Finally a Asian snack shop that isn’t pushy and puts more than you asked for. Lately the fiancé and I have been into beef jerky chips after trying a sample that my mom bought us. Unfortunately, her go to place is in the OC and no other branches existed in SGV. Unilocaled and found this gem! The lady was super nice and not stingy with samples. We asked for half a pound of our beef jerky chips and got exactly that. Other similar stores puts more without your permission — annoying! Best part, she even gave us a bunch of little sample packages for the road.

A good place to get beef and pork jerky. We got the regular beef jerky, the curry beef jerky, the(sweet) pork jerky and the(really) spicy beef jerky as well as dried mango and dried squid, and they all got positive ratings from friends and family. The prices are reasonable and they offer a «buy 5 lbs, get 1 lb free» deal.

Do yourself a favor and shop here instead of Vua Kho Bo. The lady here is SO nice and friendly. Not pushy at all like the other place. She was really patient, let us sample whatever we wanted. Also when I finally made my purchases she hooked me up with tons of little sample sized snacks and other things to try. The quality of the jerky here is just as good if not better than Vua Kho Bo, and I think it’s a little less expensive too(depending on the variety). Give her your business!

She was super helpful! She gave me lots of samples at the end and a free drink. I ended up buying 5 lbs of jerky(and got a pound free) and a pound of guava to bring home to my parents. Bring cash! My card got declined(???) so I had to run to an ATM and then come back.

I love this place. Been here twice now because not only does she have mushroom chips, she has two kinds. She’s also helpful and gives little extras. Right now she has a sign that offers: buy 3 lbs, get ½ lb free, buy 5 lbs, get 1 lb free. I compare them to the long standing Vua Kho Bo next door at the San Gabriel Superstore. They’re pushy, aggressive and witches. I say that because we stopped there first today. I’ve never liked them in the past, but today took the cake. My mother and I spoke to them in Cantonese to say that we were waiting for people. My relatives from out of town always come by to get jerky or dried foods. The woman working there thought we didn’t understand Vietnamese and started talking about us to her co-worker. Also when we talked to her about mislabeled food, she treated us like we has no idea what we were taking about. My mother speaks 4.5 languages, reads 3 different languages. Her proficiency in words is competent to say the least. We left and when my family members arrived, we stopped them from entering the Superstore and walked across the parking lot to gave away our custom to KKB. We spent around $ 70 in dried foods. Extremely pleased with the selection, quality and service. Also, the woman who runs the shop has a nice setup for herself. Her soaps playing on a tablet while she knits during the quiet times. Visit her! She deserves your patronage! Also, the first time I went in, I asked for $ 20 worth of the mushrooms and she went a little over. When she saw that, she prepared to put some back. I told her it was fine with me. At VKB, they always over pack as they did with a visiting friend of mine a few weeks ago. Luckily he wasn’t afraid to ask them to remove the excess. They count on you not wanting to make a fuss. Based on this, I can comfortably say King Kho Bo will be my new go to and recommended to all my friends.

Like other Unilocalers said the lady is super nice and I got samples to go. She was very friendly and helpful. I got the pork jerky which is sweet and delicious. One of the best pork jerky I’ve had so far. They only carry one kind of pork jerky the rest of the jerky is beef. Anyway, still amazing pork jerky.

The place is clean and the store guy is super nice and not pushy at all. Really friendly atmosphere. He has specials of buy 3lbs get ½ lb free or buy 5lbs and get 1 lb free deal. His products(ones that we’ve tried) are fresh and good quality. He has vacuum custom packaging service as well for storing or send overseas tourists. Of all the similar stores I’ve been to, this one is the greatest, non-pushy and generous in letting you sample his products. He also offers free shipping for $ 50 and above orders(special promotion deals doesn’t apply tho).

You’ve got your usual cured, salted, and dried fish/squids, fruit, meats, and some candies. LOVE their organic dried blueberries! Less expensive than Whole Foods/Erewhon.

Wow didnt even know this place was here! I usually go to superstore or a few other stores nearby. I came here to get beef jerky for family in Texas. The owner was really nice about sampling and packaging the jerky I bought.(since I needed all ½ lb bags vacuum sealed) I didn’t get the guava candy like the other reviewer, but next time I go I need to get some. They sound yummy. Very clean store too.

Their delicious guava candies make this place ultra KINGKHOBO, which is a great thing.

This place is the BEST! ;D The people who work there are soo NICE! Like super nice, which a lot of store lacks. Not only is there great service there, like the food prices are pretty good. If you buy 3 pounds of plum you get half pound free, and if you get 5 pounds you get 1 pound free! That’s a pretty good deal around here, I seriously recommend this place :) you won’t regret it!

We walked into this place because it was next to where we get our water bottles refilled. It’s been open for only a few months and our first time there was VERY enjoyable. The owners were SUPER nice. We went in just to see what they had and were given NUMEROUS samples of almost everything(jerky, pickled mango, plums, etc). We ended up buying ½ lb of curry beef jerky(my favorite!) and ½ lb of spicy squid.(Both were $ 22/lb) As we left, they gave us samples of hot green peas(not the wasabi ones, Thank God) and guava candy in our bag(~ 15 candies and 5 peas) to try. They also gave us Free cups of this really tasty tea(she said that it was sweetened with honey). The tea was cold and very refreshing on the hot day. Her husband even offered us refills! when we left the store and got to the car, we ate one of the guava candies and ended up loving it so much we went back into the store to buy some! hahahaha.(Guava candy was $ 5/lb) we are DEFINITELY coming back for more. I’m sitting here eating the hot green peas and I want some more already!
