this was the day we were gonna try something different. the last time we ate at a tofu house, we noticed a group of people sitting on a table next to us slurping away on a bowl of noodles in cold broth. we were curious but werent brave enough to give it a shot then. but left knowing we just added something to our to try list. well, this just happened to be the day. the weather was scorching hot and we were starving. we decided to drive down valley and pick out something that seemed appealing. we notice this tofu house and said wth, lets give it a shot. cold noodles on a hot day? why not. parking was atrocious, but luckily i found street parking. this plaza hosts nothing but restaurants. the place is small and semi clean. we get seated and proceed to order. one galbi, one bulgogi, and one cold noodles. galbi and bulgogi were alright, but the portions were kinda small. the cold noodles were exactly what they were advertised as, cold. it just didnt do it for either of us. kinda pricey for the amount of food we were given and we left semi hungry.

I like this place so much!!! I’m always here for tofu soup with my GF! Although everytime she gets stomachache but she always loved to come back.(My gf is probably allergic to some ingredient inside the tofu soup) I personal think this place is better than the«Yuen Dong» near Las Tunas in San Gabriel. 2 lady works there and they are friendly… Definitely recommend to my friends to visit.!!

Have you ever had a craving for something? Pregnant ladies might know what I’m talking about… when I said craving, it means«you gotta have it!!!» So… one sunny day, out of nowhere, I suddenly craved for a Soon tofu… Alas, I lived in Monterey Park and there’s no good Korean restaurant around and I didn’t feel like driving 20 miles to Tofu House in L.A. So I drove around until I stumbled upon BJ tofu house. It’s so small that I almost missed it… I hesitated for awhile, but with the craving, I said to myself«WTH!!! Let’s go for it tummy!!!» I went in and ordered the Soon Tofu(very spicy one please!!!) I waited waited waited… I even finished my kimchee and my beansprout, even though they’re not too good. It took them like 20 minutes to make my Soon Tofu from scratch… but finally I tasted it, ITWASSURPRISINGLYGOOD!!! It was better than Tofu House’s Soon tofu… I got addicted… However, their other plates are so so… don’t order them otherwise you will waste your money… Now, I’m their frequent customer… :) BUTBEWARE, the owner has an evil tendency to ruin your white shirt… Every time I went there with a white t-shirt or shirt, she would deliberately placed the soup bowl very close to you… The soup was bubbling hot, so it would pop splashes unto you(your white t-shirt) and it would stain your shirt. I did back down every time, but(I think) she(deliberately) didn’t even realize that I got annoyed with what she was doing… Aside from that, the Soon Tofu… is good!!! I mean GOOD!!!

Cheap and tasty korean food in a dumpy strip mall. Try the zejiang mian(I like the korean version better than the chinese), the plump dumplings(mandu), and the kimchi pork rice — kimchi bokumbab –(strange looking, but strangely tasty)
