My mother, Lola, has gone to Dr Chiu for over 10 years. If you are looking for a doctor who is going to go the extra mile for you, I highly recommend Dr. Chiu. The last time that my mother was at the hospital emergency room… the emergency doctor agreed with me on what a great doctor Dr Chiu is. Dr Chiu was the emerency room’s primary care provider too. Both doctors worked closely together that night to help my mother. Dr Chiu has alway given very good advice — including the times when my mother was having difficult health challenges — and provided great care to my mother over the years consistantly.

My experience with Dr. Chiu was ideally what I would want in a doctor appointment: short wait time, extremely thorough and patient, and will answer all of your questions without making you feel rushed. His amicable personality also helped put me at ease and I didn’t mind his tie either(it had little sheep on it). The only downside is that the facilities are limited and necessitate that you visit external locations for lab tests, if need be. Although, there are several lab locations(even one a building over) and you’re bound to find one convenient to you.

Dr. Chiu was actually very helpful but it all went wrong after i went in for a physical and labwork he requested. I went in February for my physical and labwork that the doctor requested. He mentioned that based on my complaints and history that he should be able to claim certain lab codes so that I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket for the tests. Come April I receive a bill from Quest saying my insurance did not cover the lab tests because the appropriate codes were not submitted. I call the office and speak to one of the front desk ladies and she said this happens to a few patients and she took my name down and said they would take care of it. I receive a second notice oh in July that my bill has not yet been paid off by my insurance. So I call AGAIN to the dr.‘s office to ask if the«codes» have been submitted and cleared. The assistant I spoke with asked if I could bring a copy of my Quest lab invoice, so I drove over there and let them take a copy of it. A few weeks later I call AGAIN! to check up on it, the lady I spoke with said the dr. is on vacation right now and it will be sorted out when he returns in a month and to call back. It’s been a month and i just called AGAIN(what is that the 4th time now WTHH) and then the girl I spoke to this time asked me to bring in my invoice –where i then mentioned that they should already have a copy and she would try to submit the codes and give me a call back. I’m pretty sure they never get to my paperwork unless I call and I honestly hate to be rude because I work in a doctor’s office and know how the insurance billing can be but really this runaround is ridiculous and unnecessary. I’m asking you to just do your job and do it right so I don’t have to call you frustrated and ruin your day and mine. It’s a win win for everyone. I gave an extra star for the doctor because his service was fine but I’m looking into a different primary care physician because I don’t have the time or patience to deal with improperly claimed medical bills for 8 months… any recommendations Unilocalers?
