The food was OK, nothing fantastic. The atmosphere is great though. The staff leaves a bit to be desired. Several errors on our order. There are better places nearby so I won’t be coming back.

Went to Happy Hour tonight and was blown away. Drinks were excellent, but the true star was the food. We had the Burger and the Moule Frites. Portion sizes were worthy of dinner and both dishes were terrific. The burger and fries were as good as I’ve had downtown, including The Garage, Joe’s, and Morton’s. The Moule Frites with aoli was exceptional. I don’t know where I’d even look for something equivalent downtown. And both dishes were $ 6 each. There’s no value or quality like this to be found anywhere in San Jose – and when you throw in Deluxe’s very cool vibe, attentive service, and airy space, this becomes a true find. Only five stars because I couldn’t put six.

I wanted a burger and fries for dinner, so we came here. The service was attentive, and the food came out quickly. The burger was served on a great bun and was cooked medium as I requested. The burger was the right amount of juicy, and the fries were excellent. Our server kept coming by to refill our drinks. I would definitely come here again.

While staying at the Fairmont, we found this gem nearby. Loved it so much that we came here two mornings in a row. I recommend the shrimp and grits for a really filling and delicious breakfast. As a Filipino, I also couldn’t pass up the spam, eggs and white rice! I don’t normally order a Bloody Mary, but I really liked theirs. I recommend sitting at the bar but otherwise they do have a good amount of seating ranging from regular tables that seat two to some seating larger parties. They also have a few couch chairs if you are just looking to grab a coffee and lounge. As mentioned earlier, I preferred having my breakfast at the bar. The bartender that morning I went was fun to chat with as well as some of the other patrons at the bar. Service was pretty good. The restaurant has a sort of old timey, antique look with old telephones and luggage decorating the interior.

Meh! Sums it up. The food is good not great but don’t ask for any substitutes or simple changes cuz they can’t/won’t accommodate. I.e. I wanted the refuge which is a scramble but I wanted the eggs sunny side up instead but the waiter some how thought I didn’t understand that it would no longer be a ‘scramble’ and just place the order, I get it! I just don’t want my eggs scrambled. Any who, gave up trying and settled on a different dish but would have been happier if they could just give me what I wanted. Also, the overall vibe is very casual, like you’re at a friends house party which is cool if you’re into that and don’t mind paying $ 15/plate to eat at a friends house. I personally prefer a restaurant a little more established with higher standards of customer satisfaction and just better waitressing skills, i.e. Don’t slam drinks down on the table and don’t hover over all our food to put a plate down. Like I said meh!

BLUF: Neat little diner near the convention center with subpar food for the price. On a side note, the pancake that my friend ordered was heavenly but it was the only piece of good food. Stopped by Deluxe to grab brunch before attending the Fit Expo at the convention center on Sunday. For the morning rush hour on a laid back Sunday, the diner was decently empty and we were able to get a table as soon as we walked in. After looking at the menu, I started with a mimosa. The drink came in a half filled flute with orange juice and a mini champagne bottle to mix on my own. For my meal, I ordered the 3 egg omelette with chicken apple sausage, bacon, and cheese. After biting into my omelette, I found that the sausage was over cooked to a point it was thick and chewy and the eggs were run too thin that the omelette was breaking. The meal came with a side of potatoes which were well salted and prepared as well as toast. My friend ordered a classic eggs benedict with a side pancake. I took a bite of his pancake and it was one of the best pancakes I’ve had in a while. The pancake was crispy and crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy inside. Overall, the meal was«A-Ok» as the pure quantity was enough but it was not a satisfying meal.

Great atmosphere! I sat next to the bar on a couch, very comfortable. The drinks are great, I ordered the one with cucumber, very dredging! And you can ask them to make whatever you want as well. The best part is that they serve breakfast items all day along!

Went there for a small celebration. We had brunch around 11:30 and the crowd hadn’t set in. Service was great and the food was prepared and served to us in no time. I was surprised though when my daughter ordered a grilled cheese! But when I saw it** I wished I’d ordered one too! It was just outrageous with everything you wouldn’t expect on a grilled cheese. I guess you’ll have to go there to find out!

Came here for a quick lunch and it was a pleasant experience. Place was practically empty, but it was a Monday, so there is that. They have a happy hour menu which includes food, but was told the kitchen was closing so we needed to hurry up and order, which was weird as it stated happy hour 3 – 6, and it was only three. C’est la vie. Drinks were great as was the grilled cheese sandwich. If looks could kill. I’ll probably have to come here again when it’s a bit more popping and get a better feel, but overall I enjoyed my brief time here.

I’ve heard about this place from friends and couldn’t wait to give it a try. The water arrived and they all smelled like egg. We sent back the water and ordered juice and coffee. The coffee cups smelled like egg as well but the juice was fine since it came from the bar. We ordered the Remedy and the Eggs Woodhouse. The remedy was amazing and worth the trip but the eggs on the $ 21 Woodhouse Benedict were hard boiled. I asked the waitress if they were supposed to be runny or solid and she said it depends as she rolled her eyes. She relented and said they should be runny so she brought out two poached eggs in a bowl? I assembled my meal and had to ask for Hollandaise sauce because it wasn’t very good bare. I will try and come back, maybe ill order a Remedy and eat it at the park.

Great food and great customer service. I would definitely come back again if I lived in the area! I got the Spam and white rice with 3 eggs and the Spam was cooked great. Be sure to ask for it extra crispy. My sis got the granola and 3 eggs on the side. She said it was perfect.

Came here tonight for dinner and HOLYAMAZING!!! We shared the bacon wrapped meatloaf … It was EPIC!!! Perfectly seasoned, perfect char from the flat grill … I can’t wait to come back to try other entrees!!!

Fell in love with this place today and I cannot believe as many times as I’ve passed Deluxe, it took me this long to try it out. Eatery. Drinkery. Yes and Yes ;) This is truly a 5 star place for me because it nails atmosphere, food, and service was phenomenal. Really love the interior and the way the place is set up. So easy to miss from the outside and you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you come in. One of my favorite dive bars is next door and I also eat and get drinks at chachos next door, and never thought anything of Deluxe. I wish I came in sooner because I would have easily skipped out on trips to Bills Café for this place. Had the Remedy and my friend had the egg sandwich. Both meals have bacon, which is a huge thumbs up ;) The potatoes are really good. They tasted better than they looked. I’m a supporter of things and food that taste better than it looks. I can’t eat with my eyes, ya know? Got a latte and had a mimosa. Everything, great. Wonderful experience and I will be back soon to check out their bar life at night.

Their breakfast/brunch/lunch is off the hook! Super delicious. The portions are large and the food is yum yum gimmie some. The first time I visited, I’d stop by for a beer with my buddy after the cinebar got too crowded. Service was great and drinks were on point. About a week after my initial visit I was able to convince my co-workers to try it for lunch. Not one of us was disappointed. Their service was awesome and the food was terrific. We all walked in at 1 p.m. for a late lunch and immediately notice that several tables were enjoying breakfast. I love a place that allows you to decide when you want to eat breakfast/lunch or dinner. Anyway, their menu isn’t huge, but, they have enough of a variety of items to choose from. Every person at our table ordered breakfast and drinks. And then we all spent the rest of the next couple hours raving about how good it was. So this past Sunday I convinced friends to try it out. There was a 30 minute wait but, we had ourselves a bloody maria(tequila instead of vodka) and Ohh… my…dear…, talk about delicious. When it was time to be seated they took us to a high table. The maitre d said that that’s all they had. Absolutely no problem. After all, we didn’t go to sit, we went to eat. They could’ve made us stand the whole time and we’d probably done it. Everyone’s food was great. Yep, we shared small portions with one another. Again, just like with my co-workers, everyone raved about how good the food was. Server was excellent, again, just like my first visit. Their homemade jam was super good. It was so good that I wanted to ask if they sold it in a jar. I’m definitely coming back. Pros: –The staff is really accommodating and friendly –Some may gimmie a face but, hands down — best breakfast I’ve ever had in San Jose –Drinks are on point(try a bloody maria) –You can have breakfast whenever your little heart desires –Staff hustles(meaning, they’re non-stop moving and checking-in on their tables)

Good lord almighty were my exact thoughts when I received my country fried steak. The portion was that massive! Thankfully, it was delicious and worth every bite. The steak was super tender, the coating had a great crunch, and everything was well seasoned. Not to take away from the sides because they too were great. The sunny side eggs were done just right and the biscuits and gravy was a solid addition to round out the dish. The bowl of granola with fruit is no joke as well, in terms of portion, so prepare yourself if you think it is going to be a small snack. The reason why I can’t give this place higher than a 4 is because of the drinks. Their version of a Pimms cup had an odd flavor combination and felt water down. Service was good and the ambiance was lively, a place where you can bring friends to hang out or a date Overall Thoughts Amazing country fried steak but a miss on the drink

No wait on a Tuesday at 11am(granted it was the holiday week). We wanted to order some apps to share, but the waiter informed us that they didn’t have any of the Deluxe plates or sides. I opted for the classic eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The egg was good, the English muffin was toasted nicely, but the smoked salmon was way too salty. I’m not sure if they made the salmon in-house or if it’s bought. The fried potatoes that came on the side were good. I tried a small bite of my friend’s steak & eggs, and it was good as well. For drinks, we had bloody mary’s and mimosas to go around. The bloody mary’s were a tad bit too spicy. The waiter forgot the mimosa, and it took nearly 15 minutes for my friend to finally get it.

I’ve been to the South Bay many times only to leave the airport and miss San Jose entirely. But a recent business trip had me staying downtown, which turned out to be a great choice, in large part because I found Deluxe. I travel on my stomach, and my first morning in a new city is usually spent looking for a great local breakfast spot. Downtown San Jose is a nice enough place to stay with lots of bars and restaurants, but the breakfast scene is sparse. There was trying to locale a couple of well regarded spots in the area when I ran across Deluxe and changed my plan. The venue had recently opened with a remodeled, shabby chic vibe, and hadn’t yet received its liquor license. But even without a morning Bloody Mary, I found the staff is friendly and efficient, and the food(while simple) to be tasty and well prepared. The menu has a nice selection of favorites like pancakes, eggs, oatmeal, and biscuits as well as a few unexpected items like grits and spam. So something for most everyone. Whether you’re a weary traveler or a local who’s in the know, Deluxe should be on your radar and in your rotation.
