This is the slowest restaurant I have ever been to! Prepare to wait over an hour ever time! Tonight we waited an hour for a pizza and when I went up to check, they hadn’t even put the pizza in the oven because the girl forgot to write«paid» on the receipt. The owner and his son both repeated that it was the cashiers fault over and over again. I don’t want to hear that it’s the cashiers fault. I have never had a good experience and I keep giving it third and fourth tries because I live nearby.

This place absolutely sucked. I came with my boyfriend, I ordered a chicken sandwich but subbed out the bread for lettuce and my boyfriend ordered a calzone. The food took about 20 – 30 minutes to get to us. When my boyfriend got his calzone, it was extremely tiny and the tomato sauce was so bland. My sandwich had nothing, it was supposed to come with mushrooms, cheese, and a spread, all of which were somehow missing. The only alright food was the wings and when we asked the waitresses about honey mustard, they looked at us with a stink face. How extremely rude, I do not ever recommend this place and I’m never going back. The service sucked and everyone was rude.

Amatos continues to be our GO-TO pizza place. We love the pizza and attention to always getting our order correct. We love the owner and the service all of his staff consistently provide to us for family dinner or group parties. The atmosphere is lively, friendly, and always helpful and attentive. There are a few video games which keep the kids busy. The restaurant and restrooms are ALWAYS clean. Amatos is consistently a supporter of local school and youth activities. They really care about our neighborhood and show it! We will keep coming here! Cheers!

Really great pizza and they deliver! I ordered the meat lovers but added spicy sausage and spicy red sauce. It was fantastic. The wings were also done really well. Highly recommend. The service over the phone is also top notch.

Delivery guy was very nice and personable. Pizza was DELICIOUS and delivered in the exact time frame they quoted. We had the meat lovers with spicy sausage instead of regular and also substituted their regular red sauce for the spicy red sauce. It was excellent and quite possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had! We also had the wings and they didn’t disappoint either :)

Great Pizza, a place to I come to regularly. In 15 – 20 trips I have been here the pizza is never ready on time. Doesn’t matter who is working the phones, anticipate whatever they say it’s going to be 10 – 15 minutes longer. Writing this review while I wait, coming up on 20 minutes, ugh. Annoying more than anything else, but worth the wait. I’ll probably change the rating to 4 stars after I eat and feel less crabby. Fresh ingredients, not too oily, friendly people at the restaurant. Moved to Los Gatos, but still make the drive over.

My personal favorite pizza is the Almaden Greek. Tasty! The pizza here is a cut above. Lots of tables inside and out. Usually pretty quiet unless there is a kids soccer party. Clean place, lots of windows, and a friendly staff. They also have a few big screen TVs if you want to catch a game. I have been here at least a dozen times and I have noticed that the wait for a pizza is a tad long. So maybe I should learn a lesson and call ahead next time?

This is an ok Pizza place. The delivery took 75 minutes, but we live right around the corner. The food was hot and was fairly good. The wings taste frozen, but their cheese bread was really great. I’d try them again.

The pizza is great here! The only thing I would avoid is the Chicago deep dish. That was a mistake. Other than that the bread sticks are good too!

The food here is always great, but only if you’re willing to wait 2 – 3 times longer than your average pizza parlor. Unfortunately, I weigh my ratings heavily on service; if the food taste great but management doesn’t understand the fundamentals of service, I don’t go back. Unless there’s a local youth sports team having a team dinner, this place is fairly empty — there’s a reason for this.

My family and I have been coming here since it opened and it does not disappoint! Excellent pizza, always fresh ingredients, and the place is clean. The owner, Mohammad, is such a great guy and takes pride in his restaurant and making the customers happy. Great service and a wonderful neighborhood pizza place! Glad this small business is doing well.

Went here with some friends and got what I think was called the garden veggie pizza or something, deep dish style– it wasn’t exactly deep-dish, but was probably a lot healthier for it What stood out here were the fresh ingredients, the tasty pizza and cheese topping, the cheerful staff, and the wealth of seating. The place also has an awkwardly placed soda machine, and an old arcade game and some type of claw machine. If I was in the area and wanted pizza, I’d definitely come back. I’d give it 3.5 stars.

Place is very clean, workers were nice, from there, well not so great. Food is overpriced given the portions. The order first vs waiter approach is way too slow, line was out the door with a wait time of 10−15min, then 30 – 45 wait on preparation. If you operate like fast food, open more than 1 register.

This is by far the best pizza in San Jose. We have tried numerous pizza places in our area and they are awful. This place has fresh ingredients and the pizza is consistently good. We went there one night and it was great for eating in as well with a great environment for the whole family. I would give it 5 stars but we ordered delivery twice and both times they took 1.5 hours when we were told 45 – 60 min. They were very nice about being late but still late. We always have to go pick it up now. That’s my only complaint. Sadly, it still surpasses the other pizza places around here by a landslide.

The pizza is pretty good but way over priced. Their video games for the kids are a rip off and over priced as well. Not worth the money.

I ate here like 5 years ago with my family and did not like it. I decided to try it again since a friend told me they have gluten-free pizza and I recently found out I’m gluten-intolerant. I ordered over the phone and was told I would be given the new customer discount. When I went to pick up my pizza, they charged me $ 7 extra for the gluten-free crust, something they didn’t mention on the phone. Even with the discount, the pizza was ridiculously expensive. I want to say it was like $ 25 for a medium veggie pizza. When I got home and tried it, the pizza was very bland. The crust had little taste and the sauce was just as plain. I ate a couple slices and put it in the fridge for later, but just ended up tossing the rest because it was so bad. If you want good gluten-free pizza, you’re better off going to Pizza My Heart: it’s bigger, cheaper, and has so much more flavor!

Came here for lunch one day. Got a personal pizza(make sure you read the fine print b/c if its a specialty pizza its a lot more) Plate for a salad bar and fountain drink all for $ 18.00!!! I almost had a heart attack! they have a lunch special but I failed to read that their specialty pizzas are not part of the lunch special so that was partly my fault. but still 18.00 dollars could have gotten me a Large Pepperoni pizza with 2 bottled cokes @ Angies Pizza(my fav pizza spot). Oh did I mention that the salad bar is only a ONE time deal! No seconds like Roundtable Pizza. My co worker and I did not think that their pizza is all that and a bag of chips. Not returning. I am still kicking my self for those $ 18 that I wasted for LUNCH!

Had a craving for a Stromboli for Father’s Day… Went to Unilocal, and found Amato Pizza just a few miles from me. They had Calzones… good enough. Ordered a Calzone and a medium gluten free pizza for my wife. The good: Calzone was freshly made, tasted good Pizza was also freshly made, tasted ok The bad: Cheese on the calzone was refrigerator cold… too cold to melt on the warm calzone Asked for extra sauce, since the calzone was a little dry… Waitress brought me ice cold sauce on a paper plate. When I asked why, she got defensive and said«I swear to god people order cold sauce». Very odd. She did take it back & heated it up for me. The medium pizza cost was $ 26… Overall, no reason to come back.

Been here a few times. The Amato calzone is filled up decent & taste great. The thiner/regular crust pizza is good & we all like the crust. I tried one of the Amato pies. It is there version of Chicago style pizza. I was not a fan of it. It cost way to much. Medium was $ 28. It had too much tomato on the top & I couldn’t even tell if there was any cheese on it. All & all a nice place with decent food. Has Beer & wine as well as soft drinks. The wings aren’t to shabby as well.

Review for Take-Out Only! Had a coupon for free 1-topping SMALL pizza(the biggie small word will make sense later). Called in around 4:30PM to place an order for a sausage, shrimp, mushroom pizza with garlic cheese bread. Yum! TL;DR? Decent pizza in the local community, great flexible service and associates! Nice place to have a pizza night with plenty of space and parking. Give it a try! Support our Almaden community businesses :) Food: A– Ordered the personal pizza with Italian sausage, shrimp, mushroom with BBQ sauce on regular crust. Their website does a good job in being informative about their pizzas and foods and thank God they do not charge extra for premium items… meaning my shrimp was not an additional $ 1 or something stupid :) YAY! The pizza itself came out piping hot fresh and very fulfill– meat portions were great! For a tiny pizza they loaded it up greatly. The garlic cheese bread was satisfying although I prefer to have it more cheesy and garlic-y. Service: A Why A? I called in and the lady who took my order said ½ hour later. True THAT! I came ½ hr and it was instantly ready. When the payment came, we both noticed my coupon had said SMALL pizza, not personal… oops that was my bad since I ordered it! She was nice enough to subtract the difference from the garlic bread :) SWEET! Way to go Amato’s that was awfully kind of you! Location/Ambiance: A It’s spacious, lots of parking and 5 minutes from my house haha. Nothing really to complain about! Inside looks funs with tvs and games and plenty of seats/tables. Price: B Average pricing for pizzeria, similar to Via Mia’s. I got mines for free and ended up paying $ 1.49 for pizza and bread because of my coupon/gift certificate. Sweet!
