This review is for the cake I bought last Mother’s Day 5.10.15. I got black forest cake with fresh fruits on top and some sprinkles on the side. I was expecting it was good cake but when I sliced it the cake is too spongy and so dry, frosting is like cool whip, nothing special and they filled the cake with CANNED FRUIT COCKTAIL! Its so horrible that instead of making my Mom happy she got disappointed with the cake. I will never waste my $ 23 for a cake like this. Will never come again. Customer service is good, those 2 ladies are accomodating.

I’ve only ever had their breads, so I’m putting the 5 stars for this. Their breads are pretty amazing. They’re very soft, well portioned, and fresh! There is a nice variety to choose from, which is especially important for me since I generally prefer the bread with fillings in the middle. Some of the filled ones look like they’ll be plain on the inside, but then BAM, I’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that is not the case when I’m eating it.

This review is for the sliced cakes only. I got the strawberry cake for $ 2.75 and the black forest cake, also $ 2.75. They were both hard and old. I would only go for the breads.

This place used to have a BBQ baked bun that was the benchmark for all other baked buns ANYWHERE, but alas, they are no longer the BEST. What happened, I don’t know. The BBQ filling was sparse and didn’t even tasted like char shui (Chinese BBQ pork). VERY DISAPPOINTING that they’ve decided to compromise on quality/​integrity for the sake of profits. However, they still have good custard buns. I don’t think I will waste the time, drive and effort anymore. :(.

The lady at the register was really friendly and made sure I knew to eat my egg pudding while it’s fresh and warm. I love their sponge cup cakes. Super fluffy, moist enough with the right amount of sweetness. I like buying their cake end pieces for cheaper since they’re the same sponge cake. I just tried their egg milk pudding and it’s delicious. I also picked up mini ham and cheese buns. I’m glad I found this awesome cantonese style bakery!

Moms bakery deserves a 5.5 for their awesome customer service and delicious ham and cheese buns, walked in here yesterday by mistake but I’m so glad I gave them a try Jen was so sweet and helpful I will definitely come back.

Good selection of pastry which includes many authentic Cantonese items. Everything is made freshly in small batches. Opens early at 7 am and closes late at 9 pm. Very convenient location with ample parking. New owner is very friendly.

A walkable spot from my Mom’s spot and if you want to eat a pastry that’s oh so yummy, definitely pick up one of their blueberry cheesecake buns. Yes, you read that right!
Definitely tastes like a blueberry cheesecake. Mmmm…
