Just started coming here on a regular basis just sundays only, but thinking I might come here more often. I can’t really review the coffee here I just enjoy the lemonade soda here, its an awesome drink. The girls that work here are somewhat friendly as compared to other Vietnamese coffee shops. There is one girl in particular and her name is phong, she’s very friendly and easy to talk to, justs wants to make u come here to see her.

Smells DISGUSTING and it creeps through the walls to the other businesses on each side. All the customers smoke and spit all over when they can. There is cigarette butts and trash littered all over from this place. I think it needs to be shutdown and moved.

Typical coffee joint in San Jose, but minus the naked chicks. Short skirts yes, bikinis? No. The coffee is known to be really good here, but in my opinion it’s a little darker and stronger than most places I’m used to. They say if I want it sweeter, then can make it, but I’m cool off of more condense milk that will go straight to my thighs. This place doesn’t allow you to play cards, but you can buy a lottery ticket! Located next to Bun Bo Hue and a Michael’s so that’s a plus :)

ok so I’m not sure what is really going on here, but if you want an interesting look into the Vietnamise culture, or at lease part of it, and some awesome tea, this is your place the«ladies» are friendly and you can get lottery tickets at the same time! It was a win win for me!

Before anything, I would like say that this is by far my worst experience with a Vietnamese coffee shop. Me and two buddies decided to go somewhere to chill a bit before we hit the theaters. VN coffee again it is… We walked in from the backdoor, which was facing Wells Fargo bank, not knowing they even had a front door. Pretty awkward but that wasn’t a problem. A lady in her late 30’s walked to our table to take order. I ordered a LIGHT Café Sua Da(because my heart can’t handle heavy coffee). She seemed like she had the potential to be friendly, but never was. I asked for a deck of cards and she said they don’t have cards.(–1 star) My coffee came out tasting like nothing but sweet condensed milk with ice water(–2 stars). I told a friend to go out to the car to grab a deck of cards from the car. We played some cards for about 20 minutes until another lady in her 40’s, who looks like the owner of the café, came to our table and said«cards wasn’t allow.» with a bitchy face(–2 stars) And yet they allowed smoking which I believe is illegal in public places. The whole 40 minutes we were there, the waitress never came to refill the ice tea or anything.(–2 stars) Bottom line, This place has a bad atmosphere, with old, unfriendly waitresses, stupid rules that does not allow cards, bad tasting coffee, horrible music, minimal TVs(as I can recall, only 3), and the game machines was not even on. No point of wasting your money here. I would give this place negative stars if I can.

I don’t care how many health codes are violated here but do not charge me $ 4.50 for a small Viet coffee with condensed milk!

I’m no authority on the VN cafes but this one’s as much of a class act as it gets. Wait staff is pretty friendly and quite good-looking(not to be sexist but, folks, that’s the business model), and, as a bonus, fully(albeit tightly) clothed. Never crowded by a stretch, always clean, music audible but not overwhelming, and usually a decent assortment of programming to see on the eight or so big-screens around the perimeter. They used to allow smoking indoors but that policy was recently(as of early June 2011) discontinued. It was booming during the 2010 World Cup — along with every other café in East SJ — but otherwise is pretty mellow even when Man U, Bayern Muenchen or other heavyweight FCs are on the telly. Highly recommended.

Update: Per another Unilocaler, this place opens by 6AM. The place is well-lit and tables-for-fours are spaciously spread around the large bar-looking/register(there are high chairs if one wants to sit there). Counted eight hanging large(50″+) plasmas/LCD TVs spread around, showing soccer/football/rugby/news channels. The coffee itself was not too sweet nor too strong, and hits the spot. They comp you chrysanthemum teas(other places use jasmine or black tea?), which was really good — can’t emphasize that enough! They also have pastries and cookies platters if want regular snacks. Along the biggest wall is one long wooden bench, with about eight bar-games machines. In one corner is a shelf full of lifestyle and sports magazines — some fashion catalogues too. Another corner in the back has a large fish tank. The exit to the back parking is here and so are the men’s and women’s separate restrooms. Girls are dressed in tight-fitting mini-skirts. Capacity is 69, coughs.

I just came from there and was soo outraged I had to sit down and immediately write a review to tell one and all of how they treat their customers… well I ordered a hot chocolate that tasted like hot water and medicine,. I still cant get that tase out or my mouth! After a few minutes of contemplating what I should do, I politely asked for just a plain cup of coffee instead. I just couldnt bring myself to drink the cup they had brought me. Well the poor waitress came back and said the manager wont let me exchange the beverage. No explanation, no apology. No nothing. Apparently they don’t value their customers and on top of that they went ahead and charged me four dollars for the drink that I did not drink! They definitely lost a customer.

One of the cleaner, larger vietnamese coffee shops around. Gets a bit crowded during major sporting events. Pretty good coffee. The usual $ 4 per cup. Plenty of free tea to go around. The scene is alright, the smoke is usually controlled pretty well. The touchscreen games seem up-to-date. Large parking lot.

of all the viet coffee in san jose, the waitress at this place are most friendly. the owner even made a few attempts to welcome me on my first few trips. the décor is much nicer, the place is not as crowded, and it is the only viet coffee joint where I feel comfortable working on my laptop. the only downside to this is the smoking! if it wasn’t for the smoking, i’ll give this place 5 stars. there is only one coffee joint in that area that actually abide by the no-smoking rule… and that is Quyen Café just down the street.
