Cornejo’s Event Planner

Our wedding was mid– August of this year and it was amazing thanks to Cornejo’s Event Planning. Griselda was our coordinator and she went above and beyond what we could have asked for. She was in constant communication with me and made sure that I was happy with all the choices my husband and I made. She is an amazing person and great at her job. She listens to what you want and your vision and adds her profession opinion as needed. She was very attentive, organized, and diligent during our wedding. She contacted our vendors to make sure everything went smooth. She created a timeline and made sure everyone stuck to it and was on it. We highly recommend her, she knows her stuff.
The decorations were great and really made our wedding elegant. The food was good, and many people gave us compliments about it. We had over 250 people at our wedding and were scared the food would run out since it was buffet. To our surprise, there was food left over. We loved the food so much, because it had a great variety-​we had some Mexican dishes to please our family members, as well as some new dishes that impressed our friends. The appetizers we heard were good and all finished. The cake was HUGE, beautiful, over the top and many people also asked about where we had gotten it from. The bartenders were great, keeping all the drinks coming, and engaging with our guests. My bridal bouquet was fabulous and I loved everything about it. My bridesmaids bouquets and groomsmen boutonnieres were nice.
My husband and I are very pleased with Griselda and the Cornejo’s team and would highly recommend them. They are a one stop shop and make the wedding planning process so easy and stress-​free. Thank you once again for making our Wedding amazing!

What can I possibly say about Cornejo’s? Everything! Everything good of course…
I came to Cornejo’s as a last resort and had some doubts.
But I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Talk about a perfect wedding (my guests still make mention of it and people who see the pictures do too).
Orlando is the man! He made absolute certain that every detail was covered. And it was. The set up was more beautiful than Orlando expressed.
My grandmother’s backyard was quite literally transformed. The party planners set up for 80 people and it looked very elegant. I wish I could remember the names of the waiter and waitress provided because they pulled it off quite well and transitioned everything smoothly from serving dinner to cutting the cake.
I got the whole package and it included everything from the centerpieces to the cake and every detail in between.
Cornejo’s did an excellent job and I’m so glad I chose them for our special day. There was minimal work done by myself or my family as Cornejo’s provided everything except the dress and guests. I highly recommend them for any occasion.

We hired Cornejos for our waiting staff for our small reception and they did not disappoint. They were on time and made sure everything went smooth for us. They were all friendly and in a great mood. I would definitely hire them again and I highly recommend their service.

We just recently had our wedding on 9÷27÷14 (we had about 135 – 140 people attend) and everything that was provided by Cornejo’s was great! My husband and I found Cornejo’s through a referral. They offer really good wedding packages, they are flexible and try to meet your needs/​expectations and it’s very affordable which is a PLUS! We were beyond happy with their price and service. They traveled all the way to Oakdale, CA for our wedding. Everything from the food (which was amazing, all of our guests commented on how good the food was), the décor, the flowers, their team’s service. The servers that we had were on top of everything. They set up, served the food, cleaned up in an organized manner. They used the kitchen at the house we had our wedding at and we were surprised and amazed at how CLEAN they left it, as if nothing had happened there. We are genuinely very happy with their service provided. We would totally hire them again for another event and truely recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer that provides almost everything you need for any event. Griselda who was the one who helped me out was very helpful and answered all my questions to her best ability. Her team was also very professional and respectful the day of the wedding:-)

If i could give 10 stars to Cornejo’s Event Planner I will. Love their customer service, they plan my wedding in 2011 and now they will work on my baby girls birthday party.
Griselda was awesome, she help us a lot and the most important thing for me and my husband she cares a lot about my daughters foods allergies. That make us feel comfortable with the service. The price was the best price we could ever find. This is why we always do business with them. Thank you Lulu & Griselda you ladies are awesome.

I used Cornejo’s Event Planning for my daughter’s Quinceañera August 9, 2014. Griselda was great and took the time to give us options and showed us all their different fabrics. Even though she was late to go see the premier of Transformers 4 with her son at no time did she rush us. There was lots of changes and last minute changes and they took the time to listen and made no mistakes. Lulu and her experienced staff transformed the hall into a beautiful place. They went above and beyond to make this possible, Amazing and Beautiful Decoration!!! I highly recommend them and will used them again on my next event.

We used Cornejo’s Event Planner for our wedding in April. We bought the cake from them, they seemed to have a contract with El Buen Gusto Bakery, and that is actually where we went to do the cake tasting (cake was delicious). We also got our flowers from them, centerpieces and bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. Finally, we had them do the décor at our reception. Everything came out exactly how we requested, Lulu was very helpful and attentive, she personally delivered the bouquets to me at the hotel I was staying at and then headed to deliver the boutonnieres to my husband at the hotel he was staying at, and then headed to the reception venue. My bouquet was a little pricey, but then again it was all peonies and it couldn’t have been more perfect, so I didn’t mind the price on it. The one thing that we wish we would have know was that the uplights were actually bigger and brighter than the ones we had seen, so our reception was pretty lit up when the dancing started, it wasn’t towards the end when my husband went around turning some off so that the room could be dimmer. Our guests were very impressed by our décor.

Lulu and her group did a terrific job at our Fiesta for 200+ people. Cornejo’s saved the day for us as our other caterer dropped the ball… Lulu jumped right in and matched the price of our previous caterer… and on very short notice. She was helpful, timely, responsive and offered linens in addition to food — a big help! And her prices were 30% less (for linens) than other places. The linens weren’t of the highest quality (a few stains) but for our needs, the price was right! Their mexican food was plentiful and delicious. And we had many Latinos in our crowd; they all approved! Thank you, Lulu and Cornejo’s. You came to our rescue and did a super job!

I used this vendor for all the flowers I needed for my wedding. I read the reviews, good and bad, after I met with them. I sympathize with those who weren’t happy with this vendor’s service, because you only get one wedding. However, you must realize that this vendor holds many events, and if you do not specify exactly what you want, they will do what they think is best. Since they were the most affordable ones I had met with, I decided to pay for a demonstration, which I absolutely loved. What I made sure to do is communicate constantly with Lulu, and reiterate what I wanted, and any changes I needed made. I am a very picky person, and she managed to work with me. I kept changing up the church décor, up to the day before my wedding, and she followed through. I had her reduce my already absolutely GORGEOUS bouquet on the spot, because it was much bigger than I wanted it to be, but again, it was just gorgeous. The flowers for my reception, and the candelabras were an absolute success! Exactly the look I wanted, very beautiful, fresh, and romantic, I got a lot of compliments. Again, I am a very picky person, somewhat difficult to work with, but I got exactly what I wanted, because I made sure I kept constant and open communication. This is something I did with every vendor I worked with, and I had several. I recommend this place as I am very pleased with the flowers I got from Lulu.

WORST COMPANY EVER!
A warning: DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE A MENTAL BREAKDOWN! I placed an order for 29 candelabras and LULU said she would be able to rent them to us. I put down a deposit and everything. A Day before the wedding, my fiancé called and they said the candelabras were ready for pick up. When I get there, they’re were only 17 and they were broken, different colors, and horrible looking. When we asked what happened, Lulu yelled at me and my sister like it was my fault. I immediately asked for my deposit back and went down the street to WILLIAM RENTAL where they helped me out big time.
I don’t know how lulu is still in business, she’s a horrible, rude, dishonest lady. They need to be shut down for good! DON’T USE THEM… EVER!!! I wasted my time dealing with that horrible lady!

Cornejo did my daughter quinceanera last February they did such a beautiful job with the church and the hall the food was good and there cake she was soo happy it was a beautiful day for her. Now I’m going back to plan my other daughter quince.

I used Cornejo’s Event Planner for my wedding for 350 guests.
The day of the party they were on site from 3:00pm until 12:00 am yes midnight.
Their location is easy to get to and parking is available if you go at the right time, there is a kickboxing/​yoga studio class next door, Their suite in the building is pretty small, but the office is decent size.
They coordinated the food including the cake and fruit/​dessert table, china (tableware), Linens, waiters, bartender, decorations including centerpieces, and reserved my hall and security.
The price was right on amazing! They worked with me since i didn’t need the church decorated and slashed some $ off the price. The hall was included in the package as well, which i believe they get a discount or on a contract with them since they use different ones all the time because for the size of my hall it should of been way more money. PLUS THEY LET YOU DO PAYMENTS! I went in a year ahead with no complications and gave my last payment a week before the wedding.
The food: They have tastings during the weekends, and if you request to try something they do not have out when you go they can schedule you a PRIVATE tasting with what you’d like your menu to look like. Our food was sooo delicious and the waiters advised me if we wanted to take leftovers home at the end of the day, which my party guests where happy to do so.
The cake, we actually didn’t cut… my husband and I were too busy dancing the night away to worry about that; we took a picture with it and asked the waiters to cut it for us as we had our night to our selves. You get to choose toppings, fillings, cake type, and design. The cake that is included in the package wil be made to feed as the number of guests you have planned to have at your reception.
The fruit table was right on point. Fresh ripe juicy… mouth watering… lol
the chocolate fountain was a HIT! it looked like it’d been licked clean.
I upgraded from plastic ware to china which only the glasses where actual glass the plates are actually hard plastic. well at least the ones we got.
_​_​_​I did ask lulu what if something broke or. worse…some come out missing at the end of the party? she said not to worry that everything is covered.
Linens: they make an apt with you to come and see the table and centerpiece so you can see how they will look well before you have your party, YOU need to make an apt so everything is in order THEY WILL NOT make one for you. ITS YOUR PARTY NOT THEIRS. Be as specific as you can, they encourage it!
ONE thing they messed up on was the way the napkins were supposed to be folded but i was OK with it. When I spoke to Lulu after my party to reserve her for another one and pointed that out she advised me that i SHOULD HAVE told her, they would of gone to repair that mistake easily.
THEY DECORATE A DAY BEFORE which is awesome because you can see your hall and make sure you got what you asked for. I made my own menu’s and table numbers; asked them to put them on the plates when they where decorating. They also let you bring your own drinks/​beer/​wine/​liquor a day before. I reserved the Scottish Rite Center and they let me store everything in their walk in fridge. The lady Angela i believe who is the secretary at the Scottish Rite Center was extraordinary with us, she allowed us to use some props for free and even got us a jumpy house for the kiddos, which was a lifesaver no kids where running around or bothering their parents.
The waiters: where super nice, they made sure to «guard» the buffet line until we got there and served ourselves first, with the dinner and dessert.
The bartender: was nice, and respectful. When we asked him to lie and say we didn’t have anymore alcohol although we clearly did, he did what was asked in a professional tone to our guests.
The security: was never just sitting around. they where posted in the front entrance and by the main entry doors to our hall. they also roamed through the parking lots with flashlights and made sure it was safe outside and the cars were safe as well.
**At first when i went in to check on this, the lady that was attending us was rude and unprofessional, THEN we spoke to the owner LULU. I cannot stress enough of what a difference she made on the whole experience. ASK for her, she is nice and straight out. Remember this is YOUR celebration; if you don’t bother to make sure before the scheduled date to make such important apt’s with LULU (table decoration/​centerpiece demonstration, food) to make sure everything is going accordingly, there could be complications like any other place. I am extremely satisfied with her and her team. So satisfied, we are looking to use their services again soon :)

We used them for our wedding for centerpieces, flowers, and food. Food was delicious, 5 stars, Centerpieces were not as discussed but what can do on the day of. They were beautiful but not what was asked for, discussed or even presented when she came out to my home to show me. So I was definitely confused on that. My bridal bouquet and bridesmaids flowers and flowers for the groom and party were not as discussed or presented as well. Luckily, my awesome hubby took care of it and they brought the correct flowers back that morning. A little stressed but it all worked out. I was disappointed in the service at the reception. Very little in clean up and they forgot to cut the cake. You definitely get what you pay for and they were budget and wallet friendly.

they did the church decoration, hall décor and the catering. I made a huge mistake to have them do all for me.
the church décor was ok. no complaints.
the hall décor was not what I asked for. the table centerpieces were fresh bouquet of roses. I wanted different flowers and a totally different look. I was really disappointed. I even showed them a picture of how I wanted my centerpieces. in regards to the catering. they pour salt on the water fountain instead of sugar. the alfredo pasta was awful. it tasted like burned bread. and the fruit was not fresh at all.
They give me a «good» package price. but they couldn’t handle it. My wedding was for 300 people. too big for them.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE… the worst, I could say, the ladies on the phone act extremely rude, they need some training on how to handle customers. For my wedding I chose some decoration I saw on one of the pictures they have, the final thing wasn’t even close to what I had seen nor what I had paid for, of course I couldn’t do anything because there was a wedding going on, I also paid them so they could bring the aisle runner for the church and they forgot it!!! We where right there, just minutes before the ceremony begun and no carpet!!! Lucky for us the church has it’s own runner for moments like this, for only $ 80, which I had to pay at the moment, after the wedding I went to their office explaining what happened and the lady on the desk gave me an attitude, like if it was my fault, anyway, it’s been more than a month and I’m still waiting for a change with the refund only for the carpet. Not a serious company at all!!!
Think it twice before hiring this company for you event.

This was by far the most affordable caterer I found and they have great food too. Cornejos is perfect if you don’t want to deal with too many vendors for your event because the Owner Lulu is a jack of all trades. she is an event coordinator, cook, planner and a florist.
Lulu was really affordable and nice she not only worked with my budget but was also very flexible with the menu. instead of 3 meats she let me use a pasta with meat for one of my choices and since I couldn’t decide on the side salad I chose two (a little of each).
I would definitely recommend her to anyone on a budget that is looking for great décor and food.

I found this place after doing a lot of research on-​line. I needed a caterer for my wedding; one that wasn’t going to cost me and my fiancé an arm and a leg and possibly and eye. They have food tasting every Saturday and Sunday, which is a PLUS. They have different packages (I like having options). They have American, Mexican, and Italian dishes.
We decided to go with the buffet for 200 guests. They give you the choice of three meats, two sides, salad, and it also includes a mini fruit buffet… all for a very reasonable price compared to many companies out there. They also provide napkins, plates and eating utensils.
The food itself was delicious. The meats were juicy and not dry, and not salty. They had plenty of food for all our guests, plus a little more (just in case people decided to get seconds). They have people serving the food (they were very friendly).
I have to give a HUGE PLUS to the manager that was there until the very end of our wedding reception, which ended at midnight. He stayed because he had to collect all of the table cloths, but what he did not have to do is clean or help clean the hall, but he did so anyway. He helped clear the tables and helped stacked the chairs AND he was taking the garbage outside. A BIG THANKS to him (too bad I can’t remember his name).
Overall, great food, friendly staff, and EXCELLENT service
