If you haven’t had the lobster and noodles, you haven’t been here! We got this our first time here, and it was delicious. The bo luc lac(that beef dish) is savory and tender. I’ll need to remember to have it cooked the way we’d like beef to be cooked(medium); our order came quite rare. Even so, it tasted pretty good and decided not to send it back. I’d also recommend the clams with basil. Park the car in Harvard Yard.(:))(Seriously, parking in the lot is tight. You may want to park across the street in the Super Store lot on the other side of Valley.)

This place is my family’s go to place on special occasions for sure! My dad heard that the chef from Newport left that place and came here so we decided to come here and yes the food here is absolutely amazing. I never eat much lobster, but it’s so hard not to when it’s so good. We tried the lobster with noodles for the first time and it is so good. I couldn’t have enough of it! I think it tastes best when eaten with the lobster though. I love the kung pao chicken here too! I’ve had kung pao chicken from a lot of places, but nowhere beats this place. Sometimes my family would order take out from here and just get this because it’s that good. The flavoring is just right, not too salty or anything. I typically don’t eat onions, but I’m down to eat it if it’s with the kung pao chicken from here. My parents also love the catfish soup here. I’m not a fan of soup, so I can’t say, but my parents love it so I can only assume it’s worth noting. I highly recommend coming early or just ordering out because the wait is so brutal, especially on a Sunday or on holidays. My family usually order and pick it up because the wait is usually so long. The atmosphere may not be the same as dining in, but I’d rather that than to wait for hours. The service here is good though! From the couple of times that we have dined in here, the waiter(idk his name sorry) has been really friendly and would talk to us sometimes too! I think it’s mostly because he recognizes us from Newport since he used to work there as well. If you’re ever looking for some good food, definitely give this place a try!

– 40⁄100 reviews for 2016 – Always wanted to try this place after Newport Seafood because I heard one of the chefs opened their restaurant after leaving Newport Seafood. First thing first, PARKINGSUCKS so good luck finding parking or you can always park across the street at the Supermarket Plaza then walk over. Wait time can be pretty long because a lot of people seem to go to this restaurant as an alternative to Newport Seafood, i suppose? The time I came here, a lot of people ordered party trays. If there is a wait, go in to the front and get number and wait to be called. During the night that we came, we opt for the set meals and got the Cat Fish Hot & Sour Soup, Kung Pao Chicken, Clams with Basil Sauce, and Peasprouts. We also ordered a lobster because that’s what we came for. They told us the lobster was 4 pounds but it came out to about 5 pounds on the bill. They charge $ 16 a pound so our bill was pretty pricey. The lobster was amazing though, they cook it with butter, sugar, pepper, etc. The lobster we got had little eggs so we got to have some lobster eggs! The set meal was just okay because I’m used to eating chinese food all my life. I would come back for their lobster though, it was really meaty.

Got here at 8:30PM and still had to wait 45 minutes to sit. As absurdly long that wait time is at 8:30PM and how expensive the total bill was, ITWASDEFINITELYWORTHTHEWAIT. This place is home to arguably the best Chinese-style cooked lobster and noodles. Its beef chunks(not sure what the dish is actually called haha), clams and shark fin soup were also delicious. Back to the star of the show: the lobster and noodles. Sprinkled with jalapeños, chives, and tons of roe, the lobster was juicy and well seasoned with the garlic sauce. It was a relatively good amount of lobster as well. The medium size was more than enough for my family of four, and we are all big eaters. Service was also good despite how busy it was. I really enjoyed their food but will be saving my next visit to this place for another special occasion. Prepare to have your wallet emptied at this place!

Super scrumptious, lip-smacking, finger-sucking goodness! The two of us ordered a «small» house-special lobster, garlic noodles, and bo luc lac(shaken beef). Tab was approx. $ 100 before tip. First came the bo luc lac — it was tender, savory, and well-cooked. I particularly enjoyed the peppery sauce that blanketed the steak, and the generous garnishes of lettuce, tomatoes, and sliced raw onions. Next came a HUGE platter of stir-fried lobster over a bed of steaming garlic noodles. Mah-gawd, I couldn’t believe this was the«small.» I immediately dug in, nearly losing a couple fingers from eating so beastly. The flavor and qualify of the lobster is very similar to Newport Tan Cang — apparently, the chef left over there to start shop here. However, the jovial but efficient service/staff make Boston Lobster my new go-to for asian style lobster. Service was stupendous! My plates of empty lobster shells was often replaced with clean plates, waters were constantly filled, and napkins(the good quality paper kind) was plentiful. At the end, they offer a a plate of fresh sliced oranges. YUM! Waiters were in good spirits and joked often at our table. I will definitely be back. Thank you, Boston Lobster!

LOBSTER! LOBSTER! LOBSTERRRRR!!! I’ve driven by this place for the last few years and always passed because parking has been a pain in the ass. There’s a teensy tiny parking lot, and a quarter of the spots are«reserved» for other businesses. Your best bet is to go a few blocks down and make the walk. Honestly, after the fulfilling meal, you’d probably best walk it off. What I was amused with here was that every table seemed to order the same thing! 1) some sort of veggie; 2) clams; 3) mongolian beef; 4) an optional seafood soup; and 5) LOBSTER with garlic noodles! To be honest, the veggies, clams, beef, and soup were just OK. Not bad, but on par with every other guangdong restaurant around here. The star here though was the lobster! Very garlicky, lots of green onions. and DAMNGOOD. Group of 6, with leftovers = $ 197 w/o tip.

Amazing food! Excellent service! Horrible parking lot! We ate here today and it was epic! We ordered the house special lobster(with garlic noodles) and shaken beef. Both dishes were soooo damn good! I kid you not, you will love it. Worth every penny. This place is small and popular so expect a wait. I like the old school Chinese restaurant vibe. It’s not the fanciest place ever but the food will make up for the décor. Staff is super friendly and very attentive. Most of the waiters cracked jokes with us. It made us feel very welcome, like we were eating at an old Uncles house or something. Our dirty plates constantly got replaced throughout the meal. Like 5 times I think. Parking is difficult. You might have to park across the street due to the lack of spaces. I strongly recommend eating here if you’re craving Asian style seafood.

Boston Lobster Special with Noodles. Pure… blissful… decadence. The rest of the food was good as well, but the special was a show stopper. Their smallest portion includes pounds of lobster perfectly cooked in some of the most flavorfully cooked noodles and accessories you will have the great fortune to consume. I ordered this with the BF. We were in beast mode from not eating all day and being taunted by all the great looking food on the tables as we waited for our name to be called. We had zero chance of finishing this plate. We tried. O Lord did we try. No chance. This can easily feed 4 hungry people. The walnut shrimp were a side note. A good one, but one recommendation I would have is to order this as a shared plate as the sauce on the shrimp is very rich and would be overwhelming for most on its own.

Rating bump! Be ready for a wait for weekend dinners! Came at 6:45 expecting a long wait and was given a 45 minute wait time. Not to bad. Was surprised we actually were seated at 45 minutes. When we sat at 7:30, the wait was an hour and a half. Small restaurant, so the wait is pretty crazy. Service was top notch this visit. They gave us everything we asked for, they changed out our plates every time a dish came out, and refilled out water and tea constantly. Totally unheard of for an asian restaurant. Very happy the prices were exactly the same as when I last visited. The lobster was cheaper by 4 cents at $ 16.95 a pound. Everything we reordered in my previous review was delicious, Lobster with Noodles, Bo Loc Lac, Ma Po Tofu, and Pea Sprouts. Salt and Pepper Crab — $ 15.95 per pound — Seasoning was good, a tad salty for me but my family had no complaints. Crab was good, a little over. Less meat then the lobster though. Happy the shells are cracked for you. Walnut Shrimp — $ 15.95 — Typical Chinese food. I thought it was good but nothing special. Basil Clams — $ 11.95 — Ton of clams in this dish. Love the mix of basil and chili peppers. To correct my last review, rice is actually 50 cents a person.

Very good food. Specially the lobster. Recommended by family and now we will do the same to our friends as well. We came here knowing what to order. It was definitely what we expected. Quality, taste and service was excellent.

Came here on Saturday before Mother’s Day and OMG this place was packed! Luckily for me I had reservations, yes they take these here. Regardless I still had to wait 30 minutes and it was ok, when you come to eat on a holiday like Mother’s Day, your asking for it. Hands down on how the staff was professional and still attentive with it being so busy. Food is always great, do I really have to explain that? Lobster, shrimp, filet minion cubes, veggies, calamari, come hungry!

Go early. If you’re going for dinner, expect a long wait. When your party’s number is called, it feels like you’ve just been called up to be the next contestant on the Price is Right. You’re running through so many emotions that it’s also hard to tell if you’re living in reality or through the first five songs off of one of Drake’s albums. It’s the fine line between anticipation, happiness, sadness, hunger and relief. Yeah, that. I’m sure the word on the street was to get the lobster. Streets didn’t fail you this time. They got it on point. Listen to it and let it speak to you. And the price — IS — right. Very affordable and well proportioned with equal quantity and quality. Besides that, the service is 50⁄50 depending on how busy they are that night — which should be expected in any place. Don’t let it discourage you though. It’s real out here in these streets.

Don’t judge a book by its cover, this also goes for the restaurant. We make sure to come here before 5PM to avoid the crowds because once 5 rolls around you better snack on something before coming or else you will be starving before dinner because it gets very crowded. Boston Lobster is very affordable restaurant compare to Newport Seafood and the food is delicious! This place is my new go to place for lobster. The lobster is cooked perfectly and I also love having it with noodles. The other items on the menu like clams, Kung pao chicken, razor clams, Bo luc lac, and salt & pepper squid was good too. The crab was ok, there was no wow factor with it. We didn’t order it when we came here for a second time. The staff were courteous and funny too. I’ve only been here twice so far but I enjoyed the food each time. Happy Belly!

My visit here was pleasant and wait time is not long i guess its the fact that i was here on a weekday, service was fast and food was served right away. Place was clean and parking was getting packed already since other establishments share the lot. Place is pretty small size but cannot imagine how this place is on weekends where i hear its packed and wait times is ridiculous. Prices are reasonable considering its chinese authentic. I ordered the lobster noodle dish and its huge! Even for 4 people to split was a lot. Ordered the beef fried noodles. Clams on oyster sauce and steam rice i was set and so is my 3 other friends

Word on the street is that Newport Seafood Restaurant’s chef left and opened this spot. As a Newport Seafood Restaurant fan, I had to come check it out. Came here on a Thurs night. The restaurant is tucked in the corner of a janky plaza with Popeyes and other stores. Their lot is small so if its full park on the street. We came at around 530pm and there was a wait — not as long as Newport Seafood Restaurant — which was a good sign. It was our first time here and the nice waiter recommend some dishes for us. FYI we didn’t order all of the below our first time there — we came back twice in three days because its sooo good! Basil Clam: They recommended this one as the clams were big that day. Very fresh, sweet and meaty clams with garlic and basil flavor. Not a big or filling dish, but tasty. Bu Luc Lac: Cubed beef stir fried with salt and pepper and served on a bed of onions, tomato and lettuce. The beef was okay — not my favorite dish. Some bits were tender and other were tough. The veggies soaks up all the juices so its great. Its one of their signature dishes. Fried Pork Chop: Deep fried thin pieces of pork. They are very crispy, juicy and tender. Well seasoned. I like it more than the Bu Luc Lac. Fish: Not sure what the name of the dish was, but it was some really silky and buttery fish fillets in an amazing sauce!!! Lobster: This is what everyone comes here for and its worth the wait and every penny. I believe it is cheaper and better than Newport Seafood Restaurant. You won’t know the price as its a seasonal price. I think their smallest Lobster is 4lbs which is enough to share among 3 – 4 people assuming you order 2 or 3 other dishes. DOGETTHENOODLES. You’ll thank me later. The Lobster is meat, sweet and juicy. Its broken up for you so you can easily pick the meat out. The noodles are AMAZING. It soaks up all the lobster flavor plus garlic, chilies and other seasoning. Definitely get this if you come. If you don’t, go somewhere else. Overall, I was very very impressed with the food. Everything was incredible, delicious and affordable. What impressed me the most was service. Most Asian/Chinese establishments have a reputation of having bad service but this place is the opposite. Our waters were constantly filled, plates were always changed and they checked up on us 2 or 3 times if the food was good and if we were full. Definitely one of the better places for Chinese food in the 626. The wait isn’t as long as Newport Seafood Restaurant!

The lobster here was so juicy and moist! It’s definitely comparable to Newport Seafood, but for a much affordable price. 1 lb of lobster cost $ 16.95. The smallest size lobster is 4 – 5 lbs. so be ready to spend some big bucks if you come here. You can easily share a 4 lb. lobster between 4 people. We also ordered a side of veggies with rice so we don’t feel too guilty eating all the carbs. Our bill came out to $ 100 for 2. I came here during lunch and was seated right away. The parking lot here is horrible so you may have to park on the street. If you’ve never had Asian style lobster before, give it a try. Don’t even bother trying to ask for butter. This lobster is delicious by itself because it’s tossed in lots of garlic and green onions.

4.5 Star rounds up to 5! I am usually not a fan of lobster or crab because I am suck at picking the meat out of the shell. I have not been to too many lobster places and even in the all you can eat buffet I would skip the lobster section because peeling it off is just pain in the ass for me. However, I totally change my mind after coming to Boston Lobster. Decided to come here because my BF’s family wanted to try here. Unlike a lot of Chinese restaurants which gets a lot of bad reviews, this place has really great rating. When we arrived around dinner time, there was a line for this already. Food: We got basil clams, their famous lobster lo mein and bo luc lac. Basil Clams 3 Star– Nothing to rave about. I like the flavor of basil in the clams but I do not think the clam was fresh enough. I got kind of sick after eating several of them. Lobster Lo mein 5+++ Star– This dish was so bomb. I don’t know what they did to the lobster but it was super flavorful. They add a lot of garlic and scallions which add great spiky flavor and texture to the dish. The lobster meat was easy to pick out. My favorite part here though was instead, the noodle! The noodle has flavor of sauce, garlic, scallion and lobster tomalley. It was super addicting. I totally forogot its carb and could not help eating it! This place is not stingy in giving great amount of lobster at all. If you have total party of two I would highly suggest getting this dish and you will definitely get full from this. Can’t wait to go back for this! Bo Luc Lac 4 Star– The beef was really render and the black pepper really did a great job bringing up the flavor. I like to squeeze some lime on my beef to make it a little sour. I also enoyed the lettuce coming underneath the beef because the lettuce already absorbed so much juiced from beef. Overall a great dish. I would definitely come back and get their lobster noodle. The plaza has limited parking so you might have to find street parking.

Chinese restaurants serving family style dishes are a dime a dozen in the SGV. Boston Lobster stands apart from the crowd because of their lobster. As many reviews point to it, they are a knockoff of Newport Seafood since the chef of Newport came to open this restaurant etc etc. They have lunch specials which are a pretty good deal and portions aren’t small either. The chow mein was HUGE. Clams are also a good deal. Salt & pepper pork chop was perfectly crispy. But all these dishes can be eaten at other restaurants so above all else, make sure order the lobster! If you have two people then just go and order the lobster + noodles. If you have a bigger party then you can order the other dishes. But seriously, if you come here then get the lobster. Don’t forget to add the noodles! The noodles soak up the juices and is lathered with the onion, garlic, jalapenos. Bomb.

This has become my go to place in the San Gabriel Valley mostly because it’s my boyfriend’s family’s go to. Also, they live like two blocks away. I’ve spent countless lunches and dinners here as my boyfriend’s family frequently eats out. I’m pretty sure they’ve tried almost all the restaurants in San Gabriel since they’ve lived here so long, and the dad knows a lot of restaurant employees and employers. So this place must be good if we keep coming back. Boyfriend’s dad told us that this place was opened by one of the previous Newport chefs. Every time I’ve been here, they start off with sweet and sour soup. Lunch specials are very affordable here and lasts until 5. We usually order the sweet and sour meats and fried fish. My favorite dish here is the fried fish because of the super bomb tangy sauce that comes with it. It’s really good!!! I’ve also tried the lobster with noodles. It’s good, but its pricey as lobsters are usually are. It was huge though and it feed 5 of us with leftovers None of the dishes have disappointed me yet and I’ve tried many of them already. During dinner time, it’s very crowded. The restaurant is small. Make sure to come early to take advantage of the late lunch prices or to avoid the long dinner wait!
