Downtown Bistro

I am a vegetarian virgin. I really don’t know what appeals to the vegetarian community so when I was asked to find good vegetarian food, I was a bit perplexed. I asked around and was led straight to Lang Chay, a Vietnamese Vegetarian restaurant that is famous in the Vietnamese community. Their food is so good, they’ve open 3 locations: one on Story Rd., one on Tully Rd. and one in downtown SJ. They’ve renamed the downtown SJ location to Downtown Bistro, as it is a more appealing name to the more professional, upscale crowd they are trying to cater towards. My favorite dish here is the Eggplant & Tofu stirfry. I normally do not like eggplant as I find the texture to be off-​putting but the cook puts a nice tasty spin to this dish that satisfies even this veggie neophyte. I look forward to trying their soups soon.
