Horrible experience… had to wait to order after being seated for 20 minutes, the ice water didn’t arrive until almost after the meal. The crappy service just killed my appetite.

Allo Madame Liang. Merci for welcoming me to your Chinese kitchen. The restaurant is simple. The menu is diverse. The flavor is fine. My stomach is full. Very nice to meet you. Enchanté! Why French? Well, it’s French Friday and«Renshi ni hen gaoxing» just doesn’t sound as fun. Anyhoo… on with the review… So, Liang’s Kitchen isn’t fancy and that is totally fine because it is reasonably clean. Service is Chinese. 100% Taiwanese/Chinese. Cool since that’s why you came, right? Parking in the underground garage is easy, too. Stuffed Peppers. Love them anytime/anywhere … in a house, with a mouse, in a box, with a fox, here, there, everywhere … yep, I got a thing for stuffed peppers and Liang’s Kitchen sells Jalapenos stuffed with a blend of Pork and Beef. It’s a spicy & meaty blend of flavors. Wonton Soup was one soup that was the opposite of the peppers. It lacked flavor except«salt» and the wontons fell apart. I speak for the tastebuds because the tastebuds have no tongue. They are the tongue. Wonton soup was wonton oops. Mrs. Liang’s picture shines proudly over her kitchen and when you want classic Taiwanese/Chinese style dishes without a lot of fuss and hoopla, stop in to meet Madame Liang for a quick meal.

The menu without prices and the order sheet with different numbers that don’t correspond to the menu item??? What? Hmmm…was a little suspicious at first but once you see all the U.S. airforce memorabilia in the restaurant… you gotta believe that this is just the way they put things together and it was not intentional to deceive guests… The good things… the«A» in the window… the funky U.S. Airforce memorabilia and model planes in the dining room… the friendly service… fast service… good menu variety… the TV… The so-so things… the food… wonton noodle soup was good but seemed layered with msg… don’t order the«lemonade» as it is lemon flavored Gatorade… yes gatorade. I think powdered… the beef pancake roll was stuffed with so much beef and thick pancake that it made it difficult to eat and a little unappetizing as the beef in the center was cold as it didn’t heat all the way thru because the thickness of the cuts… didn’t even want to finish it… With so many good noodle, dumpling and Taiwanese and shanghai type noodle places around(especially just a few doors down)…I wish I could salute Aunty Liang but this location bombed…

It takes a lot for me to say this, but their xiang chang fan is good. It’s a «ma la» version of it, which might not be for everyone, the sausage is thinly sliced and generally I’d say it’s not as «hearty» as Old Country’s(still my favorite), but it’s good. The lu dan is warm(and you get a whole one), and there’s a little stash of chopped up chilies on the side if you wanna spice it up even more. We got the spicy wonton appetizer, which were small, potent and delicious. Unfortunately, the cold tofu appetizer was pretty underwhelming. What I also like about this place is the ample underground parking. It’s slow going as you snake your way through the tiny lot, but it’s better than some of the other shopping centers in the area. Finally, I love the interior. It’s clean, which is appreciated, and decked out in honor of war veterans, with planes flying overhead and black and white photos on the walls. Talk about patriotism.

This place is super cheap and nommy. I got the pork rice thing, which was dripping delicious fatty pig juices all over the rice. Sounds delicious right? It was only a couple bucks so it was well worth it. Just come here and grab some quick Taiwanese food. Came pretty late so didn’t see a crowd so that might have attributed to the service.

I used to come here often since the other restaurants around this plaza are usually busy and this one seems to be the least busy. I’ve never really had an issue until last week, when i ordered a fried chicken with rice and sides combo and discovered an ugly critter on the chicken. That is SOOOO disgusting. The staff, who are usually snarky but in a funny way, became 100x nicer and offered me another plate of food. I really didn’t want anything but I just accepted anyway. So I got the chicken plate with«3 flavors» lol… funny name for it but it’s literally what it is. You get plain, boiled, boneless chicken with three different sauces. Plus you get flavored rice and a tiny amount of fried onions as a garnish. It was nothing to come running back for anyhow. Also, our beef rolls were quite dry this time. The beef noodle soup was the only good thing that night. We are never coming back here again. Still very disgusted.

Food was okay. But it can be a bit confusing if you aren’t Chinese. I’m not, and I had a hard time getting menu items explained. Eventually I just kept smiling and ordering random shit. It was okay. There were these little pancake-roll-things that were delicious, but the rest was just average. There are little toy airplanes everywhere for decorations, which was weird but cool. Maybe like half a star for that. Also the lady kept smiling at me really awkwardly. I think she’s the lady in the logo. But maybe I’m just being racist because all of us Asians look the same. Eventually she confessed her love for my dimples(not to me, since I wouldn’t understand, but to the Chinese people who were with me). I briefly pondered my future with her, frolicking through fields of grain, laughing at our inability to effectively communicate about things that matter, our confused children asking why mom’s so old and dad’s such a little boy, her making me wonderful noodle dishes that I can’t pronounce every night, adding my face to the logo at the restaurant… you know, the usual thoughts that cross your mind when an old lady gets all touchy-feely with you. Then I thought the better of it and just said thanks and smiled all cutely.

This place has not gotten better. The worst pancake wrapped beef ever. The pancake was probably twice the thickness compared to other places. Noodles aren’t bad. Lotus wrapped pork ribs weren’t good either. It had a grainy texture for some reason. One of the male servers was careless. He spilled sauce from the Sesame peanut noodle all over the table and didn’t even bother to clean it up.

Service sucks! we walked in and the waiter was very unfriendly. instead of seating us, he asked us to sit at a table since we have a stroller. We then decided to order to go since baby started to be inpatient. We paid at the cashier and the waiter kept his poker face and didn’t bother to say thank you. Very disappointed.

Beef noodle soup with handmade noodle. THEBOMB. I can eat this every day, all day. Thick, chewy hand pulled noodles in a brown broth with chunks of tender beef. I usually get some pancakes with my noodles. I like this location in particular because they are not too busy and there is plenty of underground parking. Did I mention it’s cheap? And Delicious… and you don’t have to know how to speak Chinese since I order in English all the time(pointing works too). WENEEDONEINDOWNTOWN!!!

Honestly, I rarely give chinese restaurants more than 3 stars, since I eat so much of it already on a regular basis, but Liang’s kitchen deserves a 4, or more like a 4 ½. Appetizer: Cold Cucumbers: Although one of the most simple side dishes you can order/make, the coldness and taste was spot on that I could not stop eating it. And as a bonus, its healthy! Stewed Tofu: The tofu was so soft, and complemented perfectly with the soy sauce and hot sauce drizzled on top. Also another simple dish, but it was just so good. Main Dish: Sesame Cold Noodle: WOW! I have actually never finished a big plate of noodles in my life, but this was the first! Every bite of it was just so amazing and delicious, words can’t even describe it. And I am not saying it tastes better than more upscale or high-end food, but it’s delicious for what it is, and the bucks you are paying for it. At a HUGE plate that can be shared between two, the price tag is only $ 5.00. How is that even possible? Beef Noodle Soup: Although the soup base wasn’t top notch, I absolutely loved the noodles. Instead of the regular yellow thin noodles, you are served with white big/thick home-made special cut noodles that is incomparable to noodles elsewhere. The texture was so perfect I felt like I was in heaven. For a party of 5, at 5 courses, and 3 appetizers, our bill came out to be $ 35.00. Seriously, TOOGOODTOBETRUE.

On a brisk fall night, I had the biggest craving for Taiwanese beef noodle soup. My friend recalled coming to this restaurant and not liking it. He decided we’d be better off at Ajisen for Japanese ramen a few shops down. However, little did he know that I planted obnoxious scene kids there so we’d choose to come to Liang’s kitchen instead! …not really. But we were able to eat at Liang’s Kitchen so I’m a happy cat ^_^ We both ordered the beef and beef tendon noodle soup and asked for large noodles as a result of reading several Unilocal reviews. However, I think we would have been just fine with the smaller noodles — they were ginormous! In fact, the portions are very generous but I feel like it’s missing a certain element of flavor that I can’t put my finger on. In the end, price was okay — a bit more than I’m used to paying for my Taiwanese beef noodle soups. Service was okay I would recommend Liang’s Kitchen for a quick place to get your Taiwanese beef noodle soup craving fixed, but not satisfied. Save that for other places!

Man, this chain is popping up everywhere in both southern and northern California. //LOCATION //Next door to the Hilton Hotel and in the same plaza as Papa walk. //PARKING //The parking lot kind of blows and you will most likely have to go down the center ramp into the below ground parking. //FOOD // + Beef and Beef Tendon Noodle Soup: The noodles were chewy and the beef was deliciously tender. The tendon was a disappointment though. I like jello-y soft melt in your mouth tendon, not huge nodular and dense tendon like I got here. +Beef wrap: Yummy, albeit slightly dry slices of beef wrapped in soft and chewy green onion pancakes. I would get this again here. +Pickled cucumbers: minus one star for charging for pickled veggies when most Taiwanese joints will leave a jar on the table or bring it out readily for you. Sure, its only a $ 0.50 charge, but its the principle of the matter!

Liang’s Kitchen = JIABONG(great in Taiwanese)! Liang’s Kitchen is like a good replacement when you’re craving Taiwanese food, especially if you’ve lived there for a couple of summers. This place is almost as authentic as you can get… this is why: –Hot Oil Wontons: authentic like how they used to make it in the Jian Cun. The wontons are drenched in their delicious sauce… it’s spicy and savory! When my mom eats this, she says it reminds me of her childhood! –A Cai: boiled just right, love the minced meat on top… packed with flavor! –Green onion pancake w/beef: I like how it’s not oily at all and the amount of beef is just right. Also helps that they don’t add a lot of the sweet sauce. One thing that I would complain about is their Beef Noodle Soup. I had it with the thick noodles and the consistency wasn’t great. It was a bit mushy and it was all congealed together. Their service is great… the lady who works here is helpful!

Maybe b/c I’ve never had spicy food in LA? But here, the spicy cold dishes are so nice! The chili sauce they use are just the right thing!!! I love it soooooooooo much. You cannot compare it with the one in China fosho. But it is good enough for here. There are stuff that are not that authentic, like the Dandan noodle. But the oxtail – out of the world delicious!!! Highly recommend! The bitter melon cold dish is also tasty. Not bitter, but sweet~ It is cheap as well.

The noodles at Liang’s kitchen are really good. I think they are hand made. I ordered the cold noodles with chicken. These reminded me of Japanese«hiyashi chuuka». The sauce has a peanut flavor to it. It was very refreshing and it was only $ 5(maybe it was a little more if you added chicken?) My friends ordered the beef tendon and the tomato and pork noodles. I think the tomato and pork noodles were hands down my favorite out of the 3 noodle dishes that we ordered. I am a little partial to it because it kind of reminded me of pasta(my favorite food!). The noodles are chewy and well made. We also ordered the beef wrap. Ohmygod. This was REALLY good! I definitely recommend ordering this as an appetizer. It’s semi-crispy on the outside and a little softer on the inside. The beef is really tender. I love this thing! The service here is really good. Some of them don’t speak very good English though. The parking structure has a decent amount of parking spaces, but it’s really crowded. Good luck trying to find parking! They have a minimum credit card charge of 20 $. So don’t forget to bring cash!

Satiates my Taiwanese food cravings! Love the dan-dan noodles. Other good stuff: family style noodles(cold noodles), and small plates/sides. All of the noodle offerings seem promising.
