Kai’s Restaurant

One of the great mysteries of our time, as it’s now gone and we’ll never figure it out. I could kick myself because I actually stopped by while it was open, picked up a take out menu with the intention of eating there a few days later. Went back a few days later and the restaurant was not open for business, though not clearly out of business either. For probably the next ten years I’d drive by and find the same thing. The health department grade card actually changed from time to time, but it was never open when I went by, day or night. Once I saw an old guy inside and I tapped on the door. He just shook his head. Even posted a request on Chowhound for additional info but nobody had eaten there.
