These are simply the best dumplings around. The pork pan fried dumplings, the soup dumplings and the pork and celery dumplings are fantastic. Also, the bok choi is always perfectly cooked and delicious. They make their own hot sauce which, when mixed with the vinegar, is perfect for dipping everything in. The service is always very prompt and friendly. My only recommendation is that you get there early to make sure there are enough dumplings left to eat.

If I could give 4.5 stars I would. The dumplings here live up to their reputation. I tried the shrimp, chive, egg and pork ones and they were perfectly divine. Yummmzzzzz. The dumplings came with a bowl of beef brisket noodle soup. The beef was so tender and the presentation was lovely(see pic). I loved how the beef was placed so carefully on top of the soup. You can tell they put a lot of love and pride into the dishes here. The dish itself was good, but the flavor was a bit too mild for my taste. I felt like it needed a bit more punch. The place was super clean and the service was amazing. The server was so attentive; she immediately noticed if you were running low on tea and she was right there asking if you wanted a refill. I loved the vibe of the place. Even though the space is small, it’s simple, clean, and friendly. The dumplings here are truly the star of the show. No wonder why you see a line of patrons waiting for a seat whenever you pass by. Cash only and there is a restroom on site.

pork & cabbage dumplings with the house noodles with beef an order of the bok choy with oyster sauce everything was fine — nothing bad, but definitely not fantastic and not worth going out of your way to eat the upsides were the fast, friendly service and how cheap it was

A nice«hidden» gem within the streets of SGV. Luscious Dumplings is a nice little restaurant located at the intersection of Mission and Las Tunas. They have been serving some of the best dumplings for a decent amount of time. Their dumpling and noodle soup combo($ 8.50) is certainly worth every penny. You will get to choose one of the regular portion noodles on their menu and your choice of pork/bok choy dumpling(5 pieces), pork/leek dumplings(5 pieces), or pan-fried leek dumplings. This time I ordered their combo of Salty Pork Noodle and pork/cabbage dumplings. Their qualities are still consistent as usual. The soup base of the Salty Pork Noodle is light and umami. Thin stripes of Chinese noodles are wonderfully flavored with this delectable soup base, with slices of salty pork belly slices decorated on top. The noodle also comes with two strands of crispy bok choy, which complements well with the soup base. As for the dumplings, the outer layers are chewy and springy. It’s fillings are juicy and lightly marinated, so customers can have the freedom to add whatever additional flavors(namely vinegar and soy sauce) they want. Hence, with their lovely service and consistent food, Luscious dumplings still deserve a wonderful 5 stars out of 5 on my yummy foods list. For some dumpling fans out there, this place is a must try.

This is the greatest dumpling restaurant in all of L.A. – completely in a class all it’s own. Oh Ding Tai Fung may be classier – ’cause this place is a «hole-in-the-wall,» but Ding Tai Fung’s food is at least 10 levels below on the flavor and heartiness scale. Arrive early if you want a seat and before they are sold out of certain items. Love everything here, but would highly recommend the pocket, pork fried, and soup dumplings. Not to worry though, everything they do is first rate!

DONOTORDERGROUPTAKEOUTON A FRIDAY, called in for company take out at 11am(which is when they just open), the guy complained that I ordered too much(it was only 10 dishes) and it will take about an hour to finish making, I said ok since lunch start at 12 anyways. Apparently I missed a call from that guy calling me back, don’t know what he want so I called back, no body picked up, I called back again about 30 times and still no one picked up. By the time, our coworker went to pick up our food, the same guy said to him they haven’t started making the food, our coworker asked why, the guy said cuz nobody called him back, our coworker said we did about 30 times, the guy said we are busy, we can’t pick up the phone… What is wrong with him… Go to the Monrovia location, people there are much much nicer!!!

I Love Luscious dumplings, I haven’t had good dumplings since my summer in China. I found luscious dumplings through a friend, and I have been coming here for years. I recently took my co-worker from main land Beijing, which I wanted to get his opinion since he’s always talking about ‘traditional Chinese’(in his Chinese accent) food. Anyways I took him to Luscious, and oh my god I can’t get to shut up about how good it is here. It’s worth the wait, and get there when they open or reopen as they sometimes run out of the most popular soups and or dumplings. I will continue go here for many more years. I recommend it to everyone!

This place does not disappoint. It is consistent… and service is always great! There is normally a wait if you come by lunch time(11:30 am to 1 pm), but the tables turn pretty quick. I’m a big fan of this place… and hope it stays FOREVER!

Came here with a close friend for some dumplings. It is a very cute small restaurant that is clearly a mom and pop shop. The service was very personal and quick. When the dumplings arrived I was really happy with them. Was surprised when they rivaled din tai fun. Totally worth it and would come again and again!

I hope this place stays forever. Very clean tables, waiters are always smiling. Good noodle soup portions. Tendon always my choice. Noodles are a bit bland but everything else makes up for it. The waiters ALWAYS refill your drinks. I drink a lot so this is really nice to have. The dumplings are good too, but I am more of a fan of the noodles. If the owners read this, THANKYOU for such a great place to eat!

Never understood the true meaning of Asian comfort food until I came here! Small place… seems like a total mom and pop shop so you know that the food here is legit! Must get the combo which includes noodles and dumplings! I think it was about $ 8-$ 9 dollars. Stew Angus Beef Noodles: — Noodles: cooked perfectly and tastes homemade — Beef: so tender… — Soup: delicious and was not greasy or overly salty. Dumplings: Simple and tasty. Ingredients tasted fresh and the dumpling skin was perfectly made not too thin or thick. FYI: If you are into condiments like me, you must try the sauce they have on the side! Definitely adds a punch to anything you are eating! Final Verdict: Thumbs up

The food was so good! It is a small place and when we got there the it was full. I think it only fits about 20 people or so. And they only take cash, which is irritating and the reason for 4 stars. But the food! Oh my goodness was so flavorful and delicious. Free hot tea comes with the meal and service was quick was we sat down. The dumplings were absolutely amazing! Mostly pork and beef dishes. The shrimp, pork, cabbage dumpling was so yummy. We also had brisket noodle soup, and pork soup dumplings. Next time I am sticking with dumplings.

Been coming here for 11+ years. Luscious dumplings is still run by the same sweet Hong Kong family, with the Dad cooking in the kitchen and son serving in the front. Prices have gone up slightly over the years but the quality and service remains outstanding. Our favorites include the mushroom meat sauce noodles, pork and pickles soup noodles, fried pork dumplings, and pork, shrimp, glass noodle, chive fried dumplings. They offer a noodle dumpling combo or items can be ordered as individual menu items. In all the years we’ve been coming here, everything we’ve ordered is delicious, fresh, and served piping hot. This is a small, hole-in-the-wall, mom & pop place that I love to frequent because the food is warm, comforting, and consistently delicious. Service is super friendly and I like that they remember us and our preferences. If we lived closer, I’d eat here at least once a week.

Wanted noodle soup really badly one day and saw reviews for this little mom and pop place. Many reviews talked about the combo deal, which allowed a customer to taste both their dumplings and their noodle soup at a bargain price of $ 8. Naturally, this is what I ordered. My combo was the cabbage/pork dumpling x5(as the chives were out by 6pm) and the noodle soup with beef. The dumplings were awesome. They appeared to be freshly made, and they tasted wonderful with a dash of hot sauce. The noodles were good but I have had better noodle soup elsewhere. The beef was tender but the overall bowl of soup could have been made at home with the right quality noodles.

Food: $ 7.50 for Bowl of noodle soup and dumplings?! That’s so cheap and awesome! The dumplings are so juicy and the noodle soup is really good as well. Service: This is probably the best service I received at a Chinese restaurant. They actually checked on us to see how we’re doing and gave us refills without even having to ask.

I came around 12:30pm on a Saturday and waited about 20 minutes to be seated(it’s a small place). By the time we were seated, I heard the waiter tell the customers behind us that started running out of dumplings but thankfully they had everything by the time we ordered. So come earlier if you don’t want to be limited with the selection of dumplings available!(But pay attention to the times the restaurant is open because it closes between lunch and dinner). Service was phenomenal! The waiters were always coming by and filling up our cups of water and tea to its brim. We ordered the chives, pork, egg and shrimp dumplings and the fried pork dumplings which I thought were both delightful. I didn’t order the pork dumplings with soup because I didn’t think it would be comparable to Din Tai Fung. The dumplings come with 10 per order so I recommend getting 3 orders for 2 people or at least something else on the side. To top off the dumplings, we also got the stewed beef brisket noodle soup to share. This was delicious, very flavorful! I’ll be coming back again but I’ll probably save all the room in my stomach for only the dumplings here! Also remember it’s CASHONLY!

I’ve heard so many things about Luscious Dumplings that I had to try it out for myself. I heard they sell out early on the busy days so I came here on a Tuesday around 12:30 and luckily it wasn’t too crowded. We were the second group in line so we only had to wait around 10 minutes. I was pretty shocked to look inside and see that the restaurant is so tiny. They only have around 10 tables in the whole place which is tiny. It’s so smart of them to give you a menu while you wait so the food will basically come out as soon as you sit down. //SERVICE // The service here was excellent! Everyone was working hard and constantly coming by the table to refill our water or tea. They only have a couple waiters here and they still do an excellent job and are friendly. //FOOD // Pork dumplings with soup: I was looking forward to trying these the most, but unfortunately they were on the dry side with not much soup in them. Typically they are juicy and the dumpling is moist, but on my visit it was the opposite. Pan fried pork dumplings: I love how one side is crispy and the other side is nice and soft with a good chew to it. Overall, I was slightly disappointed, but I would definitely come back again to try the soup dumplings again and hopefully that time they won’t be dry.

With such low prices, I can’t believe this place is able to stay in business! Food: 5⁄5 Service: 6⁄5 I got the combo for $ 8 and it came with 5 dumplings and a big bowl of noodles. I couldn’t finish the noodles so I had to take it home. Not only do they give you a glass of water, but they also give you a glass of yummy hot tea. Service is impeccable. My water glass and my tea cup were always filled to the brim. When restaurants have such great deals, I tend to give them a big tip to help them cover costs. Will be back!

Best dumplings in Los Angeles!!! Get here early because within minutes of opening, all the tables are packed. Don’t sweat tho if there is a wait, you can order ahead and the food will be ready when you sit down. Came here with my parents on a Saturday and discovered that the store was open around 10:45am so was able to skip the crowd. Ordered the $ 8 noodle and dumpling combo but wished I had only ordered the dumplings. Not cuz the noodles aren’t good, but the dumplings are really THAt great. My parents ordered the beef tendon noodles and it was some of the tenderest meat and tendons we had ever eaten at a restaurant(ask to order half beef/half tendon). I’m not a huge fan of the noodles either because they fill me up so fast!!! The dumplings. The star of the show. There are boiled and fried options and all are delicious. They have pork soup dumplings and pork with either fish, shrimp, egg, cabbage, or chive. I highly recommend the fried pork fish dumplings and any dumpling with shrimp. Although these dumplings aren’t xiao long baos(soup dumplings) the meat is so tender inside that juice comes out when you bite into the dumplings! Also, if you’re looking for hotter hot sauce, ask any of the staff for some! Some Unilocalers have complained of heat, but there is definitely AC at this location. This is hands down one of my favorite mom and pops. The dumplings are home made and not imported from somewhere else. The service is phenomenal. The door is opened for you and you are immediately given water and/or tea when you sit down. The waiters and owner is attentive and focused on customers. I will definitely come here again. Not just for the food, but for the great service, which is hard to find in the SGV.

5-Star service. We came a casual lunch with family to chat. This is a popular noodle place with customers still trying to get a seat after it closed for lunch at 2pm. Tip: they will let you get take out just after 2pm. This is Northern Chinese style cuisine and there are a couple of places in the same plaza but this looked more comfortable. The dumplings were tasty(although I didn’t manage to eat them till they were cold). Or take ordered the chive/egg/pork/shrimp; the napa/pork/shrimp; and the steamed pork with soup. The stand out dish was the stewed pork noodle bowl. That’s the best tasting belly pork I’ve had. The noodles were like egg noodles used in chow mein. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the beef brisket noodle soup as it was sold out. Perhaps that is the best dish in the house?! Our greeter/server/all around nice guy helped us get situated with our 3-mo old baby. He cried so I was up and down trying to calm him. We has a stroller too. Our waiter took it all in his stride. 5-stars to this place.

Oh boy I love dumplings. This place is as authentic as it gets. Freshly made dumplings and beef noodle soup make me one happy camper. — Pay attention to their hours because they are open for two 3 hour chunks, 11 – 2 and 5 – 8. They are also closed on Monday and only open for lunch on Sunday. If you want lunch I would get here before 1:45 because they close a little bit before 2. So many times I have come and they are already closed. I learned my lesson. — Lunch combo of beef noodle soup and five dumplings is where it is at. It’s only $ 7.50 for a well rounded meal: a bowl of beef noodle soup and dumplings. They do run out of dumplings fast so you may have a limited selection depending on how busy they were. I like the soup pork dumplings and the fried dumplings. I’ve had their pork, shrimp, and cabbage also and it’s delicous as well. — Small restaurant so wait for one of their small tables with patience. Usually not a long wait. — Service is quick and good. A small family restaurant with some darn good dumplings and noodle soup.

Delicious! The service was great and I got my tendon noodle soup unbelievably fast. Their menu is simple and I liked how they had combos that had both dumplings and noodles. It would be nice if the combo/first section of the menu had the English translation like the rest of the menu. I went on a Thursday evening and it was busy, people had to start waiting outside after we came around 5:30pm. I overheard a lot of customers ordering the combo. We also tried the pork fried dumplings, which took a while to get out, but were pretty good. The waiters were friendly. I will be coming back! Note: CASHONLY.

This is a cozy little noodle place in the same plaza as Half and Half Good Old Time and Phoenix. There was a little bit of a wait during lunch, but we were seated in less than 20 minutes. My boyfriend and I understood that the place was busy but it was kind of understaffed. It took awhile for them to get our orders, bring out the food, and to give us the check. However, I do give them credit for checking in on us by refilling our waters, etc. We ended up ordering: 1. Lunch Combo of Choice of Noodles + 2 Pan-fried chive dumplings: I chose the stew beef noodle soup and the pan-fried pork dumplings. The noodles tasted okay. It didn’t taste homemade and fresh. The broth was decent. I didn’t like the shredded cabbage that came with the noodles. The pan-fried dumplings were the saving factor, however they took forever to arrive(3⁄5). 2. Stew beef noodle soup: I was confused as to why my boyfriend had bok choy as his veggies in his noodle soup and I had shredded cabbage. Maybe because my noodle soup was part of a combo? Either way, we both thought that the noodles were decent. However, we’ve had better. The broth wasn’t something to be impressed about, but it tasted standard(3⁄5). 3. Pork soup dumplings: Don’t be fooled. These are not xiao long bao. They’re just regular looking dumplings. They were decent(4⁄5). Overall, the bill came out to be cheap because of the lunch combo specials. However, we were disappointed with the noodles overall. The only thing that I would recommend is their pan-fried dumplings. Other than that, just be aware that the parking lot has limited space.
