This place is just like Japan. It feels so warm and welcoming and filled with cuteness and sweetness in all the different interesting foods they sell. I’m so happy this bakery exists and I’ll certainly becoming back: D

This place is amazing! They have delicious breads, fresh onigiri and even coffee and tea! My sister also loves the piroshkis. ^^ The only catch is that everyone else loves the bakery too so they are often sold out of many items and can be quite crowded. I’ve found the best times to come are right after opening(~8am) and before lunch(~11am). The onigiri are still hot at those times and they restock the breads then too!

I love this small family-owned bakery next to Mitsuwa marketplace. They make the best strawberry whipped cream shortcake. During the holidays they import their cake decorations from Japan and they’re absolutely adorable. They’re very creative with their breads(although some might say a bit too creative.) They sell everything from japanese breakfast breads, green tea lattes and coffees, cakes, pastries, and even warm fresh-made onigiri(rice ball). If you’re grocery shopping in Mitsuwa or grabbing things you don’t need at Daiso, I highly recommend you stop by here and try something. Some advice: Their green tea latte contains a shot of espresso while green tea lattes at most coffee shops do not. If you want just matcha powder with milk, get their green tea milk. I recommend their chicken teriyaki onigiri and tuna onigiri. I’m not a huge fan of the salmon one. I highly recommend the strawberry short cake. And I personally like the breads even though they may sound a bit strange at first.(ie, spaghetti or chow mein bread). Do keep in mind that they don’t keep well over night. If you put them in the fridge, it’s over.

TRYTHESTRAWBERRYCAKE!!! The cream is absolutely wonderful. Never had anything like this elsewhere. The cream is light and a bit sweet, a perfect match with the fresh strawberries within the cake. My boyfriend’s fav is their tuna or salmon rice ball which makes a great breakfast. These are usually sold out in the afternoon. –1 star because of a bad communication exp. Once we decided to dine in the store, the young girl staff was unhappy and blamed us for not mentioning that at check-out. Until then we learnt that there would have been some extra fee applied for dining in-store. But that was our first time doing so and she didn’t ask whether we want to stay or take-out. How are we supposed to know this wired rule? I do not appreciate her unreasonable attitude.

I used to work in the plaza and I can’t even begin to tell you how often we went to Clover’s for a snack or for lunch. We’d send someone over to pick up enough stuff to come back and feed an entire family. WITHDRINKS! I want to say that I believe that Clover’s is family owned and it’s rather quaint inside. There’s always some sort of cute midi playing in the background and it’s just loud enough for you to notice and feel at east; but, never obnoxiously loud. I’d know, I’ve tried to study here before(only had to leave because a friend called in need of some assistance 20mins later). I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed staying here for hours, too! I mean think about all of the cute and good breads available! It doesn’t matter who you are or how many times you’ve been there. Every single time you walk in, you’ll be greeted with an «irashaimase!» It’s warm and welcoming to know that they’re aware of your presence and acknowledge it. I always love coming here, even until now, for their chocolate melon breads! I was never a pizza bread or hotdog bun type of person but the chocolate melon breads and musubis are to die for. On my recent visit, I learned that they now have more musubi options. I loved getting their double mochas and my friends liked their strawberry drink. It’s rather affordable, I feel. It’s not something you can really get anywhere else in the plaza so I feel like it’s definitely worth it. Definitely a good place to visit if you’re in the area. There’s never a bad experience!

I love Clover Bakery. I’ve been going to Mitsuwa next door for two years but I never knew Clover and the other businesses were back here. My wife heard about it and now we can’t stop going there. The food is great, and the prices are very reasonable(an attribute hard to find in this crazy expensive area). For lunch the other day, I popped in to Clover Bakery for an egg salad sandwich, a spicy tuna sandwich and a Mini Custard Cream Bread, all for $ 7.50, plus tip but including tax. Amazing! The sandwiches were small but beautifully prepared and completely delicious. The mini Custard Cream Bread was also exceptional — the filling was great and the bread itself tasted fresh and wonderful as well. I’ve also tried the onigiri /rice ball with the salmon, which was awesome too. So often I’ll hit the mid afternoon and I find myself craving something savory but cheap and quick. Going forward, I can just pop over to Clover Bakery to pick my flavor. My wife tried the Spam Musabi — another of our faves — and she said it was awesome too.

Clover bakery! This small unsuspecting store tucked in the corner of Mitsuwa marketplace is a hidden gem. The bread here is baked fresh daily. I really enjoy the croquette bread. I could not stop wolfing it down. I know that room temperature fried potato tucked into bread doesn’t sound appealing to most, but give it a try! You might be pleasantly surprised. I also really love their fish sandwich. The melon bread is pleasantly chewy with a distinct lightly sweet flavor. Yakisoba bread was pretty interesting. Their green tea cookies by the counter have a authentic green tea flavor to it that is just right and offers a nice crunch. The strawberry milk is so delicious! There are bits and pieces of strawberry jelly. It’s mildly sweet, but not overly so. They make their drinks fresh. The Japanese ladies at the cashier are so nice! In the morning, they are usually packaging the breads and stocking the bread shelves. If you want something that’s not on the shelf, just ask them and they might have it ready in the back. Most people come in and out for their bread run and don’t dine in. The bakery plays music box music, so it’s a lovely place to drink green tea(freshly made!) and munch on breads and cookies to pass the morning.

I was really hoping to like this place a lot more than I did, but I do want to come back again another time. I’m sure it was on me for coming so close to their closing time. You can’t really expect a lot of options at that time, especially any fresh ones. Because of Unilocal and their patrons’ beautiful pictures, I decided on the jalapeño bread hot dog and spaghetti bread. The spaghetti bread was kind of a disappointment, as it was cold and bland. Considering the cheap prices of their pastries though, I didn’t mind it all that much. I did however enjoy the jalapeño bread hot dog. Again, my only complaint would be that it was cold. I think the pastries would have been a lot better if they were kept in some sort of warmer. The staff here were very friendly. Greeted me right as I walked in and attended to me immediately. Parking in this plaza can be pretty hectic depending on the time or day. Avoid Sundays because that’s family grocery shopping day and I can never seem to find a spot. I remember spending 30 minutes just driving around in circles.

Absolutely adorable place! They have such cutely drawn tags and the workers are so nice. There are a variety of different goodies available in the store. I bought the spaghetti bread… yah I know… it’s actually spaghetti inside a sandwich. It sounds weird but it was actually pretty appetizing. I also ordered the red bean doughnuts which were decent since I love red bean but I’m not a huge fan of doughnuts. I do think you should give it a try though. They take credit and I believe they also do drinks. There isn’t any wifi that I know of or a bathroom but mitsuwa is right around the corner. I definitely recommend this place if you want to get away from the big named bread stores.

This is a wonderful small shop that really caters to its’ customers. The women working in the back are inviting and helpful, the abundance and variety of their baked goods are amazing(I spent over $ 20 in one go!), and they have discounts on their remaining breads if you get there in the late afternoon. After eating 7 – 8 different types of baked goods in one go(I had to try them all!), the only slight negative thing I found was that most of the breads seem to be made with the same dough??? I am a huge fan of bread and I was expecting the breads to have different textures and tastes but largely remained the same. But even with that, I would definitely head back when I’m in the area.

The sweetest bakery with the nicest employees around(in high contrast to Paris Baguette in the same shopping center). I’m not a fan of the double carb buns and rolls like spaghetti and chow me in, but there are usually so many choices available that everyone should find something to make them happy. My absolute favorite thing is the(super) spicy tuna bread. I am always sad when it’s sold out. The onigiri and beef curry bread are also very good. Pretty much all the sweets are delicious, but I prefer the fruity pastries. The melon breads look really cute, but don’t taste particularly distinctive to me, I’d get a mini red bean donut instead!

I love this place. I often come here once to twice a week. I especially like their variety Onigiri. It’s so delicious. I can eat their Onigiri every day All bread are unique and tasty. I love to try different items. They all are GOOD Also compare to other bakery shops, Clover Bakery is far much reasonable and you don’t get bored(if you eat every day!) So many varieties of kinds and taste. Highly recommend

I did what you would call a «Clover haul». I stopped by and ordered: –Curry Pan: It was fresh and hot. And so chewy yet so crunchy. Would go just for the curry pan. It has obviously strong spices and strong curry flavor –Small Strawberry Cake: I love whipped cream especially fresh whipped cream. The cake also had fresh strawberries inside and on top. –Salmon Rice Triangle: They make it daily and it makes a solid/yummy meal –Croquette Burger: Did not enjoy the heavy mayonnaise. It was also cold and unappetizing. I will come here for the triangle rice balls and the curry pan. Probably will order friend’s or my own birthday cake here. The fresh fruit cake seems better here than Paris Baguette or other Asian bakeries I also heard that the strawberry sandwiches are good. Note: It’s a small shop. Tables/seating are limited and I personally don’t like eating here. I would to-go your pastries and snacks.

GOD, I LOVECARBS!!! We ordered: — Unagi onigiri: Loved this!!! Love anything eel. 5⁄5 — Sake onigiri: Needs more salmon, but the flavor was present. 4⁄5 — Masago and crab bread: SOBOMB! I loved this. Warm it up for like 30 secs and it’s perffff. 5⁄5 — Spicy tuna bread: Great spice to it! Reminds me of Thai tuna. 4⁄5 — Fried curry pan: Loved it piping hot. 4⁄5 — Vegetable curry bread: Similar to the fried curry pan. 3⁄5 — Hot dog roll: basic. 3⁄5 — Ham and cheese bread?: Good. 3⁄5 Hole in the wall bakery. Kind of dingy looking inside. Same plaza as Mitsuwa. Lots of parking if you go off peak hours. They take card!

This place is so underrated!!! I happened to come across the bakery when I stopped by the plaza on an errand. When I opened up Unilocal to see exactly what it was, I saw that they had rice balls! I LOVE Japanese Rice balls! Especially the Unagi one!!! Looking in, it looked empty… but I made my way in anyways. I saw that they had a variety of pastries, ranging from sweet to savory. I saw one that caught my eye in particular, it was a jalepeno hot dog bun. But due to the fact that I also got some pastries from Paris Baguette, I simply had no more room it and focused solely on the Unagi Rice ball. I was not disappointed at all by the rice ball I chose. It was great! The Nori was still nice and crunchy because of the way it is wrapped. You kind of wrap the rice yourself, so that you get that satisfying crunch mixed in with the softness of the rice and savory taste of the Unagi. I came again today right at noon and the place was buzzing with more people than I expected. I once again got the Unagi Onigari, but added the jalapeño hot dog, spaghetti bun, and spam musubi to my purchase. Spam musubi was quite interesting. I actually debated whether or not it would be worth my money, simply due to the fact that the rice to spam and egg ratio was just too much. But I needed to meet the $ 7 minimum for card charges, so I decided to go for it. The spam musubi here isn’t what you’d expect from L&L or Hawaiian joints. It comes with a slice of cucumber and egg. The combination is actually very refreshing and works well together. The rice ended up being a nice balance to how salty the spam was, so it all worked out in the end. Spaghetti in the bun reminded me a bit of Filipino Spaghetti. It was a bit sweet and it had a Vienna sausage type of meat in it. It was decently sized and very filling, so I just ended up eating the spaghetti and tossing over half of the bun. haha. I saved my jalapeño dog as a snack for when I’d get hungry later in the day. OMG, let me tell you, I made the right choice in doing so, because it was AMAZING. The cheese is nice and creamy, the hot dog doesn’t taste like cheap dogs you can grab at any store, and the jalapenos are the right level of spicy. It was just amazing! I’m definitely grabbing MORE than just one next time. There are so many pastries here and I can’t wait to come back and try it all out! And they’re super affordable too! Not only that, it’s a super cute little shop, with a couple of tables that you can sit at and enjoy your pastries on the spot. I loved how cozy it felt ^_^. Remember, bring cash if you don’t think you can meet that $ 7 minimum, but trust me when I say you will definitely meet it.

I cannot live without tuna mayo onigiri(rice ball) there and I am a frequent buyer of onigiri there. My daughter even ask tuna mayo for lunch. I go every Saturday so I will have hard time without it. Other onigiri like beef ginger, pork miso are also great. I also love ufo bread, croquette burger, yakisoba pan! This place reminds me of home town’s friendly bread shop in Japan.

COMESUPPORT A JAPANESELADY-RUNBUSINESS Seriously every time I come here I feel like I’m coming into a nursery(in the best way). The tinkly music, soft string lights, and handwritten labels are really cute, and the staff are just so damn polite. Also their spam onigiri can’t be beat.

This place is much cheaper than Paris Baguette. They have unique buns such as croquette burgers and spaghetti buns. Come here earlier so you have a wider variety to choose from because the later it gets, the variety dwindles down. They also have fresh rice balls at the counter. The unagi one is more pricey but still worth it considering other places sell them for almost $ 4 each. Ate the unagi rice ball right away and it was super yummy! I plan on coming here earlier next time so I can try their other buns. I have yet to try the buns I bought but they all look super yummy.

My friend and I decided to visit this bakery on a whim. This place is super cute! We came two hours before they were closing, so I wasn’t surprised they didn’t have much options left, but it didn’t bother me. I bought a spicy tuna roll, fried curry bread, spaghetti bread, and some ume, chicken teriyaki, pork miso, salmon, and plum onigiri. Everything was so delicious! My favorites were the spicy tuna roll and the fried curry bread. I would totally come back in the morning so I can try more of their stuff. You can also purchase some drinks to go with your bread. The staff is super nice, I asked if there were any more salmon onigiri, he said no but offered to wrap some fresh ones for me which I thought was really nice. Will come again!

My sister and I have been wanting to come here so we came on a rainy day and it was literally the perfect spot to grab some cute Japanese baked goods! We bought a lot of onigiris that you wrap yourself, to pretend the seaweed from being soggy — which is super smart! We also got some bread that was really good. My favorite bread was the spicy tuna! My favorite onigiri was probably the beef and ginger :)

The staff there are very polite and kind. I showed up 1.5 hours earlier to pick up the Christmas cake and they were able to accommodate me by decorating the cake right away. The cutest and oh so charming place for breakfast, a light snack, or whenever you want a carb fix. I feel like I’ve stepped back into Japan when I’ve come here, from the hand-drawn cute faced emoji-like depictions of their food items to the music-box like music. Like everything in Japan, it is completely all in the details at Clover. I’m in love with all of their cute. When you come in, pick up a tray and tongs, then walk along the shelves to pick up your baked good items. Save some room on the tray for the onigiri and the sugar dusted doughy balls of goodness by the register. I have loved everything I have tried. The staff is so friendly and all of the customers quite respectful.

Cute little Japanese bakery located in the same plaza as Mitsuwa, Paris Baguette, etc. Their spaghetti pan, yakisoba pan, rice triangles(onigiri), and melon pan bread are a few of my favorites. If I could, I would buy their entire stock for the day. Everything sold here is made fresh daily I believe, and they have discounts close to the evening/closing! Some breads are marked down to $ 1, what a steal! Employees here are also super kind and patient because sometimes I want to grab more but hey, it says a lot about the quality of their products! I’m a huge fan!

An authentic Japanese bakery. Even the store is relatively small, it’s very welcoming. Their staff are also super nice as you would expect from Japanese. They also have good variety(but you have to arrive early because they seem to sold out quickly over the weekend). I’ve tried the fried curry bun and fried hot dog bun. They are both quite good.

Japanese bakery with sweet both sweet & savory pastries for a decent price. Reminds me of a smaller version of Paris Baguette. Their almond pie, which was pretty much an almond croissant was pretty yummy. Flaky with almond filling, $ 2 Chocolate pie AKA chocolate croissant had a good deal amount of chocolate inside, $ 2 Their rice/seaweed pockets, $ 1.75. Cleverly wrapped so that the seaweed isn’t soggy when you purchase them. Had other goods like donuts, red bean pastries, beef proshkis, coffee, lattes… Good place for a snack & coffee w a friend. Reposting my 2008 review. It all still holds true, except now I gotta add the Paleo and Gluten-free folks to the exception list. ========================================================= There’s something for everyone here… except the Atkins /South Beach diet folks. Sorry, carbophobes. I like the savory breads like ham and cheese or croquette. The rest of my family likes the sweeter pans, especially with the red bean paste filling. The service is friendly. Coming home with a bag of these is a fun way to brighten the day.

When I was younger, all I ate was ham, cheese, and mayo sandwiched between two slices of crustless Wonder Bread and somehow, I managed not to pack on the pounds. As I got older, my metabolism slowed, and now, I can’t have packages of processed meat, American cheese slices, containers of mayonnaise, or loaves of white bread in my house. Sucks. Thankfully, Clover Bakery & Café(the cutest bakery & café in the WORLD) sells ham and cheese sandwiches so I don’t ever feel the need to stock up on the above ingredients at my local supermarket. I’m also a fan of the tuna mayo onigiri(rice balls). They are CLOSEDONMONDAYS, so DON’T DROPBYON A MONDAYUNLESSYOUWANTTOFEELHORRIBLYDISAPPOINTEDANDHANGRY.

Lots of Asian goodies ranging from pastries to spam musubi and freshly made rice balls. A couple of them really unique to this bakery such as the spaghetti sandwich and the chow mein sandwich. Sounds weird, but it’s so interestingly good and strange and really really messy to eat. The chocolate chip melon smiling bun things are so cute! It’s texture is denser than what you would expect when looking at it, but still good. The shop is really small and they don’t have the largest selection of things, but the things they do have are great.

omg they have Green Tea Milk!!! It’s like Sharetea’s matcha fresh milk, but perhaps even tastier, with a stronger matcha flavor. It’s like green tea flavored milk, kind of like they way chocolate milk is. So yummy. Clover is known for it’s plethora of pastries, which have things like croquettes or curry or pasta noodles or hot dog. Definitely not your typical breads and pastries. I’ve tried some of these and wasn’t really impressed. They also sell onigiri here, but I think I prefer the onigiri from Marukai market better. I tried the teriyaki spam onigiri and it was just okay. I’ll definitely come back here for the Green Tea Milk, which is the best thing here. I’ll continue to try some of their other pastries and onigiri to see if there are standouts, but so far, not yet. This is a really cute place though, and it’s located in the Strawberry shopping plaza, right next to Tea Station.
