Food here is excellent– Best place for Korean Tofu. You can also order other dishes if you are going as a group, or share a combo. Family-favorite for Korean tofu. I ordered the clam tofu. Recommend the seafood tofu, some of the clam meat is smaller than the others. FYI — We ordered brown rice, but it looks like their new multi-grain rice. Their beef is excellent, a must try.

So much better than BCD Tofu, hands down! Lots of flavor and spice is on point. Service was a bit slow but it was late/closing time and I can’t blame them, nonetheless they were patient and asked if we needed anything else. Definitely coming back!

I enjoyed the food here, but not the environment at all. I came just as Socal is getting ready to experience a heat wave. I came for dinner and the restaurant is so hot. It was uncomfortable the moment we sat down. And eating boiling tofu does not help. The food is good, we got two tofu combos and the galbi was really good. The sides were pretty solid as well, the pancake isn’t chewy enough but all the rest were quite good. Tofu itself is flavorful, but not spicy enough because we got spicy and it tastes maybe like a medium. Although with how stuffy it was in the restaurant, I’m glad my tofu wasn’t any more spicy. It’s a big restaurant, how can you not have the ac on higher? I asked a waiter(at least I think he was a waiter, because he had on the same shirts as the other waiters) if he could turn the ac on higher. He looked like he didn’t really understand me and told me he couldn’t turn it on any higher. Either way, I’m not coming back again in the summer.

I’m giving a one star review SOLELY based on service and not food. I’ve been coming to this restaurant and never really had a problem until now. Came here on a Tuesday night and waited ~15 minutes for a table for a party of 6 which wasn’t so bad. Anyways, my family was ready to order within 5 minutes but nobody came around to get our order. It took about 10 minutes for someone to actually realize that we wanted to get food. Interesting. Anyways, after we ordered, we got our usual side dishes, but only got one serving for 6 people. I questioned if we were going to get another serving of side dishes since we had a larger party. My mom asked a waiter for more side dishes and he said«ok» but didn’t fulfill our request. Also, we only got one egg for the four soups our party had. My mom wasn’t having it at all and asked the waiter if we could have more eggs. The waiter simply gave us a confused look like«Huh? Only one egg?» Well, no duh! As a waiter, you’re supposed to observe and see what a table is lacking. Anyways, throughout the night, it took FOREVER for our dishes to come out. First it was the side dishes, then it was the tofu soup that came out 15 minutes later, then only ONE stonepot rice came out, then the other rices came out, then the pork cutlet, the fried fish, the ribs, THEN the fish cutlet. Besides having slow service, there was an incident where the busboys were cleaning a table besides where my mom was sitting, where they slammed the dishes inside the cart and some oil got onto my mom. It’s understandable that people need to be seated and therefore, there needs to be a clean table fast, it’s unacceptable to work fast and sloppy, where you damage someone’s clothes. What if a person was allergic to something and had an allergic reaction? Although my mom scolded at them during the moment, the two men just snickered as they received their criticism. They also wanted 15% tip and circled the tip section? Unbelievable. The food here is great. I love getting the mushroom tofu soup with medium spice. The side dishes are always great. My favorites are the bean sprouts and the seaweed. The fish cutlet and the pork cutlet are always crispy and tasty. The ribs here are also very delicious and are full of taste. I just don’t know if I would come again because of the service that I’m receiving. I feel like every time I come here, the service just gets worse and worse.

Depending on n the time that you’re going, this place gets packed at times. Go for the combo. Combo is enough to share unless you’re super hungry. There’s unlimited sides as well.

Years ago, I used to like this place a lot, but then it got very crowded, so it had been a few years since I’d been back. I went a couple of months ago, and then tried it again today. Both times, it was a disappointment. The prices are high compared to A Ri Rang, and the selection is smaller. The starter is a salad with an orange colored mayonnaise dressing. The drink choices are hot barley tea or water. Cold barley tea is not an option. The banchan was so-so. They gave us kimchi, cucumber, pickled squid, seaweed, bean sprouts, and a very greasy mung bean cake. The food was OK. Nothing notable. We had squid tofu, mushroom tofu, and stone pot bibimbap. All competent, but lackluster in flavor. It’s nice that they give you a choice of purple or white rice, but strange that they have posters on the walls showing a brown colored multigrain rice instead. The worst part was the service. Just like the last time I was here, the staff is completely indifferent, as in they don’t give a damn about you. The when you wave at the servers, they often look you straight in the eye, and then ignore you. No one came by to offer banchan refills, but you can get them if you manage to get someone’s attention. By the time we were done with our meal, the place was half empty. Even though there were plenty of staff, it still took forever to flag someone down to get the bill, and then to come back again to pick it up with my credit card. Totally lackluster in both food and service. I’m not going to come back again. There are other much better options in the area. The only notable things about Young Dong are the squid tofu and the purple rice.

The restaurant is really small. Tables are very close to each other. The waiters and servers can not even get through to deliver the food to the tables. Service is fast like always. People have the tendency to come and eat and go. How long are you really gonna take to eat tofu know you. I’ve been here couple of times the food and service was great but recently I do not know what happen. I order the octopus rice stone pot and some other BBQ meat. To get to the point, I was on the toilet the whole night after dinner. I believe I’ve gotten food poisoning. Not only I had stomach problems, I was burning up with cold sweats. Don’t order the octopus rice stone pot!

I dunno if this is the same Young Dong as the one in Arcadia, or if ALLLL the Korean restaurants in 626 are called Young Dong??? But I’m gonna assume they’re the same thing lol. The menu is different though, so I could be wrong. But anyway who gives a shit. I LOVE their spicy octopus stone pot rice. I ordered it as a combo with the tofu soup, which was a great deal btw??? That stone pot rice is huge. I love that it comes out sizzling and delicious, and not that spicy but definitely flavorful. I think it’s best that you share this, cos it’s not that good if you take your leftovers… the octopus gets all hard and rubbery, and you don’t want that lol. UNLESS. of course. you can finish it. The tofu soup was good, but for whatever reason I didn’t think it was as good as the other YD lol. Still good though. The banchan is bombskis as always. The restaurant is huge so plenty of seats. I don’t know if I’d go out this far to come here, since I still live in Arcadia(and that YD is better to me) and that location is just much closer lol. BUT. if I happen to be in the area, and I’m craving some spicy octopus stone pot rice, then yes! I will be there. Or I mean, if I just wanna be there, I’ll be there. Let me live.

Yuuuum, getting my Korean food fix here. I love their banchan side dishes here. They don’t have the fried fish, which is totally fine with me, but they give the fried egg pancake thing! Will come for lunch combos! Their service might not be the greatest/they might not understand you but it’s ok– the food makes up for it.

This was my first time at a tofu soup place and, as a non-tofu lover, I was skeptical. It far exceeded my expectations though and I was very pleasantly surprised! They brought out lots of appetizer-like dishes for us to share. The food seemed very authentic and I liked everything I had(except for the scallion pancake)! I got the pork dumpling tofu soup and was content with it and the purple rice. Not my favorite kind of food but I would go back again with a group!

This review is definitely long OVERDUE. Tofu houses are always my GOTO/DEFAULT, if I can’t decide what to eat. It’s my comfort food, even though I’m Chinese. Those tofu soups and meats just pleases my appetite. The non combination prices are ridiculous, with $ 10/tofu soup and on average $ 13/meat. The combination prices are on average $ 17/combo(tofu soup/meat), makes sense if you choose the latter. More bang for your buck !! And there’s plenty of free sides, to keep you satisfied til your meal comes. I love Korean restaurants for their free sides! Especially if they have the fish or pancake side. Definite yum. Pricing: tofu houses are always relatively expensive. On average $ 20/person Portion: 1.5: 1(entrée:person) Parking: plaza parking Ambiance: loud, brightly lit Service: quick, most of time nice Obviously I would come back ! It’s mahhh GOTOFOOD

Prices are high for the quality. BCD gives so much better value. The pajeon was horrible. I think it’s one of the worst I’ve ever had. I ordered C4. The spicy chicken was served on a hot plate, and the meat that touched the plate was charred black. The osyter tofu was decent. About 4 counts of oysters. I think that’s a little stingy. The brown rice was good, a little on the dry side, but I think it’s just the nature of the rice. Banchan was meh. Service was pretty bad. Took a while for the servers to notice me waving my hand for a water refill. Their food portions for the regular, not lunch, is quite generous. I shared the C4 combo with a friend and we were both full. They offer free iced water or hot tea, your choice. It wasn’t a horrible lunch, but I think there are plenty of better places. Plenty of parking in the lot, but it’s hard to find an open space. You gotta do the car stalking thing.

Only came because they were opened until late [(last call 10:45pm) and A Ri Rang Tofu’s was 9:30pm] With the colder than usual winter and most restaurants closing by 9:30pm this was a close option. I don’t know why, but if they are a tofu house, the jigaes must be good… but they weren’t. Ordered the Clam tofu jigae(mild) and seafood tofu jigae(medium). Each $ 10.99 at dinner time. The soups had NOFLAVOR, extremely mild tasting, almost mostly hot seafood broth. The tofu was silky and good, but the soup a total miss. The Mixed rice was also not good, because it was clear they were sitting for a long time in the heat and the bottom was burnt and instead of crunchy(from the stone pot) it was chewy! :( The banchan/apps though were good, especially the kimchi(not overly salty, nicely spicy) I had to add kimchi to the jigae so it could taste better. Either way, not good in its own. BIGMISS for me. I love soon dubu jigaes, even traveling to Seoul just for it, and I can say I have had my fair share of jigaes. I did not enjoy this one. For SGV tofu, go to A Ri Rang or drive to Ktown.

This place is spectacular! My favorite Tofu place ever. The place is usually always busy and the wait ranges from 15 — 45 minutes. It is well worth the wait though. The only bad thing is the place is very small and the seats inside are very close and usually after ordering there will not be enough room on the table for everything you ordered, since they do provide a lot of side dishes. The service here is nice, I never had an issue when coming. It is just a bit scary when they bring the rice, since it is in a clay bowl thats very hot. I am always nervous that it might drop on me. I usually get the combination with Beef and Pork Dumpling Tofu mild spicy. Just a heads up, I came the other night and I was able to specatate someone getting a ticket for parking in a 15 minute parking zone, after the security called the parking enforcement. So do not park in those spots and think that the security will not notice, because he will.

Hello my Unilocalies, I’ve been to this tofu place many times in the past few years. Parking here is very convenient, because they have a huge parking lot right in front which is shared with the 168 supermarket. I really like this place because of the amount of food they give you. Right when you sit down they give everyone a salad bowl with their Korean side dishes(you can always ask for more if you want) Today I decided to get the Dumpling Tofu Soup(Extra Spicy), I love how they have a choice of brown or white rice, knowing me I definitely get the brown rice. My boyfriend decided to get the C11 Bibimbab with Tofu Soup($ 18.99), I hate him because that was what I was planning to order but it’s okay since we always share. I love their bibimbab, this place definitely have the best. Their portion is very large, the bulgogi was at least a quarter of the pot, so you definitely get what you pay for. They season the tofu soup very well, I love my dumpling soup. I had about 6 – 7 dumplings with perfect amount of seasoning, the texture was definitely on point. I love it when tofu soup places let their tofu soak in the broth for a long period of time so the tofu can suck in all the taste. One little thing I was a little disappointed is when they give out the free Korean pancake. The one I got have definitely been sitting there for over 30 minutes, it was very hard that I couldn’t even cut it into pieces. But good thing the waiter was very kind to change it for us, that is one of my favorite thing to eat at this place so I definitely had to let them know because I couldn’t leave without eating that. Also their kimchi is actually probably the worst kimchi I have ever tried, it was so hard to bite and it was just way too sweet, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me so it’s no problem. Overall, service 5 stars, food 4 stars, environment and decoration 3 stars, atmosphere 3 stars. I’ll definitely come back again in the near future.

Bibimbap had a lot of ingredients, but the stone bowl wasn’t hot enough to get the rice super crispy. Also, the gochujang was super salty and ruined the whole bowl for me since I put a lot on my bibimbap. No potato salad banchan. Spicy squid and seaweed were really good. Tofu was enjoyed by my friends, but I would be hard pressed to return to this location especially since there are so many other Korean restaurants around.

it’s the standard soon dubu fare. It meets my expectations. Plenty of food for the average pricing. I really like that you can get the wild rice and it comes in a stone pot, without extra charge. Beef Kalbi in a combo is just standard. It’s juicy and well marinated.

This is my go-to Korean food & comfort food where I expect to KTFO right after. COMBO #1 is the way to go. Customer service could be a bit better because they kind of get that«oh my god» look if you have a huge group. And I had one experience where one waiter asked us «are you sure that’s all you need?» as if it was such a HUGE problem to check on us again. I like the fact that there are unlimited sides(I love their bean sprouts). Combo #1 is the bomb! You get to choose a soup with the beef rib meat & trust me, the meat is DROOLtastic. I love their seafood soup with mild spicy ness. The only thing that’s a downside is that the shrimp are as small as my thumbs. Haha. But overall, I like this place! I don’t here that often but when I do, combo #1 is my only choice. Just remember to floss after this meal!

Friday dinner wait, 5 people ahead of me. I was seated shortly after I took one walk around the plaza. Those mini appetizers– I think a ri ring tofu house had better toppings. I like vegetables but did not enjoy theirs so I told them to clear it. Pancake taste like those yellow mung beans, yuck. Order combination! For the tofu soup, its only $ 1 difference than if you were to order just the meat dish and rice. $ 17.99, worth it. For the meat dish I ordered spicy chicken and brown rice with beef as my tofu soup choice. My eating partner in crime ordered pork cutlet with brown rice and dumpling tofu soup. His soup had beef too. Everything was good, pork cutlet tasted like chicken katsu. Their Brown rice is so pretty, it was purple. The dumpling was vegetable dumplings, I liked it. My spicy chicken was on a skillet, can never go wrong with chicken. The soup was good, it came with an egg and that took forever to cook. The trick is to put the egg under the tofu and soup to cook quicker. Total bill for 2 people was $ 38/before tip.

Been hearing friends raving on Young Dong’s tofu soup and I’m finally here to try! =) MENU Well this restaurant has one of the easiest to order menu, with no flipping of pages required. Menu is simple, neat with nice professional photos and it doesn’t take me long to decide what to order! FOOD We had an early dinner on labour day, and we’re lucky that more than half of the restaurant is unoccupied. Sat down, order, and less than 10 minutes all our food came: ~ Beef Seafood Tofu Soup(with Beef, Shrimp, Clam) $ 9.99. Soup is very flavorful, but the only thing I don’t really like is the shrimps are too tiny, no meat. Other than that everything is good. 9⁄10 ~ Pork Cutlet is extremely crispy and not oily. Relatively huge portion too! $ 13.999⁄10 ~ My favorite side dish is the Spicy Cucumber and Kimchi! Very crunchy and fresh and makes me wanna have more. Least favorite is the Spicy Squid(I think so. No idea what that really is, it’s very hard to chew and I gave up after trying 2 pieces).
