Good tofu place and glad it’s nearby home. It’s tucked away in the corner of a plaza on the first floor so don’t be alarmed if you don’t see it and you think you’re in the wrong place. I ordered the Dumpling Tofu Soup and it was good. I tend to always order beef so I tried to order something different for a change and wasn’t disappointed. Unlimited amount of side dishes and iced tea are always a plus. Price was also good, in the median range you’d expect to pay for Korean tofu. Although I’m not a giant tofu fan, this place satisfied my craving. Will definitely come back the next time I’m in the mood for tofu.

Best tofu place I have even been to! Their galbi is just heavenly! Tofu is soft, soup is spicy, rich and incredibly tasty! Their service is great, and their sides are incredibly tasty as well! When it comes to Korean cuisine, this is THE place to go!

It was my first time here and my experience was very pleasant. The moment my friends and I sat down, they gave us tea and the small salad appetizers. For the great meal portions we got, the price is reasonable. The banchans aka the other small appetizers that come before your actual meal were delicious as well! You can also get free refills of the ones you like the most. We didn’t even have to ask, because their service is great! The waitress took the initiative to come up to our table and ask us if we wanted to refill any. Tip: parking is found in the lower lot of the plaza and rear of the plaza. The restaurant itself can be a bit hard to find if it’s your first time coming, but it is located in one of the 4 corners of the first floor. Unfortunately, there is no vegetarian options(their bibimbap has beef in it) but I’m sure you can ask that they take it out for you. All in all, great restaurant, awesome customer service, and will be coming back again if I’m ever craving korean food!

My favorite soon tofu place! I was young and naïve before I tried this place. I thought BCD was the best tofu place but I was so wrong. First, their service is way friendlier over here. I went in for lunch and there were barely any customers there so we got pretty subpar service. Also the ladies speak Chinese!!! Crazy considering the fact that I was just conversing with them in Korean a few minutes earlier. Their side dishes are also waaay better than BCD. They give you a wider variety and they seem fresher(though I can’t remember what side dishes they provided with). As for their soon tofu broth, I got their mushroom soon tofu which I loved! Their broth is a lot more consistent than BCD’s where BCD’s is a lot more watery with a thicker layer of «spice» that goes away with each spoonful. Here is a little more thicker? If that makes sense. It’s really flavorful and the spice does not leave you. Very good. I also have never tried just mushroom soon tofu. I usually order a meatier tofu soup, but the mushroom did not disappoint! So it’s good for vegetarians(unless soon tofu broth is out of meat broth??). Overall, try here before you set foot at BCD.

There aren’t too many Tofu options in the SGV — Lee’s Tofu and Yong Dong are two that I have frequented often. Decided to try this harder to pronounce place. It’s in a large complex with multiple businesses so we parked in the back and had to look around a bit. We got there around 12 and it was somewhat empty but began to fill up in the next 20 minutes. The restaurant itself is pretty big. We sat down and looked at the menu. There were some good lunch specials with tofu plus meat but seemed like too much food, so we just got tofu. I got a mushroom and clam and my dad got seafood. Then they brought out this rice tea which was interesting, a salad and a bunch of yummy sides — kim chi, potato salad, cucumber, fish cake(which was my favorite), seaweed and bean sprouts. We refilled the fish cake and bean sprouts while we waited for our tofu which took maybe 8 – 10 minutes. The tofu came out piping hot and the waitress cracked the egg into our bowls for us. We also got a hot pot of rice along with it. I really liked the tofu — medium spicy and very tasty. The only difference I’d say from Yong Dong is that they give you a variety of mushrooms which include enoke, while this is just the standard mushroom. But still, a pretty good place for tofu — nice staff, yummy sides and reasonably priced.

Yup, it’s good. As least for company takeout. Person A helped me carry one of two boxes to my car. More importantly, they provided so much banchan and the soondoubu was super douber. Spicy pork and bulgogi from the lunch special combos were greasy but tasty good, all those onions tho. Rabokki(spicy rice cakes), I thought it came with ramen but turns out to be very underwhelming; maybe they misheard my phone order — still where’s my ramen? Bibimbap was delish.

I’d suggest coming here during less busy hours cause the food quality and service definitely suffers a tad bit. But if you do come at an off time. You’ll be seated immediately with great service and amazing food. We had gotten the galbi with is the short ribs and they were amazing. It came out on a sizzling plate with stone pot rice and a bunch of yummy side dishes. Definitely a treat for your taste buds

Well A Ri Rang! Strong comeback and great meal. Went back last week and was greeted, seated and had a great service. They definitely bounced back from the last time with a renewed effort all around the restaurant. Gotta say that they work hard, but are not running around with no focus — super job. An eye was kept on the banchans and the water/tea. Important with the extra hot tofu soup. Looking forward to our next visit!

Pretty spacious inside. Good for large groups. We came here close to closing time, but service and food were still great. I really enjoyed the banchan and the japchae. The combination tofu soup and bibimbap were okay. It was a lot of food for 3 people, and we ended up having enough leftovers for dinner for two the next day. Price point is fine, especially for the amount of food.

Great Korean food just a couple of miles away from home. I love this place and I hope that never changes! PARKING Parking is always difficult if you are looking to park in the small plaza, but they have parking in the rear and you’ll have a lot more luck there! INTERIOR/EXTERIOR Looks to be very small from the outside, but its actually quite spacious inside! Many tables to cater to your party and no long wait time during my visit. Nice and clean design! MENU Dinner menu pricing for the weekends and on holidays. I’d go regardless of the occasion because their food was delicious! Sides were brought out and refilled promptly and they were great. Loved the potatoes most but enjoyed the broccoli, seaweed, and fishcake as well. For our meal, we ordered the combination dishes. The beef tofu soup with the bulgogi and the seafood tofu soup with the galbi. It came with rice in the stone pot but I always run out of rice to go with my tofu soup. Overall, it was a really satisfying meal and I can’t wait to be back! SERVICE Nice and attentive workers. We were greeted upon arrival and were consistently visited to see if we needed anything else.

This place gets paaaaacked. It’s not bad. but it’s meh. Decently priced, really nicely decorated, tons and tons of delicious banchans, but the flavor of their soondobu didn’t really deliver. For me at least. I got their dumpling soup(as usual) and the taste of the actual dumplings tasted like Jasmine tea. Is that how it’s supposed to be? Idk, but it tasted strange. The spicy flavor was definitely pretty spicy. but enough to handle. The amount of rice given was kind of a small portion for the amount of soup. Bf seemed to enjoy his beef soup as well as his galbi ribs… which were also a small portion.

Who would have thought you could get pretty bomb soondubu in middle of SGV?! Tofu soup craving satisfied. +A Ri Rang Tofu is tucked inside the corner of a plaza. It’s kind of hard to find unless you walk around the plaza door by door but know that it’s on the first floor corner! Plenty of parking space available with underground parking available as well. +A Ri Rang serves total of 8 banchans, which is a lotttttt. I think my favorite soondubu place only gives about 5 banchans so this is an automatic win right here. +They offer cold barley tea. MMMMMMM. I love me some unsweetened tea! +I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee the service at A Ri Rang. My boyfriend and I were genuinely surprised because most SGV restaurant employees are SO rude and short with their words but A Ri Rang employees were SO nice from the get-go. They welcomed us with a warm smile and they brought re-fills for ALL of the banchans without us even asking for it and offered to bring 2nd re-fills when it was starting to get empty but we kindly declined since it was too much food lol. They also made sure our cold barley tea cups weren’t empty at no given time as well. A++ service! +I really like Cho Dang Tofu in Torrance so I’m really torn between Cho Dang and A Ri Rang about their soondubu but I think A Ri Rang’s soondubu is a bit more creamier and spicier so A Ri Rang wins! +Receipt offers tip calculation and A Ri Rang’s calculate tip based on pre-tax. Awesome! –Side salad that they provide had no flavor. I mean they definitely put some kind of dressing on it but it was super watered down. But I can care less about the side salad so it’s nothing noteworthy. –A Ri Rang serves rice in the stone pot but the rice was a bit mushy. I think they put too much water so if they cut back on the water, the rice consistency should be perfect! –Both my boyfriend and I agreed that A Ri Rang doesn’t put enough ingredients in the soondubu. He ordered beef soondubu and I ordered mushroom but his had less beef and mine had less enoki mushroom compared to Cho Dang’s portion. If A Ri Rang improves on above, I’ll bump up the review to 5 stars easily. Keep doing what you’re doing A Ri Rang!

I love how close this place is to home. A bit hidden and parking is limited as it is shared with other businesses. There is also underground parking, entrance located in the back. This place gets packed for dinner but service is fast. They really try to get you in a out quick. I like their endless appetizers selection better than other places. I’m a huge tea drinker and I was glad they end up just giving me my own pitcher. My husband and I usually get one combo meat/tofu and an extra tofu dish and that’s more than enough for us.

This place is in the corner of a plaza with ample free parking in the back. I like their selection of ban chan side dishes. Their dishes range from potato, fish cake, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, bean sprouts and they’re refillable. Their tofu soups are $ 10 and they have really good combo options such as spicy pork, bulgogi and pork cutlet. Their tofu pots are pretty big and the service was good! I wasn’t super thirsty after I ate here so I know they don’t overload on the MSG. You also get a free canned soda with Unilocal check-in! I would definitely come back here.

I remember liking A Ri Rang the first time I had it with my family. So I decided to bring my friend here for lunch because she’s never had korean food. The second time around was just as delicious as I remembered if not better! The lunch prices are very reasonable for the large amount of food you receive. They offer so many banchan dishes! I like the simple yet tasty salad they offer at the beginning of the meal. Spicy pork was tender and seasoned well. The kimchi tofu soup with beef was filled with small pieces of beef and was ohhhh so good! My friendly equally enjoyed her galbi and pork tofu soup. She’s already asked when we’re coming back again! Service was friendly and pretty fast considering it was during the busy lunch rush. Probably one of the best places in the area for tofu soup!

Summary: 5 stars for tofu soup and potato salad banchan, but service not attentive(staff are still very friendly though); large portion —— The first time I had soondubu at A Ri Rang, my jaw dropped and I wolfed it down so fast that I burned my tongue and felt it well into the next day. Finding it was a bit of a Where’s Waldo moment, though! The restaurant is located in a 90 degree angle corner of the small Sunny Plaza. The parking situation can get cramped, and each spot is technically 30 minutes only. When I walked inside, there was no host at the front podium. I made a beeline to the back bar with the cash register and asked for a seat. Luckily, I was seated right away. But I was tucked away in a corner and felt a little forgotten, as I was not checked on aside from ordering and receiving my food. My server was very nice regardless, and gave me two scoops of potato salad when I asked for a refill and exclaimed that it was so yummy. After I was finished, I found that it was hard to get in the line of sight of the waitstaff due to my table position, and walked to the register to pay and ask for to-go containers. Now let me take a moment to talk about the banchan. I received a large variety, including: — BESTPOTATOSALADBANCHAN! The potato salad had sparse sprinkling of corn and raisins in it. Smooth, creamy, and sweet, the sweetness seemed to emanate from the center of each bite and lingered on back of tongue. At the same time, it was savory. It was mind boggling. It was also so good that I ate two more scoops. — Fish cake(a tad too salty) with onions and bell peppers — Marinated seaweed(sour, also a touch salty) — Kimchi — Marinated bean sprouts(sweet and mild; delicious!) — Iceberg lettuce dressed with sesame oil and white sesame(lacked salt) — Cucumbers marinated in sweet and spicy chili — Mung bean jelly served with soy sauce for dipping TOFUSOUPORDERED: — Beef, mild spicy(first level spice). My server cracked my egg for me. The soup broth was thick, rich, and velvety. I found that the spiciness made my nose run, but did not overpower the broth flavor. My stone pot was crammed to the BRIM with large chunks of soft, soft tofu that gave the term«silken tofu» justice. The only negative was that the thinly chopped beef got hard and overcooked quickly. Rice was served in a sizzling hot stone bowl, so the delectably chewy Korean rice got crispy very quickly. You need to put in some elbow grease to scrape it down without burning yourself, but it’s worth it. I paid around $ 12 after tax and tip and still got another meal out of my tofu soup!

This is my absolute favorite place to go for tofu soup and thinking about this place makes me happy and hungry. I come here so often the workers recognize me. The tofu soup is so so flavorful and creamy and I love how they give you so much meat in the tofu which I wouldn’t find at BCD. The side dishes are really good and I love the salad that comes at the beginning of the meal. So yummy! The prices are cheaper than BCD and Young Dong I believe. The meat as I remember it is also very flavorful and delicious. Service is excellent and very attentive and I never have any complaints. Will always return here when I’m craving tofu soup and not in Irvine. The only downside is leaving this place smelling like tofu soup but that’s not too bad I guess.

I came here multiple times and this is one of the better soondubu(Korean tofu) places in the SGV area! It looks tiny from the outside but it’s pretty spacious inside and there’s rarely a wait for all the times that I came here for dinner. I really like their beef soondubu. The broth is on point, and the meat is delicious. Unfortunately, they do not come with an egg for you to dump into your pot unless you want to pay extra, I think. In addition, the galbi(spare ribs) are pretty delicious too! Very yummy! But other than that, the banchan side dishes are delicious(seaweed, kimchi, fish cake, potato salad, kimchi cucumber, sprouts, etc) and come in a huge variety! Parking is easy as there is underground parking. Credit cards accepted and service is friendly.

JIGAE is what I love. And thankfully, A Ri Rang is close enough I don’t have to venture to Ktown for tofu. Not like Ktowns is the best one either.(My personal favorite is Seoul Garden in New York City) The seafood jigae is the way to go, not even the mixed one with beef(flavor is just not my cup of soup). The tofu is excellent, great quality and fresh tasting. Go for the mild, because medium will make you sweat. The ban chan is excellent and very varied, prices are average $ 10 per soup and the service quick and efficient. Don’t get me wrong, I make it a goal in life to try all jigaes that I can, but when I feel like not getting thrown under the bus that night, I will come here and know that I will leave happy, satisfied and bloated from the sodium. The short ribs are fine, not my fave. I have had the bibimbap too and its great. Can’t really go wrong with anything! GOODSTUFFGUYS
