Em Quyen Cafe

The worst service and coffee. Don’t ever want to come here again. If you want to get sick from drinking coffee you found the place !

Just like any other Vietnamese coffee shop really besides its on the smaller size. When I went here over the Memorial weekend, the crowd was a little older than the places where I go to. The girls come around ask you want you want to drink and serve you tea. The music that was playing that morning was some type of EDM. It is a nice and chill spot and the music is not too loud so you can still ahve a conversation with whoever you are with. I haven’t been to a coffee shop in a while but there were not video games at this spot.

This place is inviting if you’re not a regular at VNese cafes. Good place to catch up with friends since not too noisy. Nor is it dark so it doesn’t seem as divy/​sketchy.
TVs were not exclusively set to sports. Surprisingly, both ESPN and NFL Network were not on but other programming were (i.e., NBC Sports Network, Tennis Channel and some business news show). Rare for sure.
However, the waitresses did not come by to refill teas, nor brought any napkins — even after we asked for it. Still, I can see why it’s a popular café and I would definitely return.

Vietnamese coffee… yummy! Too bad there’s no food here, but otherwise, a decent place for some coffee and tea. It’s not the best place to watch a football game here, but when in need for a coffee fix, come here.

Ambiance: long establishment with chairs facing the center.
Waitresses: Latina was stunning and cute. Other two Asians working at the time I went were decent. One was wearing a red skirt, a lot prettier. She was checking herself out quite a bit behind the counter.
AM: great fan service, very crowded.
PM: if you get the right waitress, easier to talk to.
Crowd: average age is about 40, they could be my dad. Some sprinkling of younger folks but we were the youngest. Nothing sketch.
Drinks: very limited selection, avocado was decent, not too sweet.
Music: good decent selection but they have it on replay.
Overall: want some sights? Come during the morning hours before 11. Want more personal time and interaction? Come after 5. Will be going back, but too many people in the AM.

Tom O. is completely right with the customer service. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at a Vietnamese coffee shop and I’ve been to many.
Grab a seat. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come take our order. None of the girls come.
–We wave our hands signalling we want our order taken. They’re too busy chatting and texting.
–We have to go up to the counter and tell them what we want.
–Orders come and they give us our drinks. They don’t even serve us the tea like the other tables.
–We go pay and then the cashier lady doesn’t remember how much money she gave us.
Go somewhere else, the girls are just aite looking here. That one girl Christina from Nha Em works here now. Last time I’ll ever go to this place. BTW. this place is just filled with older Vietnamese doods in their 40s and 50s here. No young crowd here.

If you aren’t here for the lackadaisical service or over the top sweet drinks then why in the world would you come here? According to the homies its the spot that takes in all the overflow from them other joints just down the street.

Is this the place people call the pig farm?

I usually come here to get some work done. The visual is usually nice in the afternoon on a weekday. A major plus is they don’t allow smoking inside…

Went with a couple of buddies. As another guys mentioned, «another disappointment! This is the worst coffee shop among the three sisters coffee shops (Quyen Café, Nguyen Expresso, and Em Quyen Café’.
Usually short staff and the owner who is the youngest of the sisters, just ignores you when you are paying.

Compare to vi sao café this place and the other tha sis coffee shop are disappointing in everyway except for 288 café that a whole different story.

Not going to lie I had no clue what this place was. All I saw was coffee, walked in and saw 25 men starring at me and 3women in bikinis. That’s one way to wake up on a Friday morning! I didn’t get anything there. But I give it 3 stars for being a highlight of my day. Haha

I went to Quyen Café on last Friday with a friend who was due to get married the next day. The day after he got married, my friend, his new wife, another couple, and I came to this café to see if there was any different than Quyen Café since they were so close together.
This place is literally twice the size of the other. But the only problem was that for it being so big there were only 2 girls. What?! Twice the size and half the women! Ok, it was a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty packed but I still expected the place to be staffed beyond the 2 girls that were there.
Coffee here is better and is not as sweet as the other place. They also had a larger variety of items to chose from; coffee, shakes, and tea. I could be wrong on the selection because I didn’t ask the other place if they had anything else other than coffee.
So I’m a bit split between this place and the one down the street. 1 was smaller but had more girls and this place was twice as big but half as many girls. It’s a toss up until I can come in here on a busier night to see how the girls really are on a busy night.
Again like my last post, I’ll reevaluate my rating after I’ve come here again.

Warning! Do not go here! The worst service I’ve ever had at any business, or restaurant period.
The girls here are lazy. They sit around eating food and texting instead of helping customers. As far as employees at any sort of business, they are completely useless.
I went in there and asked to use the restroom before I sat down to order, and was told that I couldn’t use it before ordering. And, by the way, the bathroom was covered with piss and smelled like a porta potti. Then, once my iced coffee arrived, it was only half full. There were like 4 to 6 ice cubes sticking out above where the coffee was lol. The flavor was ok.
They also bring the typical iced tea, but it never got refilled in the 45 minutes that I was there. But those girls, sat there and stuffed their faces with ribs, bbq, and one girl in a black and white zebra dress was eating noodles from a bowl with chopsticks while taking payment from a customer! What a fat little pig!
The other girl who was wearing some knock off victorias secret lingerie, just sat and chatted with her girlfriends the whole time I was there. Once again, useless.
These girls are all fake. Fake boobs, and they were even flaunting their fake Louis Vuitton bags! hahaha
This by far is the worst Viet coffee shop in San Jose, and they have the nastiest, useless, stupid girls working there.
The girls are covered with bruises, stretch marks, and even look and smell like they don’t shower.
DON’T GO HERE!!!

SPEND YOUR MONEY AT ANY OTHER VIET CAFE.

This place can get HOT some times… you know what I mean!!!
NO smoking is a PLUS.

Em Quyen is the only place where you can cramped a bunch of guys together without fights, over-​tipping $ 5 for a $ 4 coffee and not bitching about the terrible Tully traffic on a Friday afternoon just to come here.
Yea the coffee is that good ;p

I gave them an extra star because our server was nice. She’s also tall too for an Asian chick. This place was quieter than our last stop.
Coffee is $ 4 along with the fruit cocktails and plum lemonade.
The place was bigger so it had more walking space, but where were all the clients at!!?

This place is super cramped and DIRRTY. The girls are pretty but you can tell that they are trying a bit too hard. I’ve experienced better, and the coffee was lacking in flavor, tasted super watery! I don’t think I’ll be stopping in

Another disappointment! This is the worst coffee shop among the three sisters coffee shops (Quyen Café, Nguyen Expresso, and Em Quyen Café). The coffee shop is small and crowded. Tables and chairs are scattered everywhere. There’s is no walking space at all. If you come here at the busy time of the day, you probably have to sit with some strangers.
Even though the waitresses are not bad looking, their attitude is terrible. The services they provided are not up to par. During the whole time we were there, they never come by to refill our tea.
I would not come back here again unless they change the way they serve their customers.

Really nice place for sport and the sound system is great.

I really like the fact that this place is not ghetto like other place.
