Regular customer, come here at least once every 2 – 3 wks. Thai style hotpot — I believe this is the most flavorful of all the broths they offer. Its spicy and sour which is what thai style is supposed to be. I usually get beef and vermicelli. I just don’t like rice with hotpot. With lamb they give too little, with pork they give too much. With beef its just the right amount. What makes this place stand out, is the variety of toppings they place in their hotpot unlike boiling point. The highlights for me are the shrimp, meat balls, squid, corn, and quail egg. The tofu are frozen, so they’re not good. I also don’t like the cabbage, but what can we do, hotpot always has cabbage. Plenty of veggies including the white stringy mushroom, yum. Everything goes really well with their special garlic dipping sauce(which is always full and refilled unlike boiling point) I like that you can personalize the level of spiciness for your broth. If you want freaking spicy, you will get freaking spicy! Unlike boiling point which is always sweet for some reason. And they can turn off the flame, if you don’t like eating it boiling and constantly burning your tongue. Best time to come eat is when it opens at 11am. Free black or green tea. I prefer the black tea because its sweet. Plenty of parking and seating which is rare in San Gabriel.

My new fav hot pot spot! I came here cuz the line for BP was too long and I didn’t want to wait. But this place was really good. Their portions were bigger than BP’s too. One thing I wish they had was something similar to Bp’s beef hot pot which I usually get… But I will be back here ~

Want that individual-sized hot pot, but not the crazy crowds of Boiling Point? Jackpot Hotpot is your guy. Well, not your guy, but you get the point. My favorite thing about this place, aside from the significantly less people, is the fact that their pots are always chock-full of meats and veggies. Like filled to the brim, they’re not stingy with their foodstuffs guys. I personally always get the lamb with any hotpot, and I especially like the spicy Taiwanese base, medium level of spice. No need to add extra meat, at least in my opinion. The bowl of rice and the copius amounts of other ingredients in the soup will leave you stuffed. Second favorite soup would be the sour cabbage, lots of veggies, and the sourness is appetizing. You’ve seen this before, but remember to check in for that free boba! The service is friendly, atmosphere is lively, and the speakers actually emit sound, for any single diners or TV watchers. Worth the(nearly nonexistent) wait, and worth the price, which if I’m correct, is only slightly more expensive than Boiling Point.

It was Christmas Day 2015. Significant other was hungry, and his stomach was growling. A quick Unilocal search noted that Jackpot Hotpot was open on Christmas Day 2014, so it is a safe assumption that Jackpot Hotpot would be open on Christmas Day 2015. Between the three of us, we ordered: 1) Singapore(Laksa) Hotpot — Yum. This was my favorite! 2) Taiwanese Hotpot — Significant other ordered this one. Very savory. 3) Tomato and Veggie Hotpot — Significant other’s father ordered this one. Lighter in flavor. I like the hotpot because they are all personal size. Each person can order their own flavors and meats. Woot Woot! P. S. Jackpot Hotpot was noted as one of the best restaurants for hotpot in Los Angeles. P. P. S. When you check in on Unilocal app, you get a free Boba tea. Make sure you order at the beginning of the meal. I forgot and ordered in the middle of my meal and was denied. Our waitress offered ice tea or hot tea at the beginning of the meal, but did not give another option for the free boba tea. It was confusing! ENJOY!

Juicy hot pot and beef rice stone pot This place is really good even though it’s not the norm places you would go for hot pot. I usually really like coming here especially without the line and the free boba check-in. Their hot pots are really good too I think it’s very competitive to boiling point. All the hot pots are pretty good I think and all the flavors blend well. The beef rice stone pot is one of my all time favorite dishes here. It’s so tasty and good and you just keep eating it even tho ur full. It’s great to mix this dish with shabu pot. I’ve had really great experiences with both dishes The price is decent and well priced. The service has been pretty good. I recommend this place, it’s a great restaurant to go without the hassle of the other hot pot restaurants.

I think I found my new favorite hot pot spot! In my opinion, I think this place is better than Boiling Point. The amount of ingredients in each pot is tremendous. I ordered the Taiwanese spicy and LOVED it. Great amount of meat, pig blood, bamboo sticks, intestines and mushrooms. Did I mention there are quail eggs too!!! The soup base is flavorful and spicy, great dipping sauces on the side and a FREE green/black tea on your first check in.

Honestly I was a little disappointed. Unilocal brought me to this place and Unilocalers convinced me to leave my Valley(the San Fernando Valley) and trek all the way here to the SGV. Today was a cold day around 46 degrees F, and it happened to be my younger brother’s birthday. So my mom asked us where we wanted to go eat, and since I always want to explore new food places I jumped on Unilocal and searched for hot pots around the SGV. Naturally Boiling Point would come up, as it is also the first thing that pops up in my mind when I think of Taiwanese hot pot. I use to go to the one in Irvine all the time and I use to wait in really long lines because it truly was that good. But today I did not want to wait. So I found this place and I saw reviews by my fellow Unilocal friends and fellow Unilocalers comparing this place to Boiling Point(BP). What I discern from OTHER people were thus: «this place’s broth is same/similar to BP;» «this place gives more broth/meat/whatever than BP;» and etc. Essentially what I got was that this place was a BP equivalent with the perks of having a free drink upon check in on Unilocal, and also they were cheaper, less wait, and and gave more for your buck. On a Monday evening around 7:30pm the place had a small wait time. I probably waited 10 – 15 minutes for a table to open up, since no one wanted to sit outside or near the door. I checked into the business and got my free drink, and then I ordered for myself the Taiwanese hot pot. I was gravely disappointed. The rich flavors I normally get at BP was much better than this place. I hate to compare but since I was use to the strong, spicy, and flavorful broth of BP I was left wanting more out of this place. What I did enjoy however was the lamb. I enjoyed the lamb flavor that was infused into my broth after having let it sit there boiling. Another thing that bothered me was that the actual tray of the hot pot is not as big as it looks in pictures(even my own pictures). If anything it’s roughly the same size as BP. Pros: 1. Service was fast 2. Free tea with Unilocal check-in 3. More affordable by a few dollars, but great lunch deal. 4. Good amount of meat. Cons: 1. The broth would spill out of the tray very fast, forcing you to eat very fast before it spills or you’d have to transfer your broth into your bowl. 2. The flavor of the broth is lacking, and particularly the Taiwanese hot pot, the asinine level of peppercorn additions to make it «spicy,» merely made my mouth numb. It wasn’t spicy at all. 3. The water taste soooooo bad. I’ve had tap water, but this place needs a new faucet. Yuck. 4. Did not like their sauces compared to BP. Overall this place was simply okay. It didn’t wow me, and it didn’t make me feel bad for dragging my family 30 miles to grab food(we do this often); however, probably not going to do that again. This would be my second-choice among other options of hot pots in the SGV.

Everyone reviewing this place seem to make the comparison to Boiling Pot. I’ve never been. The line/wait is always a deterrent, and we’ve always been fans of doing hot pot at home. Though, we’ve been to Jazz Cat & never went back. So. I went for lunch yesterday with my husband and a coworker. Originally, we were to pig out at Shakey’s but coworker suggested hot pot. A lot of the positive reviews mentioned the laksa hot pot & it sounded really good. I ended up with that and lamb meat(looove lamb hot pot). I love that they pack your pot with veggies & seaweed(especially the seaweed). There was a good amount of meatballs/fishballs and tofu and two shrimp. I ended up eating the whole damn thing, rendering me very much useless the rest of the work day. Lunch(or should I say lunner/linner) is $ 11.50.

This hotpot was phenomenal. I ordered the 臭臭鍋(stinky tofu pot) with no spice and it tasted just as good as it did in Taiwan. For a one-person serving, it has a pretty decent sized portion, and I couldn’t finish off all of it. They also kindly substituted different tempura for the crab stick since I am allergic. With a Unilocal check in, they even provided free boba to satisfy my boba-cravings. All in all, a solid place to get your hotpot dreams fulfilled. Authentic Taiwanese hotpot is hard to come by, but this place has done a great job.

Hello my Unilocalies, First time at this place, parking is very easy since they have a back parking lot which has probably over 15 spaces. So don’t need to worry about where to park. Definitely come early especially the weekends because they do get pretty pack. The place is well decorated, I like how you can see the kitchen from where you are sitting. The restaurant feels very homie and the service is pretty decent. I like it when the waiters and waitresses seem like they like what they do. I order the kimchi hotpot and my boyfriend order the Taiwanese hot pot, the kimchi doesn’t really have much taste, as for the Taiwanese pot definitely have more taste. We both got medium spicy which wasn’t spicy at all so if you like spicy order spicy or very spicy. Their food inside was decent and the portion is pretty big. I’m sure a lot of people will compare this place to boiling point, because they have very similar style of hotpot. I have to say that boiling point have much more taste in their soup base. Overall, 5 stars for service, 4 for food, 4 for décor and 4 for atmosphere.

What a find! My friend and I were craving soup on a cold, winter day. I had to get the Singapore Laksa hot pot because I’ve been looking for a laksa place in LA for a very long time. I finally found one! There have their own parking lot in the back and there was no wait on a Friday night. Very generous portions. I had to take part of my dinner home because it was too much to finish in one setting. The hot pot came with fish, mussels, fish cakes, and veggies. Also, you get a free boba when you check in on Unilocal

Quick tip: There is a parking lot in the back and don’t forget to check in to get free boba. :] I have to admit Jackpot Hot Pot is not located in the most ideal spot for a restaurant. The first time I went, because of the huge road construction going on San Gabriel Blvd, I almost missed it. The construction has been going on for years now and they reduced the lanes to a single lane. It would’ve suck to turn back around. I went there one afternoon with my mom. The servers were friendly and food was prepped quickly. And the best part? No wait! We ordered the Taiwanese Hot Pot and Kimchi Hot Pot. I think the portion is at least 30% more than boiling point. Normally I can finish a whole pot by myself, but here i had some help from my mom. Each pot had more ingredients and was rich in flavor. I wouldn’t mind coming here again!

Please check-in and get your free milk tea. I was expecting milk, milk tea, but it tasted more the milk tea, tea. Hopefully that makes sense. So, I ordered the Thai Style Hot and Sour with Fish.

I am not comparing this to Boiling Point. haha I came here to a Sunday afternoon after church and there were plenty of seats with no wait. There’s construction happening outside on San Gabriel Blvd right now but there’s an entrance to drive in. Environment — There’s lots of space and lots of seating. My party of 8 did not have to wait at all to get seated. While I was there, most of the parties were of 4 or more people. There’s a nice accent wall with wall paper trees which was nice to look like according to my friend haha. I have one complaint about the tables/chairs though… I don’t think I’m that short or tall, normal height I would say. The chairs are way too low compared to the table and I had difficulties eating my hot pot :(I wish the ratio was better… haha Service — The waiters know how to use the word«excuse me, excuse me» here a lot haha so I’d say they’re pretty careful while they’re carrying stuff to their customers… We got attended to whenever we needed assistance. Food — Basically you choose a base soup and then add whatever meat you want. It seems like there are base ingredients in each soup bowl and then the meat is just added on top. One thing I didn’t like is that there are WAYTOOMANY seafood items in the soup. It completely changes the tastes of the soup! I ordered the Laksa but it tasted like seaweed soup instead. yeah. Anyways. it was okay. All of the soups taste okay, nothing spectacular I would say. If you’re really craving hot pot and don’t want to wait for a table, then come here.

Came here yesterday with the bf. And it was good. Comparable to Boiling Point may be even better. There wasn’t a wait what so ever. The staff was quite nice also. We got: Beef Laksa Beef Thai Hot and Sour The beef laksa was mine and it was delicious. The broth was light and creamy. Medium wasn’t so medium to me but it did the job. The portion was good also. I enjoyed it very much. I tried the broth to the Thai one, it was okay. Bf enjoyed it a lot more than I did. We don’t live close by, we’re from San Diego. So I can’t say I would come back here soon. Maybe if I’m in the area. But all in all, it was good.

4 Reasons Why This is Better Than Boiling Point 1) They have Satay BBQ sauce — Look I know I don’t need to educate you on satay because you probably drink it with your milk teas. But seriously, not having satay at a hot pot joint is like watching a Matthew McConaughey movie without seeing his shirt come off… even I’m like… really? Did that just happen? I need closure to this movie, take off your shirt! 2) In and Out — Not like the burger joint we all love, but I mean I went there, parked my car, walked into the restaurant, ordered my food, ate it, and left like any regular human being. No 3 hour long line with a bunch of HANGRY(hungry and angry) people outside staring at their phones. The whole process took like 45 minutes from sit down to leaving. Now that’s speed. Time is money guys. 3) Mom and Pop Service — Because the place isn’t hustling and bustling like Boiling Point, the waitress can actually come by more than once to ask how you’re doing… like legitimately«how are you doing» and really mean it from her heart because they really need your business. The owner was pacing back and forth making sure everyone’s doing fine. I mean, look at the other reviews, Vincent takes time out to follow up on almost everyone’s reviews(good or bad)! Definitely makes you feel welcomed. 4) Free Tea with Check-in — I’m a sucker for free stuff.

My friend and I came here and enjoyed a pot of veggie and lobster hot pot. I really enjoyed the veggie tofu pot. You can add additional toppings to your pot as well. The hot pots are kept nice and hot over the fire at your table. I love hot soup that stays constantly hot all throughout. There’s plenty of parking on the side of the restaurant. Staff are friendly and cordial.

This place could be a solid place hotpot place with their own unique flavors of hotpot if they didn’t try so hard to be like another boiling point. The hotpot itself wasn’t bad, the setup is similar to Boiling Point, the ingredients are pretty good too. The problem I have is mostly the sauces; it seems like they have the exact same sauces as Boiling Point, or tried at least to unsuccessfully replicate them. The sauces are all look very similar to Boiling Point sauces, all three of them but they all taste differently and not as good unfortunately. I actually think even if you were to use Boiling Point’s exact sauces here, it still wouldn’t work that well with the flavors of hotpot here. I got the Taiwanese spicy pot and to me, this point had an authentic Chinese flavor to the pot and would’ve worked well with a satay sauce instead of the fake BP sauces. The hotpot itself wasn’t bad, but the soup lacked depth. It tasted more like it was from a bullion than from shimmering actual meat and vegetables to make a soup. The ingredients were enjoyable enough and the flavors of hotpot were interesting as well. I got Taiwanese spicy and also tried the Singaporean hotpot which was a mild sweet and sour base. I believe that you should always make something uniquely yours and not a bad imitation of someone else, it’ll be better and stands out more :)

If BoilingPoint is crowded, this is one alternative you can eat at, Their menu resembles Boiling point! My Bf and I ordered pretty much what we would get at BP He ordered the Taiwanese spicy broth with beef(you can choose the type of meat: chicken, beef, lamb, pork) I ordered the mild spicy miso broth with beef! The portions did seem a bit smaller~ It comes with either side of rice or vermicelli noodles In my opinion, the taste of the miso was a bit watered. It had a «home-cooking» taste to it, not sure if that’s a good thing or not. Probably not my favorite hotpot joint. But the cool part is if you check in on Unilocal, you get a free boba tea!(green, black, milk tea, or milk green tea)

Price went up to $ 13.99 for dinner. The portion size is still massive. The check in offer for the free drink makes it pretty decent. This place is less packed than boiling point and offers bigger portions. I think the garlic sauce isn’t as good as bp though. I think next time I would try the tomato hot pot because I tasted the soup and it was actually better than the stinky tofu hot pot. Service was pretty good.
