent, food delicious too!!!

I thought I had reviewed but apparently not. We were guests of Unilocal for an ACRONYM function. We were a party of about 12 people. Thankfully they had a table reserved because it was busy. Beautiful place, lots of wood, lots of people, and did not remind me of a Pizza joint. This was first class. I loved the pizza! The Mushroom and white sauce pizza was really, really really, good. The margarita was really good. All of it was very tasty and I like d the presentation on the tower of pizzas set in the middle of the table for our group. Everything was fresh. Our waiter kept bringing things. We kept eating. It was pretty awesome. And then, upon being full, out came the desert. I loosened my belt a notch and indulged in one of the best damn things. Ice cream, doughnuts and brownie, with dipping sauce. I think it was two different deserts and this was just toooo good. Glad they took us here because this was good and based on the crowd I am pretty sure I am not the only one to think so.

I came here with a friend at around 9:30pm after getting out of a movie. We wanted to get something to eat and were worried about time, but we still chose to sit down at Zero Zero for some pizza. It didn’t seem like a lot of places were open, and Zero Zero seemed pretty packed and popular so we trusted it. I’m really glad we came here because wow, it was quick. We got seated, and in minutes we got waters and our orders were taken. I swear, we got our food less than ten minutes after that. We were honestly taken aback by how quickly our pizzas came, but were pleased nonetheless. The pizzas were great! Just what we needed. Thin, crispy and tasty. Nothing incredibly outstanding, but I spent a year in Italy just a bit ago so my standards are a little too high sometimes. I would come back, definitely, especially with the crazy good service. Thanks for the quick meal! Twas much appreciated.

The food is really mediocre. Ordered pork belly and fried chicken. The fried chicken is OK I guess. But the pork belly is really the fattest pork belly I ever ate.

Zero Zero is seriously one of the best pizza places in this area! It’s a place to grab a snack(yeah right, you’ll end up eating dinner too) or just a dessert. The place is also big enough to have a casual group dinner or intimate enough for a date. It’s actually not even hard to get a reservation; I’ve gotten a table for 2 at dinner as a walk in. I’ve had most of the pizzas but the Stockton and Fillmore is the way to go. All their combos are really well done. They may seem a bit random looking at the menu, but the flavors are really well combined! And don’t miss out on the crust either. It’s made just like how it should be and it’s very similar to the pizzas in Italy: thin and crispy on the outside. If you’re up for a salad, I highly recommend the smoked trout. Again, great combination of flavors and details, down to the crispy potato cakes and the best frisee I’ve ever had. DO get the desserts here. I usually skimp out on dessert at restaurants because I’m so full but you can customize your own soft serve with what you want! It’s not the best soft serve I’ve ever had but it’s pretty great with the olive oil. The ricotta doughnuts are fresh and hot when they give it to you too. So glad this is down the street from work! It’s a go-to when people visit and we always have a great experience here.

2500 plus reviews and counting… with scale like that there is little room for shall we say bias. The reviews are right on(actually I did not find this via Unilocal but a friends recommendation… imagine that… people talk, socialize, and share their dining tips… how provincial!!!) Not more can really be added… but. Great vibe, beautiful restaurant, good service, and great food. Prices are expensive(so what else is new for SF?) 19.50 for a smaller pizza pie is a tad pricey but at least it was an awesome pizza. Great thinner crust, wonderfully fresh ingredients, perfect bake. Of the three pizzas we ordered the castro pizza(the meat pizza… someone has a funny sense of humour!) was our least favorite… it was a tad too salty. However the fillmore with the wild mushrooms was phenomenal… you could taste the woodsy mushrooms… omg Their basic margherita was simple and super flavorful! Their cesar salad is delish with homemade croutons. The Taleggio Stuffed Arancini served with a Black Garlic Aioli are wonderful. Fried rice and cheese balls… light and fluffy. Even the desserts were executed wonderfully… the fried ricotta donuts were amazing. light fluffy and crunchy… get these. The Strauss organic frozen yogurt served with Bruce’s Calabrian Chile caramel… sweet and hot… was pretty outstanding as well. Top it off with a half carafe of lovely chianti… and it was the perfect pizza meal! Place gets really crowded so make reservations!!!

Ate here for dinner on a Saturday evening. Arrived around 7pm so we were able to be seated immediately as the dinner rush was just beginning. The space was a little tight, as is the case with many popular spots, we found ourselves elbow to elbow with the table next to us. Ordered the Arancini, fried chicken, and the Fillmore(which is a mushroom pizza). Everything was very tasty. It was my first time trying Arancini but not my first go at fried chicken, which they managed to make crispy and spicy just the way I like it. The Fillmore was full of flavor by virtue of the various mushroom species they used. Overall it was a nice place to dine with upscale ambiance, trendy vibe, and great service.

A quick walk from our hotel, we were very pleased with this Italian restaurant. Vacationing in San Francisco for Memorial Day weekend, we knew restaurants were going to be busy. Throw The Golden State Warriors bball game in the mix and we were prepared for major crowds. We arrived around Saturday night. Although there were no tables available, there were some high tables in the bar area so we opted to sit there. Boyfriend ordered the Cesar salad and it was big enough to share. Delicious and the salad was fresh. They threw in big squares of croutons too. For my entrée, I ordered the Radiatore — Braised Short Rib, Kale, Carmalized Onions, Chili Flakes with a hint of lemon mint. OHMYGOD. This was one of the best pastas I’ve had in awhile. Dish came out fresh and pippin hot! The short ribs were plentiful and it was so tender, it melts in your mouth. Perfect amount of spice from the chili flakes… in fact, it wasn’t spicy at all in my opinion. But it was still damn freakin good! Boyfriend ordered the Columbus pizza which consisted of Prosciutto, Mushrooms, Tomato Sauce, Fresh Garlic and Oregano. He enjoyed it a lot. Zero Zero’s food quality and presentation was on point. However, our bill was $ 99(before gratutity.) We ordered two glasses of wine, Caesar salad, pasta and pizza for entrée. No dessert and it still equals out to $ 99. There’s some state tax plus SF tax added on there. I think that’s where they get ya. The total was a bit of a shock to us. But I decided to not take any stars away because of that. The food was just too damn good!

Solid, flavorful, non-greasy pizza. Slightly bigger in size than Delarosa, but pizzas are priced in the high $teens. Bar atmosphere, but with plenty of tables on the second floor and some on the first floor as well. Drinks: [disclaimer – I don’t drink alcohol, so this is just from what I recall of what my hubby mentioned] :) Old Fashioned($ 13) — price varies by your choice of alcohol(rye, whiskey, bourbon?). Hubby says this is the BEST old fashioned that he’s ever had, and turned him on to the cocktail so thoroughly, that he has ordered old fashioneds at practically every place he’d been to the next few years, and every other restaurant/bar fell short. From schmoozing the bartender the first times he’d been here, he found out the secrets to the drink which I will do my best to share: orange peel, rim the glass with the orange peel, bitters(hubby uses orange bitters, Zero Zero uses some other type of bitters), fancy cherry(bourbon-soaked? I forget exactly which cherry they use, but apparently it’s ~$ 30/jar, so it suffices to say that they’re fancy), no muddling. The bartenders really care about their drinks, which is evident from watching them carefully concoct, taste, then discard if not up to standards and even start again. Dinner: Fillmore Pizza($ 18) — garlic, leeks, thyme, hen of the woods mushrooms, mozzarella + pecorino cheese, no sauce. Very flavorful, non-greasy, hit the spot. Though I would have preferred more cheese. Enough for 2 people to share, but if you’re super hungry or one of you doesn’t have a smaller appetite(like me), you’ll need an appetizer too. Doesn’t seem like your typical family pizza place – however we saw a lot of kids there, so I think it’s kid-approved. Dessert: Ricotta Donuts(4)($ 5) — We were looking forward to trying these the entire meal – but unfortunately these were a let-down. These were more bread-y and if you didn’t know there was ricotta in the dough, you probably wouldn’t have otherwise guessed. Granted there is a slightly more tender consistency… but although I am carb’s #1 fan, I would not order these again. Save your money and go to Spruce for their $ 10 beignets(best beignets with dipping sauces included). Dipping sauces or toppings are $ 2 each. Here we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Vanilla-Poached Strawberries – these were fantastic! We should have just ordered a couple servings of this! They use real vanilla beans(you can see the vanilla beans) and non-frozen strawberries. I thought I tasted some kind of alcohol(bourbon?) in it too, but hubby didn’t – maybe I was just drunk on the delicious sweetness.

Went here on Wednesday night around 8pm and there were no tables available, so we could either sit at the communal table or the bar. We decided to sit at the bar. We technically didn’t sit AT the bar, more the table that looks at the window and is adjacent to the bar. But it was great! We had our own server who was friendly and even though we weren’t near her section she constantly checked up on us to make sure we were okay. We started with 2 cocktails: Mine was a fruity gin drink and bf got a bourbon drink. They were fine, but nothing to rave about especially for the price. We then decided to order the Filmore and Geary pizzas. The Filmore is a great vegetarian pizza! Delicious mushroom goodness. There’s no sauce so the pizza is on the drier side versus the ones that have a tomato sauce base. The Geary pizza had HUGE clams in it! It was a little soggy near the middle of the pizza, but understandable because of the the thin crust. The combination of clams and bacon won the bf over. He said it was one of his favorite pizzas! I’m usually not a fan of thin crust, but the crust on Zero Zero pizzas weren’t crispy thin, and were nicely charred and chewy. For dessert we ordered the infamous vanilla soft serve ice cream with EVOO and sea salt, and got the flour less brownie on the side. I was a little hesitant how the combo of EVOO and ice cream would be, but it was a nice surprise! It went perfectly with the brownie(which is more like a decadent chocolate molten cake). The serving size is big, so I recommend sharing this with at least one other person! Since we were seated right next to the hostess stand, service was really on point.

Lovely décor, two full bars with one downstairs and one upstairs. You definitely need to make reservations! We were quoted an hour wait at 8:30PM on a Friday night. We were seated upstairs in a very small table. The waitress was helpful and suggested the margherita pizza and rigatoni so we went along with her suggestions but added arugula and soppressata(Italian pepperoni) on it. We asked if the pasta was enough to share and was told it would be enough for about two people. The rigatoni($ 23) was the smallest portion of pasta I had ever seen! It had pieces of duck, crispy bacon and cabbage. No sauce. But was very flavorful. I wish they made the portion size a little bigger and added more veggies to it. The pizza was disappointing. They forgot the arugula so we had to wait a while to flag down the waitress to let her know. She did bring out a big bowl of arugula for us though. The pizza was on the salty side and the crust was pretty thin. Most of the toppings were falling off so I had to eat it like a hotdog or sandwich. It was definitely not one of the better pizzas I’ve had. With our two add ons, the pizza came out to be $ 20. The overall bill wasn’t too bad, but next time we will skip the pizza altogether and just order two pastas and a salad.

My first impression walking into Zero Zero: damn that bar! Not only do I love great food, but I love beautiful restaurants, and as soon as you walk into this popular pizza joint, you can tell it’s going to be a positive experience. The two story joint(with overlooking«balcony» upstairs seating – great for groups and with it’s own separate bar area with additional seating) has huge windows, floor to ceiling mirrors and long hanging chandeliers. They’ve utilized every space and every element to make this restaurant seem bigger than it is. Highly recommend starting with the Taleggio Stuffed Arancini, or anything on special that’s comparable. We had a salad special that evening which was topped with radishes, feta, beets and additional in-season fruits: they’re using seasonal products for their specials, so make sure you try what’s fresh that day. The Avocado Bruschetta, Hobb’s Coppa, Manodori Balsamic was a pure bite of happiness. The pizza was the much more surprising part of the meal: we ordered three options – Margarita, the Fillmore and the Geary. Surprisingly, the Margarita was my least favorite(which completely goes against my pizza theory of always judging a restaurant on their margarita) with the Geary coming in close to the Margarita and the Fillmore, a mushroom and white sauce based pizza, winning by a long shot. Once you’re completely full of pizza and appetizers, you MUST make room for dessert, which was my favorite part of the meal(and I’m a salt person much more than a sweet!) The organic soft serve ice cream is amazing! Get the swirl and you’ll never look back! And you really can’t pass-up on the Flourless Chocolate Brownie and as odd as it sounds: the Ricotta Doughnuts – for the ultimate win! Paired with some of their sauces, the classic caramel and hot fudge sauce are perfect. I’d return to Zero Zero just for dessert, it was that fantastic! Unilocalers frequent this place often and it was part of our 2016 Unilocal ACRONYMer Summit.

I’ve had Zero Zero on my to try list for a while and finally checked it out. Came here with some friends for birthday celebrations. We didn’t make reservations and were able to get a table for 5 on a Friday night at around 7pm. The vibe inside is dark, cool, casual. It’s good for groups and smaller intimate dinners too. I’d say upstairs is a little bit louder with the large tables so if you want something a little more lowkey, I’d suggest hang downstairs or at the bar. If you’re planning to continue your night after Zero Zero and/or have a group, I highly recommend getting one of their punch bowls to share. First off, they are adorable with orchids(I think) frozen into the ice cubes, second it’s a pretty large punch bowl so everyone can get in multiple cups of the good stuff. For a group of 5, we were each able to get at least 3 drinks out of the bowl. On to the food, we started with the fried chicken thighs, which were delicious. They had a nice light crispy batter on them and the chicken perfectly cooked; the chili yogurt sauce was a great accompaniment. We also tried three pizzas, the Vallejo, Fillmore, and Margherita. I’d say my two favorites were the Margherita and the Fillmore. The Fillmore’s combination of mushrooms and cheeses makes for a really flavorful pizza– a must try. And finally, dessert. Not sure if we had just too many cups of punch at this point but wow the dessert here is on point. It was my first time trying ice cream with olive oil(late to the hype, I know) but now I get the hype. Definitely get the vanilla soft serve with olive oil and sea salt. We also shared the ricotta donuts and flourless brownie. I’d say the ricotta donuts were good(and even better when dunked into the soft serve) but forgettable. The flourless brownie was so unexpectedly indulgent– highly recommend trying this too especially if you’re gluten free. Service was great too and our server checked in regularly and food came out really quickly especially for a busy Friday.

Zero Zero is walking distance from the Intercontinental hotel on Howard st, where i stayed in SF. I wish I ordered more things or had a bigger group cause the menu looked enticing. We were in a little rush so we only got the fried chicken appetizer and Castro pizza. The fried chicken thighs sat atop a yogurt sauce that surprisngly paired well with the crispy chicken and the castro pizza topped with sopressata, sausage, mozzarella, and basil was scrumptious but the middle was soggy and became worse the following day as leftovers. Our waitress was friendly and helpful specifically when we asked her suggestions for bars and clubs in sf. For dessert, they have several options such as a build your own soft serve with toppings like cocoa nib toffee and vanilla poached satsuma mandarins. I hear their ricotta doughnuts can be crave worthy. All in all, this is a spot I can see myself coming back to even if it’s only for dessert.

Sat at the bar in the middle of the day for a couple of drinks and a pizza. They had a great selection of beers, and some fun cocktails! We ordered the Fillmore pizza(mushrooms, leeks, fontina, garlic and thyme) which is also apparently available frozen to-go. The pizza was fantastic! So much flavor and a unique combination of toppings. Because it was the middle of the day, the place was pretty quiet but there were still a few other people stopping in for lunch. Service was top notch, there weren’t too many people at the bar with us so the bartender took great care of us. Location wise, it was in an odd area… Although I would probably still come back. Nothing completely stood out to me, but I also think the place was not in full swing when we went. Also, the price point was a little high for what I would have expected — but we did order some drinks!

REVIEWER # 2529 Tucked away in SoMa, Zero Zero is a terrific spot for authentic Italian food. I had such a great meal here with some of my friends during a Friday night. I would have never knew about this restaurant if it wasn’t for amazing foodie friends! One of my girlfriends from out of town and we reserved Zero Zero for a party of 8 people and I have to admit it worked out well. As soon as we walked in we were greeted. Zero Zero is an upstairs and downstairs restaurant, which I think is SUPER nice! Hipster décor was nice. They are known for their delicious pizza and although I am not a pizza person, I really enjoyed the *Geary Pizza! It’s known as an Italian restaurant but I have to say the menu is varied it’s SO much more than that. They serve delicious pasta, pizza, fried chicken and the dessert were off the chain! It was even better because our food arrived at our table in a flash. Location within walking distance of downtown Moscone center. The staff is are very friendly and the bathrooms were decent and clean. Everything we ordered was excellent! I definitely recommend this restaurant for newbies in the area and even for a date night. Although to me I feel that this joint is pretty pricey for the **serving size, however, if I come with friends and split the bill I don’t think it will be that bad. *You have to order that pizza when you come here **Portions are too small for the price of the dish Review 13\196

I wanted to LOVE Zero Zero. It has a cool name, and all of their menu items sound incredibly tasty. They’re always busy here, and I would describe the atmosphere is classy/casual. My boyfriend and I picked this place as a weekday dinner date location. We had to wait for about 10 minutes, as expected. The service was fantastic. We were seated at a booth, and the staff was always very friendly and accommodating. Now for the food. I started off with a Violet Death cocktail because the name is freaking awesome, and I was in the mood for something spicy. It was not as spicy as I was hoping(especially since the waitress recommended it) but it was quite refreshing. Our meal started with a caesar salad. We love ordering the caesar salad from several different restaurants and comparing uniqueness. The menu listing excited us because it said the salad contained anchovies, but when the salad arrived, no anchovies were to be found. When we asked the waitress, she said that the anchovies are in the dressing. What… then why didn’t the menu say so? So misleading. We paid $ 2 extra for a side of anchovies to complete our hopes and dreams for this salad. For our main courses, we shared the Bianco Neri and Crispy Duck Confit. Both dishes seemed lacking in flavor. They were tasty but bland to an unsatisfactory degree. Out of the two dishes, I would recommend the Bianco Neri for its unique texture and flavor combinations. There were many other things on the menu that sounded delicious, but these two dishes were discouraging. Perhaps I will give Zero Zero one more try? We shall see.

OK. Let’s start with the fact that I’m a sucker for any great pizza and proper cocktail menu. Zero Zero has both of these things nailed tight. A huge space spanning two floors makes this spot a great group destination for lunch or dinner. I’d still recommend a reservation because it’s pretty popular. I’ve been here a few times before, but came in for lunch last Wednesday(2⁄24) with a friend and guess what? It was still fantastic! As our starter, we opted for the avocado & copa bruschetta with balsamic reduction drizzled on top. If you’re a fan of avocados this is a must get. If you don’t like avocados, THEN I DON’T TRUSTYOUANYWAY and your opinion doesn’t matter. :) On to the pizzas… «The Castro» was a meat lovers dream. Insert joke here non San Francisicans. It was my favorite of the two pizzas and the only one I’ll comment on because the other pie was the daily special and who knows if it will ever return. The red sauce is simple, tangy and just the way I like it. I never love a lot of cheese on pizzas and the delicate hand at Zero Zero is greatly appreciated. Crust… on point. Chewy and perfectly burned, my favorite. I’ll be back to sit at the bar and have a few signature cocktails with more pizza soon!

My friend and I squeezed in to two seats in the upstairs bar, and service was great — 5 stars! However the food was just ok: the hamachi and the brussel sprouts. The fish in the hamachi was fresh and I loved the avocado however there lacked a bite, maybe just a tad bit more salt? And I did not dig the pear with the brussel sprouts which tasted sour on my tongue. Perhaps I should have gone with my friend’s suggestion of pizza as she frequents there often since it is close to her office(however I was just looking for small bites). This makes me sad as I liked our bartenders.

My friends and I came in for restaurant week SF. The $ 25 prix fix menu was great. We were late to our reservation, but they were still able to accommodate us :). The ambiance: loved it. Very causal and rowdy. They have two bars and two storeys. Food:My meal came with salad, pasta, and Strauss soft serve(see set menu). The salad was absolutely perfect. It features crunchiness in the toasted almonds along with the crisp pear slices. The pasta was good but not great. I really liked the variation in texture with the crunchy prosciutto. However, the pasta was a little overdone in my opinion. My friends thought it was fine, but I prefer it more undercooked. And for the finale: dessert! I really liked the combination of Strauss vanilla soft serve, extra virgin olive oil, and sea salt. For me, the vanilla soft serve was too sweet, but still very good. Service: bar tender was very attentive Overall: great, but I would only come for restaurant week.

Pros: This is definitely another SF favorite! The restaurant is fairly huge so there is a lot of seating! There is a really cool vibe with their long bar and young crowd at the bar. The food here is so worth the price. The most surprisingly good dish? Their pasta. For what seems like a little plate of pasta, it is mind blowingly good! Fresh ink noodles that have the right amount of chewiness and the perfect sauce to accompany it. Their brussel sprouts with bacon and spices was right up there along with their pizzas paired with a nice beer(or wine if you prefer). We also got the deep fried chicken appetizer which was crispy and juicy! The service was excellent with waiters pouring you waters and scrapping the bread crumbs off your table. Cons: Because it’s so happening, expect a wait especially during prime time. Is it worth it? Oh yes. Overall: Yes, delicious food and a fun atmosphere with great service! Want to come back soon!

Ducked out of a large fancy food convention at the Moscone Center and needed some simple but delicious food. Sadly, I was between lunch and full dinner service, but I was offered a seat at the bar and their short menu. Mostly pizzas which I wasn’t planning on but definitely a solid choice. I had the margherita du bufalo(spelling?) and it was exactly what I wanted: simple and good. Wine selection was extensive(included half bottle options which was perfect for unwinding at the end of a three day conference). The service was superb. The manager, or perhaps just supervisor, was actually the first to realize I hadn’t been served yet after just a few minute wait(I was fine with the wait as it hadn’t been long at all), and then he continually checked in on me throughout the time I was there. As it grew busier(lots of other conference goers by then), he even«protected» my bar table when I went to the restroom. Very kind and attentive! I would love to rate higher, but will reserve that fifth star until I get to try their full menu. But as it stands, I’m excited to get back to the Bay and hit them up. It seems reservations are a must for what looks like a very busy dinner service.

Alright, Zero Zero. You single-handedly changed my mind about pastas. I usually don’t order pasta in restaurants. I’m not a huge fan of pasta despite loving carbs. UNTILZEROZERORUINEDME. I was trying to carboload before a marathon(only times I used to order pasta), so I chose two pastas, Amatriciana and Radiatore, avoiding the creamy-sauce ones. I will never learn how to pronounce these dishes, despite my immense love for them. Both were so goooood. They made me rethink why I never order pasta or am looking for some good pasta. Now I just want to go to Italy and eat all the pasta I can find. I’ve never had a bad dish at Zero Zero. The chicken thighs, slow cooked pork belly, and pizzas. The avocado bruschetta is a beautiful thing here. It’s seemingly simple, but I will probably never be able to replicate it at home. Perfect slices of avocado with some pickled stuff on top. Soooooo great. I stick to the cocktail called«Hot Lips.» I’ve tried several cocktails here, but the Hot Lips is definitely my favorite. It has a nice kick of spicy from the jalapeños. The bar is facing at least two TV screens with which you can come to watch the Giants, Warriors, 49ers, or whomever else you’re yelling for during the games. ZEROZERO you’re a HEROHERO. YUM.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time, each dish inspired and delicious. Chef Joyce Conway and her team have done an excellent job with the food. Me and my co worker dined here tonight 1⁄25 at the upstairs bar with Katie B. Her service was warm and attentive and I could tell that she truly had a passion for food and beverages. Her cocktail suggestions were on point well balanced and super creative. We ordered the honey badger and the buenas suerte. For our Meal the chef had sent us out a sunchoke and leak soup and a Arancini. We also tried the hamachi crudo and the scallop crudo. Which were both very tasty! The next dish that came out was a tantalizing octopus with butter beans and fennel that really hit the spot! We shared the radiatore with braised short ribs and charred Brussels. Which was to die for. At this point we were starting to get full so we did a tasting of fernet to help aide digestion. The new version of fernet is made in SF by a recent contestant of the bachelor, it was good but the original one was served chilled and truly stood its ground. The came the pizza. We ordered the Columbus pie with mushrooms and prosciutto cotto with garlic. We couldn’t finish the pizza not because it wasn’t delicious but because we had been on a culinary extravaganza eating and drinking since mid day hoping from spot to spot with are grand finale at zero zero before we headed back to the east bay. It was very good. Top top that all of we had a half order of chocolate soft serve ice cream with hot fudge and vanilla poached mandarins. Katie was happy we got dessert with some fruit and said it was a healthy choice. When in Rome do as the Romans do. When in zero zero eat at the upstairs bar with Katie And let her Guide you through an outstanding experience! big thanks to the team at zero zero for an inspiring meal and some great memories to take with us!

While visiting San Francisco I was in the mood for a nice pizza, I quickly discovered that Zero Zero was only a few blocks away and best of all it was reviewed by a friend so I decided to give it a try. Upon arrival we were told that there would be a slight wait for a table, however we were able to grab a seat at the bar and place an order there. I ordered the Castro pizza which was served with Sopressata, House Made Sausage, Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Basil. Overall the pizza was very flavorful, and quite tasty. The Castro was the meat lovers type considering is unique salami and sausage. The pizza itself was a thin crust brick oven variety, and a perfect size. Prices were ok, with my pizza costing just under $ 20, not bad but not great. Overall service here was friendly and the drinks were delicious, I just wish I could remember what I had ordered. My only regret of the night was leaving without ordering the Ricotta donut, it sounded delicious however we were simply too full. Maybe next time!

I came here with a large group for lunch so we definitely made a reservation ahead of time. They fill up quickly, so either get here early or call ahead. They brought us to our designated table upstairs and then took our drink orders. For appetizers, we had: — Taleggio Stuffed Arancini(cheese-stuffed rice balls, which was a bit overwhelming garlic-y upon the first bite, but definitely flavorful and perfect for satisfying a savory craving) — Avocado Bruschetta, Coppa, Mandori Balsamic(which was delicious! For our big group, they cut smaller slices of the bruschetta so that each piece was perfectly bite-sized and thus, easier to share. Even then, there were still at least 2 – 3 slices of avocado on each piece of bruschetta, which was awesome) For the main dishes, we had: — Margherita pizza(typical margherita, plenty of cheese and their pizza is thin crust!) — Castro pizza(tasted almost like the margherita, just with meat) — Amatriciana — Lydia’s Spaghetti, House Made Pancetta(this was amazing! plus there were pieces of bacon in it! I didn’t know«pancetta» was Italian bacon, so that was a delightful surprise. And the sauce was on point, the noodles were al dente and the dish was topped with a generous amount of cheese) They provided a 3 tier pizza holder which definitely helped with feeding a big group of people all at once. There’s also shakers of red pepper flakes, so if spicy pizza is your style, they’ve got you covered! Overall, very courtesy and efficient service(but for large group, definitely call ahead, and you can even pre-order your meal) and a great place for pizza and pasta(or drinks plus decent food: P). Additional plus is they had a very clean bathroom! :)

Friendly check-in, hostess right when you walk in . Bar downstairs and seating up and down. Very cool looking place /good vibes, trendy, buzz. Unfortunately Unilocal rating was wrong because it is loud! :(Fun for groups of loud friends, bad for business meetings. Waitress quick, attentive, helpful. Quick to clear plates. Bring new silverware for each platter and when change your plate, which elevates the feeling of good service. Food soooo good. Fresh. Nice presentation. Lots garlic. I asked for no onion, and(soooo rare!) nothing had to be sent back– yay! Portions varied in size. We just ordered a few appetizers and 1 secondi. Seemed of same size so sticking to appetizers can still be filling. Left water carafee at table which is great for the garlicky food. Would love to come back.

I came here for dinner a few times, and zero zero always satisfies my cravings… Their pizzas are delicious with a thinner crust, and their pastas are always filling without being too heavy. I like the Castro pizza, which is like a margherita pizza with some additional toppings to it(sausage, etc.). I also wanted to point out that they have a meatball dish(I don’t remember the exact name… sorry) which is served with crispy sliced bread and it is DELICIOUS! It’s served with a ton of cheese which just makes it even tastier. Zero zero also serves punch bowls, which are LARGE. We tried some sort of pimm’s based punch which was really strong. They serve the punch in these cute glass teacups which is kind of funny. This place is quite popular so it’s safer to make a reservation, though they do reserve some tables for walk-ins, so even if you decide to do that, the wait shouldn’t be too bad.

Want good Pizza? Zero Zero makes good pizza. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Zero Zero has built up quite the reputation in recent times, and as a result you’re probably best off going the reservation route. My party of two had an existing reservation for Saturday at 1130, and while we were among the only ones in the place early on, it was jam packed by noon. Service was quick and attentive, and the atmosphere as a whole was excellent. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? I honestly don’t even know what I should be paying these days for a 12″ pizza, but back in Dallas I pay more or less $ 15.00. That being the case, I wasn’t really surprised when my specialty«Geary Pizza» with clams came in at just under $ 20.00. Cheap? No, but reasonable given the venue and the dish. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Honestly? It was just okay, which surprised me given Unilocal consensus. The crust had a really great crunch to it, but lacked any sort of inherent flavor which I’d say is a necessity these days to stand out. The sauce and cheese were portioned well, although I’ll say there was a tad bit more sauce than I would normally prefer. It was with the toppings that things went a bit wonky. I like clams, and the combination of clams with garlic, bacon, and chili sauce sounds phenomenal. In practice, however, the whole pizza took on a very clammy taste that sort of threw me off a bit. Good, but not necessarily great. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Zero Zero has a great atmosphere, broad menu, and reasonable prices, but the pizza didn’t blow me away. No Star Granted.

One of my favorite places to grab pizza or a nice cocktail. Definitely head here early because the place does get packed. And if you’re looking for just a seat at the bar, head upstairs before you leave. They might have extra seating at the bar up top! Their salads, pastas, and pizzas are executed well. I love a thin crust pizza!

If you’re looking for a very trendy place with great food & drinks Zero Zero is your go to. My cousins & I went on a Wednesday(it was Veterans Day as well) around 7pm, which I’m guessing was peak hours. But even for a wednesday it was packed and we were told the wait for the 4 of us was around 45min. It was no prob cause we just headed over to the bar and had some grey goose & champagne to toast my cousin’s 25th birthday. Our wait was probably only about 30min and it didn’t seem long at all. I did notice, though that people who came in before us sat at the bar and were served quickly so that might be a better option next time! We were seated on the bottom level kind of in the corner, which is probably why it was a little harder to flag down our waitress when we needed her. She tried to check on us pretty often though. None of us had been here, so we scoped out the menu and everything sounded delicious. We decided to share 1 appetizer and 2 pizzas. Stuffed arancini — a fried risotto stuffed ball that was very creamy, cheesy and was great with the black garlic aioli the Columbus pizza — mushroom, prosciutto(& cheese duh) in a tomato sauce the butternut squash pizza — I don’t remember what this one was called, but it is a seasonal item. with brown butter, basil and that sweet butternut squash that just melt in your mouth!!! *TIP Ask for their homemade chili oil to drizzle all over your pizza for a kick! I’m a sucker for spicy food, let alone chili oil. Come on. DRINKS We continued to order drinks at our table and the one that seemed the most appealing was the Violet Death in the Afternoon. Morbid to its name, but fresh to the taste! It had prosecco, absinthe and crème de violette which i had never had before. Garnished with an iced orchid it was pretty too! When we were looking through Unilocal reviews I remember wishing someone said what it tasted like because i was a little hesitant buying an $ 11 drink and not liking it. Here I am to your rescue if you’re wondering what it tastes like! LICORICE. A little odd, because i wouldn’t normally order a drink with this flavor profile but I really enjoyed it and so did my cousins because we ordered 2 or 3 rounds after that lol! It is a creeper so beware! Really loved this place, it was very hip and the food definitely did not disappoint. I think the menu is constantly changing, because there were some pasta dishes I wanted to try(i.e. the duck rigatoni) that I was sad I didn’t see on there. The butternut squash is a must try while it is still in season!

Zero zero you’re my pizza hero! With a big appetite in tow, Daniel L. and I were privileged to have a weekday lunch with our fellow SF Unilocaler Mike C. and his nephew. He selected this eatery, which creates their unique pizzas in wood-fired ovens and other Italian specialties. We were warmly greeted at the front and escorted to the second floor while passing a long dark bar on the first floor. The good thing eating with three guys is ordering lots of food! We ordered: one appetizer, one salad, one pasta, two pizzas and two desserts. They started with the Zero Zero Fried Chicken Thighs($ 14.50) with chili sauce and caraway yogurt sauce. Even though I couldn’t eat this, they said it was a must order if you’re a huge fried chicken lover. No complaints from them! The daily salad special was a green salad with crab cakes. The plate was served with two petite sized crab cakes with gently dressed greens with apple slices and seeds. This was a perfect prelude to the city famous pizzas. On to the hand crafted pizzas: Columbus(prosciutto cotto, crimini mushrooms, tomato sauce, fresh garlic, oregano, mozzarella, grana padano) $ 19.50. Fillmore(hen of the woods mushrooms, leeks, mozzarella, grana padano, pecorino, fontina, garlic, thyme) $ 18.95. Both of these pies had a thin crust with a soft center and freckled blackened blisters around the outer edges. This is the kind of pizza where it would be a crime to not eat the crust. Every ingredient had married perfectly with the cheese and dough. Using my puppy dog eyes, I was able to nab the last slice of the Fillmore pizza. Finally, we ordered the Cappellitti pasta with duck confit, mustard greens, ham broth, breadcrumbs and chili flakes $ 22.50. This is not your ordinary pasta dish but instead this had a hearty richness from the duck mixed with the ham broth. Bravo! The dessert should not be passed up no matter how stuffed you may feel! Our server handed us a dessert check off list and we selected the Straus organic soft serve(vanilla, chocolate or swirl) $ 6. The secret to their dessert is to order it with Fiordolio olive oil and sea salt topping $ 2. Huh? Say what? The ripened fruitiness of the olive oil with the brininess of the sea salt really enhanced the vanilla flavor. We couldn’t say no to the ricotta donuts. This isn’t the typical Homer Simpson kind of donut but a more sophisticated sugar coated round donut with the creamy ricotta in the center. Another perfect ending. Our server was attentive and we never felt rushed since we had an extended lunch break. What about the name? Zero Zero comes from the finely grounded flour used in their pizzas. When you’re thinking of your next hankering for pizza or Italian cuisine, suggest this place and be the Hero Hero! Thank you Mike C. for introducing us to another local favorite!

Excellentes pizza.

Had the margherita extra pizza there last night. Was overall nice but a bit burned. I found the pizza menu somewhat limited — don’t go there if you’re in the mood for peperoni, ham or pineapple pizza, that’s not on the menu. The restaurant itself as a place is good, the atmosphere was good and the staff is nice.
