When I was a teenager we did Adopt a Family for my senior year of High School.
We picked a family and gave a bakesale, requested items to be raffled off for donations and generally raised money so we could give one fantastic family a wonderfully cheery Holiday.
When I joined my current firm, and remembering my fun and wonderful experience with this program in High School I asked my director if we could adopt a family for the firm. She said we could, since they did it every year!
This was my second consecutive year buying items for Adopt a Family through the Bill Wilson Center and there is nothing more wonderful than knowing you’re giving a family a memorable and cheerful Holiday!
I would encourage anyone who would like to start a program at their job or home to contact the center and see if you can Adopt a Family too! :D
