It’s bubbletastic! The Bubble Run has got to be the chillest 5k ever. No individual times or medals, minimal access control, and even a route that was only 4.2 km according to my Strava app. It’s more about fun rather than being a competitive race! Minimal access control means that anybody could walk onto the course just past the starting area. I did see some participants bypass the long line at the starting gate in this way. But you owe it to yourself to wait your turn at the starting gate, because a huge shower of bubbles rains down on you as your pass through the gate! There were also four gates set up along the route, each pouring out bubbles of a different color over people’s heads. Sadly there were way fewer bubbles here than what the official pictures show. Some tips: 1. When you pick up your materials, make sure you get a T-shirt and a headband with your bib. One of our packets was missing a headband. 2. There’s a water station at the halfway point on the run, but bringing a water bottle is not a bad idea. 3. Sunscreen! 4. The color washes out of clothes, but it’s a little harder to wash shoes. Leave your nice running shoes at home. 5. Parking and traffic are tight at this location, and many people just parked further away and walked over. This is a fun activity the whole family can enjoy, and the sign up cost was reasonable($ 20 early bird per person, plus a $ 10 processing fee). Just remember that it’s all about fun and not about competition, unless you’re competing with your friends to see who can finish with the most color-dyed shirt!

Bubble Run! What a fun-filled morning of bubbly frothiness. But why 3 stars? You’ll find out in a bit. This 5K is definitely family friendly. I loved seeing people of all ages & sizes enjoying this. However, parking was horrendous! The hubs & I arrived an hour early(parking opens 90 minutes prior) to get parking. Sucked that we had to wait in horrendous traffic in lines for 45ish minutes to get into the parking lot! They should have opened a few entry points to de-congest all ghe traffic. Also, I’d like to say that all you drivers trying to cut in line to get into parking faster… wait your darn turn like everyone else & don’t be a ding dong! /end rant The event started promptly at 9AM with waves going about every 2 minutes. If you don’t count the one at the starting line, there are 4 color bubble stations & one at the after party. Another thing that was annoying was that there was almost no shade on the entire course, so hot! Overall, –2 stars for the parking & lack of shade. However, a great way to spend your morning with your family(once you get past the parking crud). I may or may not do this 5K again. Depends on the parking: P
