I came here on a Tuesday for har gaw and Sui Mai. Four of each for $ 2.20 or 12 for $ 6.95. Restaurant has tons of baked goods, but some of their stuff is expensive compared to other Chinese dim sum bakeries. An egg roll for $ 0.70. The dim sum I bought was fine. On the cold side even though she took them out of these big steam metal pots. Cash only and no place to sit and eat. Simple.

I visited at 2pm on Saturday. It was empty and I could park up front. In short I will not be back. Cream bun — the cream had gone bad Coconut bun — tasted stale Steamed lotus seed bun — filling was not too sweet but the bun was very hard and dry Fried sesame ball — this was the only one that ok

Not horrible and I don’t really care about service. What matters to me, is the quality of the product. I order about 7 different ones and they all were very dry, hard and lacking. The hotdog roll only has a quarter dog unlike other places. The custard filling is super tiny… almost to the point that I can’t find it. Overall totally average and honestly not goo enough for me.

I would come here to get some morning breakfast when I’m running late to work. I’ve only been here about 5 times to date, and I find it horrible to have to deal with, especially the two who I believe are the owners of the establishment. They don’t greet you pleasantly. No social skills what-so-ever!!! When you ask them for extra condiments, they glare at you. I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime. Their food is ok, sometimes it’s not even warm(luckily for the microwave at work). The prices are a little high and the assortments offered are limited.

The customer service is still terrible. The lady keeps pushing old product on me. I know better. The chicken pie has gotten worse. There’s only a tiny teaspoon of meat in the pie. The pork sung roll only has pork sung on the sides if the bread, but the inside was mostly bread. The smell of the bread tastes like it’s been sitting on the shelf for a week. The shrimp roll tastes overly greasy, and the daikon cake tastes like rice flour and lard. This place is getting worse. I can’t wait until it goes out of business.

Family has been ordering cakes here for many years(20+ years). Always greeted with a smile. Cakes are delicious. I always get me some rice rolls before I leave. Always fresh.

I like how they’re opened so early in the morning and have food ready to go. Sometimes I’ll stop by here in the morning before heading to work to pick up some breakfast or lunch. On the side they have a variety of baked breads including pineapple bread and hotdog bread already packaged and ready to go. I usually like to go for the hot stuff in the mornings. My usual order would consist of a big chicken bun, BBQ pork rice rolls with soy sauce, shrimp dumplings, shu mai, etc. They also have bbq pork pastries, chicken pastries, egg rolls, ham soy gok(fried glutinous ball with meat inside), chicken sticky rice in banana leaf, BBQ pork steam and baked buns, sesame balls, etc. Everything is hot and ready so I can eat it on the way or when I get to work. My favorite would have to be the BBQ pork rice paper rolls with soy sauce because it’s fresh and the soy sauce they make(its not the cheap packages) has good flavor. I also like the chicken bun they have here. It is good in size and is pretty tasty; the only this is, the egg white from the boiled egg that’s in this bun sometimes has a rubbery texture. They are at a pretty convenient location but may be hard to find parking during busier hours.

I love the dim sum and egg tart here. There egg tarts are extremely big and delicious. The Sui Mai and Ha Gow are delicious and inexpensive. The rice cake is delicious, which I save it for my dessert. The staff are really friendly. In order to use your credit card, you have to spend $ 15 minimum. I haven’t had any issues with them. I recall one time I didn’t have any cash since there credit card machine wasn’t working and they were really nice to let me pay with a check since I had no cash in hand.

Delish! The chicken rolls, coconut tarts, pork dumplings, sesame balls and steamed pork buns were amazing. Consistency is extremely important in the food business and this place hits the mark in that department. As a kid we frequented the Alhambra location and I have not been back –not knowing they rebuilt. I was sure the food would not be the same but it was and I am extremely pleased. I will be back!

It’s not easy to find a dim sum/bakery opened this early at 6:30AM. That already deserves a star. The cashiers were friendly, another star. As for the food, it was mediocre. Steamed Shrimp Dumpling(蝦餃) — Shrimp was overcooked and too peppery. The wrap wasn’t sturdy enough and some broke. Steamed Pork Dumpling(燒賣) — Very meaty. Nothing to rave or bash about. Big Chicken Bun(大雞包) — I was mislead. It’s medium size. The bread was too sweet and the filling wasn’t moist enough. CBS Seafood in Chinatown makes wholesome 大雞包 and lives up to the name. Darn, I still have to make that drive. Pork Steamed Rice Roll(豬腸粉) — Was this supposed to be eaten cold? Would’ve been nice warmed. Vegetable Spring Rolls(春捲) — Crispy. Should be a variety of vegetables(not just cabbage, carrots and onions). Maybe they can consider adding mushrooms to enhanced the taste and texture. 3 for $ 1.00 you can’t complain but I wouldn’t mind paying more if it was done right. Although I am not a big fan my coworkers liked three out of the five so it’s good enough to share with the rest of the office.

Make sure to bring cash! Credit card use only with at least $ 15 !! All of their dim sum is steamed in the big circular steal steamers(like old fashion dim sum) — however, more on the expensive side compared to dim sum restaurants –steamed pork dumpling $ 1.95(4) –more on the drier side –steamed shrimp dumpling $ 1.95(4) –delicious –glutenous rice with char siu $ 3(1pc) –more expensive than dim sum restaurants but it is ONELARGE piece with small, sliced chinese sausage pieces and minced pork(i prefer the small ones at the dim sum restaurants more than the ones from here) BBQ pork rice roll(85cents each) — SOGOOD. it’s my FAVORITE thing to get here :) the best thing to do is to also mix sirarcha with their sweet soy sauce and drench the thing in and eat it! yummy. The pork bits are crispy and rolled in nicely so it’s like bacon bits! Turnip cake(70cents each) –good, hot and a slight crisp on the outside and corners :) Baked chicken roll($ 1.35 each) Egg roll($ 1 for 3) BBQ Pork($ 1.25 each) Pros: –DELICIOUSBBQ pork rice roll(85cents each) –pretty good delicious food for cheap prices –fast service Cons: –pretty small bakery with a lot of vacant slots where the food is. it makes it look like an empty bakery so not a good first impression, but over time, you learn to love the few good foods they have that aren’t found at other places(BBQ pork rice roll) –siu mai dim sum is a bit on the drier side and more expensive than if you just went to the dim sum restaurants! –CASHONLY unless you order more than $ 15 to use credit card –service is just OKAY Tip: Come early in the morning before their yummy taiwanese breakfast stuff runs out!

I originally went here for steamed chashu bao. Having written that, I’m not going to recommend them. I will recommend the baked chashu bao and the egg custards tarts. The custard tarts are some of the best I’ve had in awhile. Eggy(the way I like them) and a great buttery, flaky crust. The baked bao are full sized like a handful. Also, the way I like them.(ha) The almond rice cake as pictured by other reviewers is remarkable. Perfect texture and rich almond flavor. This dessert took me straight back to childhood in a good way. I know some have commented on the service but I found the woman who helped me to be lovely. I mentioned a dessert I’d eaten in my childhood, more than 30 years ago and she smiled and said it was a holiday treat. She said I should come back around New Year’s(didn’t ask Chinese or U.S.) when they would make some special versions of this sticky, sweet Nin-Go dessert(her words not mine :-)) dessert. Bummed that the steamed bao weren’t that great. Kind of dry and bready. Needed more gravy BUT there are other things to come back for and some to try again.

This is seriously my favorite Asian bakery in the San Gabriel Valley! When it was located in Alhambra(ten years ago!), my aunt would always take my cousin and me here for breakfast goodies before Chinese school. I was sad when it burned down, but I’m super happy they opened up in their new location! My go-to items are the shu mai, bbq pork buns(steamed AND baked), egg tarts, and both kinds of the puff pastries. I haven’t had their plain steamed buns lately, but they were my favorite back in the day: P Affordable and tasty. I love this place!

Egg custard tart: the crust is nice and flaky. The custard itself is a little bit too milky Sponge rice cake: tastes like the bread in cha siu bao Rice cake: tastes sweeter and more dense then the sponge version Almond cake: tastes like almond jelly. Just enough sweetness Service here is good. Not sure why other people had so many problems with the service here. The people were friendly and helpful.

I came in to try their steamed BBQ pork bun and it was really unhealthy tasting. The bun tasted like it had absorbed every unappetizing flavor from the shop. I also tried their dessert rice cake which was nicely sweetened and quite delicious.

Super nice service and assortment of baked goods. I was told that the egg tarts $ 1.20 compared to Golden Gate Bakery in SF. Not true, but not bad for SGV standards.

Just went to Happy Bakery! I really enjoy eating the BBQ Pork Buns from here. They’re big and have a lot of meat inside it. The only reason why I’m giving this place 4 stars is because of the customer service. I wish the lady at the front would smile more. She doesn’t smile at all. :P

I come here regularly with my mom. They have a good variety of breads and baked goods, although not as expansive as JJ Bakery or other big Chinese bakeries. It seems some if the reviewers complained about the staffs«not so happy» attitudes, but I’ve never had an issue. I believe it’s family run and I see the daughter in all the time. The man behind the counter is always very nice and greets us when we come in. What I really love is that they speak great English here… So I can ask questions without feeling awkward. They have good turnip cake, BBQ pork buns and bread. I didn’t care too much for the egg tart since it was a little too thick for me. Parking can be a pain since there isn’t a lot of street parking on this busy road. However, I do just end up parking at Van’s bakery since they do have a big lot on the side and behind their business.
